BlackBerry Smartphones I hope that no more new posts today

Minor problem... somehow, I lost my browser icon... How can this be? I looked several times in a row and it seems that I have moved or missing it... any ideas? I checked that I hid not accidentally.

See again you?

First thing try a battery pull, with the phone YOU carry the battery for about a minute.

replace and let the machine restart entirely from 1 to 3 minutes. See if the icon is back

Hi everyone, I just got a new bb and need to transfer numbers from my old curve (which I lost) on this one. All numbers are saved on my laptop in what appears to be a .ipd file? IM useless with this stuff and would appreciate any help. Ive tried about 6 times already but this is not workirking! Pls Heeelp

Hello and welcome to the community!

Indeed, these IPD files are backups of your BB and are available as a source of food (they are a proprietary format and cannot be used for any other purpose, except by a few 3rd party applications that have been written to analyse). Choose the most recent one (the one with the most recent date and time, as displayed in the File Manager Windows) using this procedure:

  • WARNING blackBerry Smartphones: 3 rd Party Applications and new software update

Warning about the 3rd party applications: I recently downloaded 5-10 3 rd party applications on my Blackberry Curve 8310.  All seemed well for the first day or two, but then after that my phone started himself reboot over and over again. The only thing I could do and that he would keep on had to continuously press the back (arrow).  It was extremely difficult to erase the applications on the phone while having this button is used to keep on. Finally, I kept it long enough to completely wipe the phone and reload the OS software and do a restore on all content.  It was the only thing that helped.

After I got my phone working again, I noticed that some of the service books were somehow deleted during this process. I had to go on my site of BIS of service providers (google to find the website of your provider BIS) and I had to return the service directories to my phone. After that, I noticed that my APN, username and password have been deleted... For google, I got that as well to find the right APN address to type to get my internet and other functions running.  Now, I noticed that my notebook, brickbreaker and tasks are missing from my list of icons and the list of the Applications on my phone. URGH! Now I had to re-download the new software and while recharging it I had to make sure I clicked on advanced and made sure that these elements have been verified to download as well.

... NOW, my phone is restarting again.

DON'T MAKE THIS MISTAKE! IT OF ME GIVIN SUCH A MASSIVE HEADACHE! I AM READY TO THROW MY PHONE OUT THE FREAKING WINDOW. SERIOUSLY... WHAT GIVES?

    UPDATE:

Well, I figured out how to get my Notepad, password keeper, and the brick breaker back... and since I have redownloaded the software and restarted my phone, everything seems to work very well.  If you just installed the new software and you miss now your Notepad, password keeper and brickbreaker icons, here's what you do:

    1. open your BB Desktop software and connect your phone.

    2. click on Application Loader

    3. click on start under Update Applications

    4. click on Check For Updates in the lower right corner of the screen. This will redirect you to the page of the BB software.

    5. from this page, you want to click on Blackberry Device Software in the left column.

    6. click on the button update now.

    7. click on the update button. This will pull up the BB Desktop.

    8. from this screen, click Options. The device Application selection page should open.

    9. here you want to scroll down and tick all that you are missing as: Notepad, password keeper, etc.

    10. click Next.

    11. click on finish

You are only halfway done... Now you must do the following to get your old memos and passwords that have been stored in these dos applications.  I hope that you have a backup that you saved before installing the new software.  Otherwise you are about to lock but if you have it, it's what you do:

    1. in the main menu of the BB Desktop click on the backup and restore

    2. click on advanced, on the right.

    3. in the upper left corner of the screen click on file, then open.

    4. search your saved backup file, and click on the one you want.

    5. now, in the left column, you will see roughly the same thing that is in the right column. You can click on those that you are missing, one by one and add to your phone by clicking on the ">" arrows.  Specifically, you will want to click on: Blackberry Messenger, Memo Pad Options, memos, guard password, password Keeper Options, tasks, tasks Options.

Hope this helps anyone who was having the same problem as me!

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not download or install 'new' app version if on BB App World My app (as deleted / Archives)

If we compare the Blackberry App World website for local storm App World, the versions do not match.  Seems that I am obliged to "Reinstall" my 'old' applications previously deleted/archived compared to download and install the latest version.

    2 questions:

    1. When you reinstall an app to archive, the unit first checks to see if there is a newer version available for install?

    2. How can I install the latest version of an application if the old version is listed in Blackberry App World My (as deleted or archived)

    My example

I used QuickPull Lite on my Storm 4.70... QuickPull Lite version was 2.2.1.  I've updated my Storm to 5.0.  Now I want to install QuickPull Lite 3.5, but my only option via Blackberry App World My Storm is the 2.2.1 version.  Why can't I install version 3.5!  I need to install 2.2.1 then upgrade to 3.5?  What happens if the 2.2.1 is incompatible (with OS 5)?  Any ideas?

