Boot & Firmware SG300-28

I received a new SG300-28 with 1.2.9.44 FW and Boot version 1.1.0.6.  A couple of weeks, I got a SG500-28 and I udated on Sx500_FW_1.3.0.62 ros and Sx500_BOOT_1.3.0.03 rfb.  I checked for the current version for the SG300-28 and I downloaded Sx300_FW_1.3.0.62.ros but found nothing to START, but they do not have a zip of MIBs_Sx300_v1.3.0.59 which is a folder full of mib and my file, any file of rfb.

1, what is this MIB file for

2nd, why no update BOOT file

3rd, given that the number of revisions of the file is the same for both the SG300 and SG500 are indeed the same file or are they really adapted to the model where the name prefaced to the number.

4th, if the files are the same then could, should I use the SG500 for the SG300 STARTUP file.  As a general rule, I would never do that with knowing so nobody knows?  I find it odd that the SG500 had new files for both and the SG300 does not work or maybe I just don't yet found.

Hello Vini, traditionally start codes have been integrated in the firmware. On the old switches starting and firmware were 2 separate but which proved to be quite a problem.

If you try to load the Sx500 trunk to the Sx300 switch it will probably give error of unknown or incorrect file type.

    Ian heath,

    When you download:

    Sx300 Firmware Version 1.3.5.58

    Sx300_FW_Boot_1.3.5.58.zip

The ha zip file a copy of the firmware and also a copy of the startup code. The startup code must be upgraded via a tftp server. After that the startup code is updated, download and install the latest firmware version 1.3.7.18. (No bootcode with this one)

    Hello

I like to think to upgrade the bootloader file(sx300_boot-13506.rfb) first, before trying the firmware. Boot loader are on the same zip folder as the firmware.you can use TFTP server to upgrade the bootstrapper.

Interface WEB SG300 Cisco > Administration > file management > TFTP... When you select TFTP option for the fw 'BOOT' button is now available. Just type the name of the file and it should load the boot firmware.

You can do the following to list used by VM boot firmware

    Get - VM | Select Name,@{N='BootFirmware'; E={$_. ExtensionData.Config.Firmware}}

Or to not see that those who use EFI, you could do

    Get - VM | where {$_.} ExtensionData.Config.Firmware - eq "efi"} | Select name

  • WRT1900AC - brick? having firmware new flash hard

Then my friend tried to put OpenWRT on his WRT1900ac and he thinks that he he bricked. Of course, I'm done with the broken router.

I have two computers available to try to solve this problem, an iMac with El Capitan and a Thinkpad Windows 10. I have a USB-> TTL series adapter and I disassembled the router to access the terminals of series, I tried flashing the new firmware on TFTP but my utility doesn't even know something is connected to the COM (Yes, I have the right drivers)

Here's what it does. I turn on the router, and after a few seconds, the power LED flashes. So, if I have an ethernet cable plugged in, the corresponding led lights up. So many Windows, I put my network settings to force 192.168.1.1 and ping 192.168.1.1 succeeds... but he also managed when I turn off the router. (Yes I turned off all other network connections). When the router is turned on and I open a browser at this address, I get a blank page. The gui of Linksys TFTP cannot connect at all. (I get a message like "router has failed")

From my Mac, it's sort of a different story. I can't find a USB-> COM at all driver, so serial interface is released. But I can manually set my network to 192.168.1.1, ping it when the router is off, don't get no response (good) - I turn on the router, ping, come back successfully 64 bytes (good). I can open 192.168.1.1 in a browser and get the page of "it works!" But if I try to Flash a firmware using the integrated terminal TFTP protocol, I get a time out (as follows...)

    tftp 192.168.1.1
    tftp> binary
    tftp> timeout 120
    tftp> put firmware.img
    Transfer timed out.

So I am all out of ideas, are too recent for this problem in my operating system? I should go out by the live usb Linux Mint?

Use your computer for Windows 10, it will be easier to update the firmware.

