BlackBerry Smartphones short message transfer rejected for Bold 9780

There is a person in my contacts that I can not text. Still, he comes up with a x red and says "transfer short message rejected". The person can still text me, however, and I have no trouble calling the number. It only occurs with this contact.

I tried to delete the contact and re - add, take out battery and sim card, but it does not work.

Can anyone help?

Hi fireflyfishing

Make sure that when you create the contact on your BlackBerry® smartphone, that their mobile phone number includes the area code.  Most providers require that the code is used when sending SMS messages.

Thank you

  • My blackberry blackBerry smartphones stops randomly! Help! Bold 9780

I have a blackberry bold 9780. I had about 6 months and no problems so far. The phone is out of warranty and what is happening is just randomly when I use my applications; for example, when I use my music player, it will play for 1 song and the 2nd song that the phone freezes. I always do a manual battery pull, but even if I do, when it starts, and just before he gets on the screen of the supplier, it will stop.

I've updated new version after that this problem only occurs in my mobile >

Now I have damage to my old version, but I still have this problem >

Sorry, but I don't understand. I gave you two things to try. The first revives a sometimes troublesome devices. The second is intended to determine if your device or your battery is the root of the problem. But, you short answer, I can deduce nothing. How, exactly, did the TWO things worked?

Via Vodafone eForum, I was told to drop the zero of my phone contacts list.  This solves the problem.  However, the same list of contacts (with leading zeros) worked well for SMS sending on my previous Blackberry 8800.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones far East language and other issues of Support for Bold 9780 - please provide your comments!

    Hello

Here is my card for your info:

BB Bold 9780 (bought 3 days ago - unlocked to carriers)

My carrier - Vodafone (Australia) - BIS active

    Computers - Macbook Pro

After some research on the web all day, I discovered that far East languages is not yet available on the Bold 9780.

I understand that I must language of d/l a far east of the carrier (mine is Vodafone Australia), in order to read and input Chinese, Japanese, or Korean language on the BB. It's extremely frustrating, and I feel that we're going backward in the field of smart phones - globalization have been an important factor for many bright smart phone users out there.

I have a few questions, I hope that you guys can provide comments:

    1. what kind of time we talk to have the language support for the far East region? I would never have bought the new BB (probably would have gone for the 9700) if I knew that East Asian languages is not available on the new BB! ?? I know that it is covered by the carriers, but surely RIM provides the build?

    2. as I am a newbie (I just 2.5 years of iPhones), I do not understand the concept (or it's documented all that clearly) to have a 5 device and software OS6? what the devil is the difference, or are they just the same? thinking, maybe this is... but why is already released OS6, but I still see the "last and best Device Software 5" throughout the site of BB? someone help me please understand this.

    3. is it possible that I can load an earlier version of the device software (Vodafone provides a Far - east Pak BB Bold 9700)? I tried several times, after running and unzipped the file in Desktop Manager, the device software is not even on my Desktop Manager (v6). is it because the Desktop Manager detects the version of my phone and does not allow vodafone to 9700 from the list of applications to load software? or does?

    4. on my MAC, I can't install the plugin App world - he says that it is not available on a Mac... How mac users supposed to do use desktop base access App World? I know that we are not a majority, but it is obsurd - that being said, I'm not unreasonable, I can live with that.

5 make BB have phone support in Australia? again, I can live with not one, but I've seen feeling is also unreasonable.

Please don't get me wrong - I could met whining - but I desperately want my new device works... I love so many things about the BB, and after taking the big step of the iphone, I find a lot of things that were never mentioned on crackberry, or any other site of fanboy of BB...

Thank you in advance, look forward to your comments!

    Hello

Okay... Let's start first... these forums are not a communication channel / rim. These forums are rather a community of support to users. RIM offers zero frontline support... all support is carried out by carriers and authorized resellers, who have the ability to escalate into WHEEL if necessary.

OK... with that of the road, we shall proceed:

Impossible for anyone here to know... or if they don't know, against the team of specialists on this site to reveal.

Another interest is the fact that, through the agent download portal for your carrier indicated, your BB model is not yet listed:

OS 6 is the next generation of BB OS (and there's even chatter on OS7 "out there"). The version the most recent supported by your operator is available via their download portal linked above (but with your conspicuous by their absence model number). OS 6 is now available for some model BBs only (I don't know if it has been released for your template declared BB). But the BONES are never published by RIM to the public... rather only to carriers who must certify and adopt an operating system and then release it to their users. The reason for this fall at the beginning of this post... they (carriers) are responsible for all support... so, they reserve the right to adopt or reject an OS that RIM just to present to them.

