Boot on HP ProBook problem

original title: help! Boot on HP ProBook problem

My 4015 s ProBook HP with Windows Vista does not start in normal mode or safe mode. I could run a recovery program to get the system to its original settings, but then I lose files. I don't have a boot cd. Someone at - it ideas how start the system again and save my files on my hard drive?

Follow these steps to try to solve your problems of boot.

If Safe Mode does not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:

Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

Link above shows what the process looks like and a manual, it load the repair options.

NeoSmart containing the content of the Windows Vista DVD 'Recovery Centre', as we refer to him. It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.

Read all the info on the website on how to create and use:

http://NeoSmart.net/blog/2008/Windows-Vista-recovery-disc-download/

ISO Burner:http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html

It's a very good Vista startup repair disk.

You can do a system restart tool, system, etc it restore.

It is NOT a disc of resettlement.

And the 32-bit is what normally comes on a computer, unless 64-bit.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Data recovery:
1. slave of your hard drive in another computer and read/save your data out there.
2. put your Hard drive in a USB hard drive case, plug it into another computer and read/save from there.
3 Alternatively, use Knoppix Live CD to recover data:
http://www.Knopper.NET/Knoppix/index-en.html
Download/save the file Knoppix Live CD ISO above.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/isorecorder.htm

Download the Vista software from the link above.

After installing above ISO burning software, right click on the Knoppix ISO file > copy the Image to a CD.

Knoppix is not installed on your PC; use only the resources of your PC, RAM, graphics etc.

Change the boot order in YOUR computer/laptop to the CD/DVD Drive 1st in the boot order.

Plug a Flash Drive/Memory Stick, BOOT with the Live CD, and you should be able to read the hard drive.

When the desktop loads, you will see at least two drive hard icons on the desktop (one for your hard drive) and one for the USB key.

Click on the icons of hard drive to open and to understand which drive is which.

Click the icon for the USB drive and click on "Actions > Change the read/write mode" so you can write to disk (it is read-only by default for security reasons).

Now to find the files you want to back up, just drag and drop them on the USB. When you're done, shut down the system and remove the USB key.

See you soon.

  • dual boot Windows XP win7 problem

    Salvation; have installed winxp. installed win7 win7pro started but winxp error hal.dll lack. Used easybcd to set the winxp boot problem but win7 is lost in the process. XP also had a procedure entry point error decodepointer is not not kernel32.dll. So I repaired the installation of xp and of course lost my sp3 and install that once again.

    So here's the question. How to get win7 and how do I get the two BONES to start. Please keep in mind that the two are installed and xp starts and was the first installed.

    3 partitions. XP 60 GB, 7 60 GB, the rest of the storage of 1.7 to disk.

    There is a guide here

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-GB/Windows/install-multiple-operating-system-multiboot#1TC=Windows-7

    Another alternative, because you have Win7 Pro, is to use the XP mode (download free for Windows 7 Pro or better)

  • ESX boot after power failure problems

    All, morning

    I think that this may be a simple problem to solve, but for the moment I do not know how. We had power cut which lasted longer as backup ups, where the two ESX servers has dropped recently. One came back without problem however it is not. When its turned on it gets to the boot menu, and when the normal startup mode is selected it panic the kernel with a disk error (device missing or similar - can confirm if need be).

    However, if I reboot it and select the debug mode in the start menu it starts very well, starts as usual and will run from VM. This leads me to believe that disks, files, and the BONES are fine and the problem in the config, could be damaged as a result of the unclean shutdown? I did some looking around and read a post on the repair of the boot sequence using the command: esxcfg-boot - r - could not however quantify if this was relevant in my situation or not.

    Any advice greatly appreciated.

    Check UUID in /boot/grub/grub.conf:

    (1) boot VMware ESX Server UUID (root=UUID=c087c715-534d-471e-a023-!@#$%*) is similar with your server VMware ESX (debug mode).

    (2) VMware ESX Server (root=UUID=c087c715-534d-471e-a023-!@#$%*) returns with "/" inside the / etc/fstab

    p/s: while you find how u hav thought about to reinstall your esx that can be done in a few minutes.

    It's interesting...

    Try to convert the installation to a USB flash drive installation DVD and run this tool.

    There is a readme file on the link for the use of the tool and how to convert the DVD into an ISO file to use on a flash drive.

