Boot Camp 6.0.0 and drive of Fusion 3 to - Go or NO GO?

All Mac users know, we try to launch FALLOUT 4 on our Boot camped iMacs!  It's GO or NO GO to try this with a Fusion 3 TB drive?

A Fusion drive, Windows is installed on the HARD drive part if BC Assistant is used. Windows will be slow. You must create a custom player fusion, if you need to install Windows on the SSD portion, but the SSD part is a skinny 120 GB.

    Hello

I have a MBP 13 "2015 i5 8 GB of Ram and 128 GB of storage, and I want to run windows 10 (for games) with boot camp (so if I'm right, OS X is off and Windows is on). I have parallels desktop and I can run windows 10 (located hard ext on my drive) but it is impossible to play with a virtual machine. So, I wonder if I can start and run windows 10 of my drive hard ext? I have only 128GB one my Mac using windows and OS X on it is impossible. Thanks for your help! (just to be clear: If you the solution works, if I disconnect my HDD ext all windows will be bug (or something like that)).

-Parallels Desktop (PD) is an application that manages a VirtualMachine (VM): this is a large file. PD can run at the same time as the OSX.

-Bootcamp is another partition on your hard drive where your Windows is running: it may not work with OSX, you start on the Windows partition or in the partition oSX; you do this partition and install Windows in there with the BootcampAssistant application. The BootcampAssitant can't do a Bootcamp Partition on an external drive as far as I know.

  • The Boot Camp Partitions drive and abandon

I am running OS X El Capitan, Version 10.11.5 early 2016, 12 inches and I am trying to load Windows 8.1 Pro using Boot Camp.  (ignore what is in the product box)

Boot Camp successfully created a program loading of Windows, including the Apple drivers on my USB.

I was able to successfully partition my HDD 256GB.  50 GB for Boot Camp and ~ 200 GB for my OS X.

After the partition, the Boot Camp program is finished and I have a screen with my Mac OS disc and my Boot Camp disk.   My Boot Camp drive is completely empty.

When I restart the Boot Camp, I gives me the possibility to remove the disc from Boot Camp.

How can I load Windows 8.1 on my Boot Camp drive?   Should I delete the disk Windows/Boot Camp Partition and start again?

Macs 2015 and more late do not use a USB Installer. Disconnect the external storage, launch BCA, delete the current Windows partition and start all over again. You must put the ISO of Windows in your Documents folder and it must be dismantled.

    Please see https://help.apple.com/bootcamp/assistant/6.0/#/bcmp173b3bf2 for help.

Apple only supports Windows XP and Vista under Boot Camp and in turn VMware support that that Apple supports.  That said implementation of VMware Boot Camp market partition a Virtual Machine is wrong and can be problematic, because Apple does not guarantee the name of BSD to a Volume and VMware does not explain this and that has its own set of issues and has been covered before in this forum, so I will not repeat.  Now, that said if you really want to try to virtualize a training Camp does not support configuration you can try creating a Virtual Machine around him by using a raw disk, and this can be done with vmware-rawdiskcreator, so take a look at my answers in hard drive not found as a reference to the use of vmware-rawdiskcreator.

Also by default on a normal Boot Camp partition Fusion Virtual Machine cannot interrupt / Snapshot Boot Camp partition Virtual Machine and I do not know the parameters of Fusion 2.x to add Virtual Machines to the .vmx config file when manually creating a Machine virtual Boot Camp partition and warns the user if you Suspend or instant Boot Camp created manually partition the Virtual Machine and then run it natively you can potentially damage is beyond repair.

Now you really want to take any chances, virtualization of an operating system not supported on the Boot Camp partition with a product that does not even support an OS supported properly under the current circumstances?

  • partition boot camp disappeared after resizing Macintosh HD

    Hello

I have a macbook pro with OS X El Capitan 10.11.6.

I had a windows 8.1 installed on boot camp and ran out of space on windows, so I tried to extend the space by adding a new partition on mac and then merge on windows using the "minitool' but when I rebooted with now that the ALT key was not the boot camp partition...

I then started the mac and changed the boot disk in boot camp and restarted and it gave me a message "there is no disk bootable..." or something like that.

It's really important not to lose the windows and more important still do not have to format the new laptop please (because I had a similar problem before Re: Partitioning a Hard Drive Error on MacBook Pro)

I tried to check for similar discussions but seemed to I'll do it is harder to resolve because I do not understand most of what is said and was afraid to do worse.

    Hello MayMedhat,

I understand the partition Boot Camp have been adjusted and you are no longer able to access the windows on your MacBook Pro.  Because you cannot access side Windows of your Mac after setting, you must recreate your Boot Camp partition and reinstall Windows on your Mac.

Set up Windows on your Mac partition

Change the size of the partition

It is not possible to change the size of the partition after installing Windows, but you can delete the partition and create a new partition to the correct size. Do not try to resize your Windows partition or a third-party application.

  • Boot Camp still exists but it is missing.

