Bridges 2 1552 for high availability using

Switches: 3560

routers: 2811

AP: 1552e

We have 4 1552 AP we would like for installation in a point-to-point environment. Currently, they are light but would make us independent for this scenario, unless there is a feature in the controller that would achieve what it takes I don't know.

We would like to implement in pairs on each side with the 1st goal consisting of high-availability so if one goes down there is still connectivity. Our second objective would be to use the two AP for higher bandwidth.

I thought I'd try to configure a port channel, but as I read it, you can't do it, but I would like to know if I'm wrong. I saw where someone else tried to do the same thing in the forums and there were some responses, but the links do not work for me.

http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/partner/products/HW/wireless/ps5279/products_tech_note09186a0080736199.shtml<----- doesn't="" work="" for="">

Just look at showing up in the best possible direction. It seems that routing should take care of what we need, but would like to see if there are any other avenues.

Thanks in advance.

The best thing you can do is to configure each P2P connection as a trunk and use priority of vlan spanning tree in order to balance traffic between the two links.  You can't really bundle, because the bridge that sends the traffic expected for the traffic to come back through it.  It's the best way to use the two bridges, this is how it has been done in the past and how its still quite well done.

Thank you

  • Infrastructure for high availability

    Hi all!

Stage en currently, Lun project is to implement Davis high availability vmware to deploy it later.

After a lot time on the tutorial, I realized to a high availability system, to 2 ESX servers, a minimum en SAN Bay.

Normal after the Vmotion solution seems to me the best. So that Vmotion works must implement vCenter Server integrated into a field.

My question is about how many card to pay the ESX servers? According to my research, I AI 3: 1 LAN, SAN 1 and 1, pour Vmotion if I don't me not mistaken.

Then the question that arises is or place vCenter? Place it in a virtual machine or in physics?

According to what I've read, the best would be to put it in a virtual machine. So in this case, is it possible to put the DC also in a VM or does is in physics by taking into account the possibility of "unavailability.

Another question: should Hook the ESX version with a license or a version ESXi is sufficient?

Thank you in advance if someone would have an opinion.

    Hi Tatuxp,

    Welcome to the VMware forums.

Pour a DC Windows Virtualization, you can find a lot of info in this document:

You can't start a band with the free version of vSphere. You'll have more info in the FAQ:

Pour the network config, it depends on a lot of your physical infrastructure. If you have physical networks separated, it normal morphologies of ports need you two network for redundancy. If you only have one big switch output and you use a VLAN, you trunk ports and you can put your cards in redundancy to each other. You have a good document that presents the main principles of virtual networks here:

Finally pour your VMs DC, the fact of having two and use rules qualifirons-affinity allows you to always have an available in even if one of the nodes in the cluster.

    Good luck!

    A +.

  • IPS 4240 high availability?

    Hello

    4240 running in HA mode?

Or should I look at 4255 if I need to work in HA mode?

Kindly help me with this info... Thanks in advance.

    Kind regards
    RAM

Just to add a little bit to Bob's response.  It is possible for the HA, but as mentioned above, it is not HA as you would expect of a firewall and requires significant network planning and is rather technical in nature.

The best documentation I could find about the designs HA is in chapter 21 - "Deploying Cisco IPS for high availability" and High Performance of Earworms security CCNP 642-627 official Cert Guide, ISBN: 9780132372107.  She gets quite detailed and explains a large number of different methods.

I was also able to find some information on this site, but it is at a higher level and does not provide as many options.

    https://www.NetworkWorld.com/community/node/18384

I had to work HA in some of our environments, and I'm here to tell you, plan ahead, far in advance, test several methods to find one that suits.  We were using a method that I just couldn't find it mentioned anywhere.

  • NAC Manager high availability peer CAM DEAD

    Hello

I have two managers of the NAC with high availability and I used both interface eth1 of sides as a link Heartbit.

I did following steps for high availability.

    (1) synchronize the time between two cams.

    (2) generate a temporary SSL certificate in CAMs and import-export procedure made in the other.

    (3) make a CAM as a primary and the other as secondary.

But after all this made configuration I can see the State in surveillance > reports-primary CAM is in place in both servers and redundant CAM is down.

Also on the failover tab, I can see - Local CAM - OK [Active] and counterpart CAM:-DEAD.

I have attached some screenshots so that you can find the same.

Your help will be very appreciated.

    Thank you

    Hello

Rupture can occur in any level

    1 oracle FailSafe with SAN?

--> Do check if you have failure in storage, your security will do nothing to bring back data

--> Seen failsafe, will be only the insurance when MS cluster moving the disc and services to different node, configured services starts.

    2. What is the security integrated on linux centos/oel solution?

--> Under linux, you need to set the scripts to run, and you can check the option on the cluster OS

    3. If the storage is on the San (for example) then it is possible to configure a shell script that detects if data source is down for 5 minutes, mount SAN stored the files of database on the remote computer and

change the ip in the application, so it will never connect to the source ip address

--> This you will get a cluster of BONES...

