Broken plugins: the remote name cannot be resolved
vCenter 4.0 Update 2
Windows 2003 R2 32 bit Standard
I changed the Windows Server that hosts the vCenter server host name, (not the domain), and he broke the following plugins:
Status of the Service of VMware
vCenter State of the material
The error is:
The following error occurred during the download of the plugin script of https://nnn:8443/cim-ui/scriptConfig.xml: The remote name could not be resolved: 'nnn.nnn.nnn'
I can ping and resolve properly the BONE
The 8443 port is open.
The correct vCenter managed Server IP and the name of the vCenter server have been updated Administration & gt; VCenter server settings & gt; Run settings
An entry for this new host name has been added in WIndows & gt; System32 & gt; Drivers & gt; etc, but I think that it does not seem necessary.
The vCenter server has been restarted after each change.
The error message shows that vCenter always uses the old host name in the \cim-ui\scriptConfig.xml file.
I found the file C:\Program Files\VMware\Infrastructure\tomcat\webapps\cim-ui\scriptConfig.xml , but this does not contain the host name values, as I expected.
Can someone point me in the direction of writing to fix this? Thanks,-Jeff
see if that helps

I am trying to accept an invitation from my mom's remote assistance and this is what I got after entering the password: connect Remote Assistance could not be established because the DNS name of the remote computer cannot be resolved.
You get the error "a Remote Assistance connection could not be established because the DNS name of the remote computer could not be resolved" when the requesting computer (the computer 'demand' help) sends its private IP address instead of its public IP address in the request for assistance. The solution is 'easy' for some and difficult for others. I present here for your perusal:
(1) obtain the public IP address of the requesting computer (by visiting a web page such as http://www.whatismyip.com)
(2) save the remote assistance request computers
(3) modify the remote request for Assistance (RcBuddy.MsRcIncident) using a text editor (such as notepad) and replace the private - section of IP address should be something like this:
RCTICKET = 65538,1,192.168.1.33:3389 «»
with the public IP address from whatismyip.com or elsewhere - should be something like this:
RCTICKET = 65538,1,74.125.47.147:3389 «»
(4) save the file of RcBuddy.MsRcIncident 'new '.
(5) double click it to connect to the computer needing help
(6) cross your fingers and hope it works!I hope this helps someone else - if it's too much trouble, feel free to use the tools mentioned elsewhere in this thread.

Console remote vCenter - the server name cannot be resolved
When I run the utility of Vcenter web-based console, a new web page opens and displays the console but I get the following error:
"The server name could not be resolved."
Here is a screenshot:
Here is the URL of the remote console tries to display:
I am a student from progressing to a VTC VCP5 Certification community college. We use the VMware Network Netlab Academy facility. I have no access to the client based on Windows Vcenter. I have only the client on the Vcenter web access.
Many many thanks Andre! The work of Console launch. After that I removed the entries in/etc/hosts localhost to the server vcenter-1, I brought successfully to the top of the console window. Of course, I also had to add an entry for the host esxi-1 in each file/etc/hosts.
The console works great. I was able to connect and send commands of Linux; However...
The only remaining question I have is that the console returns to Mode "full screen" by default and I can't seem to exit full screen mode. It encloses the vclient overall utility. Is it possible to tell the coming launch mode console non-plein default screen? Y at - it a remote console setting that controls "Full Screen Mode".

I opted for the "Restore default settings" option in the firewall while working on a client-side computer. For this reason got disabled the option "remote share' and now I can't access the machine remotely. The machine (which is not in the same network) does not monitor or keyboard attached to her and her to a different location so I can't physically connect you and activate this option.
I tried to disable the firewall remotely, but the following command does not work.
PsExec \\hostname u user_name password cmd.exe PeiIt returns the following:
Could not access ServerName
The network name cannot be found
Make sure you share the default admin$ is enable ServerName
This fact has not resolved the question above.

