Buffalo WII-1750DHP

Hello everyone.  What someone with the Buffalo-WII-1750DHP router?  I bought it because my old 1 TB TimeCapsule wifi radio is dying.  I thought that I would pass a router to AC that would allow me to hang a big drive at the back for backups Time Machine at a reasonable price.  This router seemed well side and has all the features I was looking for.

However, it seems Back to My Mac doesn't work now.  I checked the uPnp settings and they are enabled, as verified by the router log.  But I am unable to connect to one of my machines, when I'm outside the network.  Does anyone else have this problem?  I'm waiting on support Buffalo to get back to me.  In the meantime, I was thinking about leaving old TimeCapsule the router principal and just do the WII 1750DHP a WAP browser.  I don't know if the USB 3.0 on the back remains accessible and whether or not it would work as a destination of TimeMachine in this way.  The other issue that I can run is whether or not I can format the drive of the USB 3.0 with HFS.  I will lead my own test using a smaller USB drive (I have a 6 TB drive).

I thank all help with that.

... to the top for a router in AC that would allow me to hang a big drive off of the back for Time Machine backups ...

Then you will need a Time Capsule from Apple AirPort or AirPort Extreme current production. Both are in line 802.11ac. No other devices attached to the network storage will be reliable, no matter what that will tell you the manufacturer.

I was thinking about leaving old TimeCapsule the router principal and just do the WII 1750DHP a WAP browser.

You can use any router and add the TC as a customer on its Ethernet network, so it's not any concern with radio Wi - Fi from your existing Time Capsule. In this way, you can continue to use the hard disk drive of the existing TC as a backup destination Time Machine, or any player to USB hard drive connected to it. You will not require its Wi - Fi to operate and can (and must) turned off to avoid contributing to wireless interference. What you will not be able to do is to connect a hard drive to a non-Apple router and expect it to work with Time Machine.

I'm having a problem whereby the F4580 simply stops responding to network traffic after an hour or two of not used.

There are no settings in the built-in Web server to change this behavior, and the only way I can solve it is to power cycle the printer

So far, I tried the following:

Disabled IPv6 on router (Buffalo WII-HP-G300NH) and PC (Win7 64 bit)

Assigned to static IP address (from outside DHCP rank)

    Disabled all firewall

Forwarded to all ports mentioned on this post

Installed the printer using a USB cable, Ethernet and WPS

Set of wireless network at no encryption (also tried WEP and WPA)

Even tried an old Netgear router I had knocking around thinking bison was somehow inconsistent but still got the same problem

Strange thing is, when the printer is disconnected (normally after one hour of non-use), the Network Configuration page still shows the method static IP I assigned to it (192.168.11.20) the light remains blue wireless solid (as in 'connected'), but the client monitor on my router did not mention the printer or it is MAC address.

During this time I can not ping the printer from any PC on my local network. However after a power magically in the cycle it starts to work.

This seems like a problem with the NETWORK card wireless on the printer itself. Is it possible to prevent it from entering the mode 'sleep'?

    New firmware?

The only thing I can find on the HP support pages are basic and full (quite horrible) printer driver version and a useless "Network Diagnostic Utility.

I cannot accept "Fix" of HP of power cycling of the printer. What is the point of buying a wireless printer if I have to restart every time I want to print something?

Any help would be greaty appreciated

We will set an IP address of the printer:

-Print a the front of the printer Network Setup Page. Note the IP address of the printer.
-Enter the IP address in a browser to reveal the internal settings of the printer.
-Choose the network tab, then wireless along the left side, then on the IPv4 tab.
-On this screen, you want to set a manual IP address. You must assign an IP address outside the range that the router sets automatically (called the DHCP range). If you do not know the range, change the last set of numbers (those after the last '.') 250
-Apply the subnet 255.255.255.0 (unless you know it's different, if so, use it)
-Enter the IP of your router (on the Page of the Network Config) for the gateway.
-Enter for the first DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 for second DNS.
    -Click 'apply '.

Now, stop the router and printer, start the router, wait, and then start printing.

After that, you will have to redo 'Add printer' using the new IP address.

  • PX1268E - 1 40 and NAS Buffalo LinkStation Home

    Hello

I bought a PX1268E - 1 40 device to use as a backup for my NAS drive domestic (Station link Buffalo HD-HG400LAN).

Unfortunately while the NAS sees the device connected USB can not use it as a backup device (or external HARD drive). Initially, I spoke with Buffalo on this subject, and after trying many things they ask is possible to disable the mechanism for "Automatic Installation"?

When installing on my PC the PX1268E - 1 40 shows that two devices a USB external HDD and a CD-ROM USB device (which contains CD information). Is their * anyway to a deactivation * CD-ROM USB so that it is not reported to external systems (PC, NAS, etc.)?

    Thank you

    Hello

    > When installing on my PC the PX1268E - 1 40 shows that two devices a USB external HDD and a CD-ROM USB device (which contains CD information). Is their any way to disable the USB CD-ROM while it is not reported to external systems (PC, NAS, etc.)?

I have some experience with this external HARD drive and to be honest it of not possible to remove the external CD-Rom USB option from the post office.

As far as I know after connecting to the laptop the small window pops up asking you the password. As far as I know that I used the standard password 12345 or something like that.
After validation of password successfully the USB HDD appeared in my computer.

I tried to disable this and use the HARD drive without the software and CD-ROM option, but it has not been possible

Seems you have to use it with the CD-ROM option in my computer.

  • I can't reformat the external hard drive, Buffalo Technology.

I have an external drive that I had everything stored on and thought that he would never crash. but he did. I tried all the software out there to retrieve the data, and I know now that it is gone forever. I want to use it again (and make sure I save it constantly), but I'm unable to reformat the hard drive.

I looked online and tried all different types of software to format the hard drive, but I have not been successful. My PC can see it, but I'm unable to format it.

Any help on this would be highly appreciated.

    Hello

Here are a few questions for clarity on the issue:

    1. what operating system is installed on the computer?

2 have you tried to format the drive in Windows Explorer?

    3. what happens when you try to format the drive using different software?

Let us try the following and see if you can format the external hard drive:

Important note: Run the format, you clear the external hard disk.

Method 1: Format the drive in Windows Explorer.

    See the following steps:

    (a) click Start, click computer

    (b) right click on the drive and click format

    (c) follow the on-screen instructions for formatting.

Method 2: Format the drive in disk management.

    See the following article:

Create and format a hard disk partition:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/create-and-format-a-hard-disk-partition

If the methods above do not contribute or if you have a question, please answer, to help you further.

  • Windows Server 2008 R2 after trying to make a backup of Buffalo Linkstation no start

A colleague logged the buffalo linkstation to our server and tried to save her. Something has gone wrong (the backup was not completed) and the server restarted. Now it starts (the scroll bar ends and after it I see the mouse cursor in the black screen) and after a few reboots seconds. I can't disable the auto restart after system failure in the bios (there is no such function). And this isn't a hardware problem (I connected the HDD on another machine and the result was the same).

I tried fixboot, fixmbr, rebuildbcd comands in command prompt and they have all successfully completed, but the error still exists. Maybe someone has had this or a similar problem and knows the solution?   Thanks in advance!
