BlackBerry smartphones, what's up with the Torch 9800 OS 6.0.0.747

Hello again!
Is someone can you please tell me what is the new update OS of the Torch 9800? I use 9800/6.0.0.246 bundle 695. I want to upgrade my OS to 6.0.0.747 (my first upgrade - if ever), but first of all, I want to know what has been added to the old operating system. Thank you!

An upgrade of this nature is generally bug fixes. If your device works well for you, there is no need to upgrade. You won't get all the new features.

  • BlackBerry smartphone email a problem with my Torch 9800.

    I have a problem with my Torch 9800. When you try to configure the e-mail account on the torch, my companion of techno geniuses who ran in while I was reading upward on the ins and outs selected the company option and then tried to enter the e-mail address and the password. When she came back invalid, I had just read the correct option. Now the torch will not support to give me the Internet e-mail account option. or company. I made the default I saw through the command prompt and options, nothing seems to work when he gets online after the restoration, select email overall upward and it's always the newspaper and projection of password to the company. This phone is only 4 days old, I'm not impressed that I can't go back to the option, or am I missing something?

    Help will be appreciated.

    Thanks for the tip on the service provider. Turns out there was to be a $10 monthly fee paid to blackberry to activate the service.

    All good and working

  • BlackBerry smartphones a few questions on the Torch 9800

    a friend recently gave me her old flame and I wiped it created a new BBID and deleted reinstalled BBM and it still does not work, I don't have a data plan but bbm should work on my home network. Another thing when adding an email, how do you find the "password for activation" this is my email password... any help would be appreciated

    Hi James Gover.

    I was a fanatic user of Torch 9800, 9810 (very similar), so I hope to be useful.

    • to open your mailbox, of course you need his password. Otherwise, someone could connect to it, which would be absurd.
    • If I were you, I wouldn't delete BBM: it's an integrated application. But normally, it is possible to re - download from BB world. I understand that you have done this. I tried to configure BBM with a friend who was a BB user, but we have no success. I admit that it is a relatively complicated application.

    -Solutions:

    1. First, do a format of all the data on the BlackBerry. Before that, make sure that you have made a backup; You can do this with BlackBerry Desktop Software for Mac or Windows 7.1, which you can find on the BB site (Software section of the home screen). So yes, format. In: Options/Security/safety cleaning (if I translate well to the french).
    2. Ask your provider or operator. In my case, I had a basic membership for this BlackBerry and an additional option (and even today still with a better subscription) "Option BlackBerry" for anything over the phone and SMS, so exactly BlackBerry Messenger and e-mail, at a cost of CHF 10. -

    After having done these two things, I think you'll be ready!

  • "Détarer" problem with the Torch 9800/Device Simulator

    Hello everyone,

    Im a very strange problem with the Torch 9800 (OS 6).

    I have an application developed with 5.0 SDK. Throughout the process of synchronization of this app, there is a point he gets a. tar.gz file that is unziped. For this purporse (in fact, the tar part / "détarer"), we use a tar / "détarer" 'library' we found here in the forum (http://code.google.com/p/j2metar/). This library works fine in all phones with OS 5.0 that we try and even on the simulators of somo 6.0.

    But there seems to be a problem with the torch. During the uncompress, there are an exception, because what is the reading of the structure of the tar (from the industry), load the bytes that are invalid, corrupt, dirty, memory, and it fails.

    The strange thing of all is that if I have only the routine détarer to the file (in the torch), it works! But when I run all my sinchronization, which open and close httpconnections and process the file on some points (sometimes the same point, others of different) fails.

    My question is... are at - it a known bug, issue, etc. with the BONE of the torch (touch device)? Of course, the first thing that jump to mind is "my code is incorrect, memory leaks (in Java, but perhaps odd that a stream was not getting close properly)" and so on, but I can't seam to find the problem. And like I said before, this application works fine with the same file tar.gz in other devices like the 8520 OS 5, 9780 OS 6, 8900 (OS 5).

    IM completely stuck with this problem and any help/test will be greatly appreciated.

