• Windows Server 2008 R2 after trying to make a backup of Buffalo Linkstation no start

  A colleague logged the buffalo linkstation to our server and tried to save her. Something has gone wrong (the backup was not completed) and the server restarted. Now it starts (the scroll bar ends and after it I see the mouse cursor in the black screen) and after a few reboots seconds. I can't disable the auto restart after system failure in the bios (there is no such function). And this isn't a hardware problem (I connected the HDD on another machine and the result was the same).

  I tried fixboot, fixmbr, rebuildbcd comands in command prompt and they have all successfully completed, but the error still exists. Maybe someone has had this or a similar problem and knows the solution?   Thanks in advance!

• Change USB problem a disk attached to Buffalo Linkstation Pro.

  I have a Buffalo Linkstation Pro 1 TB peripheral NAS.  I have attached a USB external drive attached to the Linkstation.  The drive is detected and is shown in the web GUI as well as when I navigate the Linkstation to drive in windows Explorer.  I myself added as a user with the same windows login credentials as well as my login was added to the admin group on the linkstation with reading and writing.

  Here's my problem, I want to move files/folders from the USB drive to the Linkstation (these are not audio/video/photo fields that are not automatically copied with direct copy).  When I try and move a file, I get an error saying "You need authorization of Unix Unix\root to make changes to this file", even if my login credentials have been accepted when I accessed the folder on the linkstation, initially.

  I tried to change the security properties of the folder USB drive such as groups and users available on the system of "special permission" checked.  If I change "Everyone" and check the allow full control, I get another error saying access is denied.

  Finally, I installed the security tool file supplied with the installation CD of Linkstation Pro.  "don't know what this is done, I can either change the security level" or "retrieve the default security level.  At present, the security level of file sharing is "changed".

  I hope someone can help, been faced with this during some time.

  a. click on the drive, click Properties and then click the Security tab.
  b. click Advanced and then click the owner tab.
  c. click on edit and then do one of the following:
  (d) to change the owner to a user or group that is not listed, click other users and groups and enter the object name to select (examples), type the name of the user or group and then click OK.
  e. to change the owner to a user or a group is listed in the change of ownership of the area, click the new owner.
  f. If you want to take ownership of the contents of the disc, select the Replace owner of subcontainers and objects of the box.
  g. click OK and then click Yes when you receive the following message appears: you are not allowed to read the contents of directory folder name. Do you want to replace the the directory permissions with permissions granting you full control?
  h. all permissions will be replaced if you click Yes.
  i. click OK.

• Buffalo Linkstation does not connect to SLM2024

  I recently installed a Gigabit SLM2024 switch. We have a mix of devices on the switch, servers, computers, printers, wireless access points, and all work ok. We have also four Linkstations Buffalo with Gigabit Ethernet. Each linkstation has a DHCP reservation, but when it is connected to the SLM2024 ip address is not issued and the linkstation is not accessible because the default ip address is used by the devices. When the linkstations are connected to a Netgear switch they work as expected. The SLM2024 was purchased to replace the Netgear because it has only 2 gigabit ports.

  I did not any changes to the configuration of SLM2024. Any ideas?

  All four Buffalo Linkstations show the same symptoms when it is connected to my SLM2024 or a device has a problem with connectivity.

  The second screenshot that you pasted shows ZERO ethernet frames are seen from the Buffalo Linkstation.  This is not good.

  If all the four Buffalo Linkstations do not work when it is connected to the SLM2024, I think there is probably a problem with the way that we auto-negotiation ethernet connection between the switch and the NAS server.

  Most likely you checked Buffalo to a software update for the linkstation, I noticed that Buffalo has new software on a little more than a month for the linkstation.  If you do not have the new software on the Buffalo Linkstation, is now the perfect time to update the code.

  It would be useful to take the Buffalo Linkstation my switch and plugged into another device perhaps as the old switch from netgear.

  It is possible that we, according to what I saw in your screenshot 1 above, turn off auto-negotiation ethernet port or uncheck auto-negotiation on my switch and difficulty or adjust the speed of the port to 1000 Full Duplex on both my switch port and the Buffalo Linkstation and see if connectivity works then.  Make sure you save any changes to my switch.

  Thus, measures we can try;

  1. look for the software updates of Linkstation and apply them,

  2. If that isn't counters port received to increment, remove the auto-negotiation ethernet on both my switch and the Buffalo Linkstation and see if the packages flowing.

