BrowserField API 4.7

I tried to implement the api browserfield in OS 4.7 and I have exeprienced a lot of questions. To name a few:

1. search does not

2 the page rendering does not appear as RIM browser even if I already have the User-Agent.

You have an idea why it behaves like this? Or do I need to use an alternative API?

4.7 the field browser uses the older rendering engine.  He uses the rendering engine of 4.5 and not that of the latest BlackBerry browser.  In 5.0 browser Field2 uses the same rendering and JavaScript engine in the browser.

  • Why BrowserField demo does not use BrowserField?

    I had some problems getting the BrowserField object to display all images on a page. When you search the formus, it was suggested to use the BrowserFieldDemo included in JDE for example. I tried and it works, but the back button does not work and you can not click on one of the links. Then I discovered that it does not actually use a BrowserField object as in

    net.rim.device.api.browser.field2.BrowserField

    Does anyone know how to make the browserField to work... WITH a functional back button and no image broken?

    I'd appreciate all point in the right direction.

    In fact, I realized that BrowserField demo uses OS 4.0 components while the BrowserField object is only OS 5.

  • BrowserField BlackBerry: How to get the value of the existing cookie

    Hello

    First of all, I want to let you know that I have to create a Web page at www.mydomain.com/whois.html

    then I put a cookie with javascript named 'user name = adrian' on this page

    In my Aplication BB I declare browserfield to load "whois.html".

    Here is the code

    Import net.rim.device.api.browser.field2.BrowserFieldCookieManager;
    Import net.rim.device.api.browser.field2.BrowserFieldConfig;
    Import net.rim.device.api.browser.field2.BrowserField;

    Import net.rim.device.api.ui.container.MainScreen;

    {
    public BrowserDemoScreen()
    {
    setTitle ("BrowserFieldScreen");

    BrowserFieldConfig config = new BrowserFieldConfig();
    config.setProperty (BrowserFieldConfig.USER_AGENT, ' MyApplication 1.0 "');
    BrowserField _bf2 = new BrowserField (config);

    _bf2.requestContent ("http://www.mydomain.com/whois.html");
    Cookie String = _bf2.getCookieManager ().getCookie("__http://www.mydomain.com__").valueOf ("username");

    Dialog.Alert ("Cookie1 value =" + cookie);
    Add (_bf2);
    }
    }

    and if I run the code it does not get the "username" value, what's wrong with my code? Thank you

    Aaah... I have the cookie Manager to mydomain.com/whois.html instead of mydomain.com it prints all the information in "Add (new RichTextField (existingCookie));"

    Hello

    A week back, I met the same problem when you use v 1.8 because some changes by Twitter, so after changing total API to v1.9 they it works.

    I think that you get an IOException is right?

    Kind regards

  • BrowserField - open links in the current browser?

    Hey guys, wondering if one can help me out or give a little guidance on this issue.

    I have a local html string that I displays on a screen inside a BrowserField object, and I want to do is have any link in the field you click to open the link inside a real browsing session. I looked through the API for a method to substitute that manages links, but saw no one, even if I just missed it. Any suggestions?

    Thank you

    I know this thread has been inactive for a while, but I found the solution so I thought id post her if someone else hasn't the same question.

    BrowserFieldConfig bfc = new BrowserFieldConfig();

  • browserField.executeScript

    Hello

    I'm stuck with a question on the addition of a browserFieldListener. I have a native application BlackBerry accessing a web application using the browser. I have a JavaScript block in a specific page. I want to use browserField.executeScript ("my javascript in a JSP page") and check the returned Boolean value when I ask for each page. So I replace the documentLoaded method and add the inside executeScript method. However, she always throws IllegalStateException when browserField.executeScript. After I go through the RIM API, I found it refers to the exception as " IllegalStateException -this exception is thrown if this method invoked before this BrowserField document has been created." This event is communicated via the BrowserFieldListener.documentCreated () method. "Someone has suggestions or comments here, please? Thank you very much.

    I finally understand this problem. He won't do the method of excuteScript in documentLoaded() of BrowserFieldListener since the scripts contained in the document cannot be invoked until the document is loaded. I think it makes sense. So if you want to do stuff like read the DOM to call javascript from your document, make sure that the action happens after all the document is loaded. The original intent of my code is kind of like: use the browser to open a web page, check some flag from this page, generate a menu browser dynamically customized for this indicator. So now, I put all this reading document action in makeMenu and this method would make sure all the action happening after the page loads.

  • List of the browserfield in verticalfieldmanager

    Hi all

    I have a html content and I want to show in my application as well as other UI components. I use code below for it but it doesn't work.

    BrowserField myBrowserField;
    myBrowserField = new BrowserField();
    scrollContainer.add (myBrowserField);
    Content = string'"+ storyParser.storyData.get ("description") +".";
    myBrowserField.displayContent (content, "http://localhost");

    Add (scrollContainer);

    This is a limitation of browsing mode.

    You can try and replace the navigation mode and manipulate yourself (check the BrowserFieldConfig API).

    From personal experience, do not add additional on-screen user interface objects when you use browserField. BrowserField which does not cover the entire screen behaves as expected...

    Never mind. I found the solution to this problem after doing some more research on this forum.

    and I need a BES for this, so I installed BES and after a lot of turning around, I managed to do the work. From now on, I can open the url of the pdf and all the other URLS in the native browser of my Blackberry Simulator. I can open google.com and other pages in my application using the above given alternatives, but cannot open a PDF url. And the pdf file opened fine in the browser BlackBerry local. I'm getting a little desperately need help now. All that I can appreciate.

    Much obliged.

    The field of browser does not support the rendering of PDF files.  There is no API in the set of BlackBerry APIs that allow you to programmatically display one PDF other then opening the BlackBerry browser the URL of your PDF file, which must point to a web server.

