BlackBerry Smartphones International calls problem

Hello
I am a citizen in South Africa and has a Blackberry8520. A friend of mine recently went to Sudan for six months. He tried to call me and his calls do not come through, and when I try calling it the only thing I hear is many beep sounds.

Could someone please help with the procedure that I have to take in order to allow incoming and outgoing international calls.

Your help is highly appreciated

Of course not. If the option can allow it, it also has the ability to disable.

Hello and welcome to the community!

I suggest the following, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message to your BB to come...) Please wait for this before moving on to the next step):

    (1) registry HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network
    • Please wait a 'registration' message reach your Messages application

    (2) remove and return Service directories

    • KB05000 Remove the maintenance book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account in the BlackBerry smartphone
    • If you do not have access CMIME, continue deleting
    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    • Please wait "the Activation' Messages, one per already configured e-mail account, arrive in your Messages. If you have not already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.

    (3) restart to take batt

    • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I hope that will move things again for you! If not, then you should try remove and re-add your BIS configuration for these accounts. Otherwise, you should contact your mobile provider for formal support.

    Good luck!

    Hello

Whenever I go to download the update of the software ' 7.1.0 Bundle 1149' it comes up with an error at the end by saying that I need to remove "21.4 MB of personal data", so I wonder about what exactly is 'personal data', so I can take advantage of the new update of the system...

I'd appreciate it if someone could return as soon as POSSIBLE, thank you.

There are two methods for recovering for you to try:

    One:

    • Open Blackberry Desktop Software & connect your device with the PC using the USB cable, without inserting the battery.
    • You have three Retry option, update or cancel, and then click Update.
    • Once it is at the stage of the "initialization of pocket" update, then insert the batteries.
    • If this does not work, and you get stuck on the safeguarding of social data feeds, go to the second method below.

    Second:

    • Start your BlackBerry in safe mode.  Article ID: KB17877 how to start a mode BlackBerry smartphone without failurehttp://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB17877
    • Connect to the BlackBerry Desktop Software and allow handheld to connect. If you are prompted to update, cancel the upgrade for later.
    • IF you can not connect or your desktop software does not recognize your device in Mode safe, please follow the instructions here to force detection: Article ID: KB10144 how to force detect the BlackBerry smartphone using the Application Loader
    • Go to device > delete > SELECT DATA > select this option to remove the Social flow and smart card data bases and follow the rest invites you to complete.
    • Now, you can go back and click to update the device through the Desktop Manager, or restart the BlackBerry in normal mode and continue on the upgrade of the air.
  • BlackBerry Smartphones video calls between BlackBerry or Voip calls must read more than a year a RIM does nothing about it...! Must be in bb10 correct your mistakes

Well, I'm not a programmer, but those who are not the their: Please answer this... ?

Why isn't their an app that can allow us to make calls voip blackberry for blackberry ok forget voip called something like Skype or facetime where to users of phones like blackberry 9900 or the 9860 can call the other times video I had the blackberry from book reading its pretty useless I never use it no cause of offence I can t Skype video calls my friends family need to have a playbook to call me ridculous if you look @ the samsung or the iphone, they all Skype for if other users don't have the same mobile phone they can even video call each other pc to phone or ipad to pc... etc.

I posted this on your facebook wall and hope that nothing is done about it

Blackberry question, why don't have an application like Viber or Skype where users who have blackberry as 9900 or the 9860 in which the two phones have front camera could Skype call or an application like viber in the blackberry users can call on voip... it is a reall fall in expected an app for blackberry for almost a year rang also edge to do something about IT... most users go for iphone so because of these two applications that maintains the connected in time video reall... enjoy some answer on this...

looking forward to the bb 10 having these sucks simple features of daily use not having them so fustrating I think to spend 529 book just cause the 9900 t can support Skype and the playbook is not just the feel

It is perhaps a question better directed to Skype and not HERE in the forums.  Skype has an application for BlackBerry, but it is only available to U.S. subscribers using Verizon.  (This information can be updated to date, it's updated information I have.)  Given that these forums are composed (not the right choice of words) of volunteers who love BlackBerry phones and not by RIM developers, your chances of getting the answer you are looking for may be thin.

