Bluetooth for Satellite L500 installation failure
Greetings,
I just bought a brand new Toshiba Satellite L500 yesterday. Everything is going well except fo the bluetooth. When activate using the FN key, Vista automatic configuration will automatically launch and the installation bar moves slightly and "new device inserted" sounds and then "deleted device" appears shortly after and then displays is interrupted, I waited a long time but nothing seems to happen, when I click on cancel, he invites me that the installer is still ongoing while he is not.
I take my camera to service center or is there something I can do to fix this?
Appreciate your kind help.
Thank you
Best regards, Adel Kooheji

I don t think you should contact the service center at this time
I mean the guy will try to reinstall the OS using the Toshiba Recovery disk and I think you can do that too without the help of the service people.
So if you want, try recovery of the operating system and check if you BT would begin again.
PS: your should create the recovery disk using the preinstalled Toshiba Recovery disk creator tool!

Module Bluetooth for Satellite A80 129
Hi all!
Is it possible to upgrade my satellite A80-129 with a BT module or it is not possible at all?
And if possible, what then is the right one for my laptop?
BR, Kekec
Hi kekec
I found information that Bluetooth for A80 is not available. This means that there is no possibility of upgrade. In this case, the best advice is USB Bluetooth stick.

Can I order Win7 64 bit for Satellite L500-19Z recovery disk?
I have a portable Satellite L500-19Z that was running a 64-bit version of Windows.
Due to a problem, I had to reinstall Windows. The disc that came with the laptop was produced Recovery Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit. Not realizing the implications of the re-setup using thisNow, I'm done with a 32-bit operating system, which means that I can use only 3 GB of my 4 GB of RAM. Can I get a recovery disk for the 64 bit version of Windows? I created, when I got to the laptop, a repair for my 64-bit system disc, but, of course, if I try to use it he said, rightly, that I do not have a compatible operating system version.
I think that you can order.

Extension of the memory for Satellite L500 - 1-7
Hello!
I'm looking for more memory for my Satellite L500 - 1 7 portable. I am looking for 2 or 4 x 4 GB
but I can't believe that the price is about 249.00 for a 4 GB memory DDR2 PC2
(800 MHz) (in the toshiba official store).I was looking on amazon and first ordered it (http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B0034PO3FG/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00)
which is certainly bad (it was for apple computers...).Now, I'm a little confused that memory buy - what key information should I look to order good memory?
The manual says «...» Modules of memory 1 GB, 2 GB, or 4 Go PC3-8500/PC2-6400 can be installed in two memory locations... ».Thanks in advance,
FusselHello
Given that the laptop supports only Intel GL40 chipset, you can expand the memory to 4 GB only.
So, you can use 2 x 2 GB RAM.You can use DDR2 RAM 2 GB 667 MHz memory modules

Pilot XP64bit for Satellite L500-required 1DT
Hey,.
If someone managed to install xp64 on a satellite l500-1dt.
I'm trying to get it to a double boot with windows 7 (installed first).
Have installed xp but the drivers missing WiFi among others. The wlan card/chip is the RTL8187B.
There are drivers on the site of toshiba and realtek apparently for xp, but they do not seem to work with xp64.Someone at - it the words of wisdom?
Hello
You are right, the wireless network card is Realtek and the chip should be RTL8187B.
What say buddy Win XP 64 bit was not so popular like Win XP and most of the manufacturers did not provide t all Win XP 64 bit drivers
You last chance is google
You should google for Win XP 64 bit RTL8187B drivers
Maybe you will succeed I keep fingers crossed -
New WLan for Satellite L500-01u012 card
The wifi card is dead in my toshiba satellite earlier this week, its out of warranty and toshiba shop wants $200 to replace it with a 2.4 ghz standard card.
I'm looking to upgrade to a card capable of 5 GHz in all cases.
I found a card that looks good. http://www.bigfootnetworks.com/killer-wireless-n-1103/
I wonder if my laptop will support it?The laptop is a Toshiba Satellite L500-o1u012 and the old card was Realtek RTL8191SE Wireless LAN 802.11n PCI-E NIC card mini pcie half size.
The description says:
+ Killer 1103 Wireless-N adapters are supported by two bands (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz), 3-Stream MIMO and IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n standards-based in a mini-PCIe half size format. +
So it s a mini-PCI card and in my opinion, the local network card device must be compatible theoretically

Creation of recovery Win 7 64 bit for Satellite L500-19 x disc?
My new Satellite L500 - 19 X came pre-installed with Win 7-64 bit version.
Also includes a "product recovery Win 7 32 bit" discInside of the package a brochure said:
"If you plan to use 64-bit at a later stage, please create a _recovery medium_ before installing Windows 7 32 bit"
He then warns me to create a "medium recovery 64-bit... you are ordering that 64-bit recovery media is not free."
The manual goes long on "_System Recovery Options" as stated in the manual I did a "Windows 7 64 bit repair disc" can I say that I don't have or can't have a real Win 7 64 bit disc?
The brochure says "a backup copy (file Win 7 64-bit) is stored on the hard drive as a _recovery image_" so is this the real Win 7 64 bit full disk that I'm after, and if so how do I get it?
Toshiba documentation is not clear, and I think rather contradicts itself?
I'm confused! Someone at - he understands what's going on?
JohnF.
Hello
If I understand correctly, you have received the laptop pre-installed with Win 7 64 bit OS.
But you didn t get the drive recovery Win 7 64 bit, but you have a Win 7 32 bit recovery disc. Is this good?Matt good the case is that the use of the recovery disk will format the entire HARD drive and will erase everything from the HARD drive. This means that you will lose the Win 7 64 bit OS preinstalled.
So if you would not create the recovery disk Win 7 64 bit before using the Win 7 32 bit recovery disc, then you will not be able to go back to the 64-bit version. Therefore, create the Win 7 64 bit recovery disc at the beginning. So you are safe and can install Win 32-bit and 64-bit when you want.

My XP installation reported a low disk space. It's on a 20 GB partition. The biggest space hogs are "C:\WINDOWS" and "C:\Documents and Settings\Allen\Local Settings" (Allen in me), both with 8 MB. I install most apps on another partition of 200 GB.
