BlackBerry Smartphones turning Data Services overall roaming and always use WiFi
I travel to the United States each week and would like to be able to turn off data roaming services. I expect that I would still be able to connect to WiFi even with data roaming services. Is this correct?
I am actually able to connect WiFi when I select 'Data off Service when roaming'.

BlackBerry Smartphones off data services - how will this affect my phone?
I recently bought my first Blackberry ever and I am now impressed and have a few questions through
I've had a look around and managed to find a lot of what I need these forums already, so I am very grateful to everyone who has already answered in other issues, as it helped me.
However, I have a question that remains unanswered.
I bought the phone without a data plan and I have looked around and saw that to navigate through the wifi I have to configure my browser for mode access point.
I can browse the mobile network, but as pay as you go and it's expensive, so I want to prevent that from happening. I've already hired a few fees according to my bill online trying to browse before wifi I found the access point mode.
I found the entry of data services. If I turn this off, my phone will still work as usual? (phone, receive texts and picture messages?) -If it prevents my phone to connect by mistake, it would be exactly what I need! However if it prevents that, I guess it's a useless option!
Cheers in advance for any help.

BlackBerry smartphones unavailable data Services &; data of non-operational service
I have a sim card, but I blocked the internet and I only use WiFi to surf the internet through my phone. And recently, I bought a BB Curve 9300. However, whenever I try to go to BB app world via wifi he'll tell non-operational data and service everytime I try to log in to msn it will say not available data services. My question is, I need data plan to use both apps?
Hello!
Indeed, Yes, this is a paid service.
You can check the activation of the BIS by seeing the "EDGE" symbol on your home screen of your device.
I hope that solves your problem!
If your problem has been resolved then would you be asked to click 'Like' and accept as a 'Solution' that other advisors invest it times on this Message more.

BlackBerry smartphones - what data services is free?
Hello, this is (if enabled) data services for free?
N ° but depnding on your carrier if they're on the promotion or free services for some time.
I got a tip, well, when I was still with Curve 8530 under Options-> manage the connection (don't know if I remember this right), choose Hotspot. This way you use hotspot wireless connections in the area as you are and not your carrier. However some carriers already will give you access to the data as part of your plan to feature (post paid).
What device do you use the most? I have the Bold 9900 now and this 'hotspot' I'm talking about is no part of my option - in fact I don't have - maybe because the newer versions are more concerned now to determine if 3 g or 4G (2G)

'Data Connection Refused' blackBerry smartphones turn off the notification!
Hello, I'm on sick leave for the next three months and my work doesn't pay for my phone, and I really didn't want to know how many emails are piling up in my Inbox, while I'm away, so I called AT & T today and cancelled my internet package. So, right now, I'm only using my blackberry as a phone and calendar, tasks, etc. There is a notification that appears on top of my phone that says 'Data Connection Refused'. I looked through the options and I can't understand how to transform that turned off, any suggestions?
Thank you!!!
This means that your SIM is not provisioned for BlackBerry services... which is obvious as your request to cancel your BlackBerry data plan. To delete "Data Connection Refused' on top of your device go Options -> Mobile network -> Data Service: Off.

I have a Curve 8520 I updated my device / desktop softwear at 5.0.0.900 and can not synchronize Organizer data any longer.
When I go to the Organizer, I can not select the checkboxes for the address book, calendar, tasks, Memo.
When I press on the settings of a window opens which is called BlackBerry data synchronization and he said to determine the name of configuration root for the main system...
On top of that then pops up another window called Intellisync
and he said: X unknown error reported. My only choice is OK.
I tried using the former Office Director to synchronize my organizing data which worked fine and synced my microsoft outlook email, calendar and contacts from my phone very well. Now, it will not synchronize the two. It also gives me an unknown error.
Please advice, I have to get my data from Organizer synchronized again.
Thank you

Hi and welcome to the Forums!
Have you installed on your PC, the new device OS package? And, if so, did you also remove any prior OS package PC?
Otherwise, a clean startover might be in order:
I suggest the following steps (reboot insert a lot of restarting your PC... not only restarts, but at full power down). In addition, it is recommended that you are connected to the PC on an account with full administrator rights. In addition, under Vista/Win7, use the option "Run As Administrator" for everything.
In addition, it was also reported that when your user profile on windows (type "echo %UserProfile%" in command prompt) contains spaces, then the installer will not work. To resolve this issue, log off from your Windows account and sign in using the local administrator account (or any other name of account without spaces) and install office (for all users).
(1) remove the package to update your device OS of your PC (Add/Remove Programs)
(2) properly uninstall the RIM DTM software:
- KB02206 How to perform a clean uninstall of BlackBerry Desktop Software
- Some noted that there are several registry keys to remove talk in this KB... don't forget to get your all associated with RIM registry database
- Others have reported the use of a registry cleaning tool to be also useful
- Still others have reported the use of your original PIM (Outlook, NOTES, etc.) Installation CD, run the "repair" to be helpful in some situations process
(3) get a new RIM DTM software download:
- Choose the version which is more recent and (if any) compatible with your PIM (if you are synchronizing via USB):
- KB12268 Applications supported by BlackBerry Desktop Manager to synchronize
(4) to download a new copy of your package to your carrier OS device (on your PC):
(5) install DTM on your PC
Installation of 6) (also on your PC), device OS package
(7) start the configuration Organizer:
- KB17022 How to configure applications to Organizer for synchronization using BlackBerry Desktop Manager
If all goes well, who's going to make things again.
Good luck and let us know!

