Blue screen after the automatic updates in Windows Vista
Automatic updates caused a blue screen that says STOP: c000218 {registry file failure} the registry cannot load the hive (file): \System\System32\Config\COMPONENTS or its log or replacing. It is damaged, missing, or not accessible in writing.
Ideas: I don't know what happened when it restarted it started this
- will simply not get to start it to connect screen or system repair
- Error messages: STOP: c000218 {registry file failure} the registry cannot load the hive (file): \System\System32\Config\COMPONENTS or its log or replacing. It is damaged, absent, or not writable. :
- Recent changes made to your computer: just the updates that was supposed to be important
- What you have already tried to solve the problem: System repair, restoration of the system or safe mode do not work
in this case, restore your netbook factory settings. "A programmer is just a tool that converts the caffeine in code" Deputy CLIP - http://www.winvistaside.de/

Blue screen after the recent updates of security for Windows XP SP3.
I got following error messages "Blue screen" after the latest updates from Microsoft:
0X0000007E (0X8053355E, 0XBA4CB50C, 0 X 80000003, $0XBA CB208). I tired to run in all modes of SECURITY but still had the same problem. I ran Dell diagnostics and it came with no error in memory or hard drive. I have a Dell Inspiron B130 w/2 MB of RAM. Does anyone have a solution? The laptop came with no CD boot.

When you do the automatic updates of Windows Vista, I get the code below.
'A security update for Windows Media Format Runtime 11 for Windows Vista (KB968816)' = failure
- What should I do to fix this?
- And what does this update actually?
Thanks for any help provided.
scrubie,
If you go to programs and features, and then on the left side you should see a link for "Daily display installed." Which would then show the list of updates with the State which will show you if it failed or not.Hope that helps. Mike - Engineer Support Microsoft Answers

Windows Vista 64-bit... Black laptop after the latest updates... windows screens will not boot into SafeMode again black screens.
Hello
I would suggest trying the following methods and check if it helps.
Method 1:Try the steps in the following Microsoft article and check if it helps.
Windows Vista or Windows 7 unbootable, and the Startup Repair tool does not resolve the problem:
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/934540
Method 2:
You can refer to the link below and check the drive for errors:
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/check-your-hard-disk-for-errorsWarning: when running chkdsk on the drive hard if bad sectors are found on the disk hard when chkdsk attempts to repair this area if all available on which data may be lost.
If the methods mentioned above do not solve the problem, then it would be best to contact the manufacturer of the computer.
For more information, see the following Microsoft article and check if that helps.

Note: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. Unable to connect after the automatic updates of Windows.
I have two computers on my network, one with 7 and one with vista. (US) both for automatic Windows update and yesterday, after both received updates, I couldn't go online. Restored both and that solved. Today it's the same thing. I restored both and Windows updated together on manual. Problem is I want to install updates, but you need to know what is happening. Thank you
Many other people have the same problem after the recent update of Win7. A thread said that the culprit is update KB2705219 and you'll be OK if remove you it. There is no other additional information that the user in question has done so successfully [I can't find the link, I checked both of these threads today].
I have not tried to uninstall it I like my PC to install with a decent connection the last hours [no idea why]. I also have McAfee.

In addition, you should never uninstall McAfee or any other AV application unless you have a copy of the relevant utility uninstall application. Results to omit this step can be severe and cause quite disconcerting & apparently unrelated symptoms. I do not recommend this as a step for the problem today, but keep this link for when / if you decide to replace McAfee - McAfee Consumer products removal tool. For other AV applications, see list of anti-malware cleaning - program uninstall tools

After the automatic update of Windows 7 - Manager of tasks does not work
Automatic update has occurred. Now the Task Manager does not come with window with tabs upward. Only a window with two columns ('Mission' and 'Status') and three option buttons ("end task", go to "and new task" "). Even not a 'close button' - may not only close to the taskbar.

