Breaking a large file.

I have a big file of thousands of files in the directory, iTunes (latest version of iTunes on my MPPro). It takes forever to iTunes to do something with it, so I want to create some folders more called for example like the As, Bs, etc. I tried to open the Finder to the iTunes music management and manually create all new folders I need, copying the subset suitable file everywhere and then by creating a Playlist the same as the name of the folder and they appeared and played OK. The Info told me that the file was in the new folder. NOTE that I did not any action in iTunes other than the actions above to create Playlists. Then, I removed the large folder from iTunes by the selection of the album and did remove CMD. It seemed to remove the large folder and its files to the trash. BUT the files in individual folders that I created has disappeared! Why? I would like to know, but essentially, how do I get security do what I want to achieve and get rid of the big issue for good output intact files splitting?

Thank you.

It's a Mac. When you move files in the same volume OS X will that they are always accessible by commands of the file. I hope that you can restore everything back to the way it was before. There is no reason to assume that change the physical layout on the disk will have no impact on performance. This is more likely to be in a relationship of strength among securities and smart playlists. If space is a problem, it is best to move the entire library on a new large enough drive for the home only and option Start iTunes connect on the new path. For more information, see make a library of portable split .

When I put a large file as a 7 GB (iso image) on my hard drive that is connected to my router, the connection breaks down in the middle of the copy process. I tried two different but the same problem, so I figure it has to do with the hard drive. Smaller files are no problem. Is there a timed setting or something?

    Who can help me?

Wahoo! I solved the problem. FAT32 only allows files under 4 GB. So I formatted NTFS hard drive and now the speed increase and I managed to put a 7 GB file on the hard drive.

Thnx for answering in any case.

By the way anyone know IF and how I can access my hard drive / storage location in a different place then my intern netwerk for example through the internet?

  • HttpConnection, OutputStream cannot process large files?

I am trying to download images 2 MB + my flashlight (using the option of large default image of the device) to a server over WI-FI.  I use HttpConnection and OutputStream to write the data.

It seems that the multipart http getting blurred with this large files.  When I change the settings of device in the Middle camera, everything works fine.

No, my server isn't the problem.  I configured and tested, and it may take more than 5 MB files.

I think that the problem is with HttpConnection/OutputStream.

Here is the request of multiple parties for size MEDIUM (300-600 KB) images.   Note the JPEG image data after Content-Type.  Images of this size are downloaded.

Looks like demand for LARGE images (camera > Options > Image size > Large) 1.9 to 2.5 MB in size.   Note the JPEG section disappeared after Content-Type.

For files of this size, I get TCP Out-of-Order messages and my web server gives an error 400 (bad request.

    Relevant code:

           // write content        out = httpConn.openDataOutputStream();        out.write(getBoundaryMessage(fileKey, fileName, mimeType).getBytes());

            // file data        int size = 8196;        byte[] buffer = new byte[size];        int total = 0, count = 1;        in = fconn.openInputStream();        while (true)         {            int bytesRead = in.read(buffer, 0, size);            total += bytesRead;            if (total > 0 && bytesRead == -1)                 break;            out.write(buffer, 0, bytesRead);            result.setSent(total);        }

            // send request and retrieve response        int rc = httpConn.getResponseCode();

  • 4.2.3/.4 data support assistant - slow when loading large files

    Hello

I use the load data wizard to load csv files into an existing table. It works very well with small files up to a few thousand rows. When loading 20 k lines or more loading process becomes very slow. The table has a unique numeric column to the primary key.

The primary key is declared to the "shared components"-> logic-> "data loading tables" and is recognized as 'pk (number)' with 'case sensitve' set to 'No '.

When loading the data, these Setup executes the following query for each line:

    Select 1 "Klaus". "' PD_IF_CSV_ROW ' where upper ("PK") = upper(:uk_1)

which can be found in v$ sql view during loading.

It makes the process of slow loading because of the superior function, no index can be used.

It seems that the setting of "case sensitive" is not rated.

Removing the numeric index for the key primary and with the help of a function based index do not help.

Explain plan shows an implicit conversion "to_char":

    UPPER (TO_CHAR (PK) = UPPER(:UK_1)

It is missing in the request, but perhaps that it is necessary for the function based index to work.

Please provide a solution or workaround to load data Wizard work with large files in a reasonable time.

