Broken warranty seal/sticker

I bought a HP ENVY Phoenix 810-192d (S/n: [redacted for privacy], P/n: E9t3344 #AB4) with a free RAM upgrade at a PC fair. The seller broke the seal/sticker for the free RAM upgrade.

The warranty/sticker seal is broken at the time of the purchase, please let know us if it affects my warranty and how to fix it if he does.

Read the warranty information available for your desktop computer as suggested here.

  • Pavilion x 360-13-a110dx: HP technical support will not fix a broken warranty screen

    Computer tech support rant:

So I treat my electronics with care. For some strange reason, recently developed a crack on the touch screen of my combo of tablet or a laptop HP Pavilion 360. The thing is usable, and the slot is under the top layer there so no finger injury if I touch the screen. But he fixed it needs, so I filled in the online form to explain my problem to a solution of warranty. I was then told I can call to track and match an option repair or by e-mail. Very well, very well. No problem. I'll call. I can do things with the phone on speaker.

An hour and 20 minutes later and three of call center foreign representatives who were not clear of the USA (meets one, one was a tech rep, and then he couldn't do the actual sending in and fix the situation so I went to a representative cost and repair to figure out how to fix it), and I'm mad on fire. First of all, all three repeat what I wrote and asked questions as if I'm lying to them, or did not know what I did wrong. We had the audacity to ask how do I close my laptop. Yes Ma'am, I slam it down as hard as I can and throw it against the wall to see what happens and make sure that it shuts down for the night. (I did say that, but may as well have.) I'm on my products.

She said that it would cost $270 to fix. Wait, $270? She said because it was a screen problem, it costs money. I said that it is under warranty. Equipment is under warranty, no software apparently. But this isn't the software, it's a HARD to the device component. I can't just install and uninstall a touchscreen. I'm paying $270 plus delivery charges when I bought in May last for $350. If I pay that much for setting a screen, I may as well buy a new unit that is faster and more up-to-date.

She said that it would increase it to a supervisor. They were not available after 18 pm, et. I said I work next week, leaving the House at 6:30 et and will not be home until after 18 pm, et. I said that I should call after 6 p.m., HE. I can't take the time during the day to discuss my PC because if this call took 1h20m, I don't have this time to a new job.

Then, suddenly, they can call me after 18 pm, et. When they do it on Monday, if he is a foreigner, I'll ask an English person precise and clear language. I'm not trying to be racist, then falsely accuse me if you want, but when it comes to communication, and there is a problematic thick accent because English is not their native language in India or wherever they are, this is a serious matter. If I do not understand the words coming out of their mouth without having to constantly ask for something repeatedly or super attentive because if I'm not I can miss a word that misinterprets the whole sentence, which is good enough for me. I've been at both ends of the customer service, so talk to someone English * IS * critical, especially when the situation is bad. I want an American on this one.

Either they fix it for free AND fix it on a quick as soon as POSSIBLE process (because frankly, I was insulted with how they treated me and the hold time every time to ask the same questions and made to be a perpetrator of my machine), or I am done with HP/Compaq products after 15 years of loyalty to them. Really, I don't expect even a call Monday from HP. I doubt that someone calls me.

And for what it's worth, what computer HP from my ex-wife was a breach of the hinge, which was material. I might took pliers and broke on purpose. But they don't set any question. But a screen which has not been clearly cracked by me (trust me, I could take a hammer to it and make a spider web crack) are not treated and is not material? What is it? TouchWare a new term? If it is not material, I want to know what it is. And I don't like what the said guarantee, if you send a defective product that lasts not even eight months (if), you need to fix. I did take a hammer to my screen, I do not slam my PC or throw it against something, and it's in a protective case when I travel, and it is placed in a safe place when not in use. In fact, I barely use the touchscreen. But still I'm done feeling it is my fault and I have to pay $270?