3 machines different blue screening after the latest updates.
Original title: others recently have Windows XP are startup problems? 3 unrelated to computers are suddenly loop and unable to start in the mode of
Three unrelated to computers (at home, in the work of the spouse and aunt) using Windows XP (Home and Pro) suddenly refused to start in any mode - all in the last week. They simply loop over and over again, regardless of the F-button options that I try. Is anyone having this problem, too, or is it just a coincidence?
We all have good update security protection - Trend Micro, and we send each other or share files.
I'm working on rounding to the top of each of our installation discs in order to be able to use the option "Repair" Windows XP. Meanwhile, any input from there?
Hello
I posted a response earlier, but for some reason it has not shown any. Big problem solved. Chkdsk/r is a bad sector and now it does not work which is a great relief. Frustrating that you cannot, by normal methods, follow the path C... virtual machines given that there is no appdata folder. For other readers, I had disabled integration so that I could see the XP screen before I tried XP - I tried to activate the integration, but it wouldn't let me. When fully XPloaded asked me a password that I did not know that it is not only my login for Win 7 but an OEM supplied password. Fortunately, when I am logged into XP, Win 7 let me integrate XP again. If someone needs to know how please contact me. JoselBarra has been a good help, thank you.

After the last updates of windows have problems with start up and now drivers
Hello
After the last updates of windows have problems with start up and now drivers. I get an error code 21 when I try to install the drivers AMD apparently missing.
May 14, last night I had several (automatically) downloaded windows update
Today, I was unable to boot my computer with Windows - tried the disk check, start checks etc, and eventually had to use System Restore (for help before the critical update to restore).
Perfection, everything works, but knowing that windows will attempt to redo an automatic update, tried to check online - no one seemed to have a problem and (naivly) thinking I could always do another restore of the system, I rebooted again.
Same thing worse. Could not do a sys restore either just before restarting or last night. Chose a date earlier (last week) but then lost the USB drivers and pilots display. Downloaded updated but refuses to let my AMD driver install Windows I have a very unpleasant screen... and I must now stop the installation of this update "critical."
Would appreciate advice how do my installed display driver or whether anyone else has problems following this update
Thank you

computer crashed after the automatic update Tuesday night
Hi, Kevin
My computer crashed after the automatic update Tuesday evening. The message indicates that the demand for window vista (which initially provided with the Lenovo computer, that I bought new in 2007) is not valid. When I rebooted and you press F5, it offers 3 options 'Security Mode', but no return explicitly beforehand updated status.
I'm not familiar with uninstalling and restoring systems. Can you walk me through the process? Can I uninstall or restore when the computer is in mode security (limited capacity)? How a WAIK/Windows PE image downloaded to another computer to help me with the computer that is out?
Your suggestion to install SP2 apply to windows vista home basic version, 2007?
Thank you!

How can I get my laptop to recognize my printer wireless after the automatic update?
After the automatic update I couldn't open any program (Word, Excel, internet etc.) that I managed to resolve by restoring my laptop settings before the update. It seems to have worked until I went to use my printer. My laptop will not find my printer through devices and printers, and when I go to print a document, an error box pops up saying "Windows cannot print due to a problem with the installation of the current printer.
Your help would be appreciated gratefully.
You must view the windows update history and the KB updates that have been installed, that you believe that the cause of the condition.
And also to give the brand / model of the printer and the laptop

All browsers stop working after the automatic updates
* Original title: Windows 8 - all browsers stop working after update
Hi, I have a Dell 14R with Windows 8, standard configuration. After the automatic updates pushed on 06-04-14, computer laptop start behaving strange - not able to connect to any external website. Home page only on a browser worked. Troubleshooting auto did not find any problems. I restored the computer to the last point saved, generated an error "cannot restore', perhaps due to MacAfee, but solved the problem. Then I disabled the updates for windows, just in case. Did you anyone has a similar experience lately and was able to locate and solved the problem?
I've updated for Windows 8.1 over the weekend, it seems to work great so far.

How to disable the automatic updates of windows and to update on demand
At the same time, I had disabled the automatic updates of windows and updated on demand by opening windows update. Where is the place to activate and deactivate the automatic updates of windows.
It worked. Thank you!
I wasn't able to get automatic updates to download a microsoft windows update. The fix for microsoft in default mode indicated that he needed to be repaired and that fixed it. When windows update was used again the update has failed once again. The fix even that it was then run in aggressive mode and with a recheck has failed to correct the problem. At each restart, automatic updates took the time to start producing a yellow shield and then pop-up reminders. So thank you to help us with these questions to disable the automatic updates of windows.
Thanks for posting the results of your efforts, I don't know they will be read and appreciated.