    I hope that helps you.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones and the problems of video camera

I used my camera and video features for the first time yesterday and have a lot of problems.

    1. the picture that I got my wallpaper disappeared, returning the paper painted by default.

    2. I can see the thumbnails of wallpaper options, downloaded photos and new photos taken, but when I select the I just get a black screen. I sent a photo on my FaceBook and he moved very well, but I don't see the photo on my phone and when I select a make my wallpaper, nothing happens.

    3. is it possible that I can get a video out of my phone other than to send it to a BBM contact, YouTube or Bluetooth device? As text or email? I tried adding a video as an attachment in an e-mail, but it said that the file was too big. Can I do the smaller file to send by e-mail?

Help! I totally love this phone until yesterday! That's happened?

Try a battery pull if you please, with the BlackBerry device powered on, remove the battery 15 seconds and then reinsert the battery to reboot the device. This will clear all hide as restarting a PC. Then try again and see if the problem persists.

With respect to the transfer of a video, there may be a lot of data to be sent by email or text, and there is currently no tway to do more small on the phone, but with a PC, you can use a program called Handbrake and are free to re encode at a smaller size.

your device supports it USB mass storage and can function as a USB aka thumb drive

  • BlackBerry smartphones cannot call or receive calls

    Hello

I have the following problem and hope someone can help me with it:

    • Since yesterday my phone don't make me call or receive calls. In both cases, I get a "call failed". I see a connection activity in the upper right corner in both cases.
    • I use a prepaid card of Fonic/O2 where I can ask my balance by "call" * # 101. Normally it takes a few seconds to get the balance, now it takes much more time. Now, often even, I don't get my balance, but a "supplementary service error: General error:
    • I am still able to send text messages (but there was also a message that could not be sent).
    • Receive any text message does not seem to work.
    • A Wi - Fi connection works as usual.
    • When I put my sim card in another phone, everything works perfectly fine.
    • I was not trying to put another sim card in my blackberry.

    My data :

    • Carrier: Fonic/O2 Germany (without option bb)
    • Phone: BlackBerry Bold 9780

I hope that there is anyone having a clue!

    Thank you very much!

Thanks for your reply. The problem was the signal Tower. I think that my provider has resolved the problems on their own... Thread can be closed.

  • BlackBerry smartphone os downgrade problem

    Hi all

I just bought a bb 9780 OS 6. I am trying to reinstall the os via the Desktop Manager, but it does not show the downgrade option. I can't configure my gmail on this unit because it takes me to activation of corporate email and there is no other choice. Pls, help me in this?  Thank you

Hello and welcome to the community!

So you have two completely separate problems here......

    bukarihama wrote:

I just bought a bb 9780 OS 6. I am trying to reinstall the os via the Desktop Manager, but it does not show the downgrade option.

First, a "resintall" would prevent a "downgrade" isn't it? Reinstall means to install the exact same version that is currently running on the BB.

In addition, depending on the method you use, your recovery may be different. If you have only the Desktop software installed on your PC and not bundles of BONES, then Desktop software seeks to what your carreir expressly authorized right now and offers only those. Alternatively, if you have a package of operating system installed on your PC, then to have installed on your PC can be confusing Desktop software, preventing offerring you want.

You can, fortunately, more precisely control this, actually skip Desktop Manager... Here's how...

At the top of each forum device, there should be some 'sticky' threads dealing with the level of the OS available for many models. If they understand your model, please use those as a reference as you go along. Otherwise, you will have to dig through the download portal official for packages of OS for your model:

From a PC, you can install any compatible OS package (for example, for your BB model exact number) of a BB via this procedure:

Note Although written to "recharge" and the storm, it can be used to upgrade, downgrade or recharge any BB device model - depends on the operating system package you download and install on your PC. If this OS package comes from one carrier other carrier for which your BB was built, then remove, on your PC, all copies of the SELLER. XML... There will be at least one and maybe 2, and they will be located in the same way or to (it changes based on your version of Windows) these files:

    • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    • C:\Users\(your Windows username) \AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML

Don't forget that you remove, since your PC, any other BB OS devices as packages with more than one installed on the PC can cause conflicts with this procedure.

