  This hard drive is formatted in FAT32? This may explain why you have a limit of transfer of files (4 GB) at a time. If that's the case reformat the drive in NTFS format (first save your data). Hard drive formatted in NTFS will not file transfer limit and will be more stable. Hope this helps you.
