BlackBerry Smartphones small icon on the home screen

recently received a blackberry bold 9700 as a gift. noticed that a very small icon appears near the upper left-hand corner of the screen. looks like a box or a Briefcase with a red circle on the upper right corner of the icon, with a White Star or an arrow inside. its too small to say with certainty. Unable to find answers in books or online.

Help, please

Open discussion group, chat, photos, list, calendar, etc., or something has been updated with a new message or such.

The icon should then clear. This icon that has the form of a suitcase is a discussion group icon.

  • BlackBerry smartphones small icon on the home screen of browser? How can I get rid of it and what it means?

    Hey guys,.

New to the forum, but I would like to know how to remove it and what it means? It's the same when you receive a message or a sms for example at the top of the screen.

    Thank you

    ESD

It is a push browser message.  Go to the main Messages folder, and then press the BB menu key.  Select view folders and check in the folder browser Messages.  The message should be there.  You can see it, and then delete it.

    I hope that helps!

  • Yellow blackBerry Smartphones phone icon on the home screen

Hello everyone, I have a small yellow telephone with an arrow icon above on my home screen and cannot work out what it means. Any suggestions? Thank you

Last option - call your carrier and ask them if they know what it is (you may have to pass several people - each will have their own personal knowledge base and might be more willing to dig deeper than the other). I looked as well through which I can find documentation and the particular one that you describe is not listed. However, most of the documentation comes from RIM - carriers can do what they want on top of that RIM provides, so ask your carrier might be your best bet.

    Good luck!

Hi and welcome to the forums!

Go to messages, menu button, display folder

Look in each folder, including the browser Messages

and WAP push messages. Delete messages

    and the icon should disappear.

  • Smartphone blackBerry Bold 9790 icons in the home screen

I've updated my OS to 7.1.0 Bundle 2039 and I have noticed a few changes. Today my homescreen has a line of icons appeared downstairs. In the previous version, you can turn off the icons and have only a small arrow showed that you could choose to show the icons.

How to turn off the icons on the home screen?

On the features of contact you can also simply drag the bar just above the row of icons up and down.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones more information on the home screen

I'm new to blackberry and love it.  I miss having my calendar on my home screen.  Is there a way to customize the home screen?  I would like to see the upcoming calendar events and shortcuts to all the things that I use on a regular basis instead of just 6 things on the bottom.  Thanks in advance! You need a 'Today' theme of your device.

Check the AppWorld or Mobihand.com or one of the many theme developers.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones IM icon (yellow globe) home screen page doesn't GO AWAY

It drives me crazy.  I don't have any apps downloaded on my device with the exception of BBM IM.  I don't have a message from blackberry in traffic but there is a yellow globe with a '1' beside him, right next to the time stamp on my home screen.

I removed the battery and rebooted my phone.  I called customer service of bberry and they are of no use to me.

Someone please tell me what to do!

Hello and welcome to the Forums of Support BlackBerry.com.

A round yellow icon, probably not an Instant Message icon.

Go to your Messages folder > Menu > view folders > and look the WAP PUSH MESSAGES in your folder.

Find message and open it, read it or delete it.

  • BlackBerry smartphones add tasks to the home screen

I use the BB Dimension theme today with Messages, calendar, call the newspaper and the Applications on the screen. As applications are quick to reach with the application key, I delete apps on my home screen and add tasks. Is this possible?

    Hello

Today I apparently have a large enough buffer.

It took me a long time to realize that the BB dimension today screen icons can be ordered again.

I'm sorry to have misled you, involuntary, such as it was.

  • BlackBerry smartphone App buttons on the home screen

Is there anyway to adjust the transparency of the buttons on your home screen? I like to use 2 rows of buttons, but they cover the largest part of my wallpaper and it is difficult to see through the dark gray buttons. Can make you quite clear?

It is a function of the theme. As a new device, new themes slow developing.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones unknown icon on the main screen - looks like an emoticon

I came across a strange icon.  It's on the screen main (I use the theme today) and it is just above the Messages, at the same level than where it shows the icon of unread messages, but it is more toward the Center, while the icon of unread messages is left a little.

It is a number (1), and next to it is a thing to emoticon smiley face with a red star, replacing one of his eyes. It's almost as if he said to me an I a something (so the number one next to him), but I don't know what 'it' is, and it's as if there's a chance that I'll have more of them.

    Anyone know what it is?

  • BlackBerry smartphones 3G icon on the home page

I use torch 9860. In coverage 3g my homepage shows the edge network and why? Help me

    Hello

Assuming you have your camera set up for 3G services, so your question is the best directed to your mobile service provider... is their network and your device that must communicate properly with each other, and only they can look to their network to determine why he doesn't do so (assuming that it is supposed to do so... it is not a guarantee).

Good luck and let us know!
