BlackBerry Smartphones Priv backup Contacts on Google

Hello everyone

I use a Blackberry since 2002, but clearly have some gaps in my understanding of technology!  At the moment I have to go to the help of my beautiful PRIV and transferred my 2000 + contacts from my old to my new Priv Q10 I don't use my head.  When the choice to import my contacts from Google - I chose to make them all "local contacts" only - since I used an Office Outlook rather than Gmail and didn't know that I would now have no way to back up my contacts.  Now, I want to download the new OS - but don't want to do until I backed up my device - especially my Contacts.  How can I move all of my current contacts to Google (who doesn't have a few contacts inside) and save my PRIVATE.  A big thank you to those who help with entry. GigiatTO

If I understand correctly you have all your contacts on your PRIVATE, right?

First you'll need a google account , and I guess you have already.

Go to the Contacts app

You should see your contacts list and category "Local Contacts" should be displayed above.

Tap 3 dots (...) in the upper right corner

Select import/export

Now tap export to storage

Confirm the operation.

Now, your contacts are saved in the internal memory of your PRIV.

You will need to "file manager" see/find this file, or you can connect your PRIVATE to your PC and copy that newly created... file .vcf on your desktop.

That you have copied this file to your PC

Open the browser and go to google.com

In search type: google contacts

Click on the link and enter your credentials if requested

Once there, on the left side you should see button 'more '.

When you click on it, there will be more options and you need to ' import/export '.

He points to your file saved on the PC and it will start to transfer your information.

* Some people have a lot of elements saved in contacts, such as date of birth, address, info from facebook, and so on.  I don't know how much info will get transfer, but should phone numbers and name.

If you want to read their content, you will need to find applicaitions to third parties, like the ABC Amber BlackBerry Converter.

I just got a new unlocked AT & T PRIVATE today on Amazon, and the screen makes a rattling noise when they are hit.  On the web, there are a lot of people reporting a similar issue, suggesting turn the phone to try to fix it.  This has not worked for me.

Is it just a matter of getting a bad or a phone that has not been produced recently? Or PRIVs all will have this problem, even if they are not immediately, because of poor design or manufacturing?

  • BlackBerry Smartphones lost all contacts during software update

Hey I've just updated v4.6 on my "BOLD" and now I can not find my contacts... info calendar and Outlook still there but all my contacts were lost... Help!

    Thank you

    Hello and welcome!

Depending on how you did the update, it may have created a backup file on your PC. If you did the update via attached USB on your PC (for example, no OTA), search your hard drive for a file with an extension of the RPI (*.ipd). Inspect the results (date/time of the file) and choose the one to use in the restore. Then, run the DTM software and perform a selective restore:

If you update OTA or skipped the backup office during the update, then I'm sorry for your loss, but there is nothing to do.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones PRIV locked - unable to access with original pattern.

    Hi team,

I recently bought a Blackberry Priv and installation the Google account on this topic for a few days. Things worked well and have set up a scheme for the phone lock.

However, one night, the phone rebooted and I am unable to connect to the phone with the boss. I tried to reset the device via the Google Android Device Manager, but it says unable to communicate with the phone. From the looks of it the Priv is not connected to the internet (worked fine before). The phone is now displayed in the model to unlock the screen and so called ' emergency calls' and 'To launch Android, draw your pattern' but I am unable to connect using the previous model, I have set up.

    Please notify. Thank you.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Priv: Updated Android OS how much?

    Hello.

I am interested in buying a Blackberry priv.

However, the Android OS updates are important to me.

I see the Priv comes with L and is now extensible m. of specific plans to provide N for the Priv?

Well if it takes until next year some time. But to find out what it certainly is, frankly, the difference between buying an or not.

Any info, guess or otherwise he rejoice greatly

As a side note, I believe that there is a gap in the market here for Blackberry. At the current stage, Apple are always updated the OS on their phones/tablets dating back to 2012 (iPhone 5). Four years of OS updates! The closest I've seen in the world Android is the features of Google that are guaranteed three versions of Android - that they ship with and two other + security updates.

If Blackberry could match updates features of Google (at least three) or even better, to match Apple, Blackberry Android device to its original investment seems excellent quality / price.

    What are your thoughts?

No, Google just guarantee 24 months of updates of new major versions of Android. A friend uses a Nexus 5 without brand, but will I not Nougat Android. It receives security updates (and about 1-2 weeks before I get them on DTEK50), but we are both using Marshmallow for the moment.

Another thing to consider is the fact that "Powered by Android BlackBerry" is not original Google Android. They have made many changes to make it much safer. It must first be converted to the new version of Android before it can be published. Waiting for Alcatel operate on the DTEK50 (which is almost an Idol 4) won't be enough. Updated the PRIV is even more complex because no partner will help the material part of the new programming software.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones SMS Backup-able?