    Points to note:

    ================

--> If there is power failure sudden, we can expect there may be lost writing in your data block, which will bring the inconsistency to your data file and redo

--> Here, there is problem with your drive?

--> If there is problem with your complete domain controller (how will you mount FS to a remote server?)

Note what we are discussing was HA and you try to keep an idle server all the time (you have a server with more RAM & CPU)

Why you can't check an option of CARS, can also have the cluster extension...

And to avoid the loss of data and to meet the RPO and RTO in all time (same DC came down, storage failure, server crash), you may need to use Oracle data guard...

  • ODI 11 g high availability features

    Hello

Is there a link to all official documentation describing how ODI can be configured for high availability, and more specifically, which described how agents and repositories behave in case of failure.

I saw the notes on how to configure the load balancing between two or more agents.

However, I would like to know what happens if an agent fails:

    • Is there a process of follow-up that imprisons the failure and tries to restart the agent?
    • In this case, the ODI load balancer will be perfectly direct traffic only to available agents.
    • What happens if the agent fails in the middle of a stage of script performance?
    • Will of the database session, getting lost and rollback?
    • Stop the script or remaining available agents will manage the process of running success?

Similar requests are the repository itself - if the master repository database or the work fails what is happening? Assuming, the repository is installed on a multiple-node cluster environment, if only one node fails, everything will run scenario fail (and need to reboot) or that there is a transparent failover to the remaining nodes in the cluster housing deposits ODI?

I have a requirement where the ETL (ODI) system must be available 99.5% of the year and thus resilience is a key factor and I need to understand the capabilities.

I need to know if high in ODI availability simply means that a process is restarted, if a node or agent fails, or if an existing process will continue until the end due to a transparent failover.

    see you soon,

    John

  • vCO 5.5 high availability / load balancer configuration

I do a planning for a new deployment of vCO 5.5 and I would like to take advantage of the new features for high availability, but documentation seems to be a little lacking in Department of load balancer. I hope someone knows the answers to the following questions using zero in on possible configurations for load balancing options:

Calls to instances of vCO they state or can I use a setting of type stateless round robin for the configuration of lb or what do I need to support sessions?

Is there a health control end point which I can query the load balancer to automatically remove service instances in a configuration active / active failure? If there isn't a specific is a good audit can be done to create a service to act as a health check?

Did he already works with a configuration similar and willing to share their experiences?

  • Cluster high availability

How can I configure a cluster of high availability in Gemfire? I need a cluster with two nodes and two servers.

For high availability of data, configure the redundancy of your data regions; If you are using partitioned regions, see Configure a maximum availability partitioned region in the user's Guide the GemFire, for all the details and options available. You can also use the persistence.

For client/server e-mail high availability, see Configuring highly available servers.

For high availability of function execution see running a function in vFabric GemFire.

Yes, you will need two exchange server license, if you have less than 5 databases in exchange, you can opt for the standard edition of Exchange. However the operating system you will be required Enterprise edition, as it is necessary for the cluster configuration.

  • Implemented shared disk high availability with TimesTen11

    Hi all

I need to have shared disk high availability using cluster on AIX HACMP
Could you please share steps/info, this application with the TimesTen11.

    Published by: tt0008 on Sep 9, 2010 02:09

    Hello

We do not really recommend using disc shared according to HA with TimesTen since it is a bit complex to install and (b) is not officially a "supported" configuration Also, failover and recovery times are usually much longer than with a HA configuration based on TimesTen replication. I would like to invite you to consider using the TimesTen for HA replication. That's what it is designed for, and this is the recommended approach.

  • High availability without shared storage?

    Hi all

We have created two new 5.1 without any network vMotion ESXi servers and no shared storage. Client asked for high availability of virtual machines. There are few things that we can look at in this situation as FT and HA, but I know that they will not work without shared storage. VSA is also another option in this case, but it is not flexible and has more limitations than benefits.

Just check there at - there another solution we can us to provide high availability for virtual machines.

Thanks in advance for the help.

    Greetings

    Nick

Without storage shared (or ASB), it is difficult to provide high availability. Maybe vSphere replication is an option, if you can accept the loss of the latest changes, when it comes to the last line.

  • Remove the secondary controller and tertiary high availability for each access point

I want to remove secondary and tertiary sector controller of high availability for each access point. I have more than 900 APs associated with a Version of the WLC 8510 8.0.121.0 software. What is the best/better way to remove secondary and tertiary controller?
Or I can create a model first. We use version 2.2

    Hello

    Easiest way:

Yes you can do this by using the first Cisco Infrastructure, you can create a Setup AP Lightweight model to specify the name of the PDC and the IP address and specify an empty value (choose the first empty option in the drop-down list) and 0.0.0.0 for the secondary and tertiary sector controllers.  Then you can apply this model to the AP, and she must remove (virgins all) values for these fields.

    Long way:

Yes there is no clean way to remove it from the CLI. you need to manually remove each on the AP.
