  I recently bought a DTEK50, but cannot find a way to transfer my contacts from my Z10 on the DTEK50. Just so you know: there is no exchange, no service cloud servers, no outlook.com. just Windows 7 (64-bit) and a wifi and a USB connection. Any ideas or suggestions?

  Replace the instructions appropriate for your other device instead of the transmitter unit KB section in the KB. Do not jump 'BT help to receive' step on the BB receiver... nothing will transfer if you do.

  Weird. I thought I posted a follow-up. I wanted to move the contacts you want to synchronize with my Gmail / Google Apps account here, that's how I got it working:

  Download the free "ABC Amber Blackberry Editor" (not to be confused with ABC Amber Blackberry Converter, I paid $19.95 for which it did not help) among Free Download ABC Amber BlackBerry Editor, edit contacts in IPD files.

  Create a backup of your contacts via Blackberry Desktop Manager.

  Create a new backup (via the backup and restore-> advanced) only on the "Address Book - All" database, and save this as a separate file, IPD.

  Clear (empty) both the 'address book' and the 'address book' all databases.

  ABC Amber Blackberry Converter, open the second IPD file and save it as an IPD file another (in hindsight, I wonder if this step is not necessary).

  Use the Fund Manager to restore from that IPD file. All contacts are now under the BIS address.

  The strange thing is though (nothing to do with my previous question), if I edit a Contact in Google Apps / GMAIL, address, city, State and zip all move in the field "address" in my BB contacts application (all on one line). I can change it back to normal (i.e. address, city, State and zip in their individual fields) on my BB, but the next time I have edit the contact in Google Apps, it goes back on a single line.

  (I BIS contact SYNC, don't use BES).

  Right. Using the feature of backup and restore in the Desktop Manager is the only option for you I think. Could not set the Desktop Manager on a shared drive that everyone has access to for them to install it?

  If you were using a BES I suggest using the BlackBerry Web Desktop Manager because you can configure it to allow anyone to access it from your intranet

  The backup file is intended to RESTORE on your device, do not for editing.

  However, other developers have created an interface to view this file.

  Google "menastep Blackberry Magic" and you can use this software on your PC.

  my photos are stored on my media card, and I can see when I go to the photo gallery. I suggest you to do two things: the soft reboot, and if it does not, the hard reboot. Don't worry, you can not lose data with these two reboots.

  Soft reboot:
  1) struck the following three keys at the same time:
  -Alt
  -Right shift
  -Remove
  (2) wait 2 minutes for the Blackberry to wake up.

  Hard reboot:
  (1) your BlackBerry smart phone is on
  (2) remove the battery and wait a minute
  (3) replace the battery
  (4) wait 5 minutes for the device to wake up.

  Please tell us if it works for you.

  We have several bold9000 in service, use of Google Desktop version 4.6

  Hi again,

  I'll answer my own question:

  in the section "Advanced" on the login screen, remove the checkbox 'use default notes.ini file', and then manually search the notes ini file that is in use on this computer. It should then automatically fill the username etc, then the ID should be automatically used (or he should be happy to accept that he refused before) and must be accepted.

  It's strange, I certainly put the user name and the server name correctly when you enter them manually. In any case, it worked.

  Unfortunately, this is not possible with the BlackBerry backup files. They can only be restored to a BlackBerry.

  Just had heavy PRIV top of page a few days ago and I'm trying to not to regret the purchase. I need help.

  For the life of me I can't find where to add a personalized ringtone or sound notification to my list of contacts other than the few that are already on the PRIVATE list. NO, don't tell me choose only those cables the list provided.

  On other Blackberry phones that I can download a sound or a song. I can't find the option for this on the PRIVATE if it is not that I'm back there. OVerpirced piece of fancy S * & %. I am beyond frustrated.

  It is very easy to set custom ringtones for each contact you want... also add any sound as a ringtone.

  Install a file manager (I use ARE), copy any wav, ogg, mp3 audio file etc to/0/ringtones
  These will be immediately available.

  in your contacts list to change any contact (pencil top right corner), then hit up 3 points to the right and "set the tone".
