BNC

Hello

I use NI BNC-2110 adapter and NI USB-6251. I wonder if the BNC multiplex channels at the same time or separately and what is the stage of late (speed switch) so he can switch from one channel to another when I acquire data from several channels. Is the speed of switch function of the rat sampling or fixed if the channels does not collect data at the same time? There are shifts of time between signals from different channels in my test.

And I'm confused about how to set different sampling frequencies for different channels and creat local virtual channels pointing to physical channels. It is said in the following link if the channels have a common divisor, I could implement your task.

Thank you very much.

Hi Ningyu,

The USB-6251 case will use a multiplexer to sample multiple channels, which means that there will be a delay without a sample. The actual amount of delay will change depending on your configuration, but I included some items of knowledge base describing the delay and also have the formula to calculate your delay. The rate at which the multiplexer is switching comes from the clock to convert.

The article you mentioned describes a way to configure your acquisition to taste a channel more often than another channel based on the same clock. As shown in the example, you can enjoy the 1 three times and channel 2 times for a single edge of your sample clock. The question is that if you're levy channel 1 three times, samples are taken with a delay based on the clock to convert, not a sample clock. The picture in the article shows how samples are scattered, is not the same at a clock frequency sampling more quick example based on the time between samples.

What the clock Convert (channel) rates determined in NOR-traditional DAQ OR DAQmx?

  • Several analog inputs seem to change any of the other (details DAQ: 2120 BNC and 6062E)

I use the BNC 2120 DAQ board connected to the data acquisition card 6062E to record two analog inputs. An entry is connected to ai0 and the other at ai1. Example vi: "Acq & graph int clk tension" has been used to measure the two entries with the value read NChan NSamp vi (channels being dev2 / ai0:1). The output is the top graph in the image. However, this seemed a bit strange to me that one of them should be modulating with a different frequency. When I record both entered individually (two in low pictures) they are indeed different since the entries shown in the top graph.

Why this would be the case, and how can I overcome this to measure the real signals?

    Thank you!

The E series card takes the samples as soon as possible. Thus, for example,.
If you have 16 analog input channels but you only read of
channel 0 and 1, the map will show the channels 0 and 1 right
After and then wait 14 'ticks '. What's that little run-in
    the origin of the afterglow.
I think you can get the card to wait a certain
number of ticks with a property node. I have attached a screenshot. You
can find the property node in the palette of functions >
Measurement of e/s > NOR-DAQmx > node Timing. Expand it
Property node so there's two entrances. The properties are in
Left click on the node and going more > converted >
Its properties delay units and sampling clock delay and delay that
    you want.

If the phase is important so the above is not the best
the option because it causes a delay in phase. So, if you need true simultaneous
sampling, then you will need different hardware. The S series is everything
    simultaneous sampling.

Or, rather than the Delay property and delay units, try the Rate property
find more > converted > rate.

    If this is not
work either, you can move the second signal source to, say, AI8 and
Connect everyone to the ground. Readings for these, but just do not take into account
the data. In this way the ADC will sag to the ground at the time where that can happen
the second string in the way so that you should not see this frequency
    ghosting on the other channel.

  • How to use ANSI C / C++ to control a device USB - 6216 BNC

    Dear Sir or Madam,

I want to use Visual C/C++ (but not the .NET language) to contorl a device USB - 6216 BNC and write a simple app for a small project in my lab. What I want to do is very simple. I want just to provide a signal to exit through a channle AO and saving an AI channel input signal. I do not want to LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, and Measurement Studio, so that this simple application can be autonomous and does not depend on LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, and Measurement Studio. Can anyone advise me on what I need to do to get there?

My naïve thought is that I will follow the following steps:

    1. install the DAQmx drivers on acomputer,
    2. Connect the device USB - 6216 BNC to this computer,
    3. Make sure that the device is recognized by the computer, via the Windows Device Manager
    4. write a Visual C/C++ program to register the NIDAQmx.h and use the NIDAQmx.lib library. By the way. I found the files NIDAQmx.h and NIDAQmx.lib in the C:\Program Files x 86) \National Instruments\NI - folder DAQ\DAQmx ANSI C Dev\ that was automatically created for me when I installed LabVIEW on another computer in the lab m a few years ago.

Please let me know if I missed something. In addition, if there is a code example for a simple task like this, it will be extremely useful.

Moreover, the computer on which I am working on a Windows 7 and 9.3 DAQmx installed.

    Thank you!

  • 24 e / s digital on the grid of the BNC-2090 a mount.

    Hi all

I use a capture card of data NI PCI-6221 connected to a BNC-2090 rack mounting has. Digital I/O Terminal block on the rack mounting sping is a watch the bottom of the image. The PCI-6221 card has 3 digital i/o ports with 8 lines for each port. I tested what line corresponds to what terminal and came up with the following representation in red, where, for example, the P2-2 corresponds to the Port 2 - line 2, etc. However, it seems that Port 1 - 0 line is not represented by a sping terminals.

