BlackBerry Smartphones New User: Questions about the internal clock synchronization, software updated

Hellko Forum.

For two weeks, I use a Blackberry Bold 9900 with OS7.1 and I am very satisfied with the device.

But there are some questions for which I have found no solution:

(*) Looking back at my old Siemens S10D or SK65, they had an option to synchronize the internal clock with time of the GSM network information. Will there be a similar option in the Bold 9900? What I found was an option in the date and time settings. But when I put "Government aktualisieren" (setting the time) on 'automatic' then time switches to October 5, 2013, 12:20 and nothing happens. Is it possible to connect to an NTP server? If so, where to enter the address?

(*) On this Web page http://de.blackberry.com/software/smartphones/update/blackberry7-os.html?LID=de:bb:support:update - of... Describes how to upgrade the software of the smartphone "over the air". But I can't find this option. Where the developer has hidden this feature?

Thanks a lot for the answers in advance

Best regards

JueDan

I'm under BlackBerry Desktop Manager 5.0.1.37 and turned off the option "Reconcile E-mails" and "Email" is not mentioned in "Set up Sync". I have an out business BlackBerry data plan with my carrier. My computer is running XP PRO sp3 and Office 2007 is installed my question is how can I synchronize messages sent from my Bold 9700 in Outlook 2007? Thank you in advance.

An alternative (for me) would be to * always and automatically * send a bcc to a specifc all my sent messages.

I can't find this option in the documentation.

    Are there?

Yes, in your BIS account for this email address configuration. Change the configuration and at the bottom, you will see a checkbox automatically BCC messages.

Then, on your Outlook, you can set a filter for incoming messages of yourself to be re-directed to your sent folder.

Secondly, how can I set up a speed dial key to add the phone number with a delay, then a box mailbox and password to make it easy to get a work voicemail messages?  You must have a way... All help apprecated.

I don't know what you mean by "appendices".

You can create a contact phone number will contain a break, then continues the other numbers and then wait for a click from you and then continues again.

    from the home screen:
phone application > menu > help > phone basics > make a call > tasks > add a pause or a wait to a phone number

  • BlackBerry Smartphones new user of BB - 2 Questions

Question 1- I can't access my voicemail by pressing '1 '. When I press and hold "1", it asks if I want to assign a speed dial. The only way I found to access my voicemail is highlighted in any number, ranging from in the call log in the Menu and then I can call voicemail from there. I bought this phone from someone and they already had a set number of Speed Dial to '1' which I was able to remove. How can I add my voicemail on speed dial? Is there another way to access the mailbox other than what I mentioned above?

Question - 2 My sister called me work and I want to add this number to the contact. I got a Razr before this phone and I was able to just click on that number and select the option 'add a contact '. I don't see where this phone will allow me to do, another that enter it manually in the address book and edit its contact page to add his work number. Is this fair?

Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Thank you very much for the help!

The instructions in the link to fix the box voice speedial was a little too, lol. So I didn't remove the battery, put it in and my voicemail is automatically assigned to the speedial #1.

In regard to the second question concerning the addition of a number of the call for an existing contact log, I guess that's impossible. I looked through the manual and it did not find anywhere. Well.

    Thanks again for the help!

  • Applications blackBerry Smartphones to be recorded in the internal storage card or media other than RAM.

    Hi guys,.
IAM hrdware configuration set with hand torch
    512 MB of RAM
    4 GB of storage internal

If I install any appps blackberry app world are those get saved in the RAM memory, which reduces the speed of the aircraft, to help me how do to install applications to the media card or internal storage

    Thank you best regards &,.
    Sandra

    Hello!

There are three types of potential memory on a BB: 1) application memory, the device memory) 2 and 3) Media/SD Card Memory.

Application memory - it is the most important; It is protected (not available to the user), dedicated and (fixed size) space as the destination for the installation of applications (more a few storage applications, overhead and other costs). You can't touch AppMemory. You cannot improve the maximum AppMemory that your BB has. It is what it is. Applications can install only here... There is no other choice.

The device memory - it is space on your BB you can touch these files, images, media, etc. In general, it is not very big, but it is available.