BlackBerry smartphones turn off email &; text
Go on vacation and do not plan to check e-mail or text messages. How can I disable these functions I can avoid these outrageous roaming charges. How can I do this? I have a BB Curve 9330. Thanks in advance for the help!
Caplitcka
Well, you don't always offer as much detail... but I'll take a stab.
ON your BlackBerry, go to the manage connections > Mobile network.
Here, clear data services. You will receive and send ANY data, even if you are connected to a source of WiFi. No mail electronic, no browser, no data. Only the phone and SMS will work essentially.
If you travel outside your country, you should also organize an international calling plan with your carrier.

Problems of browser to blackBerry Smartphones. Missing service book.
Hello!
I have a blackberry storm 9500 from the Germany. I am located in Yerevan (Armenia). It seems that there are several problems with my smartphone:
1. when I try to connect to the browser, the following message appears: «your device has no currently all entries in book of Service Configuration Browser.» Please contact your service provider to enable the browser on the device"or next:"It seems that your device does not have an installed service WAP2.0 book."
2. I can't find the networks without wire in my phone.
3. I can send info via bluetooth, but it cannot receive (after the coupling with other phones of course).
4. can I transfer my messages in the "SMS SIM Card Inbox" folder in the folder "Inbox SMS"?
Thank you in advance!
No problem! I'm just sorry I can't do more to help! If you explain in detail the situation of your carrier, I hope they can get you operational. You may also call Vodafone in Germany to see if they will release your phone IMEI # and PIN # in order to work with your network. Unfortunately I don't know a lot about this fact (just what I've seen here on the forums), but maybe someone else who has done this before will see this and can help more!
If you do not hear anything someone else on this, try to start a new thread with the following title: "need help with get data service on a Storm 9500 unlocked from a different network."
This should be able to get more attention to others who have experienced similar problems and managed to solve it.

Update blackBerry Smartphones 'Personal data' problem then 7.1.0 Bundle 1149
Hello
Whenever I go to download the update of the software ' 7.1.0 Bundle 1149' it comes up with an error at the end by saying that I need to remove "21.4 MB of personal data", so I wonder about what exactly is 'personal data', so I can take advantage of the new update of the system...
I'd appreciate it if someone could return as soon as POSSIBLE, thank you.

There are two methods for recovering for you to try:
One:
- Open Blackberry Desktop Software & connect your device with the PC using the USB cable, without inserting the battery.
- You have three Retry option, update or cancel, and then click Update.
- Once it is at the stage of the "initialization of pocket" update, then insert the batteries.
- If this does not work, and you get stuck on the safeguarding of social data feeds, go to the second method below.
Second:
- Start your BlackBerry in safe mode. Article ID: KB17877 how to start a mode BlackBerry smartphone without failurehttp://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB17877
- Connect to the BlackBerry Desktop Software and allow handheld to connect. If you are prompted to update, cancel the upgrade for later.
- IF you can not connect or your desktop software does not recognize your device in Mode safe, please follow the instructions here to force detection: Article ID: KB10144 how to force detect the BlackBerry smartphone using the Application Loader
- Go to device > delete > SELECT DATA > select this option to remove the Social flow and smart card data bases and follow the rest invites you to complete.
- Now, you can go back and click to update the device through the Desktop Manager, or restart the BlackBerry in normal mode and continue on the upgrade of the air.

Hello
I don't have 'Outlook' put in place on my PC, or I really like.
Is it possible to synchronize the password Keeper, Memo pad and the Photo of my current Bold 9700 to my Blackberry Desktop Manager?
Then I can transfer these items to my curve 9320.
Thank you.

Hi Tamara133
Welcome to the Forums of the BlackBerry Support
If you stay at 9320 curve then more easiset way to do this is an Assistant to switch device using Desktop software.
KB23677 : How to switch using BlackBerry Desktop Software devices.
Or if you want to perform a selective restore to your new 9320 then first do a full backup of your old 9700 using desktop software. Once you have your backup connect your 9320 and run the software, select the device from software > restore > data choose selected since your last backup you did > scroll down the list and select only the password keeper and memo key data in this list, then click on apply.

OK... so it's planned...
The following procedure deletes all data, or all data and applications on the BlackBerry smartphone. Back up the data before you perform the procedure. For instructions, see KB12487.
1. connect the BlackBerry smartphone to PC computer.
2. open start-> programs-> Accessories-> command prompt.
3. navigate to C:\Program Files\Common search in Motion\Apploader.
4. type loader.exe /resettofactory.