    Here some code, the method that makes him détarer and calls the détarer/tar library:

    public static boolean "détarer" (String tarFileUrl, String destUrl) bird Exception {}

    FileConnection fconn = null;
    FileConnection tarFileConn = null;
    TarInputStream tis = null;

    int count;
    data Byte = null;

    While ((input = tis.getNextEntry ())! = null) {}

    fconn. Create();   create the file if it doesn't exist
    else {}
    fconn. Delete();    Create a new
    fconn. Create();
    }

    OutputStream os = fconn.openDataOutputStream ();

    While ((count = tis.read (data))! = - 1) {}
    OS. Write (data, 0, count);

    }

    OS. Flush();
    OS. Close();

    fconn. Close();
    fconn = null;

    }

    TIS. Close();
    TIS = null;

    bRet = true;

    Hello

    It is a problem with the OS 6.  I've posted about this before here:

    http://supportforums.BlackBerry.com/T5/Java-development/reading-and-writing-file-on-torch-9800/TD-p/...

    Basically, corruption may occur if you write to the stream simultaneously in different threads.  The solution is to ensure that a single file operation is occurring at a given time.  Some people have had the chance to control the size of the buffer to something as a multiple of (64 * 1024)-1. e.g. 65535.  In addition, you can rinse after each write to the buffer.  I have had no luck with this, but others.  If you look at the bug in JIRA, there is also no activity on this:

    https://www.BlackBerry.com/jira/browse/JAVAAPI-1513

    Good luck!

  • How can blackBerry smartphones, you add music to the torch (and not via iTunes)

    I just got the Torch 9800.  I am trying to sync my music, I want to use as ringtones from a folder on my computer and can't figure out how.  When I first plugged the phone on the computer, I think that I have selected the parameter of storage; Although he kept flashing between the options that allow storage and the clock settings.  When I opened the device software and selected media on the Synchronize tab, I could only sync music from my iTunes library.  How do we install music from my folder on the computer?

    Are you able to create folders in the SIM card of the torch for ringtones and images that you install for use as wallpapers?  I could on the Curve 8330.

    Thank you.

    I didn't look in 'My Computer' on the computer to my phone.

    I tried to add the music through the desktop software; but I could only do so by using my iTunes.  I could not go into specific folders on the computer and add music manually.  I have my ringtones on the computer and I want that they the torch.

    Thanks, Krypto, I'll give it a try after work.

    4. There are the 'BlackBerry Device Manager' three times running background processes.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones trying to connect with the desktop software for my blackberry

    Hey, M trying to connect with the desktop software for my blackberry torch 9800 and it asks password for the connection. I am using same unlock password I use for my bb but for desktop sofware it shows incorrect... pls help!

    Make sure that you type on your BB, it's what you type in DM. don't forget that the keyboard on your BB is different from the keyboard on your PC. Some people think they are type numbers on their BlackBerry when they are really typing the letters. For example, to use numbers on a BB you must hold the ALT for each button, you push so you have to hold the alt key while typing 1 2 3 4. If you hold down the ALT key on the BB you would really be typed all W E R S. sometimes, people will hit the ALT key once (and not hold the button) before they enter the password and then you get 1 E R S.

    Who is? Make sure that you do not mix numbers and letters.

  • BlackBerry smartphones, what's wrong with my Blackberry Bold 9930

    First the screen of my Blackberry would freeze upwards and it wouldn't let me do anything for a few minutes, so I had to take my battery out and then after that I took out my battery and put back in place he would have himself cut and wouldn't load, it would load at halfway then stop and try again. I use to have to take out the battery for a few days before its in so that he can turn it on but one day it does at all so I thought it was the battery but I just bought a new battery and its charging again to half way and stop and then try to load again, but it won't turn. Does anyone know what the problem with it... I have to wait a few days before you put the new battery in once again and then it will work or is the phone itself and I just need to get a new one?  Help, please.

    Hello and welcome to the community!