Memory card SD/Media- is what it says... your SD card to store files, media, photos, etc.. It can be as large as your BB OS can support... see this KB:

    • KB05461 Sizes of card MicroSD taken in charge by the BlackBerry device software

On some devices/OS levels, you can see 'Free file' (Options > status), I think this is equivalent to AppMemory. You can see on other devices, all the memory usage levels three (Options > memory). Here are some tips to use:

    • KB02843 What is the function of low memory manager on the BlackBerry smartphone
    • KB14320 How to maximize space and power battery life on the BlackBerry smartphone
    • KB14213 Call logs, SMS text and email messages are deleted from the BlackBerry smartphone

Finally, it is always important to correctly close applications when you are finished with them. Using the back or on the red button won't do that - those leave the app to decide what to do... and some let themselves memory-resident, consumes resources on your BB, slowing down the overall performance. On the contrary, to close an application, tap on and select 'Close' or 'Quit'... which force the application to be closed, freeing resources for your new use it consumed. Some applications will always be running (in general - BBMessenger, browser, homescreen, phone and Messages)... but, you should always close them properly - especially the browser... If we leave on a web page, it will not consume only additional resources, but the power of the battery as well.

In addition, each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy. Some have taken to do this on a regular basis as a preventive measure... some as often as once a day. Others got the app QuickPull to automate a simulated Batt Pull.

    Good luck!

  • Satellite L850-Y3110 - Question about the international warranty

I bought a portable Satellite L850-Y3110 in India that has an international warranty.
There is a problem with it now, it's the cd drive is broken and I took it to an authorized to Newcastle service center.

Need the driver cd to replace, but now Im says that Toshiba usually give the cause of the part I did not but he to the United Kingdom, and the person told me to go back to the place where I bought and the fix here, I won't go there any time soon, so it's out of the option.

My question is what is the point of the international interest if it won't be such an inconvenience.

When I bought a laptop that I wanted one that would guarantee internationally because Im student out of the country for education, that's why I bought this one because it has international warranty and my laptop is still under warranty international.

    What should I do now?

    Hello

I m not very well on portable computers sold in India, but cell phones sold in Europe are covered with at least 1 year standard warranty, valid from the date of purchase
    http://www.Toshiba.EU/services/standard-warranty/

This warranty does not cover repairs in other countries, but in case of hardware malfunction, you must visit the authorized service provider in the country where you made the purchase.

To get the international warranty coverage you must buy an extended international warranty: details here http://www.toshiba.eu/services/warranty-extension/

In the case where the international interest has been registered for your laptop, the ASP to the United Kingdom should be able to repair the laptop in international warranty conditions.

  • Blackberry blackBerry Smartphones new user... not so happy with the storm so far

Recently, I upgraded my LG Storm for the Blackberry Storm, and he received the day after Christmas.  I spent all night on the phone with Verizon customer service trying only why my phone keeps restarting and stopping himself.  This was even after I download Blackberry Desktop and put Manager upgraded to the new software.  Verizon's CS could not understand why this has happened and shipped me another one which is schduled to arrive not later than Tuesday.  Im a bit annoyed because I originally for the curve but I knew that the curve had been out for a while and I wanted to not Verizon to go out with the curve of new and improved (8900) because I would not like that... lol... and I got the storm to an as much (149.00) I could not beat this price.  When the phone has not been rebooted itself with that I managed to play it a little bit and it is really easy to use outside the switching of the letters and numbers when text mode n landscape.  Bus, aside from that, the email and myspace for mobile installation was child's play.  I hope the next I get works or well I will return it for the curve.  If anyone has heard or have lived this restart/stop function let me know...

sincerely for the time being not happy with user of storm

You do not have to have an account or access to the BIS server - but if you do, you can do things like send your service books or the program installation/change on your BB email accounts without having to call your service provider (i.e. Verizon).  Account e-mail setup/changes can be done form the device but I don't know a way to return the service form books the unit itself - I think that you are only option are access via the BIS site I've provided or call the technical support of your provider.

  • BlackBerry smartphones a few questions on the Torch 9800

a friend recently gave me her old flame and I wiped it created a new BBID and deleted reinstalled BBM and it still does not work, I don't have a data plan but bbm should work on my home network. Another thing when adding an email, how do you find the "password for activation" this is my email password... any help would be appreciated

    Hi James Gover.