I would like to fix it myself with pieces on Amazon, but must completely disassemble the screen of the keyboard part part and it's a mess and not worth. I'm going to buy a new something and be done with it. But for a crack I did not cause - and if they were seen, they would know because the crack is below and not something that I can do on top - and say $270? Kiss my rear. Repair at our expense, or lose my business. And I shall not distribute for free, but when I'm insulted, and when I type my problem and give me the Spanish Inquisition, whenever I talk to someone, as if what I typed was a generic fraud, I'm deeply offended. I have another thing to do with 1h20m of my time on a Saturday than waste it with HP trying to solve their problem of product.

Fifteen years of my first Compaq Presario several models of HP Pavilion of desktop computers and laptops. Six in total, I bought Windows me to XP to Vista to Windows 8 (and the free update 10).  Guess that's done now because HP has dropped the ball, unless they are equipped through a miracle.

Well, long story short, the PC was fixed under warranty with a new screen and he was only gone for a week or two. Looks like new. They documented my case several times that fall overseas really left call center the ball bad. They did NOT follow the Protocol. Even if the American side did not guarantee that he would be a guarantee, they handled so much better than what it was initially.

Basically, if you don't like the answer, and you know what people overseas, manipulation, find a way to talk to an American. They're going to get this done, and if the answer is not a good one, well, you know that it is legitimate at least since he saw rather than phone diagnosed.

  • SCR-26 broken watertight sealing cover!

I know this isn't a very popular case, but I love the additional display features that the SCR-26 case overlooks Android 4.4 (I wouldn't touch slow 5.x, bloaty with a bargepole), so I stuck with it despite the way it attaches to the phone with the glue and the stupid pop back home.

However, he did some damage when I took my Z3 Compact out of her send off for headphone jack repair - when I removed the phone from the case, the glue was so strong, that he pulled the rear glass of his seal cover!

Everyone has hit this problem? And someone knows if Sony repair are likely to do stories about the faulty rear seal?

Phone came back repaired yesterday with no complaints. He had a new ribbon cable and a new case (!), so the phone looks like and acts like new

The process of repairing the fault can't really - it was fast and everything works perfectly. Would have been nice to see a "repair" status when I followed the phone, but I'm a very happy Bunny indeed.

  • Satellite Pro P300 - remove the HARD drive to make a backup?

My P300 went to my local store to repair for a network card problem. I thought it was just a software problem or driver, so I wasn't worried that my machine is still under warranty. After investigation, they stated that they could not resolve the issue, so would be to reformat and reinstall the OS, they thought they should solve the problem.

To my horror, I found that they had broken the seals of guarantee and open to the top of the machine. They claimed the only way to save the P300 before reformat it, is to remove the HARD drive!
    Is this true?
(It turns out that a broken chip is to blame, but because they violated the warranty, Toshiba will not touch!)

Can anyone say about this the removal of HD to support it please?

    Hey,.

Normally it of not necessary to restore the factory settings with to remove the HARD drive but don t you worry about this. The laptop can still be opened from a service provider authorized without losing the warranty.

I also put t know why they did, perhaps they have checked the material. It would be possible because they have professional diagnostic tools.

But interesting to know whether or not your problem is now resolved?

  • Z580 - WLAN adapter problem

I've got Lenovo IdeaPad Z580, with Core i7, 4 GB of RAM and 1 TB of HARD drive processor.

A few months ago, I noticed that my BONES sometimes would freeze (make this beep sound freakin ') if I moved my computer too fast in my office (weird). She got worse a few weeks ago and seems to be somehow connected to my wireless network adapter.

It especially simply - nothing works. Switch WLAN disappears from the BIOS configuration, etc., like it wasn't even there. If I'm lucky (as I am now), it would work somehow. All of a sudden appears again in the BIOS etc. I can even use it on my Windows 8, but... If I propose a little my laptop, it will suddenly freeze and restart causes WLAN adapter not in the system at all, or the connection is de-energized ("metered" stuff etc.). Restart adapter according to the results of system in "find no WLANs", wlan switch endangered or gel.