    Storm OS 5.0 (Verizon version)

    App World 1.1.0.20

    Thank you!

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

The list of applications that you see on this catalogue is the list complete and unfiltered applications for all BB models. The list that you see in the interface for device is filtered for your specific device model and the OS. So what you see in the interface for device is a subset - and it is they who are at your disposal. If a developer does not release an app/version for your device, it does not display in your device to AppWorld interface, although it has shown in the web catalogue.

I'd say go ahead and Unarchive/reinstall the earlier version. Then go to MyWorld and it will show you if there is an update... If so, update. Then, as the old version is now replaced by the new in MyWorld, you can still archive it like the old version will have been erased.

It it gives you problems, there are other tricks to try...

In some cases, it was discovered that updates (from got AppWorld apps) require additional steps in order to install the update. If the update will not install, please try this:

    1. Homescreen > Options > Advanced Options > Applications > highlight the app > BBKey > delete
    2. AppWorld > MyWorld > Login > highlight the app (if she shows at all, in any State) > BBKey > delete
    3. Use your PC (via the mass storage Mode) or your BB (via Media > BBKey > Explore) and find all references (folders, files) to the app delete everything you find. Search the memory of your device and your press card as well.
    4. Use this link to user guide AppWorld for re - install the app - then predict a new activation/registration key

    Hope that helps!

    Clear the application cache:

    1. open the App World

    2. go to my world

    3. for the BB keyboard-oriented - hold down the ALT key and press on, in the sequence R, then S, then T

    3. for Storm/Pearl - hold the num-lock (! 123 button) so that it hangs and then press on, in the sequence 3, then 4, then)

4A. If your BB locks after issuing clear cache, do a battery pull reboot

I hope something here get you again.

    See you soon!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones problems receiving calls on my new Blackberry Curve 8520

My new Blackberry curve is not receive calls. I tried to take the battery out, connect to the orange network and change the profiles manually. any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you, Caroline.

    Hello!

    I suggest the following:

    (1) registry HRT

    • Homescreen > Options > Advanced Options > host Routing Table > BBKey (it matter little what line is current) > sign up now

    (2) Service reference books

    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service

    (3) restart to take batt

    • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I hope that will move things again for you! If this isn't the case, then I suggest that contact your operator voice services are controlled by them.

  • BlackBerry smartphones, I think that my phone hates me :(

    Hi so yes

I did have my Blackberry for a while and today I downloaded a theme (free trial Doodles) and since I decided to try it my phone has continued to spoil

Does not open my options so I can't change or remove this theme

BlackBerry App World does not open apps so that I can not download another theme

I don't really know what to do

    Someone please help

Hi and welcome to the forums!

Try to run your device in safe mode. You should be able to remove the theme of the problem. I suggest a peripheral complete backup using Desktop Manager before deleting anything.

  • Copy of blackBerry Smartphones receive messages that I've sent

Whenever I have send an email on my phone I get a copy of it immediately... almost instantly after you send. It comes in the form of message not read myself. I clearly messed up an email affecting somewhere... It also happens if I send an email from my pc... almost instantly after you send the message on my blackberry.

Also is there anyway to stop receiving messages "called" in my Inbox on my pc? whenever I have a message from my blackberry the confirmation message "delivered" appears in my Inbox on my pc.

    Thanks in advance,

    Mike

Wow... it sounds as if you have an old configuration of GMail in BIS... see this article:

    • KB10332 Duplicate sent email message arrives on the BlackBerry smartphone when sent using a built-in Gmail account

This problem was actually fixed several months ago... If you configure your GMail account to provide IMAP and then delete and recreate your conduit BIS, it shouldn't be a problem. There are all kinds of improvements through the last sheet of GMail in (I have not tried, btw - I use the application add-on GMail rather than BIS for my GMail accounts).

With respect to the acknowledgement of receipt that you get - you must go to the configuration of your BB Messages and which turns off:

    • Home screen > Messages > BBKey > Options > e-mail settings > (choose the GMail account if you have several) > delivery confirm > set on no.

Good luck and let us know!

  • XP8500 Radeon 7770: Multi Monitor Help (more) - New Post

As requested by osprey4 it's a new post asking the same question

I have a 8500 XPS with 2 GB AMD Radeon HD video card 7770.  I want three monitors VGA to the fastener.  What would be the best configuration?

    Thank you.

You must start with a monitor connected to the video card that you did, DVI - i > VGA.

Restart, and then press F2 before Windows starts to load to open the BIOS Setup. Use the arrow keys to navigate and find/highlight the Intel Multi display option. Press Enter to select and look in the right for an option panel to enable (it is disabled by default). Save changes and exit and let it restart.

Then normally stop and connect the second VGA monitor to the integrated VGA adapter and reboot again. It's supposed to allow the VGA port built into work along side a video card, when you use Win 7 and have an Intel 'third generation '.

