Boot mgr missing and HDT test didn't?

Hello I am working on a Hp G62 for my niece and she says boot mgr is missing and I ran the test HD and she didn't?

How can I get this operational computer? This model is only 7 months old...

Need a new hard drive if it has no diagnosis. The laptop has a 1 year standard warranty, HP will send a new hard drive, or you can substitute a detail 2.5 "SATA hdd. If she does not burn its set of recovery disks you will need to reinstall Windows.

    Hello

I recently bought a Samsung 120 GB 840 Evo Series SSD to start my operating system and general programs faster than my current hard drive. I want to keep my hard drive 2 TB of storage mass (videos, music etc...) but I want to migrate my OS on my SSD. I copied my Program Files x 86 for my SSD and I went into the BIOS and set my boot option #1 and #1 Boot priority to my SSD, however, after I save and exit the BIOS, I'm greeted by the message "Boot MGR missing - Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete to reset" and now I don't know what to do.

    Any advice would be great!

  • Boot MGR missing, Windows Vista,

Hey! so I have a Lenovo that runs on windows vista, and it had this nasty virus that I could only remove by resetting my computer back to factory settings (I saved most of my personal files) and if that wasn't bad enough, when I tried to restart my computer it says "Boot MGR is missing, press Ctrl alt delete to restart ' does NOT incidentally , so long story short, to fix it, I need to use the windows vista disc to repair the file, but I don't have the disc, but I have the key phrase that sits on the bottom of my computer when I bought it, so any suggestions regarding How can I come on a windows vista disc or download windows vista so I can burn it to a disc? preference for free because I already OWN Windows Vista?

    Hello

There are several methods to reinstall Vista.

There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

To reinstall Vista using their recovery disk/s, you start from the 1st recovery disk they provide and follow the manufacturer's instructions to reinstall:

You need to change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order:

How to change the Boot order in BIOS:

    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/SS/bootorderchange.htm

"How to replace Microsoft software or hardware, order service packs and replace product manuals.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/326246

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer/laptop there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.

The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

Ask them to the proper key sequence.

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

Vista Media recovery obtaining and/or using the Vista recovery on your computer Partition to factory settings .

There is no Vista free download legal available.

Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.

See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.

Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...

Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.

Also ask them if it is possible to do the recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.

They will tell you how to do this.

Every computer manufacturer has their own way of making recovery disk/s.

Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

    High, everyone,

For the second time in 7 weeks, I had to go through a recovery of the system for the new brand hdx16-1155 bought end of March 2009. I went through 174 incidents of blue screen of death in only 7 weeks. And had the ( Boot MGR is missing, press CTRL + ALT + DELETE to restart) twice.

In both times, the recovery disc I made (BENQ DVD + R) failed with error 1002: 'contact hp support.

The machine was purchased in Dubai and Cairo Egypt. So turning the product was possible but expensive. Office of HP in Cairo recovered my system on 28 April for free. They also offered the original hp recovery discs, to be delivered to me within 10 days for E£ 400 ($72). But I said no and I wish I hadn't.

I have followed closely what they told me after the first round. health check used hp and windows update for updates.

An important external hardware that I have connected the hdx16 was SlimBlade wireless mouse and a keyboard. I do the slimblade sometimes to connect the computer to the LCD tv to escape the first heat and watch videos on the big screen hdmi.

I checked and found the SlimBlade compatible with vista 64. Or what they say. But you never know. SlimBlade wireless usb connection would be the culprit? Or do I need to return the product to hp to check every thing?