  [ Note: I've highlighted the word at a time to indicate that auto-negotiation of ethernet ports is cut at one end of an ethernet link should be disabled at the other end of the link ethernet so]

• Win 7 is unable to map drive Buffalo Linkstation network

  Hi, for some reason or another my Win 7 can't map drive from Buffalo Linkstation network. He sees with FTP and it is found as a media server, but I can't just map it. My XP pc 'sees' without any problem and also my PS 3 'sees' but with Win7... no dice!

  I already turned off all restrictions on the part of Win 7, I did regedit to LmCompatibility key, I checked that the system time is same in both devices. Still no go with mapping

• The Task Manager > start > "there is no startup item to display? What is happening with my system?

  Long story short say, I just refresh my PC because it is having problem at the start of the system.

  After having updated the system and install a few programmes and I realized the BOOT parameters (Task Manager > startup) indicates "there is no startup item to display. I mean, it's crazy isn't?

  Having the same problem.  The 'start' in the Task Manager tab is empty, even though I checked that there are indeed elements in the key of HKCU\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run as well as in HKLM\Software\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run key.

  For some reason any the Task Manager no longer shows nothing in the Startup tab.

  I've learned since this tab can be quite finicky.  For example, delete the startup of your local directory of programs folder can cause to return empty.

  I had deleted this folder:

  C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

  Once, I restored the folder, the start in the Task Manager tab started working again.

• Item Renderer display optimization

  I pretty basic line item converter displayed within a group of data, it is composed of a few labels and an icon. There a a few nested to display everything properly, but I it would not consider a layout that is complicated by all means.

  Whenever I have show a result set, 20 rows of data, it seems that stifles Flex showing makes it point. It takes about half a second from the moment where all makes them point have been created to actually draw on the screen and the Flex code that handles the drawing seems to hang, because everything on the screen freezes during this period of the second half. This blocking becomes an application rich very fluid display in a mess agitated as soon as the results are displayed.

  At first glance, I count 1 BorderContainer, 7 groups and about 8-10 additional subclasses of UIComponent. That's a lot for an MXML itemRenderer past. The sad truth seems to be that MXML is just not effiecient, nor promote the design effiecient. It seems that Adobe has already abandoned MXML completely from his Mobile for pure AS3 envelopes, if it's no idea.

• Page not allowing transparency master items no display

  I'll implement a model of our company newsletter and have put teachers, etc.. Tab Pages, the first spread (C-Back and Front (A) shows the icons on page with transparent (clear and grey boxes) while the second broadcast (B-inside) shows blank page icons. When I consult the C and a page, the master page items is displayed correctly, but to pages B, master items are not displayed. If I ask the master for A or C to B pages, then transparency is very well and master items appear, but when I re - apply the master B, none of the masters show. I start with one of the templates provided with InDesign, Newsletter3, containing the B of pages showing transparency if obviously it's something I've done, but I don't know what or how to fix it. Any help would be appreciated.

  icon transparency should not have anything to do with it.  That just shows that you have an object any on this page which has a transparent filter or it mix put on it.  could you explain more about the way in which you set up your master B.

  One thing, you should check out: funny to your pages.  You should have facing pages running with this model.  Go to file > Document and make sure facing pages is checked.  Looks like you have applied on the right of the B-inside spread page, which I think is empty.  The angle of the page in your control panel should be facing inwards as well as on your master spread.  Let me know if I'm not being clear.  Best

• Preview InDesign question: items not displayed in preview mode or printing

  In Indesign, some elements (images and text) are hidden in preview mode even if their layer options are checked for printing and display. This was discssed with chat support but support could not solve the problem by taking a quick glance to the queue for an hour, and I had to leave the cat.

  Could someone give advice if it seems familiar?

  What is happening in and outside, and it's not all items disappear in preview mode. I even reinstalled the application, but it made no difference.

  With the actual selected item, open the attributes Panel and check that there is not printable.

  The other possibility is that you have a white object to overprint.

  Exactly how you set the value of B in the 'onchange' for A Manager?
  If you all work when B is not a hidden item, you should be able to define B as a text box, then use the 'visibility' CSS attribute to hide the loading of the page.

  Export from Opera
  File > import & export > > export to HTML

  Then import them into Firefox
  Bookmarks > organize bookmarks-> import and backup - import HTML... = a HTML file

  I have some experience with this external HARD drive and to be honest it of not possible to remove the external CD-Rom USB option from the post office.

  As far as I know after connecting to the laptop the small window pops up asking you the password. As far as I know that I used the standard password 12345 or something like that.
  After validation of password successfully the USB HDD appeared in my computer.

  I tried to disable this and use the HARD drive without the software and CD-ROM option, but it has not been possible

  Seems you have to use it with the CD-ROM option in my computer.