Original title: NET USE worked for error.
OK I used the following with a RDP'ing of XP in a server of S2k3 years:
NET use lpt2 \\SERVERNAME\printername /persiternt:yes
now, I get a "system error 67has has occurred. The network name cannot be found. »
What made me state was I restarted my XP machine.
What I've done since then rebooted the box of the network, hubs, Wireless DSL modem router and the win 2 k 3 boxes with the same results...
suggestions?
Hey cvs334, would you unplug the ethernet cable from all these devices ' network box, hubs, Wireless DSL modem router and the win 2 k 3 boxes "then unplug the power cord for each. Then after about 60 seconds, connect waiting for DSL modem for sink power cord. Then plug the router after sink connect the router to the modem, and then connect the hub and other devices. This allows the automatic redirection Web DNS router to the modem. The router may be failing or the router LAN port may be faulty.

VMware Server names cannot be resolved
I have two linux centos machines installed in my computer under windows 7. I can ping each other machines linux with IP, but not with the host name. Is there some way it can not change hosts/etc/hosts on both machines?
I put two machines in the c:\ProgramData\VMware\vmnetdhcp.conf in the form of:
host centost {}
Hardware ethernet 00: 0C: 29:b7:13:8f;
fixed-address 10.22.33.11;
Host-name of the "centost" option
}
host centosd {}
Hardware ethernet 00: 0C: 29:ee:c9:e1;
fixed-address 10.22.33.13;
Host-name of the "centosd" option
}
The two /etc/resolv.conf I have the same name server IP address.
Post edited by: andrej7 I forgot to mention that I have NAT network and use workstation version 9.0.2 thanks
It won't work /etc/resolv.conf on job creation. you will need to have or install the DNS software on the workstation or you will need to create a separate DNS Windows or Linux Bind server for name resolution.
Thank you

is my connection referenced under the remote name
When a remote computer or the connection is called is he talking about my system? or someone is trying to connect to my system? Thank you
Hi Sandi, and Jason
I guess it depends on what perspective you're talking about. The answer is that it can be both - depending on the circumstances. It's usually refers to another computer if it happens on your computer.
Here is a good article on remote connections (and all the other links in this article which provide additional information): http://mobileoffice.about.com/od/remoteaccesssolutions/g/remote-access.htm.
Here is an article on the (also with many links to go also) Remote Desktop connections: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Connect-to-another-computer-using-Remote-Desktop-Connection.
Here is some information about the remote access software and guides: http://www.pcmech.com/article/remote-connection-guide/.
I might be able to provide a clearer answer if explain you the situation in more detail. Why are asking you this question? Makes you think of a remote connection is involved with your computer (where are you seeing this and what does exactly)? What version of Windows you are using (for example, 32-bit Vista Business SP2 or 32-bit XP Professional SP3 or other)? You have a home network? Is your home wireless network and you are using a wireless router?
I hope this helps.
Good luck!

How to fill out the USER name in a [RESOLVED] text field
Hi all
Forms 10g (10.1.2.0.2), Windows XP
In my form, I have 2 blocks.
1 block with a single element, where we enter a value and press on enter (this place you block2 and run the query).
Block 2 (tabular) will get the records. This block2 have now 3 columns (caseid, userid, date).
Now when I insert a new record, I just need to get the caseid only. And username and date must be filled in automatically.
I am able to fill in the date by setting the property Initial Value * $$DATETIME$ $* for the column.
And I tried many ways to fill the username in the userid column without success.
I am tired of something like thatIn *When-New-Item-Instance* if :System.Cursor_Item is null then :BLOCK2.userid := Get_Application_Property(USERNAME); else null; end if; /*In this case, I can navigate to to the last recrord w/o any changes in the fetced records and while inserting the new record, USERNAME doesn't populate.*/
Any help please...In *When-New-Record-Instance* declare v_dummy varchar2(15) := null; begin v_dummy := nvl(:system.cursor_value, null); Copy(to_char(v_dummy), :System.Cursor_Item); if :System.Cursor_Item is null then Copy(null, :System.Cursor_Item); :BLOCK2.userid := Get_Application_Property(USERNAME); else null; end if; end; /* Nothing populates into the userid item while inserting new record */
Use one
:BLOCK2.userid:=GET_APPLICATION_PROPERTY(USERNAME);
or
:BLOCK2.userid:=USER;
in a WHEN-CREATE-RECORD-trigger.

