  I want to know which of the two works is best for the preparation and covers each topic in great depth.
  1 oracle Database 11 g SQL by Jason Price
  2 oracle Database 11 g the complete reference by Kevin Loney

  Here is a book that got good reviews:

  Unfortunately, I don't have a copy, so this 'recommendation' is hearsay. It is very well regarded. Personally, I like to learn by example.

  The remaining books I mentioned are not specific Oracle (which, depending on your point of view, could be a good thing)

  I use the following book to learn SQL:

  I recommend this book with some reservations. In most of the solutions he gives he relies on totally artificial relationships in the data (relying on anything other than forced relationships in the data is a very bad thing to do!). If you study the way I do then, these bad solutions are actually a good thing, reworking poor solutions into something that is worthy of the production is a great exercise. Finally, if you have decided to learn by using this book, you will need to read the Oracle manuals for complete information (good thing to do anyway.)

  I consider this book a very good book. Chapter 2 is probably the best short, concise and lucid explanation I've read about how design and normalize a database, why index, no index on a column and other basic concepts of database design. (I want that most DBAs had read this chapter :(). Information on these topics are presented in a single chapter, however, they do a better job at what other books do hundreds, if not thousand + pages. Their explanation of the SQL language is good, but slow the pace for my taste. However, Chapter 2 alone is worth the price of the book.

  Finally, is something I recommend, do not learn only what the test requires. You want to KNOW your stuff. The test is a mere formality, being aware of what they ask, but do not limit your knowledge development in the area defined by the test.

• Problem connecting to the server by using the url with the logical name!

  Hi all!

  I looked for information on this subject, but have not seem to found a solution.

  I'm developing a Smartphone application that needs to connect to a server to retrieve data. Then I use a direct connection with the correct settings (I hope):

  URL = "url of the server" + "deviceside:true" + "AFN:...» »

  The problem is that the connection should be done without Hardcoding the "apn". These are the tests I've done so far (assuming I'm always add the ' deviceside: true ' parameter):

  URL (logical name) + AFN OK!
  FAILURE of the URL (logical name)
  URL (static IP) OK!

  * by logical name, I mean a url as www.google.com

  What I need is to use the logical name, without the parameter apn!  Maybe I'm missing another parameter that I don't know?

  Some additional info that might be useful! :

  -The server is a server of Vodafone, which, as has been explained to me, should be on the list of white of the RIM (not sure what that means, but I guess it has to do with the fact that BB connection through the RIM at one point servers, and be in this list gives a sort of 'privilege' when you browse servers of RIM) , and I don't know it is publicly accessible as (see following)

  -An android version of the application works fine without Hardcoding the AFN and using the logical name (I guess it has to do with the RIM servers!)

  Any help or ideas towards the solution that it is greatly appreciated!  If I'm missing some info that you think I should add! Please tell me!

  I could solve it by looking at the code of the alternative of the Api network in the link sent you me!

  The solution was the addition of the ConnectionUID parameter to the url String!  as to why this solves the problem I still don't understand it! (If you can enlighten me with the reason, I would be very grateful)

  This value is found in the service books!, I have the zip code just in case it helps someone!

• I don't know if I'm connected to a network. How would this knowledge? I've never read "Learning the Computer for Dummies"!

  How will I know if I'm connected to a network?  IP address conflict arises and I don't know what to do.  I forgot to get the book "Learning the Computer for Dummies", which I should have got that I'm completely computer illiterate!  Please, someone help!

  You can have an ip address conflict if you are connected to the internet through a wired or wireless router that allows two or more computers or other devices in your home to connect to the internet at the same time usually by means of a cable or dsl internet provider.  You can have this conflict, even if the computers in your House did not implement a network to share files and printers between them.  You can go to control panel > network and sharing Center to view network information.

  A common situation that can lead to a conflict of ip address, it's only 2 (or more) computers or other devices are connected to the router (via ethernet or wireless), and both have ip addresses assigned by the router automatically, one of the computers, then past in mode 'sleep', and while we sleep the router restarts.  When the router comes back online he doesn't know the computer sleeps is here and that he already has an assigned ip address and so it gives the ip address of the other computer.  When the computer asleep wakes duplicate error will be triggered.  It can be solved by turning off computers and turn it back on so that the router will assign them new ip addresses.  If this is not what is happening in your situation, the following may help: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Get-help-with-There-is-an-IP-address-conflict-message

• How to get the logical tab in the main area of 4.1.2 Data Modeler?

  I just installed Oracle Developer Data Modeler: Version 4.1.2.895.

  I was following section 2.1 development of the logic model

  I used the example of library. I added the areas.

  Then I tried to create the books.

  The document says:

  1. In the main area (right) of the Data Modeler window, click the logical tab.
  2. Click the icon of the new entity.
     
     

  But I don't see the logical TAB on the right side at all.

