  Please check with this step:-Acrobat > Edit. Preferences > General > in Basic tools uncheck the option for "documents open as tabs in the same window", and then click OK.

  Well, PSE2 came out LONG before the existence of Win7. Microsoft has changed many things in XP, Vista, Win7, Win8 and now Win10 crossing. With each new version of PSE, we certify course against then them available versions of Windows, but we don't go back to all versions of PSE and update to try to follow. It is not surprising that PSE2 will not work on Win7.

  Sorry, but the only course of action would be to buy an upgrade to PSE14 (the current version)

  As the owner of a previous version, you qualify for upgrade pricing. That right now, we have a promotion where the sale price is actually cheaper than the upgrade price. (I know, it is meaningless)