Hello. I had a BB Bold 9650 for six weeks, and the 'o' key is out.  Verizon sent me a new free, but I have text messages that I really want to keep.  If I do a backup of my phone, which will exclude my texts or is it possible to save them for the transfer?

I am open to any downloadable software, with which I can save my texts.  But I checked my options in the SMS section and the inside of the text itself, and there seems to be no way to save these texts is to the card by e-mail, the PC or the media.

Would appreciate any input from anyone before I go ahead and switch phones.  I have maybe just live without "O" key and keep my existing phone.  Sounds crazy, I know, but I really want to save these.  There should be a way to save and transfer all back to the new, I hope.  Searched the web for two hours looking for it but no luck so far.  Thanks for any help you can offer.

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

If you are always two devices by hand, then you can use the switch device Wizard:

    • KB16291 How to use the switch device Wizard to switch to a new BlackBerry smartphone

Honestly I don't positive how specifically manages the SMS, but there are sections of your user manual that discussing it... You should also check here.

Also, you can manually back up your SMS database, and then I guess that try to restore:

  • BlackBerry Smartphones want backup of my contacts from phone in xls format.

    HII

I am a new Member and this is my 1st post. I have Blackberry 8800 and I have more than 1500 contacts saved in my 8800 but now I recently bought Blackberry Pearl 3 G. So now now I think to take backup of contacts stored in my 8800 instead to save contacts manually in my new Pearl 3 G, so that after a while I can import the contacts from my new Pearl 3 G.

Then, everyone here, please help what and how I can do as requested above?

    Hello poojaagrawal979!

You compatible with software because there is an amazing software called Zebrost software directory with backup as one of its features.

If you are compatible with the software, install Blackberry App World zebrosr. Zebrost directory can be used parellely with our native directory.

Its free and very easy to use.

After the installation of Zebrost, follow the procedure next-

    1. go to your list of contacts in zebrost, click on the menu.

    2. Select Advanced Zebrost Options.

    3. Select Select backup take via zpb server.

    4. it will ask for your e-mail address, enter your email address where it will provide your backup in xls format. Due to xls, you can also filter option.

    5. less than a minute, it will provide you with unique 19-digit. Save this number.

    6. so that whenever you want to import your backup in the BB Pearl 3 G, you need to enter the unique number.

    7. to import contacts, you need to install Zebrost in your BB Pearl 3 G also.

    8. If you want to import the backup of contacts, go to Menu > Advanced Option > import backup > Zpb Server > 19 digit unique number (that you obtained when taking backup).

  • BlackBerry Smartphones PRIV - Notes will not save text up to the first synchronization

I have a Priv of Blackberry that is synched to Office Outlook 2013 professional my desktop, running on Microsoft Exchange.

A month ago I started having problems with the synchronization of Notes between my mobile and Outlook.  It seems that any text I key in a Note on my private will be kept until the first synchronization with Outlook, if yes or no I typed 'Done '.  Can I add text to a note for a long period of time and wait until I'm completely done for tap 'Done' or tap "Done" after a short period of time and then come back in the Note to continue editing.  It does not matter.  No matter what the text has been given in the first few minutes (up to what I assume is the first synchronization) is the only text that will be retained.

I don't have a problem with whole Notes that are created on my desktop is properly synchronized to my priv.

I have no problems with Mail, calendar, Contacts or tasks synchronization.

My synchronization interval is set to "automatic (Push).

While responding not to the root cause, I seem to have a solution.

As a first step, our technology people suggested I have delete the account and add it in again.

That seems to have done the trick.  Since last night, all my Outlook applications are synchronization correctly, in both directions

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Priv - unable to read my SD card of 128 GB mp4 files

I transferred my MP4 files to my 128GB SD card to save space on the main memory using a direct USB connection on my windows 10 desktop...

Playing MP4 is not a problem as the Blackbery sample plays of the device itself.

I tried to download a certain android MP4 players since the game of Google, which no I can't go to work.

The problem is that for most applications are hard coded only for play from the main unit or a specific directory of the SD.  I found the one that supposedly allows a custom driectory but would not accept any input except "SD card" that points to the main storage area and is therefore unnecessary.  Some have "Sdcard1" as a choice that does not work either.

The essence of the problem is that the path on the private name includes "SD card" (that I can see in my windows login).  The path to the extra space between the SD and the card is not recognized by applications.  I see no way to solve this problem yet and I don't know it this is problem Priv, or an android problem or a problem of SD card.

Some suggestons or workarounds will be welcome.

    Thank you.