It is a function of the service plan, that you subscribe from your carrier (mobilink, according to your profile here). To use the exclusive services of BB (including the ability to Push email, BBM, etc), you must have an adequate data of your carrier plan. Carriers BIS (BlackBerry Internet Service) host for their BB users. In general, BIS is not available through generic data plans. Several ships make stop what is needed the Blackberry data plan. Whatever they call it, it is the carrier that delivers BIS users of BB - contact - the for assistance. Once you have an email Push-enabled compatible BIS data plan on your BB (fees regardless of your carrier will charge, btw), your exclusive services BB will work (for example, you will have a staff/Internet Email added to the email Setup Wizard, your BBM will work, etc.).

With hundreds of carriers in the world, each with dozens of different data plans it is impossible to say that any plan service could actually expressly provide for. Only carriers can answer this question. The best thing to do is to decide what services you want and then talk to your carrier about obtaining a data plan that allows what you want (to them).

    Good luck!

BlackBerry told me that I should be able to visualize videos, and that a fix should be out.  I am able to play the sample video that has been loaded on my new phone to factory... it looks great.

OK, if your want to put videos on your storm of DVDs or videos that you have downloaded, you'll need a program called Handbrake (just google it) it's free.

the video must be in mp4 format and screen size 480 x 360.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones missed calls icon BlackBerry 8800

Hi everyone, I hope that someone else has had this problem before.

I 880 BlackBerry handset which has 6 missed calls, showing on the top of the home screen, but I deleted all phone logs and missed calls as described elsewhere in these forums.

Anyone know how to clear this? It's incredibly frustrating!

    Thank you

    Carl

    Hello

Wipe the call log database fomr the handset using Desktop Manager

    Backup/restore - advanced - Phone Call Logs - clear.

If the phone call log is gray, plugged in the Dungeon of the HH and go to Options (key) - Advanced - service book and delete the desktop computer [book of synchronization service}.

Now wil Options can be highlighted and you can disable the selected database option.

  • Real doozy of blackBerry Smartphones has a problem

Greetings to you. I hope this message finds you well.

I need some help with a problem that has just recently.  I literally spent all day looking for and trying solutions and nothing has solved the problem.  Until about 2 weeks ago, I was with XP Pro, but went to 64-bit Vista Ultimate on a new computer laptop. I was able to install and use the Blackberry Desktop Vista software with no problems after installation... until yesterday.  When I plugged the BB Storm to my laptop, the laptop has recognized the BB, but BB Desktop does not.  I tried all the obvious things like another usb port, a usb cable, hard to start two devices, uninstall BB Desktop and relocation, checks the parameters of mass storage USB Port, authorization rights, by running as an administrator and so on.  I tried to disable UAC, check connection options, run 4.7 instead of 5 and so on.  I can't BB Desktop to recognize that the BB is attached. On XP, I had this problem once or two, but a reboot took care of the issue.  Unfortunately, I absolutely need to be able to synchronize appointments with Outlook and other documents, so it is important that a solution.  If anyone can help me, please let me know.  Thank you so much in advance. -TMreth

I want to thank all of you who responded to my call for help.  I finally just to load Win 7 (RTM - no Release Candidate), dumping Vista well.  It seems to be a behavior itself and is synchronization and recognizing the BB.  I wonder if it would make any difference to go online to download the vs disk software.  My husband had a similar problem with his BB and since we went with Win 7, there was no problems. (shrug)  Again, I'd be curious to know why I suddenly started having the problem in the first place.

I'd love to give you guys well done, but I can only do if the suggestions do not solve the problem? -TMreth
