Block the Windows clock

How can I prevent someone from changing the time on the clock for Windows?  Devious son changes the system time to circumvent the time limits that I set up on the Parental control.

Hello Watson93,

Thank you for using the Microsoft Windows Vista Forums.

I understand your wanting to block the clock!  However, in the Vista operating system, you cannot lock the clock.  You can search for clocks and there is some third party software that claims it can do it.

My installation of Thunderbird seems to use a 24 hour clock before the actual time. For example the received messages on December 25, 2014 are dated December 26.

In addition, when I answered a message entering today, December 25, automated header said that I was responding to a received message on 26 December.

System clock of my computer and the Windows clock to show the correct date.

Thunderbird uses your computer's clock. There nothing else for reference. I suggest you double check that your clock to the time and time zone. There is no reason to look at the bios to check the computer's clock.

  • How can I block/get rid of the window "changing browser settings?

There is this window that appears in the corner of FireFox I have met before, but now whenever I click on an option it will not go away. I have to go to the Preview on the icon of FireFox window and close it like this, but it keeps appearing every 20 minutes approximately. I am getting very frustrated because I can't seem to make them disappear, and I would like to know if I can block it.

I know that this isn't my anti-virus because it the window appears exactly like FireFox.

I restarted my computer several times as well and it didn't fix it.

In fact, Kalpersky does both, the antivirus is just easier to say.

In any case, I just uninstalled and reinstalled FireFox to correct the problem. Guess I had to fix myself after all. Thanks, I guess.

  • Recalling the backup window not reacted and block the code unlock sliding layer

My ipad has jumped out the window remember to save my icloud when connected to wifi, ipad so I pressed 'yes '. You can then force a backup via the settings > iCloud > backup > Back Up Now

  • The BIOS clock does not work after upgrade to Windows 7

XW4300 workstation has been recently updated to Windows 7 from XP pro.  After the update, the system clock did not keep accurate time, then I entered the BIOS Setup and set the time here.  After several hours, I rebooted, entered the BIOS configuration and noticed clock BIOS had not changed.  I replaced the CMOS (CR2032) battery with three different batteries and BIOS clock does not always change.

Occasionally, Windows 7 system clock will synchronize to the BIOS clock, which creates the incorrect time in Windows. I can see these events in the system event log.

Is it possible that this problem is related to the Win 7 upgrade, or is it a problem without a report?  Suggestions to control or fix the BIOS clock beyond what has been done so far?  If I can't fix the BIOS clock, is it possible to prevent the synchronization of the clock in the BIOS Win 7?

    ERICO wrote:

Replace the jumper CLRCMOS or CLRRTC to its original position after erasing the CMOS memory and flashed the BIOS? If you do not then the time will be reset whenever you turn off the PC.

I have not found a CLRRTC jumper on the 4300.  Is there a jumper to reset the password (E49), and a CMOS reset button.

However, I tried to reinstall the battery with power supply cable disconnected, and it reset the CMOS all anyway.  Reset the CMOS seems to have solved the problem.  BIOS clock has now begun to follow the exact time again.  I rebooted several times now, and the time is now correctly.

Thank you all for your suggestions.

  • How to block the registration of files with a windows xp-specific extension

How to block the registration of files in windows xp with a specific extension, example the user cannot save a file with the extension exe or mp3 or another, as management on the filtering of files, windows 2003 server, I can't find the steps for the blocking process I mean in windows xp prof

Windows cannot do natively.  A file name is simply a file name and you can not prevent the registration of a file based on its extension.

You can change file associations, such as a double click on a file with a particular extension will not automatically launch an application given, however, but that's not what you asked.
You may also schedule a program to run from time to time which will erase all files with a given as well.  but until this program is executed, such a file might exist on your disk.

  • How can I put the Windows XP firewall in a port configuration 'allow all' and only block some ports?

Without going into the details of why I need to do this, I'm putting the firewall of Windows XP in one allow all the configuration of ports and only refuse some ports I have in a list.

I train this script via the command-line batch with the netsh firewall add portopening command.  From what I've read, if enabled the firewall denies all traffic and only allows ports with exceptions, so through batch scripts, I opened all the 65 000 + ports TCP and UDP, essentially with the firewall turned on but in a configuration of "allow all the»  I don't deny the 100 or so ports to my list that I want blocked after they are all open.

This strategy seems to work, but the problem I waited and I now see is that svchost.exe takes 50% of my CPU time, have to deal with constantly these firewall rules.

"From what I've seen on Windows XP, there is no way to have the firewall ON, and in a configuration of" allow all the "" because the XP firewall may not have defined port ranges, they must be defined one by one.  It looks like Windows Vista or 7 would be much easier because the firewall has got a re vamp of advanced features.

Does anyone have a suggestion on how to realize this "allow all", deny some' strategy?  I know it's a strange use of the Windows Firewall, so let's please jump in front of a 'why would you do this incredibly stupid thing?"messages.

Also, if it was the wrong forum (or website) to post on for this kind of question, I'd appreciate a recommendation of a more appropriate forum.