I was a fanatic user of Torch 9800, 9810 (very similar), so I hope to be useful.

    • to open your mailbox, of course you need his password. Otherwise, someone could connect to it, which would be absurd.
    • If I were you, I wouldn't delete BBM: it's an integrated application. But normally, it is possible to re - download from BB world. I understand that you have done this. I tried to configure BBM with a friend who was a BB user, but we have no success. I admit that it is a relatively complicated application.

    -Solutions:

    1. First, do a format of all the data on the BlackBerry. Before that, make sure that you have made a backup; You can do this with BlackBerry Desktop Software for Mac or Windows 7.1, which you can find on the BB site (Software section of the home screen). So yes, format. In: Options/Security/safety cleaning (if I translate well to the french).
    2. Ask your provider or operator. In my case, I had a basic membership for this BlackBerry and an additional option (and even today still with a better subscription) "Option BlackBerry" for anything over the phone and SMS, so exactly BlackBerry Messenger and e-mail, at a cost of CHF 10. -

After having done these two things, I think you'll be ready!

  • BlackBerry smartphones what to do about the 'unread' emails on the phone I already read on my desktop?

    Hi all

I'm having a problem with my e-mail alerts.  New emails from the fine phone and timely. However, once I read OR delete email on my desktop computer, emails remain as "unread" on my phone.  Any suggestions?

Unfortunately, you still have me given very little info in order to answer your question.  There are only a few e-mail platforms that get the full two-way synchronization on a BlackBerry.  Gmail, Yahoo!, Hotmail and BES (BlackBerry Enterprise Server) will give the full two-way synchronization.  If it's another type of configuration, including Outlook Web Access then you will get sync reads/deletes the mailbox on your handheld

  • BlackBerry Smartphones to transfer files from the internal memory to the PC, Bold 9900

I have a video recorded on my internal memory and want to transfer them to my PC, but cannot figure out how?

Hello and welcome to the community!

For me, the mass storage Mode is the simplest method to achieve:

    • KB29523 How to manually transfer files between a BlackBerry smart phone and a Windows computer

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones new - help! put the word on BB doc

so, I think that Word to Go is all set on my new BlackBerry Storm. It opens. I can't start a document in it even if - is that correct? So, how can I get a document from my computer on the BB? I clicked on save as on the computer, but does not see the BB as a place to record in. I have not yet created my email account, so I have not tried to send an email to myself. (It is another matter, I don't know how to set up unless I get emails I want but not hundreds, but I think I know how to do this)

I got a little worried because when I opened the Manager and went to the applications thing there was a bunch of stuff checked (I haven't checked) and that he was going to be deleted. My mistake. I guess that's not where to go on Office Manager top of page for a word doc?

    Thank you!!

What model do you have, and what version of operating system do you use? You can find both in Options | Everything.

In fact, it must have at least version 4.5, if you have Documents to Go on the device. You buy the paid version of Documents to Go to create files Office on the BlackBerry. With the version supplied with 4.5 OS, you can open and edit documents.

Once you have your e-mail configuration, you can send the file to your person and on the open BlackBerry and download the file. Or if your device has allowed to mass storage Mode, the BlackBerry will appear as an additional drive letter when it is connected to your computer. So, you can simply drag and drop files to and from the BlackBerry.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones New - fatal error during the first update by using the Office Manager phone

During my first update using the Desktop Manager, there were 13 steps, and I had to unplug to half way through.

Now when I try to repeat the process, the update gets steps 1-6 and just after reconnecting to JVM (step 6) I get a "fatal error update device software, please try again" I tried several times and it always stops in the same place.  The phone then has the radio turned off, and I have to restore the connections.

I'm not an irritable person, so any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you!!!

Never disconnect during an update. Never.

This is therefore a new phone, follow the instructions below.

First, remove the battery from the BlackBerry when lit, to subject a minuite, replace and see if it restarts. If this is not the case, continue below.

First find your operator and the system operating file that you want to use.
    http://NA.BlackBerry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp

Make a backup of your device first, using Desktop Manager > backup. Close the office at the end Manager.

    1. download the OS files to the PC then install on the PC by running (double click) the downloaded file.
    2. go in c:\program files Research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
    3. plug in the BB and double-click on "Loader.exe." It is located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.