You can use ONLY a bundle of BONES that is your specific model BB number... nothing else will work. A 9700 isn't a 9780, so OS packages are not interchangeable. The best procedure, that I know about (upgrading, downgrading, reload) load a bundle of BONES is here:

Note that this only works on PC, Mac. But, you are not limited with this procedure, for only your carriers OS packages. You are free to use any bundle of BONES of any carrier until it's your specific model BB number. If you choose to do, then everything just insert, between steps 1 and 2, the deletion, on your PC, a file named PROVIDER. XML.

I send back you at the beginning... all support starts with your carrier.

  • Case of pocket torch blackBerry Smartphones does not work for Bold 9780

    Nice day

I bought a BlackBerry Torch 9800 (ACC32838301) Pocket case, TELUS, but it useless for my flashlight. I want my wife to use this case for his Bold 9780 but the magnet does not work by putting the camera in mode 'sleep'. Why is this? The case is a little big, but still fits well on the Bold 9780. Is the magnet misaligned a very little bit for the "BOLD"?

I use an old case of leather case that has worked for my old Curve 8330, Bold 9780 and Torch 9800. So why not this new business. Y at - it something wrong with my case specifically, or if it is not designed to work for the "BOLD"?

    Thank you.

    M.

    Hello

The placement of the magnet is different for different models of BBs. Some are interchangeable, the more I think are not. Therefore, it is always best to use a case that is made for the specific model of BB.

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry Passport help to transfer contacts from "BOLD" to my new passport

    Hi all

I was so impresed with my BB bold connected to t mobile, I went and bought a passport.  It was a rocky transition.  The easy days of bb os pocket pc 7 days are numbered.  I'm a simple average guy on the street.  As I have a week before my t mobile payment is due and that date will enable the Passport to a mobile operator.  In the meantime I found it awesomely difficult to update the passport with the news of the "BOLD".  I had to find a wifi spot for BBID log on to Passport.  Then when I got home and load BBLink software, it says the Passport is disconnected.  I can access card multimedia passport that I installed, but this card is not the contact info I want to transfer.  I had two "BOLD" and connected by USB corb the same pc WIN8.1 passport and or displayed connected.

For a moment, I saw the directory of the Passport drive appear in my repertoire of the pc, I opened and beginning hurry to do what exe to start is supposed to do and it ended in an error notification on the mixture of BB software.  How can I convince my friends that BB is superior to other phones and I can't get the Passport to behave the way I want it.

    Hello Frank

If you encounter a problem with the reception of e-mail, then try these steps in order:

1 - Save your pocket computer.

    • KB00510 : How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network
    • You expect a registration messages in your Inbox messages.

    2 send your Service book

    • KB02830 : Send service for the BlackBerry Internet Service directories
    • (Wait an Enrollment Message arrives in your Inbox for each email that you have configured on your device)

    3. and then do a restart of battery like that pull while the device is powered on remove your battery wait for a min. then reinsert back

After restarting, please check if it works.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones 10 problems and issues for the 8220

    Hiya,

I got to a point where I'm a little more frustrated on my new phone that actually enjoy it, my previous phone was a XDA Orbit running on WM5, as such, I guess I've come to expect much more than phone that's good for me...

I just got an upgrade of the O2, and since the "BOLD" was not in stock, I was sent this one.

    Anyway, here goes:

1 SMS Message-files: is there a way I can create folders for my messages? Say, for example: "SAVED-Bob", "SAVED-Steve", etc.? At the moment I don't have a main folder of the SMS display everything and really, I don't want to save the messages in the folder "Saved messages" under "Applications".

2 deleting multiple messages: according to the help by pressing alt while rolling on the messages of selects messages that I want to, then pressing the menu key, I would need to select 'delete selected messages '. Well, this doesn't seem to work. If I press the alt key everything I have will achieve is the trackball goes to the top or the bottom of the messages. Could someone point me in the right direction?

3 emails sent: why are there no 'sent' folder? I expect that, with a blackberry (which is supposed to be an office-e-mail-phone), I have a kind of box to send and sent?

memory card 4: How can I use it? The only reasonable explanation I got the phone I got a memory card has been when I took a picture and he told me that they would be stored on the MicroSD card. But how can I as a user accessing it? How can I create folders there? How can I save items such as notes out there? And if I set up a folder on the memory card with a number of word documents, PDF files and text notes, how do I access them?

