BlackBerry Smartphones remove a web link on home screen icon

Hi all

I downloaded a few applications that I could find were demos of games, but turned to be just links to the site Web. It was basically just a ploy to get additional income, which I suppose is their prerogative, but I found the label to mislead. In any case, I now want to delete these 'demos', but I can't figure out how. The selection menu will not let me delete icon (it may be hidden, but I not gone), and they are available in Configuration of him--> Applications. They also do not appear in App World, so I can't archive/delete them from there. I have worked on this for a while now, nothing helps. Any thoughts?

Phone: Bold 9700

OS: 5.0.0.351

Carrier: Rogers Wireless

Thank you

~ Dom

Where did you downloaded from?

Could they be the shortcuts of typical installation service pushed books? Look at the Options > Advanced > Service books. You see there?

  • BlackBerry smartphone WiFi does not disappear on home screen

This problem started with me last night. I have a Bold 9700, 5.0.0.59 version 3. I turned on WiFi to connect to my home wireless network. Once I had finished work, I disabled the WiFi of the device in connection management and uncheck WiFi. The problem is that the WiFi symbol is not going away from the home screen, even after the WiFi has been disabled. This was not the case even a few days back. Any suggestions on how to disable this option? Thank you.

Confirm again once you have disabled WiFi.

You see the screen in bright white or grey top WiFi logo?

If she stays on the home screen, try a reboot on your device > phone smart BlackBerry turned on, remove the battery for a minute and then reinsert the battery to restart.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones why my livelihood of the home screen messages in the process of disappearance (SMS, missed calls, etc.)?

My messages, all other next to the e-mail, because I have not yet implemented, just keep disappearing.  I have the theme of the home screen that displays messages, calendar, call log, and applications.  The messages section shows me when I have a missed call or text or something like that... but for some reason, I go back to my phone and I do not see who called or texted.  The messages section of the home screen is blank and if I select and go to my App messages, there are only 3 registered and 2 are BlackBerry April 25 and July 30, only appears from my boss on 5 August.  The only reason why I can not even imagine still appears so is because she too has a blackberry.  I don't know, but it really starts to aggravate the crap out of me.  Someone knows how to help?

I went to the General Options messages and ensures that all calls are sent to messages and call log.

Oh yes!  The call log does not nothing either.  It's ridiculous!

To please help because I love this phone, it does not work to the maximum but it's disappointing.

This has been asked before and solved... you have a problem of memory... you must have at least 12 MB of free space for the phone works smothly. If you have not yet get a memory card and move your photos and videos on memory card. and ringtones downloaded... to find out what the status of your file is click on options of--> the situation and see what your file free it is another thing that could help is to do a battery pull, then do step above... Also make sure you have all internet programs running in the background IE: weatherbug... it causes continually downloads of data... clear your browsing history by going to a browser opened by clicking on menu, then options and then cache and clear your history... There are other measures to help, but I don't see any at the present time...

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Appworld not appearing on the home screen

I am currently using a Blackberry Curve 9300 3 running on os 6 (6.0.0.448) and every time I have download Appworld, it does not appear on my home screen. It started when I upgraded BB Appworld

    Please be aware,

1.I have clicked on the button "Show all" and it does not appear

    2. I checked in all folders.

    3. several reinstalations, but no positive results

    4. several device restarts / battery/tire factory restarts have been tempted, but no positive results

    5. when I look under application management, Blackberry Appworld (3.1.4.25) IS installed

It seems that others have this problem as well, but someone knows how to solve this problem! (It also seems that RIM has no suggestion on its help desk page)

Much appreciated, this has caused me so much frustration.

    Yes, I have.
But it seems that the I found the way to solve this problem by myself. And I hope this will help others.
    1. downgrade your device
    2. download Blackberry Appworld
    3. (updated all the apps that have had the same problem)
    4. update your device
    5. your device will now Appworld and all the other apps that had conflicting problems.