    1. Install the version x 32 or x 64 http://www.jounin.net/tftpd32_download.html tftpd
    2. Then install Tera term https://en.osdn.jp/projects/ttssh2/releases/
    3. Once installed, Tera Term configure it to use the USB port to the port com TTL with the parameters 115200,8, no, 1 no
    4. Power on the WRT1900AC; You should see boot you after the release of text in Tera term; If you do not see the output, it is most likely that you have the RX and TX inverse series. Don't proceed to the next step until you confirm the serial communication is increasing.
    5. Press a key in Tera term during the second pause 5 pause of submarine appears. That you will get a u-boot prompt. Attention here because you can do a hard easy work if you run the wrong commands.
    6. Configure the network card in your computer to the IP 192.168.1.254 netmask 255.255.255.0, no gateway and no DNS.
    7. Connect to the computer via an Ethernet cable to a LAN of WRT1900AC port.
    8. The u-boot prompt, run "ping 192.168.1.254"; If the result is 'living' submarine can connect to the computer.
    9. Make sure your firmware is in the current directory of the tftp server and the tftp server is listening on 192.168.1.254.
    10. To the submarine command prompt run "setenv firmware_name my-firmware - filename.bin" for the WRT1900AC V1 or "setenv firmwareName my-firmware - filename.bin" for the WRT1900AC\ACS\V2 or WRT1200AC
    11. The u-boot prompt, run "run update_both_images" wait for the command to complete.
    12. Then run "reset" or the router power cycle

To display the u-boot firmware load vars courses run the below to the u-boot prompt:

    1. print Ipserver
    2. IPAddr impression
    3. firmware_name printing or printing firmwareName

In my view, the SRW series is the same as basic material the SG300 series.

Is there a way to update the firmware on the series SRW using firmware SG300?

The SG300 firmware is much more usable. Also I'd rather have consistency we have the old SRW2024/48 and new switches SG300.

    David,

    You are on point.

If you have purchased order p/n SRW2008 the updated version here in the United States that's so order p/n SRW2008-K9-NA

We made the change in order p/n for reasons of consistency so that if you ordered SRW2008 in the past you order now SRW2008-K9-xx

SRW2008 was a linksys product while replacing, SRW2008-K9-NA, is for example a Cisco product that now takes care of switching L3, IPv6 and a bearable CLI and a whole bunch of new features.

    SRW2008-K9-NA has a cisco SG300-10 p/n internal.

The history of my problem would be too long and tedious, I will simply say that I erased all (thanks KillDisk, it works very well ) my hard drive and now it is whiter than white! so I can not boot in any way: whenever I get the message "No disc bootable, change it and type any key to continue." (as if I could swap my hard drive from the laptop to the other!).
It is likely that I destroyed a boot firmware I need to reinstall but which and how? ...
If anyone can help me to restore my boot, I thank him (her) in advance.
    Sincerely, Michael.

Sorry, no help, but I don't have one of those less than 2 years, and after the last update of Tempro "ready for windows 10" it has become very slow, after stopping it just entered a 'repair auto/recovery cycle' on every reboot no matter how long it has been left in the market or off between reboots.
Before you take a hammer to it (I bought something else) I turned on it once more and finally he started to display the "no boot device - please reboot ' message. I tried to restart and each time after the "Toshiba leading innovation" screen it will 'check media' then ' no boot device - please reboot "-seems to be a common fault judging by the number of post about it on the web.
Too bad that my old Toshiba Equium, although his age now, ran 24/7 almost all of 9 years with no problems cannot complain on that one.

  • is windows 7 x 64 support MBR & GPT two partition types

is windows 7 x 64 support MBR & GPT two partition types

    Hi Afonso

It can be used as a boot volume on x 64 editions of Windows 7, Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008. From Windows Server 2003 SP1, GPT disks can also be used as a boot on Itanium-based systems volume.
Note Windows only supports booting from a GPT disk on systems that contain startup packages Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI).

    Creation of GPT disks

You can only convert empty, no disks partitioned (raw disks or empty MBR disks) in the GPT format. To convert a volume that contains the data, you must first manually remove the partition. You can use the following methods to create GPT disks:
After you install a new disk, open the disk management console to start a wizard that allows you to configure the new drive. The wizard includes options to initialize the MBR or GPT disk.
Initialize the disk later by using the option initialize the disk in the disk management console.
Note starting with Windows Vista, you can install a Windows x 64 on a GPT disk operating system, only if the computer has UEFI boot firmware installed. However, the installation of a Windows x 64 on a GPT disk operating system is not supported on Windows XP. Try to do so gives an error.
    Readers convert GPT and MBR

You can convert a format of partition in a different format. For more information, see the TechNet articles:

    Hello

I am some of our old blades (bl460c G8 and G9 passed without a hitch) upgraded to esxi5.5, but the installer crashes.

