BSOD "driver irql not less or equal" and the "thread of unhandled exception" messages

Hi all

Since I got my laptop motherboard replaced I started having BSOD issues with "driver irql not less or equal ' and"unhandled exception thread"messages. They appear very often (about once a week), but it's annoying anyway :) I failed to note any regular pattern in BSOD problem.

I've read the description of similar problems, so I guess that the problem is a faulty driver. Unfortunately my PC skills are not sufficiently advanced to solve the problem on my own.

original title: VISTA HOME PREMIUM 32. CRASH

DRIVER IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL

Run the Driver Verifier to verify all 3rd party drivers

Using Driver Verifier is a dubious proposition. Most of the time it will crash and it will tell you what is the driver. But sometimes it will crash and will not tell you the driver. Sometimes it will crash until you can connect to Windows. If you can't mode without failure, then you will have to resort to editing the registry offline to disable driver verifier.

So I'd say you first back up your stuff and make sure you have access to another computer, you can contact us in case of problems. Then do a system restore point (so you can restore the system using the functionality of Vista/Win7 Startup Repair).

    So, here is the procedure:
-Go to start and type "auditor" (without the quotes) and press enter
-Select 'Create a custom settings (for code developers)' and click 'Next '.
-Select "Select individual settings from the list complete" and click "Next".
-Select all of the items EXCEPT FOR 'Low Resource Simulation' and click 'Next '.
NOTE:   You can use low resource Simulation if you want.  From my limited experiences, he made the BSOD come faster.
-Select "Select driver names from a list", then click "next".
Select all drivers NOT supplied by Microsoft, and then click "Next".
-On the next page, select "Finish".

Restart the system and wait that it will crash to the blue screen. Continue to use your system normally and if you know what are the causes of the crash, do it several times. The objective here is to get the system crash because Driver Verifier is stressing out the drivers.  If it does not crash for you, thenlet it run for at least 36 hours of continuous operation (an estimate on my part).

Restart Windows (after the accident) and turn off of driver verifier back in and selecting 'Delete existing settings' on the first page, and then locate and zip the memory dump file and send it with your next post.

If you are unable to Windows because it crashes too early, try safe mode.
If you can't mode without fail, try to use the system from the installation DVD restore to bring the system back to the previous point of restoration that you created.

If this does not work, after back and we'll have to see on the setting of the offline registry entry:
    [code]

Delete these registry keys (works on XP, Vista, Win7):
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management\VerifyDrivers
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management\VerifyDriverLevel

    [/ code]

Zip dumps memory and download them on a free file host.  I recommend Windows Live SkyDrive -http://skydrive.live.com or one another free service, file hosting.  Then post the link to it to your subject so that we can download it.

  • Driver IRQL not less or equal - EtronXHCI.sys

    Hello Support, Microsoft

Since yesterday I have a problem eith my PC.

I already had this problem about a month ago. I reinstalled Windows 7 due to a problem with registration. Know it works but I bought new headphones the same day (PX-22 from: Turtle Beach). I don't know how it started then, but right now, I unplugged my helmet yesterday my PC crashed. The blue screen says "Driver IRQL not less or equal ' the same problem, I had the last time. A little further down it says something on EtronXHCI.sys. Still the same problem, I had the last time. First, it was no problem because my PC bootet normally and I have sound in my speakers. Later, the same day I plugged my headphones

back in. Then my PC has crashed and rebootet with the same bluescreen. At first, I thought that would just start again as it did before. But it comes only from the desktop for a second, then it crashes and it starts again.

I would like to fix this somehow because my speakers are not very good and I want to use my headset.

    Thank you

    Vladis Becker

PS: My PC is booting in safe mode without any problem.

    Thanks, Vladis!

All attached files of the DMP are the bug check DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (d1) .

This indicates that a kernel-mode driver attempted to access pageable memory with a high IRQL.

A driver tried to access a pageable (or that is completely invalid) address while the IRQL was too high. This bug check is usually caused by drivers who used a wrong address.

  • Blue screen in Windows 8. Driver IRQL not less or equal

    Separated from this thread.

I get this when I try to connect to my Wi - Fi. I connect via WPS because does not have the security key password, and that of my ISP gave me is wrong. WPS is my only way to connect to wireless internet. When I hit the WPS button on my router and the laptop trying to connect is when I get the following message appears on the blue screen: driver - IRQL not less or equal - rtwlane.sys. In trying to detect Internet connection problems, it says reset Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller. Is it a hardware problem or software?

It seems to be a driver problem. I'll give a few broad tips here, without the dump files. Before performing the procedure below, please find the latest driver for your device from the manufacturer's website, or go to the website of the manufacturer of your PC and find the right driver from their support site. When you find the driver, download and save to your desktop, you will install it later in the procedure.

1 shift-click on any button to restart to boot into the Windows recovery environment

    2. When you arrive at a blue screen with three options, go to Troubleshooting > Advanced Options > startup parameters

    3. press the button restart when you get to the final screen, and when the PC restarts, click on Safe Mode

4 when your PC starts in safe mode, open the Device Manager by using the Windows key + X keyboard combo and then select Device Manager from the menu

    5. find your network adapter in the list of devices. Right click and select Uninstall. If there is a check box for uninstalling the driver as well, check, and then uninstall the device.

6 restart your PC, and when you're as a normal installation, the driver for the device you uninstalled.

    Hello

Thanks for posting in the HP Support forum. Welcome!

It's BSOD - Windows self-protection function sort. If you received a blue error screen, or a stop code, the computer stopped abruptly to protect against data loss. A hardware device, its driver or software might have caused this error. What you describe could be incompatible with the Windows driver (more often) or because of material issue (rarely).

In your case, this seems to be the problem - your network drivers are outdated and must be updated to fix the problem.

    Option 1:

Visit the HP website for your model > http://support.hp.com/gb-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Pavilion-11-x360-PC-series/8499314/model/8942286 , select your operating system version, download, choose the network drivers, download and update

    Option 2 (recommended):

If you don't have it already, please download and install HP Support Assistant from this url: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03467905

Use to check and apply all updates of drivers

    Additional tips:

-If you have installed McAfee software, then uninstall it and possibly run this tool to uninstall McAfee > http://us.mcafee.com/apps/supporttools/mcpr/mcpr.asp

    -Use the built-in Windows Defender > http://www.howtogeek.com/220232/how-to-use-the-built-in-windows-defender-antivirus-on-windows-10/

Will you please pass your comments and let me know what happens.