  I see the Start Page. On the far right is the browser window. Basically, I see Messages - Log.

  On the left side, I have the browser window.

  Can someone tell me please how to get the logical TAB in the main area?

• Advice on books for learning CS3 Master Collection

  I tried to learn as much as I can of tutorials and just concepts from around the web.  I understand that I will, but think a book or two could help me as well?  I have several sites that I visit from time to time, I don't need help on that front.  Can someone give me some advice on what I should buy the literature?  I have the CS3 Master collection, and I hope to learn Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere Pro, Dreamweaver and perhaps other programs related to web design.  I heard that the bible series is quite good, but since I'm still considered new I don't really know where to start.  And do not know if this is the place to ask, but as much web design is concerned, I also get a book for coding?

  Sorry if this is a topic that is requested every five seconds, but I looked around, as much as I could and it was literally my last option.  And in case anyone was wondering, I ask in this forum, because whenever I go in one program I usually end up in Photoshop, so I guess that those who know Photoshop, know as some of the other programs, also I don't really see a forum better suited to my question.  Any help with this is greatly appreciated.

  You'd better to buy individual books for each application.

  Some books try to have an overview of several different applications, but they only give the strict amount of information about each of them and are basically useless.

  Books like the Bible of series are extremely large (Photoshop CS3 more than 1,200 pages), but do not assume that more is automatically better.

  I think they do, some of them just to impress people looking for a book of instruction at their local bookstore.

  The Bible and a few other books include a picture CD and give instructions step by step using the provided images.

  But they do not really explain how procedures work and why you would probably using this procedure rather than another.

  They said basically that, now this, something else, etc.

  The series by Peachpit Press Quick Start Guide distributed with the intructions of step by step hand holding.

  He explains how and why to do things and has screenshots on every page to display menus and tools, as well as the de facto procedures using Photoshop.

  Only Quick Start books give complete information and are usually much more affordable, which is useful if you buy several books for different applications.

  Peachpit Press has also another series of books, their series of real world. These are bigger books but without the CD, etc.

  Over the past 20 years, I had a lot of different books, but in my opinion, Peachpit Books are the best of the bunch. Your mileage may vary.

  CS3 is old enough, I guess you're looking at Amazon or other sellers online. You might even be able to get a reduced price used books through Amazon resellers.

• Book bought in the iBook store will not open

  I bought a book via iBook on my iPad, but when I try to open it, I get the following message:

  «Cannot open _.»  It is formatted incorrectly, or is not a format that can open iBooks. »

  I think that iBooks would sell only books to open the app...  How can I solve this problem?

• How to assign to the logic of distance in a separate in Logic Pro environment physical port entrance

  Is it possible to assign the logical KEYBOARD with a separate entrance in the port of entry of environmental Logic Pro physics?

  I don't think so.  Logic of distance is considered to be a controller. Controller input data stream are made (by logic) before stopping the logic entry in physics. I "think" (I'm not an expert on remote logic) that the flow of midi is available on the port of the sum.

  I'm still not aware that you can change the channel of the South on the logic of distance. So it must be channel a (connected) and your other controllers must be able to have their midi outputs assign other channels if you demux their output.

  (please, correct me if this is not correct about the logic of distance - more conjecture on my part because I use remote logical not)

• address book shown in the composition

  When I open Thunderbird for the first time in the morning and compose an email, the address book which shows, 'All address books', instead of the one I use the most. I have not included 5, all addresses, personal address book, and collected address books. It seams to be a recent thing and not something that I chose. It was this that never address book that I used last would remain.
  Now it always goes to "All address books" once the program is closed and reopened.

• How can I add an address book other than the "personal address book"?

  My personal address book contains only the people associated with our homeowners association. I would like to create other books such as family, friends, golf groups, etc. I was not able to find a way to do this. It seems that the only options are the collected address book and the personal address book.

  2 address books you list are the default books for Thunderbird. You can add more if you wish.

• Mac Book stop with the movie in the dvd player, and now it opens in the reset password screen?

  I'm running OS X El Capitan 10.11.5 and my daughter and her friends used to watch a movie last night and stop it before releasing the film. • How to disable the MIDI to the logic of just my USB key

  Question: Where exactly should I do to disable the MIDI to the logic of just my USB key (I am sending them to another application and do not want it also picked up in L, but don't want any logical MIDI stop). And where does logic to send any MIDI out? I looked at all the prefs I can find, watched dozens of links tuts and docs online, nothing... It's so easy live, sigh!

  look out on the physical input and find your usb device

  New-> monitor (create this object)

  pull a cable from your usb device on the physical input to the monitor

  That's all

  When you want to run into logic once again simply remove the cable

  get that to work first, then we can discuss outings
