BSOD System_Service_Exception using Firefox initiation a week ago. Fine with IE.
With the help of HP Series 2000 laptop just bought in November 2012. Processor AMD Windows 8. I put online using Firefox for about 15 minutes and I get the BSOD System_Service_Exception and reboots the machine. I use IE, and it works very well. Use Firefox on this laptop since the beginning, has begun to malfunction in the last week or two. Looks like one of the update of Firefox is not agree with Windows 8. I can't provide troubleshooting information because Firefox will not open long enough.
If you are under warranty, please call HP, but given that this issue is not related to Firefox, we suggest that you do a Google of your error message. Thank you.

whenever I have send an email on my hotmail my computer crashes when I use firefox! the Explorer is fine. Why so much?
This began to happen 1 week ago.
I tried to uninstall firefox a few times and it still does not work!
does anyone have a solution?Hello
Try Firefox Safe mode to see if the problem goes away. Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most of the modules.
(If you use it, switch to the default theme).
- You can open Firefox 4.0 + in Safe Mode holding the key SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
- Or open the Help menu and click on the restart with the disabled... modules menu item while Firefox is running.
Once you get the pop-up, simply select "" boot mode safe. "
If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to understand that one. To do this, please follow article Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems .
To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.
Also, try to bypass the cache
Reload the Web page while bypassing the cache using one of the following steps:
- Hold down the SHIFT key and click the reload with a left click button.
OR
- Press Ctrl + F5 or Ctrl + SHIFT + R (Windows and Linux)
- Press command + SHIFT + R (Mac)
If it does not help disable HWA used in firefox.
You will have to perhaps restart Firefox for it to take effect, so save any work first (e.g. you compose mail, documents online that you are editing, etc.).
Then perform the following steps:
- Click on the orange top left Firefox button, then select the 'Options' button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to tools > Options.
- In the Firefox options window, click the Advanced tab, and then select 'General '.
- You will find in the list of parameters, the checkbox use hardware acceleration when available . Clear this check box.
- Now restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.
In addition, please check the updates for your graphics driver by following the steps in the following knowledge base articles:

Using Firefox 7.0.1; having problems with hotmail. Cannot click on controls at the top of MSG, which is New, reply, delete, etc.. Can click on the same commands @ the bottom of the problem w/no MSG. Also cannot click on Inbox folder once I have access to another folder. All known solutions?
This problem may be caused by the Yahoo! toolbar as scopes as well down and covers the top of the browser window, allowing links in this part of the screen not clickable.
Start Firefox in Firefox to solve the issues in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > appearance/themes).
- Makes no changes on the start safe mode window.

The new window is "http://block.policehunt.org/?id=d04201572567089f9b464bbb1b065531". It is said in very rough English that they recorded me have access to child pornography and in order to unlock my browser, I have to pay $300 through some point of payment. When I try to close the window, a pop-up asks you, "do you want to leave this page? IF you click Yes, it flashes and repeats the same pop-up over and over.
The English used in the message indicates it is clearly a fraud... it seems that maybe a virus, even if I have an internet virus scanner.
Any suggestions how to "selectively" delete this 'blocking' window without having to reset firefox entirely?
Go ahead and force close Firefox by using the Task Manager.
CTRL + Shift + Esc > process tab > select firefox.exe > 'End process' button
Then open the currently active settings Firefox folder by using the search box of the start menu to open this short address:
%APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles
If you see more than one folder, click on in the most recent. If there is only a single folder, click on in this.
Search for files beginning with sessionstore. Generally, you will find sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak. If Windows hides file extensions, you can view according to the method described in this article to support: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/865219.
Rename sessionstore.js to something like sessionstore_bad.js file, so that Firefox does not restore this last series of windows and tabs automatically.
Leave this window open, and then restart Firefox.
If you want to reopen some of the pages of the last session, you can use the tips in the following threads for 'mine' the sessionstore_bad.js file to extract the URL:

You have this problem when running in Firefox SafeMode?
http://support.Mozilla.com/en-us/KB/safe+mode
Do not choose anything at the moment, just use 'continue in safe mode.If this is not the case, see this:

Only occurs with the e-mail program
Try upgrading to Firefox 33.0.1 - there have been updates to performance, and some users claimed to have a better browsing experience.
Or go to:
- Help (or

) > about Firefox
Or download a new copy to:
- (for a different location) https://www.Mozilla.org/en-us/Firefox/all/
If this does not help, I wonder if it's just a slow script on the page. If that were the case there is no much you can do. You can try to download a NoScripttype extension, allow scripts globally, and then turn off one by one to make sure that you maintain the functionality of the page. But it is a funny way to do that is a single project (I guess you only encounter this problem only on this site does not).