So my windows boot camp was getting full and I decided to partition space on my mac using the utility disk and then boot in windows to take this extra space. However, after doing this I don't see more my Bootcamp as a drive available when I take the option at startup. It still appears in utility disk showing the use of GB of my data on this subject, and it still appears in the preferences, where can I put my boot drive just not when my computer starts. So I tried to put the default value of start, but he told me that he has "No. Bootable Device - Insert Boot disk and press Any Key ' when I try it.

It would not be the end of the world if I forget my data and reinstall windows, but I would like to grow as a last resort because it would be an immense pain while I can re - download a lot of things many things will be permanently lost.

If anyone has an idea how to access my data in windows boot camp once again, because it is obviously still existing, I would appreciate hearing it.

I think I can just re - install windows. I learned that I could shoot the files that I would lose in finder. I went to Boot Camp and drag these files on my mac. Hooray!

    Hello

I tried to fix this for hours, I hope someone can help me.

I downloaded the ISO "Win10_1607_English_x64.iso" (4.29 GB) file and with him came a "info.plist" (2 KB), so they are both on my 64 GB USB Drive (format: MS-DOS (FAT32)) called 'WINSTALL '.

I have the ISO on the USB key, and it is selected as the ISO image in Boot Camp. I also have the USB the disk of destination selected, and yet I get this error:

Your bootable USB key could not be created

Boot Camp supports only Windows 7 or later installation on that platform. Please use a file ISO of Windows 7 or later installation.

I'm currently under OS X El Capitan Version 10.11.6 on my iMac (21.5 inch, end 2012) that is compatible with Windows 10.

If anyone can help me I honestly love so much, I tried contacting Apple Support staff by phone, they said that they can't do anything, I tried to contact their Live Chat, but none of this has helped to solve the problem, and I tried to look online, but can't find too much.

Thanks in advance for any answer!

What OSX Version do you have? This site gives the requirements of Bootcamp: minimum system requirements to install Windows on your Mac with Boot Camp - Apple Support. And you did an upgrade? Could it be that the upgrade will not correctly for the OS?

Looking at the 10 Windows version you downloaded, is the update of birthday, which was released less than a month ago. It could be that Apple is not reconisgin the Windows version when reading the disk, because it is too recent. I don't know if you have access to the download of the previous generation and do a Windows update?

  • Boot Camp 6 - Windows 10 drivers

I have currently a workspace Windows 10 bootable on an external hard drive that I have plug into my 2015 retina MacBook Pro. It works with my Mac because of the many Boot Camp drivers I had installed there. However, an attempt to get scroll work on my magic mouse (the only thing that does not work, oddly enough), I accidentally deleted a couple of drivers who make a programme of work that will give my scrolling the mouse capabilities. I also accidentally deleted some audio drivers, so now there is no sound. I thought I could get just the Boot Camp 6 I had and charge on that these pilots back, but unfortunately, I seem to have lost this file too! I scoured the Internet, but to no avail. Simply, I can't find a download for the drivers of Boot Camp 6.

    A little help, please?

Yes, you can download the drivers using the wizard of BC. (Older versions of Mac OS X also have equivalent facilities).

  • Boot Camp Windows 7 partition can preprocess

    Hello

I just got a new MacBook Pro 13 "(2,66 ghz), ran the wizard boot camp to install Windows 7 Professional 64-bit, then used the disk utility to create a FAT32 partition that is easily accessible by Windows and Mac." I did it by resizing of the Mac OS X partition, and then create a new FAT32 partition using the new unallocated space.

Everything worked so far, and I was able to start easily in Windows 7 and OS X.

However, when it came to VMWare Fusion, I couldn't boot into Boot Camp partition even for the first time. After hitting the "Run Windows of your Boot Camp partition" shortcut, VMWare is trying to preprocess for awhile before hitting this error:

"Boot Camp parition preprocessing failed. You may not be able to start your Boot Camp partition in a virtual machine. »

The virtual machine appears in the menu after it, but hit the button "Run" results in this error message:

I chased the forums and the closest, I learned to my situation is as follows:

    http://communities.VMware.com/message/1525899

I think this extra FAT32 partition might be the reason why VMWare has questions because I read about how the number of the disk could change when I added this extra partition. So I tried this step (http://communities.vmware.com/message/1423849#1423849) of the thread above but can't find not the entry of the disk/dev/or anything that resembles this entry in the plist (Yes, I properly open the .plist file using the xCode property list editor).

Is there anyway that I might be able to solve this problem by having perhaps VMWare to find the right partition?

    Thank you very much!

I chased the forums and the closest, I learned to my situation is as follows:

    http://communities.VMware.com/message/1525899

I suspect that this extra FAT32 partition might be the reason why VMWare has questions because I read about how the number of the disk could change when I added this extra partition. Then I tried this step (http://communities.vmware.com/message/1423849#1423849) of the thread above, but did not find the entrance to the disk/dev/or anything that resembles this entry in the plist (Yes, I open the .plist file correctly using the xCode property list editor).

The problem with multiple entries in Boot Camp in the library has been resolved in Fusion 3.1. However, even in previous versions, it was only a problem on systems with several hard drives. So, should not be a problem for you.