  • Cannot load a Html5 page in the BrowserField

    Hi, expert,

    We are trying to port a html5 for iOS web page to the touchscreen Blackberry phone. On the 6.0 torch device, we are able to load the page on the browser html5. However we are not able to load to embeded BrowserField on our java application. There's just a bunch of web page appears. Our html5 web page also uses the webdatabase api as well.   However, I tried a simple html5 demo page: http://html5demos.com/classlist and I am able to load. So, it could be due to some special items to our html5 page. However, I'm just checking if anyone has experiences about html5 on BrowserField to understand page loading limit on BrowserField it before you spend a lot of time on this and discover that it is a road of the dead.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi, maghue, we give up using the BrowserField 2 to load our page html5 because of the problems that we see so far. In addition, we set up our own web cache so there is an example of code on the web. We will use the native browser. Thanks a lot for your help along the way.

  • Local images using the Protocol of cod in BrowserField

    Hello world

    I try to get the BrowserField displaying local images stored in my res folder.

    for example, I display a div with a background image. in the style attribute, I specify the backround image url attribute:

    Cod://ModuleName/image.PNG

    Here ModuleName is simply the name of my Eclipse project.

    When I run my app in the Simulator, everything is ok and the images appear fine, but when I'm debugging my application on a device (eclipse-online-online bb device debug), none of my images are displayed.

    I thought it was because of the moduleName which wasn't good, but I couldn't find a way to retrieve the name of the exact module of my application to my application (like a getModuleName() method). When I use the AppDescriptor.currentAppDescriptor.getModuleName () (or something like that) I got an error.

    Thank you for your help

    Hello

    Instead of using "cod://moduleName/image.png", change as shown below in the instructions.

    If OS 4.7 and low version-

    "data:". So if you kept the resources folder of images a structure "localresource/src/images /", then the path should be built as "data:///localresource/images/image1.png".

    If OS 5.0 and higher, using the BrowserField2 API-

    "local:". So if you kept the resources folder of images a structure "localresource/src/images /", then the path should be built as "local:///localresource/images/image1.png".

    I would like to know if it works.

  • BrowserField Plugins

    Hello

    I don't know how I start my question. It goes this way

    Desktop such as Chrome and Mozilla browsers have plugins to help accomplish more.

    Is any concept similar to this for Blackberry.

    In my application, I use BrowserField. To reduce my work I thought there some plugins available app World I have users install (as a prerequisite) to enhance the browserfield functionality.

    Thank you and best regards.

    You can change to a certain extent by using javascript, but cannot change the native browser. All you need to do with browser field

  • Problems with HTTP and BrowserField response Code

    Hello everyone!

    I have a problem.

    I need to know the CODE of RESP HTTP after each query browserField. I studied the API and have not found a way directly (or even indirectly) to get the code from a RESP.

    Even if the page I'm asking returns me a 401, it calls the method documentLoaded of the listener instead of documentError for an example. Also, I implemented a BrowserFieldErrorHandler to see if any of it's method is called when an error occurs, but no! He'll never call them and he will call directly on documentLoaded... And, this method receives an instance document (dom) and the browserField.

    Then... the question... HOW the HTTP RESP. TO GET the code on a request of browserField

    All ideas

    Thanks a bunch already!

    Cheers... FCavalcant

    Well, I got it...

    I read http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Java-Development/How-to-enable-HTTP-Authentication-in-your-Br...

    and it provide me with an indirect way of crazy for the code of httpResponse = /.

    Thank you all!

  • Problem with Spotlight fields with the higher priority than browserfield

    It comes to JRE6.

    Some Web sites make a redirect of content or another ajax request when the document is loaded.  When the screen contains a browserfield and a focusable field with a higher priority, an illegal state Exception is thrown by the browser because it is not to the point when the content refreshes the field.  (As in defining BrowserField.setFocus () before calling BrowserField.refresh ()).

    Example: http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Java-Development/BrowserField-Sample-Code-Create-your-first-B...

    Using the code of the BrowserField2 example, simply by adding a ButtonField in the survey except title when navigating to twitter.com.  Other sites work fine, but when the content/javascript is in a certain way on Twitter, she seems to have some problems.

    package mypackage;

    import net.rim.device.api.ui.component.ButtonField;
    import net.rim.device.api.ui.container.*;
    import net.rim.device.api.browser.field2.*;
    import net.rim.device.api.ui.*;

    class MyBrowserField2Sample extends UiApplication
    {
        private MainScreen _screen;
        private BrowserField _bf2;
        private ButtonField btnField;

        MyBrowserField2Sample()
        {

            btnField = new ButtonField();
            btnField.setLabel("A BUTTON");

            _bf2 = new BrowserField();

            _screen = new MainScreen();
            _screen.setTitle(btnField);
            _screen.add(_bf2);
            pushScreen(_screen);

            _bf2.requestContent("http://www.twitter.com");
        }

        public static void main(String[] args)
        {
            MyBrowserField2Sample app = new MyBrowserField2Sample();
            app.enterEventDispatcher();
        }
    }

    The code above throws an illegal state exception at startup.  If you delete the setTitle (or any field focusable) that has a higher priority than the browserfield, so it works well.

    How can I force the focus on the browserfield when she needs?

    I Googled, found issues similar and all say "force focus on the browserfield", but even if you force the focus, the same illegal state occurs due to the updating of the content.

    Thanks in advance,

    Nate

    After reviewing the matter further, the problem may be to the field focusable, but it doesn't have to be on top.  Basically, any field focusable on the same screen as the browserfield throws the exception.

    While going to twitter.com in blackberry browser works very well (sends you to the mobile site), this behavior causes problems with the browserfield.

    The workaround, is just to force the link to open the mobile site directly.
