  In Firefox to. 31.0, I can add multiple bookmarks to the bookmarks bar, but if I added more than four bookmarks on the toolbar and then close Firefox, the next time I open it it there are only four bookmarks in the toolbar. I've been a techie years so I tried everything I can think of including adding bookmarks different ways... by slip and fall and/or 'Bookmark this Page', click on add to the toolbar but still, I allowed four bookmarks in the toolbar after a reboot.

• Import bookmarks into FF32 does not work. I tried swapping places that previously worked, I tried to import the bookmarks menu.

  It is a windows computer 8 that was RELEASED yesterday that I'm trying to set up again.

  I tried many suggestions - "you can try to delete the prefs.js file and the compatibility.ini file to force Firefox to reset profile." - tried but alone is not enough

  There are also some system # 4 - Windows 7 with FF31 which is my main computer - System #2 exists, as it was purchased for me but I've not used. I hate Windows 8 and hate the idea of moving all my files on it. But there are enough problems on this CPU as if I gave it away as a hand me down, I spent too much time trying to fix it for my spouse so they got a PC brand new instead of replace XP. When I gave them the XP that they had 'clean' with a fresh install of XP on one just cleaned HD.

  That should not happen, Firefox would have no reason to look for an old profile everywhere except the reader where the active Windows version is installed. Make sure you Show hidden files and folders in folder-> Display Options in Control Panel.

  I tried to move a subfolder of my bookmarks folder to alphabetize it moving it on my desk. It worked, but I couldn't get back in Safari. So I tried to restore the Time Machine Safari but it brought back my desktop and the button restore is gray. I am running Yosemite on one end of 2013 27-inch Mac. Time machine seems to work ok on other issues.

  You can only restore the entire file of bookmarks to a previous state. It is not possible to restore the individual bookmarks.

  Hello meghanw, you can click on bookmarks with this behavior, go to the properties and make sure that "open in sidebar" is not enabled.

  I upgraded firefox again 6 and there is this terrible bookmarks unsorted bookmarks menu. If is forced to the bottom which use to me and it's embarrassing. There seems to be no way to delete or move to a location that you have chosen. It is nice to have new features, some people may like this, but to make them static, so people who do not like this can't turn them off is not what use firefox as it seems, are becoming more like internet explore. If there is a way to move it or remove it, it would be useful.

  Sorry, this folder has been added to that scrolling in Firefox 6.0 because other users have complained that the Unsorted Bookmarks folder was not in this menu drop-down, and they would not have access to this folder through the sidebar or the Library window. Goes to show that you cannot satisfy all users, all the time.

  The Menu Editor extension has not worked for the menu bookmarks since versions of Firefox 2. IMO, it was never properly being updated so that changes made to the system of bookmarks for versions of Firefox 3 +. We are probably happy that it works at all that several years after the original developer stop updating itself.

  This works for me to hide it for me in the drop-down menus bar both the bookmarks BTB button (does not remove the separator it) 6.0. Either add it as a new script in Stylish or to a userChrome.css file that you create.
