  Running Mac OS x. A large collection of my current bookmarks have disappeared. Backup files of bookmark of restoration since the days preceding the loss also lack the very large collection of current bookmarks. I checked the Firefox profile folder - there is only one profile on my system.

I finally uninstalled reinstalled FF7, FF8, asked Time Machine to return to the registered 'profile', and I am once more together. I'll add my voice to the many users who are frustrated with the numerous towers Firefox which in my case has led to 8 + hours of struggles of system I didn't have the time.

  I'm finally rid of IE8 after too many problems. But in IE8, even pages that had no icon associated with that web page display a default icon of IE imposed on a file icon image. But in Firefox, which shows an area dotted.

  "AddFS", I created a bookmark in a section called "Source of funds". In the Hyperlink dialog box, I went to select the bookmark "AddFS" and it was not stored under "Source of funds", but another, unrelated to subject called "transfer of funding sources. I tried to remove and re - enter the bookmark and hyperlink but the problem was not fixed. I use RoboHelp 7 and am a longtime RoboHelp user and have never seen this problem before.
  
  Is there a file were Favorites and their respective folders can be changed? The only patches that I can think of is to rename the original file to something that is not similar to the existing file; i.e. change "Source of funds" in the "system of funding Sources. The other is to remove the "Transfers of Source of funds" section and re-create it.

  Your solution does not solve the problem: use the view by file name value and then Project Manager add the hyperlink. When I select view by title theme and add a hyperlink, I see the bookmark listed under the wrong file. When I select view by file name and add a hyperlink, I see the bookmark in the file. It's definitely a change or maybe a bug that was not in previous versions HR 6.

  I run FF 31.2.0 ESR and I'm looking for a way to define some default bookmarks for all existing and new users. And if necessary, I want to update in the future.
  And I want that users can customize their bookmarks. But a few (about 5) bookmarks/links should be for the admin editible where the link changes.
  Someone at - it an idea? How can I do? Is it possible to create a 'public' bookmarks file with these 5 links, which will be imported at each start of FF and merge to the list of bookmarks private profilebased?

  My current version of Firefox is 28.0.

  What I already know, is:
  -backup of bookmarks (JSON) files are stored in folder
  "...\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ < xxxxx >. default\bookmarkbackups
  in the files like for example bookmarks-2014-04 - 27_770.json
  (or in any other place when you manually save).

  -only Favorites export files are stored in any place under HTML (XML) as a Netscape bookmark on your export demand.

  -the main difference between these two formats is that in the HTML ONLY the BOOKMARKS export file (URL / URI) and no. TAGS are stored.

  -the JSON backup file stores the bookmarks (Uri), tags and complete the structure of the tree. Firefox is therefore able to restore the menu bookmark complete with all its information.

  I do a lot of searching for information in internet. To support a work sophisticated with hundreds or even thousands of boomarks collected tags are absolutely necessary. And I often export bookmarks with tags to other browsers or social bookmark sites. So I have no idea why firefox doesn't support tags in the export files - because a large amount of bookmarks without tags is not easy to manage.

  My idea is to program a tool or an extension that reads a file backup JSON and constructs an HTML export file which also contains tags.

  The problem is that the internal structure of the JSON backup file is quite complex. It contains in fact 'id', 'index', information from 'parent' (fully digital) which allows to reconstruct the original directory structure. Same information on labels is somehow related to bookmarks. Actually the file has a complicated structure of lists and trees. And do not think that there is any identifier, e.g. "tags" which precedes the list labels attached to a bookmark (as in HTML export). In fact I could identify some of my tags in the file, but they are not named for example with 'tag' - I could identify them because I know they are some of my tags defined, but a program does not have this information and needs in General, identification tags in the file. Currently, I don't know any way to do this!

  Is there someone who has a better understanding of the structur of this file or know a specification that could be somewhere? Thans so much in advance...

  Note that easier to inspect a backup JSON is opening the file in Notepad, and then click the print enough to make Firefox display the file in the format.

  Opening in the sidebar is the default action for bookmarks created via a "Mark this Page" link or button on a Web site. Make sure you use many methods to "Bookmark this Page" located in Firefox instead.

  I have my favorites set as a sidebar fixed. In versions 2.0 and 3.0, when I open the tabs they were starting to the right of the bookmarks bar.   No, it isn't. This "control" is part of a regular toolbar now. Any element of the toolbar can be out on the tab bar, as with other toolbars.