    5. Security: how lock folders such as messages or send an email (let's say for the sake of the argument I want to use the same password for each of them) so that whenever I want to access my SMS messages, I need to enter a code?

6 editing: how can I change an image after I took it to a smaller size? I used TwitterBerry to upload a picture, I just took my twitter account, but it's just sitting there, download the image (which was a 1600 x 1200 image) for about 10 minutes (with connected WiFi) and did nothing.

7 overview of the message: I don't want to see the message on my phone! There is no way I can just display the "New Message" icon with the sender, but not preview of the message on the screen when the phone is closed?

8 Trackball problems: the trackball does not seem to be sitting at 100% in the middle of the cavity, instead of this he is squinted slightly to the right. It is not a huge problem, but if I see a white light shining through on the left, not the right I don't really think that it is a "function". It works and everything, but it does not appear correctly / right

9 hinge a little wobbly? The hinge has a little movement when closed (not opening), is a movement of 2mm normal?

10 backup complete phone: can I perform a full backup of my 8220 using any piece of software (the software that comes with it has not yet touched) completely back up my phone and contacts for a simple import into another Blackberry should I need to come back to this one for ad #8 #9?

Thank you all so much for your time and your help on this, I would really appreciate the phone, but for now I can't and I have already spent so much time import my contacts correctly I don't really want to consider changing phones...

    Alex

Hi and welcome to the forums!

    (1) Sms messages. You can go to the queue, options, General, options scroll down

SMS AND email inboxes: Select distinct. You will have a record for you SMS messages.

There is not a way to save the user, I know.

    (2) for 'gang' remove hold down SHIFT and defiler scroll messages, and then press DELETE.

You can also scroll to the date line, select menu deletes before. This will remove all messages before

    on the date indicated.

    (3) Please indicate if you are setting up that BES (server) or BIS (telephone).

    (4) memory card. The media files that you can put on the media card will save the memory of your device. Most

the device memory smooth your BB will run. The easiest way to manage files and data on the media

card is to use the USB cable to access the PC and BB. Open windows 'MY Computer', will come the media card

like a flash drive. You can then load the files in the directories right through the 'drag and drop '.  If you have a software for device OS 4.5 you have docs to go. This contains word and excel and powerpoint. For a good answer on how to use it, check out this link to read the Post of JERRYD:

    http://supportforums.BlackBerry.com/Rim/Board/message?board.ID=8300&message.ID=22720#M22720

    (5) you cannot lock individual records. Password, you can protect the unit.

    (6) in the camera go to options, select photo size: large, medium, small selection.

    (7) to change the external display options:

    http://www.BlackBerry.com/BTSC/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB16014&sliceId=SAL_Pub...

8 + 9) you would have to compare with the other 8220 to see if this is a normal phenomenon, I have no access to

    a 8220.

    (10) Yes, use desktop software manager to create a backup of your phone. You can either restore

the backup on the new phone, or use the wizard to transfer between two Blackberry switch device

phones. This should be in the user manual.

    User Manual:

  • HELP blackBerry Smartphones... transfer contacts

Blackberry style 9670 phone. has just been cut. no power nothing. I got a replacement phone. How to transfer my contacts because the phone is dead. Incidentally, I have blackbery protect on the dead phone. How to recover information. phone is dead... Please HELP

Hello and welcome to the community!

If the old BB is really dead, then it is not available as a source for restoring your data to your new device. Instead, you must use another source, one that you created before the old BB died.

If you made a backup of office, you can use the backup as a restore source file:

    • KB10339 How to use BlackBerry Desktop Software to restore data from a BlackBerry smartphone from a backup file

If you were synchronizing with a Desktop Organizer (for example, Outlook), then you can use that as source for restore reconfiguring the RIM Desktop software now work with your new BB:

    • KB03315 How set up the synchronisation of data using BlackBerry Desktop Software organizer

As you use BB Protect, is also an available food source:

    • KB25063 How to use BlackBerry Protect to restore data on a BlackBerry smartphone

You must be sure to connect to, on the new BB, the same BB ID that you used on the old BB. If you have already created a new ID BB on this new BB, then you go to your old ID BB:

    • KB26694 How to change the BlackBerry ID on a BlackBerry smartphone or BlackBerry PlayBook Tablet

This will allow even you to migrate other things that were on your old BB - for example, documents of purchase/download AppWorld.
