Broken 'What's new' page

The page "What's new" is displayed after update 35.0.1 36 is broken - no buttons can be clicked. A carefully timed interrupted page refresh gives me what I suppose is the expected result. Remove '? OldVersion = 35.0.1"URI also unbreaks page.

Hi Jens_Lyn_IV, it is probably caused by the extension of the TRC. What would normally happen is a panel of doorhanger appearing under the menu button, offering to do a tour through the new features of the version...

    Hello raymond, this can happen when firefox is not able to correctly save preferences in the profile folder. Please try this: click the menu button

    then click on help

    > troubleshooting information > profile folder - 'display the folder '. then a new window will open. in this search on a file named user.js window (it can be used to overwrite your custom settings). where it is present, delete or rename this file and then restart firefox.

  • When opening, firefox always checks if my extensions work in verision again and show me what's new page.

    As the title suggests, whenever I start Firefox, he thinks that the update is new. Check extensions and show what's new page.

    Have you tried to delete the file prefs.js and user.js file possible?

    It is also possible that there is a problem with the files that store the registry extensions.

    Delete the files (extensions.sqlite, extensions.ini, extensions.cache) extensions.* and compatibility.ini in the profile folder of Firefox to reset the extensions registry.

    New files will be created if necessary.

    See "extension corrupted files:

    If you see disabled extensions, is not compatible, in "tools > Modules > Extensions ' and then click the Tools button, on the left side of the search bar (or click on the"Find updates"button in older versions of Firefox) to check if there is an available update compatibility.

  • Firefox 10 - impossible to get rid of Mozilla what's new page after upgrade (new)

    Everytime I open Firefox 10 after upgrade, that I can not get rid of what's new page, that is, I can not open with a blank page. Hello

    Please see this.

  • I installed the 9.01 update. Whenever I open firefox search addons updates it and opens the what's NEW page.

    When I tried to open firefox it always opens the what's NEW page.

    Maybe that's a problem with the prefs.js file as explained here:

  • Stop showing what is new page

    We are limited to using firefox 3.6.25 for work in order to be compatible with other systems. Whenever I open firefox, I get a page of "what's new" who wants to download a new version, which we are not allowed to do. It's a real pain to have this show rather than a blank page or my home page. How can I get rid of this?

    Is that the software has a setting to protect the files in the Firefox profile folder and eventually to restore an older version?

  • "What's NEW" page opens every time you start FF

    Hi sigan,.

    You should look at this article on this specific issue and Preferences not savedarticle. It should give you all the information you need!

    If this does not work:

    1. Enter about: config in the address bar
    2. Click I'll be careful, I promise you if prompted
    3. In the filter field, type Startup
    4. Double click on startup.homepage_override_url
    5. Delete the text string, and then click OK
    6. Close Firefox and reopen the window to check that it worked.

    Hope this helps!

  • Link broken on the new page of the UPD 6

    Hi all

    The Web page for the new driver PCL 6 UPD has a faulty link for the download.

    http://h20000.www2.HP.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=0&...

    In Firefox, it shows a code "550 failed to change directory" when you click on the link. It will not work in IE9 either. The old link to the driver for scanning/printing plug-and-play on the page LaserJet 3050, dating all the way back to 2007, still works. Yet another example of lack of HP for the necessary thoroughness with respect to its clients and support for the software and drivers.

    I tried to access the link given & also tried download the UPD software using the internet Explorer 8 & it works find without any error.

  • Can you please tell me how a) stop the compatibility check and b) stop which is the new page that appears every time. Thank you

    Having recently updated Firefox to version 20.0.1 I get the compatibility check every time and also the what's new page. Can you tell me how to disable them, please.

    Hello rodale, what you see is probably a side effect of firefox is not able to save some preferences in the profile folder.

    go in firefox > help > troubleshooting information, click on file/show profile folder and close all firefox windows later. a windows Explorer window should open - to delete the file named user.js.

    in case this has not solved the problem yet see also How to set preferences that will not save.