    Please try this sequence... Note that, throughout the whole 4h15m process, your BB should stay connected to a good charger (not the USB PC):

    1. With battery, connect your BB to the wall charger
    2. Leave it alone for 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the screen not
    3. Remove the battery
    4. Wait 15 minutes
    5. Insert the battery
    6. Wait another 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the screen not

    This has been known to "revive" some BBs.

    It is also possible that your battery or BB has encountered a problem... to test, this sequence is necessary:

    1. Get a known good and already fully charge battery... use it in your BB and see what happens
    2. Get access to a BB good and the same known... use your battery in there and see what happens

    The results of this will show if your BB or your battery that has the problem. I realize that you have purchased a new battery, but please understand that 'new' and 'well known' are not necessarily the same thing... While it's rare, that a new battery cannot be subject to default. The best thing to do is to find someone with an identical BB which has no problem... to Exchange batteries and see what happens.

    In addition, the next thing is to try to start safe mode:

    • KB17877 How to start a smartphone BlackBerry in Mode safe

    It will take several attempts to get the combination of keys ESC (press/release/hold) OK, so be patient. When properly in Safe Mode, thinking... what happened just before this behavior started? A new application? An update? A theme? Something else? Think carefully that the slightest change can be causal... and try to undo all that was.

    Otherwise, your next steps become much more radical.

    Good luck and let us know!

  • BlackBerry smartphones can not synchronize with the USB cable plugged into charge pod

    Hello

    I read on the web site of shopblackberry.com, in the details of charge pod ( http://www.shopblackberry.com/_blackberryaccessories/cgi-bin/pd.cgi?frompage=category&page=product_d... ) that the pod can handset with charger travel or data cable for charge and/or sync with a BlackBerry smartphone. So, my question is related on a problem or a misunderstanding of me to this description.

    I want to know if we could recharge and synchronize the BlackBerry via USB cable or is only responsible for the BlackBerry when connected that way. My second question is, is it possible to synchronize the BlackBerry with the USB cable plugged into the pod or not?

    Because I got a request from one of my users about the fact that his BlackBerry 9000 can not synchronize when it is on his group.

    Thank you very much!

    Hello

    It's a loading dock. It is useful, because just drag you your "BOLD" in there and it will load (just like the 8300 Curve).
    If you want to synchronize, you can plug a usb on the side of the appliance cord. This can be done while the machine is in its dock, where the description.

    I have the same crib, but for the 8300. It's really worth buying. I'm happy with it every day.

    This is correct, there are thousands of messages in the Forum explaining that you must have a BlackBerry data Plan or the equivalent of your service provider providing BlackBerry data.

    Then, contact your service provider and subscribe.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones using two BB with the same account of Blackberry.

    Currently, I have a BB 9900 and is considering obtaining a BBZ10. The 9900 has a standard sim card by which the Z10 I think a micro sim. (I still have to talk to my service provider relating to the regime of a sim 2)

    Is it possible to use two phones at the same time, if my provider allows, regarding BB services etc. using the same account etc?

    I thought that I have addressed this before first topic to contact my ISP.

    Thank you.

    Kind regards.

    You ask the subject from the BBID even on both devices?

    Yes, to a certain extent, on the data.

    E-mail and social accounts like Facebook and Twitter works perfectly.

    BlackBerry Messenger will use only a BBID on a device at a time... If you have the same BBID on both devices, you will need to choose which will be your active BBM.

    Of course, the main question to this is if your mobile operator will allow two SIM cards with the same account. Doubtful.

  • BlackBerry smartphones to synchronize "BOLD" with the law! 6.0

    Hi all:

    How can I synchronize "BOLD" with the law! 6.0? My consultant advised through Companion Link, i have a problem because it is redundant with the list of contact every time I sync. Is there a way to synchronize directly (between "BOLD" and the law), or y at - it another software I can try?

    Thank you.

    Problem solved!

    I got a new "BOLD" of the telephone operator, updated the companion link, update of Desktop Manager and removed some unnecessary files from Companion Link. The problem is probably related to the "BOLD".