I have Windows 7 family on a laptop. I just downloaded the latest version of Firefox (v25) and Google as default search engine. Any site I enter in Google, I get the message 'Not reliable' site. I typed in BBC, Firefox etc. The message is:
This connection is Untrusted
You asked Firefox to connect safely on www.google.com, but we cannot confirm that your connection is secure.
My virus checker is Norton.
I read that the support forum and my date and time are correct. I have IE and Chrome with Google like search engine by default and is not the message when you access the BBC, Firefox etc.
This is the first time that Firefox has been downloaded to the laptop.
Please someone has an idea what is causing the problem.
I had installed BrowserSafe. As soon as I uninstalled Firefox worked properly.
Thank you very much for the advice.

Can I use Firefox 4 on my i7 iMac with OS x 10.6.7 11.3?
Hello
Usually the information I get when it's time for an update of Firefox, but it is not happened lately. I heard that you could stop supporting the Mac. Is this true? The update of the software usually don't jump to the next higher version automatically number for several months after the release, but you can "manually" update from www.mozilla.com
According to the system requirements page, Firefox 4 works on Mac OS X 10.5 and 10.6. http://www.Mozilla.com/en-us/Firefox/4.0/system-requirements/
(As you can see, Mozilla has dropped support for version 10.4 ('tiger'), but I'm not aware of any problems with 10.5 +.) "It is true that, as Windows users, I am not news on this closely.)

I have used Firefox for years. I bought a new Dell laptop 3 weeks ago, came with Internet Explorer. Later, I downloaded FF 6.0.1 that I prefer. After a few days of normal use, the Yahoo mail page newspaper came in lower-case letters and images unreadable. I went to the Firefox Options, once again the Options, then content. All fonts have been at least 14. I unchecked the option to leave the web sites chose their own fonts but always get tiny sign in page. When I copy and past the Yahoo mail URL in Internet explorer, the Yahoo login page is normal in size. I uninstalled FF 6.0.1 and downloaded FF 7.0.1 but who gave the same microscopic text. Thanks for any help. Paul

I use the Internet in McAfee security system. When you use Firefox, a pop-up dialog box appears indicating that a program on my PC is trying to accept incoming connections from the Internet. It indicates that the program is located in C:\program files\mozilla firefox\firefox.exe to Firefox. Recommendation of the dialog is "unknown program." My choices are "always allow", "allow once", or "blocked". I can continue to do what I was doing on Firefox without clicking on one of the 3 choices, but the dialog box does not go far.
I'm afraid to choose "always allow" as this never happened in the two years I'm using Firefox until I started having problems with my computer (virsuses) about a week ago. Please notify.
If you think your computer has a virus on it, you shouldn't ignore the fact and switch to another browser.
You must get the virus removed. The virus may record personal information.
I would say that the guest you have received is a prompt genunine for Firefox. The location you said "c:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\Firefox.exe" is genunine for Firefox.
You probably receive this prompt because Firefox has been updated about a week ago. Version 6.0.2 is out and your security this McAfee product identifies as a different program. Yes, it's always Firefox, but a newer version of Firefox and your McAfee program confirms just so you know it's been updated and is different from the way it was before.
You are right to be wary of security prompts.
The best way to check the application is the following.
Open my computer and locate the file c:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\Firefox.exe
Right-click on the Firefox.exe file, then select "Properties".
You will see a tab named 'Digital Signatures '.
Select this tab and ensure its says "Mozilla Corporation" and it has a timestamp of 3 September 2011.
Assuming that - that's life and you can allow it without risk.
It will be useful.

constant anti virus reports when using firefox
I constantly receive anti alerts of virus using firefox I was not do this with the Explorer, it seems to be related to the "search request". I get this message "windows cannot find"C:\Users\FAMILY-1\App Data\Local\Temp\NEW26A4.tmp.exe". Make sure you typed the name correctly and then try again." After that, I have to go to Bigpond antivirus program that I have on my computer, and the message is "access analysis engine reported a < no name > infection in the file ' C:\USERS\FAMILYPUTER\APPDATA\LOCAL\TEMP\NEW26A4." TMP. EXE' when I logged next to the home of the work I had 350 alerts to get rid of. In addition, someone hacked my hotmail address and sent emails to people on how to make money from home, I had to change my password by e-mail. Any help to stop the alerts would be greatly appreciated.
Make a check of malware with some scan of malware programs. You need to scan with all programs, because each program detects a different malicious program. Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of the database prior to scanning.
