My Sony VAIO laptop works for a few years now without many problems (difficult). But all of a sudden (not not after installation of software/hardware) the computer turns off. Now when I turn it on, the loading screens have graphical bugs and then I get a blue screen crash. Then it shuts down, reboots and asks if I want to run in safe mode. If I run it in normal Mode, the same problem occurs. If I run in Mode safe (networking works too), everything works as it should in Mode without failure. • Installation: Windows Vista Service Pack 2... Now my computer will not boot

After you install SP2, my computer starts is no longer.

When I turn it on, it brings me to a black screen where I can choose to start windows normally or let windows search for a solution to the problem. I tried both - NOTHING WORKS.

I tried to restore my computer to an earlier date, let windows search for a solution, everything you can possibly do on the options list. Whenever I have let windows start normally, it brings me to a black screen that says "!" 0 x 0000034! "177/76190 (_0000000000000000.cdf - ms).

I am extremely frustrated. It seems that Microsoft has ruined my computer. Looks like I'm about to become a defender-apple... Unless this issue is resolved as soon as possible.

Have you tried the system restore, without success.

See if that will fix your problem:

Download the ISO on the provided link and do a repair of the disc.

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

  • Failure of Windows 7 Service Pack - keyboard missing filter driver - nothing this fixes

I have a Pavilion dv6, running Windows 7 (x 64) - the software that came with the PC.

Windows Update tried to install Service Pack 1 (KB976932) - for what seems to be a year now - and each time it fails during Setup and then "lies changes."

When troubleshooting the installation/configuration has failed, error code 80070490 is provided: device driver error.

Through "Devices and printers", I literally stripped off unit each for now only that the computer identified himself as a device (it comes to eliminate other devices to potentially cause conflicts).  When I "Troubleshoot" the computer through the "Devices and printers" page, it returns "Keyboard filter driver missing" - so I use the button 'apply the Fix '.  Troubleshooting is complete, and just saying "Keyboard Filter is not a driver" - "not fixed".

I used the HP website, specific to a computer driver download, under "Keyboard" to install the driver "AMD USB Filter".  Whenever I run the Setup, it says that the driver is detected.  I tried to fix it, unistalling/re-installing/changing - and each time, the "devices and printers" Troubleshooting is back with the same error.

I tried to use the automatic troublshooter of HP - but after his execution "HP devices Detection" and my PC model/serial number comes up (quite rightly) when I try to use the 'Scan my product' button, nothing happens.

Now, I do not how to proceed.

It seems that the Windows7 service pack is not recognize a "Keyboard Filter" - omitting so driver.  By using all the tools of HP that I can find, it seems that the most recent keyboard filter driver is installed.  Whenever Windows Update tries to install Service Pack 1 from the download/installation/configuration steps, my PC is hyjacked for about 45 minutes.  This cycle of 45 happens two or three times a day now... and as you might guess - always at an inopportune time.

Where should I go from here?  Thank you!

    Hello:

Unfortunately, I don't have any other suggestions that you can try to correct the error of keyboard filter.

However, you can do your own installation/repair W7 support by reading the info below.

If you want to try to repair the installation, select the option fix bottom left of the installation screen.

Repair installation will not require the use of the product key.

If you want to do a clean install of Windows using the media that you have done, you will be able to read the complete product key 25 character W7 on the bottom of your laptop.

If you decide to install the version of W7, remember that your restore partition will no longer work.

So, make a set of recovery discs before the clean install of Windows.

Instructions for making a drive of W7 installation/repair.

Download the version of W7 provided with your PC 32 or 64 bit W7 Home Premium/Professional/ultimate.

Your probably came with Home Premium.

Make sure you absolutely get the entire ISO file when you see the download complete message.

Sometimes, he reports the download is finished and your ISO file is a lot smaller that what he said was downloading.

Use the installation of Windows 7 USB/DVD tool to compile the ISO file that you download from Digital River. The link below. You need a 4 GB flash drive to use the method of compilation USB or DVD.

    http://download.CNET.com/Windows-7-USB-DVD-download-tool/3000-18513_4-10972600.html

Then go to the support of the PC and driver page to install the drivers you need.