Is it possible to get an e/s on support for this particular line mounting while I have available altogether instead of only 23 24 lines? Any suggestions would be really appreciated.

    Hello

I think you are right that the PFI0 line is not represented by one of the terminals of the spring.  Sounds more like it is represented by a BNC connector.  You can see that on page 2-1 Manual BNC-2090 is:

    http://www.NI.com/PDF/manuals/372101a.PDF

  • How to make your own Board BNC connector for 37 pins PCI-6010?

This is first time I am doing data acquisition and the BNC-2110 present can be connected to PCI-6010. How to make a Board for it?

I'm not sure what you mean by "some"; The BNC-2120 exposes all channels HAVE and AO on connector 0 of a standard feature of E, M or X series.

    • Eight BNC connectors are for eight differential channels of I. For example, for the BNC connector labeled 'I 0', the Center connects to the 'I 0' pine and the outside connects to pin 'HAVE 8'. (The BNC-2120 probably would not be a good choice for someone who wanted to use the channels in unbalanced mode).

    • Other two is for the analog output; the centres are ' AO 0' and 'AO 1' and transmissions are related to "AO GND".

    • There is another connector BNC for PFI 0; all other PFI (with the exception of the 10, 11 and 15) are broken down as screw terminals.

    • Other BNC connectors connect what either directly (the unit is powered by the + 5V line but otherwise works autonomously, and the "user defined signals' are connected to terminals to adjacent screws).

It seems like it wouldn't be difficult to have a cable that was going on a PCI-6010 the 37 pins on the connector 68 pins on the BNC-2120. I'm a little curious as to why we do not have one. Possible reasons off the top of my head which may explain why not:

    • cards PFI/description would be a mistake (for example, on a series of E/M/X ' CTR 0 SRC "PFI 8; on the 6010 is PFI 0.)

    • No digital lines (E/M/x series P0.0 P0.7 via are independent; on the P0.0 6010 P0.5 and P1.0 by P1.3 are shared with PFI lines)

    • Confusion about being able to connect to other devices that we sell with connector d - SUB 37 pin, but who do not use a compatible pinout (for example, the PCI-6239, PCI-6510 or the NI 9237). Here again, a PCI-6703 also uses a 68 connector pins, but has a completely incompatible pinout as well.

But it seems that those who would be pretty easy to deal with, because it is useful to be able to connect to the BNC-2010. Maybe it's an idea for the Exchange of ideas information Acquisition?

Anyway, if you want to have pushed BNC for everything on your Board of homebrew will need you:

    • 8 or 16 BNC connectors to HAVE, depending on whether you want single-ended or differential. For differential, the centres are GOT by AI 7 0, and transmissions are AI by AI 15 8. For asymmetric, the centres are HAVE 0 through 15 AI and transmissions should all connect to GND AI.

    • HAVE a sense (I think that you only need this if you use channels Nonreferenced Single - Ended (NRSE). See also: noise considerations for analog signals and field wiring.)

    • Two for AO (centers are AO 0 and 1 AO, outers times connect to AO GND).

    • Ten for PFI/digital lines. Outers will connect to GND D.

Up to a maximum of 29. You want maybe less, depending on your application.

  • Bnc video stream

Its possible that you could.  You should check this Page of Firewire camera Support page and the Iindustrial Camera Advisor.

This page should help you find your answer.  I noticed there are links on the pages dealing with related topics.  It is probably the best place to start.

  • The channel numbers and the USB-6259 BNC

The front panel USB-6259 BNC labels BNC connectors as channels 0-7 and 16-23. Most odd... I have a software written in C++ using NOR-DAQmx that my client will try to use with this unit. When using the channel superior numbers he (not unusually, really) Gets the error-200077 saying that they can only be used in unbalanced mode. But it is not natural for him to use the channel numbers printed on the front of the unit.

Can someone tell me how the front panel of this device is the channel numbers, you must specify in the code?

This requires the switch (source of the source/grounded) floating FS/GS that appears under each BNC connector?

Here's my proposal: differential mode: in the software, channels 0-7 are front channels 0-7. Software 8-15 channels are front 16-23.

Asymmetric mode: software channels 0-7 are cover 0-7 and 16-23 software channels front 16-23. And 8-15 and 24-31 channels are absent...

It takes just the opposote of what you have. In differential mode, aix is paired with aix + 8. so, ai31, ai9, AL10, ai11, ai12, ai13, ai14, ai15, ai24, ai25, ai26, 27, ai28, ai29.ai30 and ai8 channels are not available for selection in differential mode. Front panel for ai15-23 labels should be correct and matches what you select in the software.