I am trying to use remote assistance to help with my brothers computer. We both use XP, but when I try to open remote assistance to view and or even take control of his computer, I get an error message: connection A Remote Assistance could not be established because the DNS name of the remote computer cannot be resolved. Why this might be happening?
Hello
It depends on how the computers are connected and their intellectual property regime.
They are on the same network (e.g., connected to the same router)?
Through the Internet? Something else?

Hello
I received the following error message
"The remote computer has disconnected your session because of an error in the licensing protocol. Try to reconnect to the remote computer, or contact your server administrator. »
This happens when I try to log on my remote on the icon access log, I put on my computer at home so that I can get to work if I need to. He worked for a few months after I bought my new laptop and software, but now suddenly it doesn't. I talked to my guy TI in the work and they seem to think it's a common problem with "Vista Home Premium", I can do to change it so that I can use the remote access icon?
Thanks in advance
Hello
Licensing protocol handles the communication of information on licenses between your computer and the remote computer. If there is an error in the licensing protocol, your computer may not be connected to the remote computer.
To resolve this problem, restart the computer and try connecting to the remote computer. If you continue to receive this error message, contact the server administrator.
This also occurs if one of the registry entries is corrupt. Try the following steps to resolve this problem.
1. Click Start, type regedit and press to enter.
2. on the window of the registry editor, navigate to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\MSLicensing
3. right click MSLicensing, click on export and provide a file name for example RemoteKeyBackup and click on save to the desktop.
4. right click on the HardwareID key and store under MSLicensing folder and click on delete.
5 restart the computer for changes to take effect. Restarting the computer will create new keys.
NOTE: If the problem persists, then you can take backup of the MSLicensing registry key and to load it on the computer of the problem, this will fix the problem.
Visit this link for more information:
http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc756826 (WS.10) .aspx
Important: Incorrectly editing the registry can cause serious problems on the computer.
Back up the registry: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Back-up-the-registry
Try the steps and check the result.
Kind regards
Syed

Our company recently purchased Adobe Acrobat Pro XI intended to be used for shared electronic reviews. We use the send for shared review in Adobe Acrobat Pro XI, and all the comment tools work as expectedexcept the trombone in Annotations.
When a Word or Excel or Image (png, jpeg) file is attached using the trombone of Annotations, the initiator may initially see and open. But once feedback is enabled and the review file is closed, the file 'Name' becomes 'Unknown' (even if the Description is the correct file name and extension). Change information are unknown, such as size and compressed size.
When the control file is then reopened, even the initiator cannot open the file, although:
- The location of the file is marked with the paper clip in the document.
- The file name is displayed in the list of comments with the name of the initiator.
- In the list of attachments (the paper clip under the thumbnails and bookmarks), the name appears as unknown, shows the file name Description, update is unknown, the size is unknown and compressed size is unknown.
The file name cannot be published, although the Description file can be.
We have followed the procedure described in the tutorials but may not know how to resolve this situation. As this feature was the reason for the purchase of Adobe Acrobat Pro IX, we would any help. Please leave out the basics because we are new users.
We have several people with Adobe Acrobat Pro XI and the rest have Adobe Reader XI is a Windows platform. Can someone please give us some advice how to get this function runs as described?
The bug is fixed in the latest Adobe Acrobat Pro XI 11.0.09 update (update: in Acrobat Pro, go to help-> Check for Updates...).

Why the scheduled task cannot rename?
In Windows 7, after that I put a scheduled task, the task name cannot be renamed.
Does anyone know a trick to rename rather than create a new one?
Thanks in advance for your suggestions
Yes, it's fast & simple.
Export the task in any convenient folder. [Export is on the right side of the window TS]
It is saved as an xml file.
Switch to the folder in Windows Explorer and rename the xml file with any name you want to change the task.
Import the xml file. [Import is also on the right side of the window TS]
You will then see a task with any name you call the xml file.