It turns out that downgrade your device would force allows you to install an older version of App World (which will work). After the upgrade of your device (which will install a new fresh OS) App World will be updated as well in a State where she works on the device without any problems. You can now use App World to download all the other apps that had the same problems.
Please keep in mind, I used DM to downgrade and improve

It turns out that I am the first to solve this problem, same RIM had no idea (on their BB help section)
If you encounter the same problems do not hesitate to contact me to solve your problems.

  • Toggle to screen of blackBerry Smartphones between the clock and the home screen

    Hello

When I connect my "BOLD" to my computer via USB, the computer detects quickly and then disconnects (BB screen switches between charge/clock display and the bb homescreen) and this repeats until I have unplug it.  In addition, he was never able to connect via bluetooth, even if I have another phone and mouse that are bluetooth, who have never had a problem - the one with a similar prob?

Hey Jmrmb80, you will never believe this - cord USB I used was the question!  I looked at the gauge/side printed on the stock power cord and it matched that of the cord I was using, so I thought that there should not be a difference (even thought the stock of bb usb wire is thicker) but when I went to the line stock everything was fine.  No more probs

That's what I just tried and the address book came under a different theme. I ended up restoring my defaults theme, and she came back to the top. Now, I just reset everything I had. Thank you very much!

I upgraded to BB App World to 1.0.35 my BB 9630 Tour of US Cellular v5.0.0484 running. I looked in the download folder, the apps folder and any other folder icon I have on my phone just for the family doctor who is important, but can not find the BB App World icon. Under Apps, it says it is installed. I deleted and reinstalled several times and did a battery pull VS a restart more than 10 times. The only thing I have not done is format the phone.

  • BlackBerry smartphones, remove the "BOLD" Sprint 9650 identifiers

I have an old 9650 "BOLD" that was initially linked to the Sprint network.  I ordered a new SIM from Mobal international SIM card and now my 9650 has successfully used two local GSM providers (AT & T and T-Mobile) and managed to make phone calls.

When the phone starts up, it always says Sprint and shows my old sprint phone number which is not the same as the number assigned to my new SIM card.  Is there a way to remove this information and or wipe clear my BB to his "original non-Sprint State.

    Thank you

Hello and welcome to the community!

This initial carrier 'splash screen' is hard coded and cannot be changed. When the devices are manufactured, they are made for a specific carrier... and some of these companies have deals where this start screen is included. But it doesn't mean anything... If your device is carrier/MEP unlocked, then the splash screen shows just what the VendorID of the device (which is initially made for carrier). Unlocked is unlocked, regardless of the start screen (but you cannot change the home screen... it is permanent).

In regards to displayed phone number, see:

It might be that Sprint and/or from your current provider or do something on their networks... but you would need to enquire with them. Move a CDMA device to a non-CDMA service can be difficult, with many of the latent unexpected results (like this one). You can also find other useful KBs on point... you need to search for more.

    Good luck!

  • Deploy an icon on the BlackBerry smartphone to a web application or URL

    Hello

I want to deploy an icon on the BlackBerry for a web application is home.  When the user click on this icon, I automatically want to launch my web app (URL).

    I found this article:

    http://www.BlackBerry.com/knowledgecenterpublic/livelink.exe/fetch/2000/348583/800708/800655/How_To _...

And I read about 'push channel browser', which seems to do exactly what I want to do:

    http://www.BlackBerry.com/knowledgecenterpublic/livelink.exe/fetch/2000/7979/1181821/832210/Developi...

I did a test with my Blackberry that is connected to a BES, and it works very well using the code example.

My question is this, 'channel browser push' can be used for Blackberry that is not configured in our BES.

For example, I want to be able to deploy an icon on the Blackberry from customers and suppliers we have, but these Blackberries are not related at all our BES or network.

Is it possible to do this?  If so, should I do something special to make it work?

If not, does that mean my only solution is to create a Java application that automatically launch the browser Blackberry (second option from the first link)?

    Thanks for your help!

Channel browser push you make reference to requires the user is on a BlackBerry Enterprise Server.

The alternatives to this is a Java application (as you have discovered), BlackBerry Widget or Signal of Web.  Web signals is the equivalent to a BlackBerry Internet Server Browser channel thrust.

BlackBerry Widget SDK (applications requires a BlackBerry 5.0 device software)