Link to downloads ISO of W7 is below.

  • I have a Sony Vaio laptop model: vpcs111fm. After booting, the screen is small.

OK, I just do a fresh install of windows 7 64 bit on my girlfriend's computer. The installation went well as planned. I loaded the driver wifi on a zip drive earlier because the establishment of an internet connection was a priority for me... it was so that I could visit the Sony website and download the other necessary drivers. The screen seemed perfect after the new facility... the brightness has been on site.

After installing the drivers of several components, the screen greyed out on me. It has been plugged in all the time, so it was not a question of power. Display properties I want to adjust the brightness slider, but the screen will not clear up or protected when I do that. In addition, the combination of keys "fn/f5/f6" shows nothing. Infact, none of the 'fn' (hotkeys?) will not work.

Again, the screen is awesome when the computer is booting (splashscreen), but is extremely low, after reaching the office. any ideas?

side not: shows disk management that there is a partition for recovery, but I have tried all kinds of ways to access and failed miserably... just to access. pointers on this can be good too.

    Hello

I guess that you have a laptop, if your copy of Windows was preinstalled on it there is a big chance that the driver is built into your computer. To check, click Start > double click on C: > double-click the files to program files > (locate) double-click the folder of the cabins. From there, you can install your wireless driver.

However, if the instructions above does not work, then download the driver from the website of the manufacturer of your computer, they should have ALL the drivers for your computer. :-)

  • Satellite P200 - 17 c - Vista won't start up - how replace/repair boot.ini

    Hello

I have a Toshiba P200 - 17 c of the vista computer and it won't start, freezes on the splash screen. I have
used iso image to boot from and ran repair disk, makes no difference.
Machine will not get beyond microsoft loading page (with yellowish scroll bar).

My question is: How can I replace / repair the boot.ini file to get the machine to start or disable all applications / drivers for applications in order to get the machine to start.

I have not (my fault) create a back up or restore disk.
After booting the machine from cd, system repair running and try to run the system restore doesn't work...

Can anyone advise on a way to replace/repair boot.ini or turn off the drivers?

Try to avoid to pay another £30 pounds for a recovery disc that I already paid for the licensed software, don't know why.
If you pay because you do not get a copy of Vista with machine...

Anyway any help would be most appreciated.

    Hello

    > How to replace / repair the boot.ini file to get the machine to start or disable all applications / drivers for applications in order to get the machine to start.
I doubt that this could be done under Vista cannot modify the boot.ini as on Win XP OS.
To edit the boot.ini file you must use the BCDEDIT command.
However, I put t think it would start the Vista correctly.

    In my opinion you have two options;
You can use the safe mode and might attempt to start the Vista slim or you have to reinstall the entire operating system yet.
But I doubt you'll be able to start in safe mode if the system repair and system restore didn't work too.

So in my opinion the last real solution could be the new facility.

  • XP pro do not start after changing the Boot.ini file

The problem is that my C: partition Windows 7
    D: has XP Pro

These should be considered right resp. partitions 1 and 2?

I wanted to first XP pro to start the default partition.

A few days ago, I made a change to the boot.ini file. But since XP Pro was not starting at all.

I tried XP Pro to start first that the default partition.

Given that XP Pro and my D: drive have not been starting, I consulted the boot.ini file in C:, Windows 7 partition and I changed the order (i.e. partition No.) in the boot.ini file and saved it to the required location, i.e. D:/WINDOWS/pss.
through my drive C: of work, i.e. the partition of Windows 7, but it still does not work because apparently even though I save here, the actual values and the paths of the partition are not actually be changed on the system. I confirmed this by going into the CMD shell switching to D: and by running the command D: > bootcfg.
Apparently any values I save in the boot.ini file that I save as a text file or "All files" in D:/WINDOWS/pss/it does not actually change in the system because whenever I run the command bootfg values are remaining still and not able to be changed, because apparently it is not saved in XP Pro and the D : partition. No matter what I do and what I put in the boot.ini file to access the values through the windows 7 partition, the values that bootcfg returns me are always the same and he refuses to change the name of path or anything else. No matter what orders, I also put in bootcfg himself.