The two errors that you get ("preprocessing failed" and "resource busy") are likely related - of the preprocessing step probably fails if the partitions are occupied. This happens if there is a file that is currently open on one of the partitions. Try to disassemble the two partitions using disk utility before you start the merge.

Normally this shouldn't be necessary, but it is possible that disk utility the request disassemble a more energetic partitions. I would be interested to know if the problem happens again on subsequent starts of the merger with the mounted partitions.

I also recommend deleting the entry of Boot Camp VM library merger and recreate from scratch by clicking on "Run Windows of your Boot Camp partition" on the home screen of the library. It will pass through the stage of pretreatment again. The pre-treatment is required to correctly detect the guest OS type, the drivers for the virtual hardware configuration and the installation of the VMware Tools.

Windows 7 is much more user-friendly for the hardware changes, so it is possible to start the virtual machine, even without pretreatment (previous versions of Windows would get a blue screen because they could not find the boot device). If you want to use a VM Boot Camp without the preprocessing step, be sure to set the type of operating system invited to the correct version (Windows 7 x 64 for you) and manually install VMware Tools.

  • Resized Partition Boot Camp, is no longer work

I used the Tune Camp to resize my Boot Camp partition, which worked very well.  I can boot into Mac or my Boot camp.  But when I tried to load my partition Boot Camp in Fusion, I got an error message stating that I had to "remove my hard drive and then add it back."

So, I went into the settings of for my Boot Camp in merging partition and removed my hard drive.

But now I can not add it again.  I do not know how to proceed, and Fusion does not start from my Boot Camp Partition not more because he does not see any hard drive.

Can anyone help with this?  Or, can anyone describe how can I say merge to re - install my partition Boot Camp, or re - initialize somehow?

The following has not been updated for Fusion 3, but is still applicable in what to do as much as to try to correct the situation.  Because you used a third-party tool 3rd you can have inconsistent information between GPT and MBR and could require techniques advances in recovery of preforms however try which is below first.

Note: These senses are different which have already been posted so read and follow through... Note: These steps assume that you have a single Apple to default installation of Windows on a single Boot Camp partition and Boot Camp of VMware Fusion single default partition Machine virtual (without a snapshot *) and if you have changed the partition Boot Camp Virtual Machine to add additional hard disks to be virtual or RAW disk then do not use these instructions unless you backup the Boot Camp partition the Machine package virtual first. * Also note that Fusion 2.0.0 may accidentally have a snapshot with the virtual partition Boot Camp Machine and it should not have, then you should check to ensure that the condition does not exist as well. (With merger closed if the partition Boot Camp Virtual Machine package is over 1 MB in size, then you might have a snapshot in place and do not continue with these instructions.)

    ===

    1. If the merger is open, close it.

    2. in a Terminal (/ Applications/Utilities/Terminal) copy and paste command, as the following and then press Enter and it will delete the partition Boot Camp Virtual Machine of the metadata and the Virtual Machine to help.

Note: This does not affect the Boot Camp partition install windows in that it does not remove it.  Also be sure you copy all the command line below, as well as, "RM" at the beginning of the ' (quote) after the s in the Machines. "

  • VMware Fusion 3.0.1 will not partition Boot Camp launch

Ok. I'm ready to drop Fusion 3.x! That is the problem.

MacBook Pro (version 3.1), VMware Fusion 3.0.1, Windows 7, Mac OS 10.6.2. I set up a partition Boot Camp 3.0 and installed Windows 7 without any problem. I then installed application VMware Fusion 3.0.1. Started VMW Fusion and tried to start the Boot Camp partition. AHHHHHHHHHH! Following error code appears:

    "Could not open the disk" / Users/xxxxxx / / Library/Application Support/VMware Fusion/Virtual Machines/Boot Camp Camp/%2Fdev%2Fdisk0/Boot parition.vmdk' or one of the snapshot disks it depends on. "."

Reason: The partition table on the physical disk has changed since the disk was created. Remove the physical disk of the virtual machine, and then add it again. »

I uninstalled VMWF using the uninstall application. So to all the files that I thought may be affiliated. Then reinstalled VMWF 3.0.1. Same error message.

I have no idea what it is or what it means! Help, please!

This is not related to the 3.x (for example 2.x will have the same problem). The problem is that the table to partition your drive said he has and the VM wants to use the partition table does not match (maybe because you have migrated from another Mac and have a machine rest of virtual Boot Camp or repartitioned after the Boot Camp virtual machine was created). (UN) Fusion device does not affect the virtual machines, so that won't help.

Instead, leave the merge and delete the machine virtual Boot Camp /Users/$ the specified item was not found./Library/Application Support/VMware Fusion/Virtual Machines/Boot Camp. Then start the merger and allow him to recreate the Boot Camp virtual machine. As your data is on the Boot Camp partition, it is not affected by this.

Note: This assumes that you have not tampered with the virtual machine Boot Camp to add disks or snapshots or something like that. I don't remember any who never do this, but it is theoretically possible and if you don't you will lose data, so I mention it for completeness.
