  Hello, this is my first post. I have a HP/Compaq Proliant ML 570 server. I downloaded and burned the ISO image to CD. The installation seems to happen as the documentation until you restart. The hardware compatibility list seems to include this server. It has 4 processors xeon, 1 GB of memory and a 5300 with 6 disks Raid Controller hard swappable scsi hot. Don't know what to try next. I was thinking of doing away with the logical drive as the next step. I also have a post about correspondence not memory may cause the BSOD. I might be able to verify that. Othere than read the installation instructions, I have no experience wth VM ware. We have lost a few servers for a few months and have been stealing parts to bring them to the top. The idea of multiple instances of server on a hardware appliance appeals to me.   Just for fun, maybe try a different ESX 3.5 (the one with the console) or maybe an older version to declare ESX 3.03.  Those give a try.

  I think it's a memory problem!

  If you have a SATA drive, which will give you another challenge because you need to maybe get into BIOS and temporarily change the disk other than SATA configuration mode so the Recovery Console will be able to see, replace the suspicious winsrv.dll file, change the SATA drive and reboot...

  First, do the XP Recovery CD of Console and if you are able to use a system of work to ensure that the CD you made at least boots (you don't have to "do" something with it), which would be a good thing.

  Here's how:

  If you have no XP bootable media (or aren't sure you have) create a bootable XP Recovery CD of Console and do not forget.

  You can make a bootable Recovery Console CD by downloading an ISO file and burn it to a CD.