DP and HDMI are purely digital signals. You need a dongle assets such as the one I linked above to convert the digital signal into an analog VGA signal. Most of the adapters are passive and only change the cable connector of DP in one that plugs into a VGA port, but a passive adapter is not to convert the digital signal into analog signal. (BTW: check the box, Dell may have given you a RFP > VGA dongle active with the system.)

A divider wil does not support 2 independent monitors on a single port. All you can see is the exact same window on both screens.

    I hope this helps...

  • BlackBerry smartphones free booster that works?

I just bought my first Blackberry I've ever owned, and although I have a gift for getting around any new electronic device I buy, there are a lot of areas where I could improve my knowledge when it comes to these phones. I have a Blackberry Curve 8530 and I would like to know if anyone knows of a free battery booster application that actually works? The ones I used here have not really worked. Someone please give me the answer if you have. I would be grateful any good knowledge that anyone can have. Thank you
Oh Yes. I love my phone. Addicting.

Is there really such a thing? Certainly we all want more than power, but a stack has a finite amount of energy. Just like baldness cures and male enhancement drugs there are many claims, but little results.

More realistic would be the battery management and power. The battery on my curve light is more of a * beep * of a real power indicator light. I bought the app called boss of power for $0.99. It tells you your actual power level and how long some functions will run to the power current level. 30% and 20% popup tells your stats. 10% phone normally turned off its radio. Power boss can during the trip that work and leave your shipment one more e-mail, text, etc... That can be useful in a pinch.
Since the installation of this power management application, I jump my battery much less and use the power I have more effectively.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones BBM not worked since getting new phone

I bought my son a Blackberry Curve mid-August for her birthday

Everything we did was reversed his sim to his Blackberry so it is on a monthly contract with Orange

HE just told me that his BBM did not work from the first day to have the Blackberry, all his friends contacts just say waiting but never really connect

I know that this is not related to the problems as his since we opened the phone (which was brand new)

ive tried PC suite and google searches but cannot understand what is wrong

Please can someone help in layman's terms, not jargon on an easy way to solve this problem

  • BlackBerry Smartphones unwanted messages that are constantly appearing in the SMS

I have a new BB 8830 and I get the same message again and again in my SMS Inbox. It reads:

INFUSION: 0x1041c54: free GSM: stop automatically / / then boot to set of characters that are different every time.

It says it stops automatically, but it obviosuly haat ' t. I contacted Sprint of support that was a total waste of time. Any help would be appreciated to even understand what causes this message I get around 30-40 a day, even at 1:00, which is really annoying because I have to have my phone 24/7

    Thank you

Well, it seems, after much research, that there is a problem with the internet messaging system. 9114 indicates it is a yahoo account. As this is a new phone number for me and I had not set up a personal email yet, I can only assume it's a wedge of the former owner of phone number. Once I created my own Yahoo account with the phone via the email service blackberry internet, it must have overwirtten settings and now I have not received a single message since.

What I gethered you can also go online for Manager messages and to 'block' sprint of this number, although I can not do because it is a phone company and we have no access to the account manager system

I hope this helps people with the same problem

  • BlackBerry Smartphones BBM works 100% in a new country.

My 9360 was purchased from the store of blackberry, it was never closed. Just, I moved from Canada to New Zealand for a few months and have a plan here, with BIS, Vodafone. I can send and receive messages, bbm without any problem but since I'm here every invitation that I received when I click on accept it just says: pending (awaiting authorization), when I try to add the query is never received by them. All the requests I received are of ios or android users, however, I watched other people accept their application without any problem. I removed bbm and reinstalled but no progress. It's my main communication at home and it's upsetting not being able to talk to some of these people.

    Thank you

Did you use the BBM on your phone to a Wifi in New Zealand, that this problem occurs when your phone is on a Wifi network?

  • BlackBerry Smartphones ALL hope for 'moisture damage?

A few months ago - my phone got wet - and I got it cleaned up guy and I was good to go.  Then last week, he started to act up - husband he got in and she said that she had to do a "hard reset" before she could order me a new phone.  I had not synchronized anything yet (I know, BAD for me) so I took the phone back to the to do.  NOW, yesterday, he just died!  I have back in French - and another Rep told me and showed me the indicators 'pink' that he had water damage and that he would send in, but he doesn't think it would be under warranty and I have no insurance (again, BAD for me)!  My question - have anyone of you had some luck with your suppliers to find more than just the stupid pink line and in fact replace the phone under warranty?  Another question - do you know if there is ANY way I can retrieve my stuff from this phone?  I can't do anything other than red flash and give me the hourglass on white screen... I am so sad and desperate!  I don't understand why the first girl last week did not mention these moisture damage - and nothing happened to her during the week - and now I'm screwed?

    Thank you.