  • Missing new Page

    Hello

    I've updated to Firefox version 16 (or something) the who's new page has since disappeared. First of all, I thought it's just a temporary problem or something (my modules are messing around with it, or whatever), but now my pc has forced me to re - install Firefox from scratch and I'm sure that I was not using Firefox 20 to 1oo % at the time. So, after you have installed the latest version (20) my favorites, modules, and preferences disappeared, always, the what's new page didn't appear.

    Any ideas that I can do to get it back?

    Us do not display the which is new page on each update, only release that have large enough features to justify it.

  • Can the "first run after update of Firefox" (aka. "What's New" and "Add-on compatibility check") be disabled?

    We intend to deploy an update to Firefox on our campus. The question I have is this: after the update, the "compatibility of the add-on Checker" appears, then the 'What's new' page appears during the first boot after the update. In this case: we use Deep Freeze to prevent kids to do any mischief based on software on the machines. But if we push the update at night, during maintenance windows, they will be frozen in the pre-first-time-run mode. So, whenever a student starts the PC after that, they will get the popup of compatibility both the "What's new" page

    Is there a way I can disable that during the upgrade, so that students will not have to click on these 2 points away? I would like for Firefox just silently disable incompatible modules and do not display the page "news". I found ways to do it, but they involve editing omni.jar and others. I'd rather have a formal, documented way to do this.

    Thank you!!

    Well, eventually nothing worked, except all the settings I wanted to put in part of mozilla.cfg. When I added your suggestion, and one I found on the web to disable add-on compatibility check, I finally have a Firefox that loads directly to the homepage, even after the upgrade.

    Here's what my mozilla.cfg file contains (to 6.0.2):

    // Disable any auto-updates.
    lockPref("app.update.enabled", false);
    lockPref("extensions.update.enabled", false);
    lockPref("browser.search.update", false);
    lockPref("browser.startup.homepage_override.mstone", "ignore");
    lockPref("extensions.checkCompatibility.6.0", false);

    Of course, I must make the byteshift-13 at it, but copy the Core\ file and the file firefox.js to Core\Defaults\Pref\ the round is played.

    Thanks for the help!

  • People app Windows RT and "what's new".

    Why is my Facebook feed showing is no longer in the people app when I click on "what's new?  This device was working fine when I started to use my Tablet first, but no longer works even if she appears to be syncing.  I tried to uninstall and reinstall the application, as well as the resolution of the problems of the apps with no luck.  I also tried adding the Facebook account again through parameters.  In the top right of the screen, it shows that I am connected to my Microsoft and Hotmail accounts.  My Microsoft and Facebook accounts are linked.  My Facebook contacts always appear when I click on the application of people, but nothing appears in "what's new".  Any suggestions?   Thank you.

    Hi Tommy,.

    Go to your what of new page and then press the word 'what's new' at the top of the screen.  There will be a drop down to choose which source for updates (you can use all or choose one specifically).

  • 'What's new in Pages' Splash Page

    I have the latest version of Pages on my home Mac Mini and the iMac at work. Latest Mac OS X, etc. Both work, but...

    At home, whenever I start pages, I get the "what's new in Pages' Start Page. It's boring. At work, the start page NEVER appears.

    I checked the preferences, etc. and may not know how to disable the start page, or how it is that it is out of the machine to work.

    Any thoughts?

    Hi Steve,.

    Just guessing, based on a faded memory, but it looks like you can start pages from a disk image containing the installer rather than the application installed in your Applications folder.

    Try dragging the Pages icon on your dock and a fall (it should disappear with a cloud of 'smoke').

    Now locate the Pages in your Applications folder. Double-click its icon to launch the application, then go to the dock, right-click right (or Ctrl-click) on the Pages icon and choose to keep the Dock. Click-and - drag the icon in the position where you want it on the dock and continue with what you wanted to do.

    If the start page is displayed during this launch, look for a checkbox "don't show me this page again" (or similar).

    Kind regards

    Barry