Well guess what, I found a better way to fix my problem.  I thought I had fixed it, but when I turned off my private and then once again, he lost all directories, and when I deleted music apps, my music has also disappeared.  In any case what I ended up doing use Google game no download Google play first:

    (1) I found an option in the itunes program on my PC to view the directories/files in itunes and works.

    (2) I have connected my Priv to my PC with a USB cable, and then made a directory called music in my SD of private card - but not as a subdirectory under another directory.

    (3) I then copied all the directories with music from itunes files to the directory of the music on my SD card.

    (4) I exported playlists from itunes to a temporary directory that I created on my PC desktop.  For this I've done for each playlist and saved as a file of type .mu3 (there is an option to do this in itunes).

    (5) I copied these files mu3 in the directory of the music on my SD card - they can be subdiectories on the SD card as the muuic is.

    (6) I leave the Google game program re-index the music and playlists, and now it works like a charm.

I intend to do something similar for my videos.

I hope this helps and I hope Blackberry finally creates a link for its android phones program or add this feature to the existing one.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Priv is originally my router to restart

After some troubleshooting, I saw clearly that on my wireless network (I.e. by opening a browser or start a search 'Google OK', etc.) using my private will be my router disconnect from the internet and to go through a reset.

I can tell what's happening by observing my router using priv. First light "not connected to the internet" will activate and then go further (as the connection is entirely lost), because then my power led will indicate that the router is set to zero.

I've never seen my router to do this, and I can watch the process comes before my eyes the moment I try to use my private on my wireless network. It is a direct, empirical cause and effect.

The only downside is that it is not a 100% failure rate, but when he doesn't he's timed exactly to my priv.

    Priv - STV100-3 model

Router - Wireless router D-link AC1750 dual band Gigabit Cloud (DIR - 868L)

OK... I have a PRIVATE well, it is not cause of my router restart. You are the first report I've seen on this within two months, that the device has been out.

Still not answering the question, however. -What is the firmware of the router to update? I'll assume that this is because it's the first thing we need to do when there is a problem like that.

The other thing I've seen to help with glitches as it is to make a backup of the configuration of the router then reset the default router and see if the problem persists.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Priv calendar reminder dismissal or removal

As far as I can see, when you put in place an event in calendar of Priv, there is the possibility to select a reminder.  When you choose a reminder, it is possible to change this reminder by choosing one of the many options of time.

The question I have is that it doesn't seem to be a way to delete this reminder once it has been implemented.  Of course, once can sweep the reminder on when it appears on the phone, but the reminder remains within the event.

The problem is that the recall continue to be picked up during synchronization to another device (in my case, my laptop).  This means that a reminder may appear on the laptop in Outlook and can reject it in Outlook.  Instead being the end of the matter, the private calendar then immediately synchronizes to Outlook and re-inserts the reminder in Outlook, effectively undoing any dismissal made from Outlook.  The end result of which is endless Windows Outlook reminder pop-up every few seconds on the laptop.

According to the suppliers of Akrutosync, this can be solved by deletion, not to dismiss the reminder on the Priv as dismissing the reminder in Outlook.

So my question is: how to remove a reminder of calendar on Priv?  In contrast to the calendar within other Smartphones from BlackBerry, there is no option to reset the reminder for "no reminder" in the private calendar.  Once you set a reminder, we're stuck with a reminder.

It's so simple that there must be an answer, but I'm not and there is nothing in one of the support resources online BlackBerry Priv who said anything on the subject.

    Hello
I use the calendar with Exchange Server 2016. When I don't want to set a reminder I choose 0 Minutes. In Outlook, the recall shows with 'None '.
BTW, Outlook also features 0 Minutes. If this value is set, privs calendar shows 1 Minutes.
If the Option 'None' is defently lack in the pirvs calendar.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones DELEATING ALL CONTACTS ON THE PHONE LIST

Is it possible to remove the entire list of contacts in my address on my bb8110 box?

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Caller ID contacts Blackberry Q10.

    Hi all

I recently got a Blackberry of Q10 to test our society.

    Here I used a BB Bold 9900.

I used BB Protect and Blackberry Desktop to make a form of backup the 9900.

Then I restored everything and everything is very good and works perfectly.

The only problem is when someone form the old form of contacts the BB9900 I restored it to give me a call, I do not see a caller ID. And when somebody that I added on the Q10 give me a call I see the caller ID.

Does anyone have a solution for this?

Sorry for my bad English (it is not my native language)

    -Thanks Vincent.

    Hello! You are welcome.

I checked online and it had the same questions about the peripheral BB10 running previous software. I guess it's a question about this specific operating system.

I suggest you upgrade your operating system to 10.2.0.1047