    Best regards

    Klaus

You must have the correspondence of PK to be "exactly - case-sensitive" (or something like that)

In addition, I was already on the slowness with Oracle Support when dealing with important content.

They are aware of the problem.  Only around is known to break up the data into smaller segments.

(I'll have to track down the correct ID for reference...)

    My observation:

APEX data loader makes a slow-by-slow transformation of the data instead of treatment in bulk.

You will need to break up the data, or to build your own data loader.

    Thank you

  • How to move large files from backup of a disk to another drive

I have a very large backup file I want to go from a hot spare for the other. When I followed the instructions from Apple to copy with the finder, the operation fails after several hours. Is there a better way to move very large files?

Try using disk/restore to copy the backup to a new location. Please note that this will reformat the destination partition.

  • I got 'Firefox out of the html5 offline storage space' error message download large files

I got this message when I try to download a large file from a Web site, after a few GB have been downloaded.
The site is a "cloud storage" with their own method of downloading, so it's not an error in Firefox, but perhaps I can fix it through some configurations. I tried to change some words: the configuration settings, but it does not work.
Please, I need to know how to increase this space, or if there is a way to clear this cache without closing the browser (I see the partial file, I am downloading to grow up in a personal folder outside the temporary folders in Firefox, so I think that the cache is not necessary after all).
    Thanks in advance.

    See:

Firefox has no limit on the size of the IndexedDB database. The UI will just ask permission to store BLOBs larger than 50 MB. This quota of size can be customized through the dom.indexedDB.warningQuota preference

  • Time Capsule freezes when I'm downloading a large file!

    Hello everyone!

I have a very unpleasant problem with my Apple Time Capsule 2 TB 5th generation.

I have 2 Iphones, AppleTV and 2 Macs in my wifi network, everything works great! But when I download a large file with an Internet torrent falls after 10-15 minutes... a green LED shine on the Time Capsule, Airport utility tells that is connected to the internet, but not of my devices has the internet connection. It lasts 15 to 20 minutes and internet recovers by itself. Nothing really helps with this, I tried to restart, change the settings, but nothing helped.

WITNESS, no errors, once again, green is connected to the internet but no internet.

My cable modem works, if I connect my appleTV to the modem cable through the cable, it will be the connection. At the same time, if I connect my appleTV to the Capsule of time via the cable when it is frozen, appleTV won't have any connection.

The same story if I download to the hard drive of my Mac or time Capsule.

I have an idea that Time Capsule is overheating, but again, I don't see no error.

    I'd appreciate any help!

Torrents can overwhelm the NAT to a router table.

In the torrent client reduce the speed and the number of seeds.

Which modem cable do you have?

Looks like it's a gateway device not a pure modem so the TC may be in evil mode?

    Also, who is your ISP?

If they are moved to IPv6 which can also introduce issues.

  • format hard drive for windows and larger files, TV supports

    Hello

pls suggest me with the solution to the following problem.

I need to know what format of hard drive works with mac, windows, & TV too, even for large files and quality bluray movies

FAT32 only supports files up to a maximum size of 4 GB, which would be certainly much too small for Blu - Ray quality media.

exFAT supports files of unlimited size effectively, Mac and Windows can read and write to exFAT to format external drives but neither can boot from such a unit. If a TV or other system supports exFAT drives, you need to check yourself formatted.

NTFS supports files of unlimited size indeed, Mac can only read NTFS, it cannot format or write to NTFS, unless you get an add-on. Of course Windows supports NTFS. Again, you will need to check if your TV etc supports NTFS. If you want to add full support for NTFS to a Mac, I recommend this - https://www.paragon-software.com/home/ntfs-mac/

HFS + is the current format of Apple and new supports files of unlimited size effectively. Mac can of course read, write and format disks. Does not support the Windows as a standard HFS +, but still, you can buy an add-on for Windows Add this feature. It is extremely unlikely that a TV would support HFS +. If you want to add full support for HFS + for Windows, take a look at this - http://www.mediafour.com/software/macdrive/

There are also other formats of disc for example ZFS and BTRFS, Ext3, Ext4 and soon SATF, but in this case, they are not relevant.

Note: as indicated above, in many cases, I said 'actually unlimited', it is of course a limit, but one so great that he will strike you not for individual files, including Blu - Ray or even files UltraHD (4 k).

  • Large files of HDTracks no longer correspond to the import.

