BlackBerry Smartphones Software upgrade - lost address book, calendar, etc.

Yikes!  I messed up somewhere.  I upgraded my software by a recommendation by email and when finished I lost all my contacts, call log, calendar appts. and many other applications (games, etc.).  Is it possible to get this back?  I'm a little new to this, I did beforehand for a manual backup, I thought he did it automatically.  Help!

    You can have an address book on filter, to check this setting open the address book, and then click the menu button, and then select filter, if business or personal is checked, uncheck both and then see if you are able to access your address book.

    If the above does not resolve the question can you please let us know what device you are using and what version of the software is on the device?  The version of the software is under Options-> on, the software should be 4.X.X.XXX.

    I have problems with my Bold 9900.  My phone is less than a year and now I can't open my address book.  The phone freezes and I have to take out the battery to restart.  At the same time, my BBM and App World leave works as well.  I can't access an application.

    Exactly as you wrote, there is no such capacity... you can "restore" data, but you can only "recharge" your operating system... so, I would recommend that you attempt to reload your OS and perhaps update. Here are a few tips.