I tried every update of the 5.1 and 5.5 custom images HP, nothing helps.

Installer seems to run, but group then, as soon as the network drivers load (this is what I concluded). I applied the latest Proliant (2015.10.0) service pack, so firmwares are as up-to-date as possible (interesting note: with firmware older 2011 host installed successfully, but the network was unusable)

Some screens of 5.5u3 (hp cust):

Here the installation program stops loading:

    HPcust-esxi5.5u3-BL460cG7-loading.jpg

    And then he group:

    HPcust-esxi5.5u3-BL460cG7-psod.jpg

Any suggestion or any other resource, I might give a try (tried some vanilla, esxi ISO did not help)? I would really like the latter to join the main cluster, an upgrade of RAM and they could be running smoothly for a few years.

    That's what really happened:

    • The management of OA mutilated somehow update firmware, specifically the emulex driver, which made unusable and almost non-updatable
    • Only way to give the ANC emulex in a working state seems to be using the iso flash OneConnect (OneConnect-Flash - 4.9.311.20.iso) available here: http://h20564.www2.hpe.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?swItemId=co_128972_1
    • Once back in operating condition, the last SPP (2015.10 at the moment) can be mounted with the remote console to perform the update.
    • Once done, and even with the latest firmware of Emulex v10.5.155.0, ESXi 5.5u3 HP works fine.

A signal that the emulex firmware is corrupted is the boot firmware repeated message (which must appear only once):

  • IX2 - DL does not start after the firmware update and now in boot loop contant with double red lights

I just applied the update to the latest firmware 4.1.208.33789 for my IX2 - DL and it took an extremely long time to reboot - flashing white light for 20 min on the right.

Shooting and by unplugging power did the same result.

I hold the reset button hardware pin and now he's in a boot loop throw up double red lights and then attempt to restart with flashing blue white and strong.

Help! don't know what to do next.

I tried a few methods, but they do not seem to work.  If anyone can tell me the correct procedure or point me in the right direction would be great!

Here's a document on some older switches which explains the process.

It is different for the 6248 somewhat, but the concept is still the same.

Copy of the file Image of a server to Flash memory

Use the command copy of the image - the url of the source to copy an image from a Flash memory server file, use the boot system command to activate the new image.

Copy of a Configuration file from one server to the running Configuration

Use the running-config command to copy the url of the source to load a configuration file to a network server for the device running configuration. The configuration is added to the running configuration, as if the commands were typed in the command line interface (CLI). The resulting configuration file is the combination of the running configuration and the loaded configuration file, with the configuration file with priority.

Copy of a Configuration file from one server to the Startup Configuration

Use the command copy startup-config - the url of the source to copy a configuration of a network server file in the startup of the device configuration. These commands replace the configuration file starting with the copied configuration file.

Store the Configuration of starting or running on a server

Use the command copy running-config destination url to copy the current configuration file to a network server by using TFTP. Use the copy destination-url startupconfig command to copy the configuration file to start on a network server. The copy of the configuration file can be used as a backup copy.

firmware download also includes step by step instructions on how to upgrade the firmware.

  • Firmware 1.4.0.88 for SG300-52 seems to break DHCP relay

My VLAN to end my switches, so I use a DHCP relay with Option82 to distribute addresses for the subnet of the VIRTUAL LAN. After the transition from 1.3.7.18 to 1.4.0.88, DHCP isn't being delivered on my VLAN. Does anyone else have this problem?

I'm just creating DHCP relay for the first time with my SG 300-28, 1.4.0.88 firmware and noticed that the DHCPDISCOVER promulgated by the relay had the same source and destination (67) port, while the original DHCPDISCOVER used 67 & 68. In addition the 1.3.7.18 firmware is not exchange these autour:
