Blue screen when you install Windows XP on Touchsmart tx2z with pre-installed Windows 7

I use the Tablet for a month or two, and I found Win 7 not this practice. I then tried to install XP (I used a SP3 disk at startup of the system), but the computer shows blue screen after loading some files and would not start the installation program. I don't know if XP downgrade guide works because I have not seen tx2z in the list. Someone has an idea? Thank you very much.

Try to "slipstreaming" the driver SATA HERE decompress to a folder and use nLite to update your copy of XP and burn a new cd.

This guide shows "slipstreaming" one driver SATA Intel, but the process is the same:HERE

Daniel also has a pdf guide of AMD only "slipstreaming" at the top of the forum, if you need it... called "SATA Drivers for XP".

    Hello suncoastsrq,

Usually, when we see problems during shutdown, the cause is something that loads at startup.

To this end, I would recommend mode startup minimum troubleshooting as seen in the following articles:

When I try to install Windows XP Home (including SP3) on my new L350D-11 has a blue screen after loading the drivers.
When booting with Kubuntu Live CD (8.x) appears an error message: / sbin/modprobe out anomalous.

At least I need Windows XP because of some programs that do not work under Vista. Is it possible to install XP?

    Hello

Hmm I think the BSOD appears because you didn t add SATA drivers in the Win XP operating system.

However, you can try to install Win XP on your laptop without the use of the SATA driver, but you can change the SATA AHCI in the BIOS in compatible mode.

    Check it out!

I used the following Web site to set up using Windows Media Center - http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/9166/learning-windows-7-setup-live-tv-in-windows-media-center/.  After that I put in my zip code he sought the power of the signal or something and then I got a blue screen.  To restart the computer the information below has been MS. error message This happened to me twice.

Anyone know how to fix this? Or otherwise, I just want to use my computer to watch TV on, and if I can do this other method other than Windows Media Center free I am happy to do.

This seems to be resolved now... it was maybe an update of windows, like when I rebooted my machine it updated automatically and after that he worked all of a sudden!

Anyway, now it shows a black screen and no sound for all channels, but that is a different problem... and I'll look in to that.

    Thanks for your help.

  • A BLUE SCREEN after you install the update for windows vista for x 64 (kb970653) (KB972036) (kb973879) systems

Unfortunately, I had not created a restore point and had to restore my computer settings to solve the problem.   I got the blue screen in ordinary Windows with in minutes after loading and after 30 minutes or more during my safe MODE session.

I have my computer on now with all updates but these three...  (kb970653) (KB972036) (kb973879)

What should I do now? Where can I report this to Windows? or when I know that it is safe to download new updates?

Person is not one of the three that actually caused the problem?  (im not really want to try an any of them again... lol)

(btw, my computer is a HP Pavilion dv6-1245dx, Vista x 64)