New file large songs/albums of HDTracks used for correspondence, but new additions no longer. ITunes will import and play, but they are not. I know files over 200 MB will not be transferred to iCloud, but they used to Match the iTunes versions.

The albums consisting of large files of M4a song used for correspondence when they are imported and those previously established correspondence are not matched, but new albums for the past 2-3 months no longer match when they are imported. "ICloud music library Update" seems to have no bearing on this.

The only work around I have found is a pain - I have to rip the HD to a CD album and then import that match CD, which creates duplicates that so successfully. I assume that this is because the file size is now less than 200 MB. So, while that gets songs paired and available on my other devices, I then two versions of each song on my computer for music, a quality HD and a quality one, CD which actually a pain to listen to the HD titles and manage music.

Why the change? Is there any solution for this?

    Thank you.

    Hello

Has there been a change? I can't say yes or no because I converted tracks using XLD ABA before adding them to iTunes. I use two libraries, a match that I use for my iPod / iPad, one for my HD and ALAC music I play through my stereo.

I think you answered this in your post in 2013 Re: why 88kHz/24 bit alac files ineligible to the upcoming game?

  • 3 GB MD033 Time Capsule data rate lowers up to 5 MB/s during the transfer of large files

    Hello, guys!

My MD033 (2011) / 3GB TimeCapsule lowers throughput for the disk transfers built up to 5 MB/s.

Is this a bug or feature?

This bug has been present for early 2013. Since then, I changed 2 iMac 27 and 1 iMac, retina. Traded my TC three times by Apple Care coverage. Change a cable connection from TC to iMac twice. Problem remains. A persisted on all platforms of Cougar to El Capitan.

Video which revealed a problem can be found here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/b3ve9w53ixru5rv/IMG_0700.MOV?dl=0

It ALWAYS happens. No exclusion. Sooner or later, transfer rate drops to 3-5 MB/s

NOTHING similar happens when I copy a large file to a PS located in the same network. 50 - 70 MB/s ever.

I just work on the same problem thread.

irregular flow oddly with two TCs problem

It starts fast and then slows down to a crawl.

I don't solve it on the other thread... so let me ask how much patience you have and the ability to diagnose network problems?

    I don't have a miracle solution... money.

(Actually a single shot of a 3030 fix it permanently..!)

If you are willing to continue what I'm happy to try...

NOTHING similar happens when I copy a large file to a PS located in the same network. 50 - 70 MB/s ever.

This indicates that the TC is not the question... It's the Mac that has problems. (PS = PlayStation?)

    In the Mac

    You must have OFF wireless.

It is better to use Configuration ethernet with link-local only for IPv6, except if you need full IPv6... Tell me if this is the case.

I do the same thing you are. But I can't reproduce your slowdown.

Open the activity monitor and track your use of the CPU. A single process hits 30% usage during playback... Therefore, it is quite high.

Also check the network. Read (green) and Write (red) make the perfect range scans.

I wonder if the TCP window is set incorrectly by default in your computers... I use a Mac Mini i7 with SSD is fast but 2011.

It is difficult while I can't reproduce the problem.

  • Re: Satellite Pro U400-160 - freezes when copying larger files or videos

    Hello:

I have a Satellite Pro U400-160 and a VERBATIM external hard drive USB eSATA combo.

If I turn on AHCI mode recognizes the drive, but when copying the video files or large file size, the system is frozen. However if I remove the mode AHCI works correctly. I have the version 9.8.9.1023 Intel (r) Matrix Storage Manager and my laptop BIOS v4.0 and Windows Vista Business.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

Normally the AHCI mode has nothing to do with an external HARD drive. It is only important for the internal HARD disk if you install Windows.

Anyway, you have installed all the updates of Windows for Vista?
In addition, you should test another external HARD disk or with another cable.

    Welcome them

  • Firefox crashes when uploading large files

When downloading large files as a 4 GB of linux DVD image, firefox starts to accumulate the memory usage. After downloading the / 3GB, it takes about 4 GB of memory and then crashes because it can't possibly get any bigger. WHY would he do that? In previous versions of firefox, it created a .part file and stored all the data in there. But at the moment it stores EVERYTHING download in memory and then directly saves it in the file. No disk .part files.

I found the culprit. The only addon installed: Firebug!

This seems to be a bug that was introduced in a later version. I use this addon for about 2 years now and never had such problems. I'll contact the author of this addon.