These are the values that bootcfg gives me:
    default: multi (0) disk (0) rdisk (0) partition (1) \WINDOWS

    Boot entries:
    Boot entry ID: 1
Friendly name of operating system: MS Windows XP Professional
    Path: multi (0) disk (0) rdisk (0) partition (1) \WINDOWS
The operating system load options: / noexecute = OPTIN/FASTDETECT/usepmtimer

My XP Pro partition is simply not booting, and it of my main partition and has all my work. It is imperative that it starts.

My Windows CD is also not start because apparently my DVD drive does not work properly, I had the anti malware threatfire (ThreatFire) installed on my XP D:Windows program disk but have uninstalled just in case it was blocking my changes to the system.

On C:Win7, I put the default operating system option in the Advanced tab for Win7 and the D:XP Pro to XP Pro, when he was the starter and work. Now I can only access my files D:XP Pro Player C:Win7. But XP is not just start. What shd - I do? Thks.

I don't have a very practical windows CD but my CD/DVD drive is not read and does not properly.

Looks like your original post stated that your cd/dvd does not work.

Respectfully, you will continue these hap hazard patches and your computer will not start at all. I'll try to help you once again. Please follow closely.

Start your computer by loading Windows 7. Click HERE and download EasyBCD. Install the software in trial version. Once installation is complete open EasyBCD. You will see an interface like the image below. Click Add a new entry.

A new screen appears as in the image below. Use the drop down menu to select Windows NT / 2 k/XP / 2 k 3 as described below. Type the name of the operating system in the box below. Of course, it will be Windows Xp (you can add the home or Pro to the name if you want). Make sure now that there is a check mark in the box "automatically detect the correct player. Once you have completed these steps click on 'add an entry '. That's all! You are finished. If all goes well, and if you have followed these steps carefully, there, now you have a system dual boot.

You can now start working on your cd/dvd problem.

  • Need code Win/XP boot.ini to boot Win7-System Restore from boot on another drive Manager

I'm migrating to Windows/7 Pro x 64 Win/XP Pro SP3 system on a tower of M58p 3063-B8U PC.  I would like to encode a Win/XP Pro boot.ini file line beginning on screen (choice of Windows 7 or system restore) boot manager which is located on a different hard drive, installed in the PC.   I find that F12 on the ThinkCentre BIOS screen is delicate and does not reliably to the top of the boot list, so for the weeks I'm going to need Win/XP Pro SP3, I want to select the hard drive Win/7 Pro SP1 via a Win/XP Pro boot.ini file entry.   As always, your help is greatly appreciated.

The end result is two panels 'boot' if Win/XP Pro is not enabled: the original boot.ini Win/XP Pro and the Windows 7 Boot Manager Panel and the restoration of the system that starts Windows/7 Pro in about 5 seconds.

    Thanks for your comment.

Your request can be resolved simply.

Help to change the file Boot.ini in XP does not work.  XP knows zero on a win7 bcd. Win7 does not have a ntloader.

You have 2 hard drives, 1 with xp, 1 with win7.

    Follow the link to sevenfourms:

    (1) set the bios to boot from hdd win7

You can see your screen. Now the BIOS is out of the picture.

    (2) use easyBCD to add your xp system to the BCD

    (3) during startup, you can select xp or all your options to win7.

    (4) when the transfer goes xp, it will present (second form), who will all be choices coded in the boot.ini file.

I think that will solve your request.

    (5) Note: the Bios selects the first active partition to find a boot loader, in this case, it should be win7.  on the HARD drive provided 1 in the boot list.

    (6) If you start to XP, you will also have the issue of win7 all deletion of restore points.

    (7) http://superuser.com/questions/225770/migrating-windows-xp-boot-ini-settings-to-windows-7-boot-loade...

    (8) personally, I unplug the Sata cable on xp then boot in win7 and vice versa.

    (9) Please stay on topic<>

The sevenfourns post also shows how to add win7 for start XP.  This also requires easybcd to add the loader win7 on xp system.

    Good luck.