  • Current entry port analog for BNC-2110

    Hello

I use BNC-2110 as interface to connect to the PCI-6280, I checked this interface card. I wonder if this curd can be used for current analog measing (I mean directly). It accepts input of current analog?

and one thing, when I open the module Measurement & Automation on my PC, I am not available to pinout of the BNC-2110, I see some channels and a weird pinout. I have to map this pinout to BNC-2110 card? If so, anyone know how I can do?

    Hello

I want to read analog input using BNC 2110 as an interface connected to the PCI-6280. In the first step I want to use the Signal Express to see only the data, but when I choose one of the input and then string I want to see the connection, I get this message:

    ------------------------------

What should I do in this step?

    Hi MiladAk,

There is this sentence in the Manual "the BNC-2110 is only intended for differential analog input signals. The 16 channels HAVE on PCI-6280 are mapped to 8 connectors BNC AI0 - AI7 on BNC-2110. HAVE [n] with I [n + 8] represent a differential channel. This means that if you select channel differential AI0 in Signal Express with Terminal configuration it will also use AI8. These two channels is represented by a single BNC connector (connection central driver is positive = AI0, negative connection is shielding = AI8).

  • Diffenernce / choice between using a shielded connection block (2120 BNC) or the DAQ hardware?

We build a new configuration of lab that will need hardware in the loop detection by sensors data and formatting / analysis using programs and possibly return data in material for the control.

Data acquisition is what is the real measure of the signals.  The Terminal is just a simple way to route signals for data acquisition.  If you can actually the terminal box, cable and card DAQ.

I highly recommend talking to your representative local sales OR to make sure that you get exactly what you need.

  • NI USB - 6212 BNC analog input impedance matching

I just ordered a case NOR USB - 6212 BNC DAQ (should be delivered soon). I want to use to measure HV signals using a probe of high voltage of 1/1000 I have.

Now, datasheet of the probe (not a lot of info) says it has an impedance imput 100MOhm. I suppose that it consists of a simple resisitve divider, and if the ratio is 1/1000, I wait so to have a 99.9MOhm resistance in series with a 0.1MOhm resistance. However, the data sheet also specify that the probe is designed to be connected to an oscilloscope with an impedance of 1MOhm. As this input impedance is very low compared to the low value of the separator of resistance resistance, so I guess that the real resistance at the level of the sensor values 99.9MOhm and 0.11MOhm (to obtain the 0.99 and 0.1MOhm when it is connected to the oscilloscope for 1mW).

Therefore, given that the impedance of the USB-6212 according to the datasheet, the analog input is > 10GOhm, I expect to measure higher to true alternative voltages when connected to the acquisition of data from 10%. This assumption has a meaning?

What would be the best way to get around this? Do a calibration and correct the values acquired in LabVIEW code? Or should I add precision 1MOhm resistance at the same time to the acquisition of input data to decrease its resistance to entry to the value expected by the probe?

    Thanks for your help!

    You are not alone

Since you have a range of 1000: 1 I guess you also need bandwidth (I have a TEK 6015 A ), so you need based on the impedance input, a complex value, means he must not only watch but also the ability to input resistance (1 M).  demarcation of the field probes have usually some elements of toppings to match the probe and the input scope. RTFM of the help of the probe

BUT a more serious point is that with your probe, you have a very high resistance.  And if you look in the specification of the 6212 you will find on page 2 by mistake ppm in logarithmic scale graph!  and even 100 k source impedance it not shown.

So I'm afraid that a simple 1 M on the DAQ entry can work if you're only measuring DC, and only if you use a channel on the acquisition of data.  A workaround is an amplifier separate buffer with an impedance of good entry corresponding to the specification of your probe and a low output impedance.

  • Can I feed 12VDC in a USB - 6212 BNC?

I want to follow a circuit that alternates between 0 and 12 VDC.  The voltage level will be always equal to 0 or 12VDC.

I can feed this tension in one of the channels I my USB - 6212 BNC or going to fry something if I do.  AI channels on the unit are only rated to +/-10V.  I don't like to get an accurate reading of the voltage.  I just want to see if the signal is high or low.

    Thank you!

    Hello

Here's the surge card for this map:

Surge protection (HAVE <0..31>, AI SENSE)
Device on... ±30 V for up to two pins of I
Device disabled... ± 20 V for up to two pins of I

My max current during the surge of input pin of ±20 State / I

So you can integrate 12VDC into your Board and not with precision the measure, but you should be in form do not damage the card.  If you can turn the voltage down or use an external circuit to reduce the voltage in the specification of the Council, it would be better to ensure proper operation and extend the life of the Board of Directors to the extent.