I tried to reinsert the WLAN card, it sorta fixed stuff when I did it for the first time, I had a week or two without a problem, but he returned and reintegrated support is no longer.

First question what I can do with this adapter WLAN problem?

Second question is - while doing all this thing reinserting, my screws are a little bare now (but not completely, it is possible to get them unscrewed without any problem) because I have not noticed my screwdriver is broken and ruining. My laptop is still covered by the warranty? I do not have removed or broken any warranty seals in the process well, just the screws.

I forgot to mention, by WLAN adapt is Atheros AR9485WB-EG.

Information on repair mentions setting parts disconnected.

  • Flex 2-14 RAM upgrade

    Hello everyone,

I had already sought in the internet and look in the manuals, but I can't find anything on how to upgrade the RAM in my Lenovo Flex 2-14 (59424855, 4 GB RAM, Core i5 4210U).

  • Presario C700: laptop computer monitor

There is backlight of my laptop came out, and when I checked the cable for the monitor, I noticed that the cable has a few threads that are broken (warranty laptop was gone until I checked the cables) and I was wondering how it would be to get the cable replaced so that the monitor can be used again. The cable P/N is DC02000FM00.

    Here's the part on eBay:

HP does not install this for you he will either have to be DIY or buy the part and bring it to a repair place local computer and work would probably $ 50-$100, or on what the laptop is useful. It's a thing of medium difficulty. Here is the manual if you want to see how to do it yourself:

  • Questions on Sansa Clip + units purchased in different stores: there are slight differences?

    Hello all-

My spouse and I bought a SanDisk Sansa Clip + 4 GB in different stores the same day.  We intend to keep only one and the packaging is slightly different, so after a brief purchase background, I have some questions as to the differences between the two in order to solicit advice as to who to keep and which you want.

    CONTEXT OF PURCHASE:

Two units have been sold at the same price, both have the same UPC and the return of the policies/guarantees for two stores seem to be identical.  The color of each is the same (black) and the exercise of copyright for packing at the rear is 2010 for both, that is: (c) 2010 SanDisk Corpation.  We have not broken the seal on each box and do not want to facilitate the return of one.

    What is different?

I bought my unit to H.H.Gregg here in the United States, and the number above the same UPC's:

    SDMX18R-004GK-C57

    And here's the UPC number:

    80-56-09564 - 004 G

My spouse bought at best buy and the number above the UPC:

    SDMX18R-004GK-A57B

    And here is the UPC:

    80 56-09570 - 004 G

In addition, those bought at H.H.Gregg indicates 'Software Rhapsody', and the Rhapsody logo under 'quick start guide' in the column of "Content" on the left side of the box while one bought at best buy Rhapsody No mention outside of the box.  And with the exception of a white banner with "Sansa Clip + 4 GB" on the face at the bottom of the box purchased at best buy, the type of packaging, graphics and colors look identical.  Both made in China.

    MY QUESTIONS:

1 - does anyone know of any slight difference between the two?

    2. that contains software Rhapsody and the other and if so is the inclusion of this software an additional benefit?  (Never used Rhapsody, but my understanding is that it is similar to iTunes?)  All opinions on this topic is welcome, although I've never used iTunes and maybe not a similar service.  The software takes more space and it is difficult to remove if I don't want to?)

    3. I suspect the above number ending by "-A57B" (i.e. with a ' B' versus without him) indicates Sansa units shipped to the and sold through Best Buy, where the 'B '.  Is this correct?

    4. However, the numbers which could describe the difference between two low, the middle parts which are "- 09570 -" and "- 09564-"? "»  Is the '- 09570 -"a model a little later?  (Again, the "-09570-" is that of HHGregg, without any indication of Rhapsody.)

    5. who would keep you, or is it just a case of flip a coin?

Sorry for nit-picky issues, but I recall reading some interest in the version material different numbers with the other units of Sansa and the benefits of one over the other and I was wondering if there might be a hardware update version at play here as well.