  • Boot Acer Aspire E1 problem

    I have an Acer Aspire model E1 Q5WPH, runnng Windows 8.  All has been well until this week when the screen started flashing random colours.

    I put the power off and then it won't start back upward.  Power seems to happen as it starts the DVD player, but then the power led goes off - then turn it back on and the process continues until I turned off the machine again.

    Is this a known problem and is there anything to do about it?

    Thanks in ADVANCE!

    Hello

    Power off with the active UEFI USB device inserted into the PC. Now, turn on the PC and press ESC then press F9. The USB device should now be indicated by EFI.

    Most active UEFI PCs I've used require UEFI enabled devices to be connected to the current time in order to be recognized.

  • Boot HP Pavilion G6 problems

    I have a HP Pavillion G6 with Windows 7. I keep trying to start the computer, but it won't let me start Windows normally and forces me to go through the Startup Repair tool. I tried to boot into safe mode and normal mode, but every time it goes through the boot and repair repair just continuously runs without doing anything. I let it run for 45 minutes without any modification and then forced the laptop to turn off. What can I do to start my laptop normally?

    Hello

    303 for the short drive Self Test error code would indicate that hard is defective and must be replaced.  This is also consistent with the question of commissioning.

    If your laptop is still under warranty, contact HP and arrange for the disk replaced - you can check the status of your warranty here.

    If you live in the United States, contact HP here.

    If you are in another part of the world, begin here.

    If you are out of warranty and would like a guide to replacing the hard drive yourself, let me know.

    Kind regards

  • Boot Vista 32 bit problems

    MacAfee bypassed downloaded Trojan horse on my laptop a few months ago.  I bought Malwarebytes pro who has found, quarantined, and even removed. Since that time? While it fires without problem, my laptop does not always load windows correctly and must be repeated started or have removed and reinstalled battery to start windows.   Eventually windows will open and operate normally. It doesn't have the standby mode only after being completely closed. I just got a clean stall re done by the shop where I bought it cost £80 and the problem persists.  Get the sympathy bit or not at the dealership.  I managed to find how to use the HARD drive recovery disc I made myself and picked up the phone to the factory settings.  As I handed out programs, startup problems are still there?  Diagnostic test indicates no problem, have also run chk disk that does not solve this problem

    Hello Anthony662,

    Sorry, you experience this problem.  Reading your posts, I show, you have a recovery disk, but you have an installation for Windows Vista disk?  If you do or are able to get one, I suggest to perform a repair of the start-up of an installation disc.

    Do you have confirmed that your laptop is updated with all the drivers, BIOS and FW?  I suggest you look at the manufacturer's website to see if there are any new updates.

  • Boot Dell Inspiron 560 problem

    I've had my Dell Inspiron 560 with Windows 7 for about 4 months now and a few days ago I was turn my computer as always and as I do the light is solid blue and I can hear the fans start to move, but my screen is black. I know that the problem is not my screen because I unplugged and plugged back in as "Dell" screen and then the screen would go to power saving mode. I unplugged and plugged all the cables and I will always have this problem. I've also pressed the power button and I it would hold for about 3 seconds until I hear it turn off with a beep. Please help me.

    Yes, the motherboard is a replaceable part and can cost $100 +, as well as S & H, these motherboards are generally used, alias "renovated".

    But, if the motherboard needs to be replaced, before you buy, check the cost of the purchase of a computer, nine or of occasion.

  • Boot Camp Windows 10 problems

    Hello.

    I bought a USB with Windows 10 on it. I also downloaded the 64-bit Microsoft Windows 10 ISO file format. I'm using a 27-inch iMac, end of 2013. Unfortunately, when I try to install Windows, I get the following message:

    "The earlier versions of windows don't are not supported - please use a DVD or USB drive that contains Windows 7 or later."

    I do not understand this, because as I said, my USB has 10 Windows. Why computer don't read this correctly?

    Thank you.

    Your Mac 2013 uses a USB Installer. Use the ISO official Microsoft, available at https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/home and put the ISO in your Documents folder. Run BCA and connect a flash white/MBR formatted FAT32 USB 8 + GB drive. Let BCA create Setup, partition your drive and run the installer. Do not interrupt the installation program manually.

    I would recommend contacting ASP, guys in your country and ask for later handling.