    Thanks for your time! :-)

    =================================================

    Changed to correct typo:

The first issue of the unit to buy at best buy should have a 'B' added at the end, as I was writing it under 'MY QUESTIONS'.  It is:

    SDMX18R-004GK-A57B

    =================================================

    Edit #2 to fix typo:

    "column" vs "colum".

Interesting, thank you for researching it! I tried before that my post came but dry.

Until then the objective eye differences?  I would be particularly interested in distinctions of subjective performance between the tuner chips, if any, that the radio will receive a daily use.  Also welcome all favor referring to other physical differences such as brightness/contrast screen.

Still, I guess there is no way to distinguish between the two by the package box numbers and that a practical diagnosis is necessary?

Thanks to all the other replies, in particular the ideas of Rhapsody.

(Incidentally, I'm curious to know if there are differences in sound quality - dynamic, range, volume, all - between the Clip + and Sansa alays such as the "rocket" or same-track playback on each indistinguishable?)

    Thank you!

    JVR

JVR, I don't think that there should be no difference in performance between them. Most likely the changes have occurred due to a different provider offering a better price on a part of SanDisk. My two readers Clip + the two appear identical in every way. And insofar as comparing them to the "rocket", I have two rockets as well, and they seem to everyone to play and hear the same way, at least using the Sansa firmware.

  • If the earphone wire is broken, it is under warranty?

    Hi all

I bought my unit 3 months back. After a few days, I found that my earphone wire is broken. I went to services too but they deny to replace.

My question is if the wire is broken, it is under warranty?

The warranty covers only a manufacturing defect not misuse or mishandling by the user

Sounds like "service"sees as damage of the user rather than a faulty product

    Hello

I have a Toshiba laptop, * the HDD is broken * and when I bought did not have recovery disk. Nobody told me that I had to make a copy on the disc when the phone still worked.

Now I have a new hard drive but does not have the recovery partition and LICENSE No. STICKER for WINDOWS 8!

    * What is the solution which gives Toshiba for these cases? * because I'm not ready to pay more than 30 for a CD that should come into the computer, and I will not pay a new license of Windows 8, because when I bought the computer and I paid!

    > Nobody told me that I had to make a copy on the disc when the phone still worked.
Please do not be angry on me, but this isn't an excuse for your problem. Each laptop model comes with manuals of the user document. It is also saved on your laptop computer in PDF format.
It is clearly describes what recovery image is and how you can save it and create recovery media.
I don't know where you bought your laptop, but if you bought in some electronic stores I think you should talk with your dealer and tell him that you are not satisfied with their expert advice.

You're right about the license. With your computer laptop, you bought OS and valid license but the product key from the sticker can be used for the activation of the operating system if you are using the Microsoft installation disc. This product key is up to the original recovery image that you got with your laptop.

On the one hand, I understand, but you must also understand that, generally speaking, it's your fault. In these cases, toshiba offers just the solution and you can get the original image of recovery for your laptop model. It costs 30 euros, but with this money, you'll get bones, all necessary drivers, tools and utilities that need not be configured. Maybe two hours after you have perfectly install OS with all the necessary drivers.

How much is Microsoft version if you do not want to order the Toshiba recovery image?

I have a HP Pavilion g7-1173dx. My operating system is Windows 7. A few months back, my laptop screen was broken accidentally, but not by me. I was in my school library is about to do my homework before I had to go to class, and my cell phone was on the table in front of me when the cover is opened. Someone walked by they were shooting their schoolbag, and as they did, they hit my laptop and the cover closed when it hit the ground. He picked for me and asked excuse me and went on his way. When I opened it, the screen was broken and he has a crack at the bottom. I called customer service on this topic several times. I don't want to pay to get it fixed because it wasn't really my fault. So, can I my laptop fixed with the limited one year warranty that comes with the laptop or not?

If you had not reinstalled Vista, we helped you recover the product key of Vista for running old, Vista activated using specific programs.

But, as you have wiped the hard and reinstall Vista, we will not help you recover the product key.

Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

Using recovery disks is normally not need to insert a product key.
