Bug in measure Automation Explorer 4.6.2f1?

Hello

After the MAX 4.6.2f1 (installing LabVIEW 2009 SP1 alias 9.0.1) I can not change the names of devices in MAX. For example if I create a simuolated device, I can't change the name of /dev1 to /my_device.

Anyone having similar problems with new MAX?

Here is the screenshot. Sorry, it's in German. I posted the translation above. No Code error or something.

I thank the of for the screenshot. The German is no problem for me.

It resembles a database corrupted Max.

Follow the steps described in the following link. Perhaps that will solve your problem.

http://digital.NI.com/public.nsf/allkb/86256F0E001DA9FF86256FFD005B827C

But the cleanup of the corrupt database will delete all configuration settings. The next time that MAX is started, you will need to reconfigure your hardware.

  • How to uninstall corrupted NI Measurement & Automation Explorer?

    Hello

I have problem to install LabView 2012 and all components, cos does not properly uninstall my version previous (2012).

I have LabView_Fall_2012 and NI_Device_Drivers_August2012 and Win7 x 64. (try to install it on a partition not OS).

Now when I try to install new I get "OR Measurement & Automation Explorer 5.3 (superior version already installed)" and installation stops there.

My goal is to set everything up if possible to properly uninstall and then reinstall it. Now I have managed to remove most of the files, reg entries and stopping services, but some things are still left.

What can I do for that Setup to deal with?

Its possible to remove all the files/reg manually?

    There is a file that cannot be deleted ' C:\Program Files (x 86) \National Instruments\Shared\mDNS Responder\nimdnsNSP.dll ", its possible to remove it?

Thanks a lot for your help

    IMHO, there are two options:

    1. try to reinstall 5.4 MAX, download here

    2. the STI DLL used by the LV you update tool can remove it using this tool: Unlocker

  • Cannot open Control Panel Test VISA in Measurement & Automation Explorer

With the help of Visa OR Measurement & Automation Explorer. Select the devices and Interfaces and select my device. The Test Visa Open Panel is grayed out and is not available. Hi David,

I'm glad that you solved. It could be that the library file has been installed, but that it was somehow lost and unable to be found by measurement and Automation Explorer. A massive compilation could have located this file and placed in the expected folder. I'm curious to know if you did a search system for the library file? I know you have talked about doing one for the file in the document I linked to you. Whatever it is, I'm glad that you were able to get this working.

    Have a great day!

  • NEITHER Measurement & Automation Explorer 5.0 (superior version already installed)

I have downloaded the driver NOR-DAQmx 9.4, but when I try to install it I get the message:

    Cannot install

o OR Measurement & Automation Explorer 5.0 (superior version already installed)

What does that mean? I have LabVIEW 2012 (Windows), version 12.0, 64 bit.

    Thank you

    Neil

I think what is happening is that DAQmx is installed correctly, but the installer also try to install an older version of Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX), which is what causes the error.

You can check that DAQmx has been properly installed by opening MAX and check if it is listed on the software tab on the left.

One thing to keep in mind is that 9.4 DAQmx is not compatible with LabVIEW 2012, so you can just upgrade to the latest version of DAQmx, which is 9.6 and is compatible with LabVIEW 2012.

  • LabVIEW Measurement & Automation Explorer very slow

    Hi all

Here is my setup of the system and the version of LAbView:

    • [LabView professional Development System - Version 11.0 - 32-bit]
    • OPERATING SYSTEM - windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit SP1 [MS]
    • CPU - [Intel Core i7-2600 processor 3.40 GHz]
    • MEMORY - [16.0 GB RAM]
    • GPU - [NVIDIA GeForce GT 530]
    • OR PXI-7951R & NOR 5761

Everything works absolutely fine until yesterday. All of a sudden, everything about LabView is very slow. Send commands to run the stepper motor and even check on Measurement & Automation Explorer. There have been major changes in the updates or removing software from National Instruments. Everything is intact. My antivirus is AVG (which is a recent change after I removed mcaffee, but I don't think that's maybe the reason).

any kind of advice is appreciated.

    Thank you.

Add or change your antivirus/firewall can have a major effect on LabVIEW and related products, because they can potentially block your network connections. MAX scans your network for remote devices.

I also had a problem a while back where my Firewall blocked access to shared variables. The following instructions helped me: http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/371361G-01/lvhowto/createditlogosxt/ (I don't think this affects the MAX, but I mention this in case you encounter a similar problem)

  • problem w / measure automation explore or/o Inst Asst

    Hello

I'm new to Labview and I work my way through the tutorial. I loaded 3 disks for measurement Automation Explorer such that I can complete getting started with Labview Ch.4, using a DAQ hardware. The part where I place an e/s of Instrument on the block diagram Wizard is taking me to the top. When I double click the sub VI, it appears an error message telling me that "measurement automation explore or e/s Instrument wizard is not installed correctly. I loaded the disc twice up to now, the same questions. No one around the Office can understand it, either. I use discs of Labview dated February 2007, NOR MAX 4.2, 3.0, NI DAQmx 8.5 compliance record. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  • How to set the Date and time on a remote target in Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX)?

    Hello

I'm trying to follow the steps described in the following link:

How to set the Date and time on a remote target in Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX)?

    It is said

The software on the target currently supports only the time zoneand deletes the old files?

I need set the date and time

and remove all the old unwanted files

the calendar was gray does not allow me to change the current date.

    Anyone know how to change

    Hi all!

According to this the below Knowledge Base article, Remote Configuration System Support must be installed on the target for time settings to change in MAX.

    http://digital.NI.com/public.nsf/allkb/FAB0EC4D6E5EE0F386257738005733A3?OpenDocument&MeTC=max_MAXDat...

If you don't know what version of the system supported remote Configuration software that you have installed on your device target, it is likely that it is not yet installed. Add this software by clicking below your target to the MAX software option and selecting "Add/Remove Software". This is where you will install the System Configuration Remote Support software.

  • How capture and save a sequence continues to images using NI 1422 LVDS card capture, through Measurement & Automation Explorer?

It is possible to capture and record a sequence of images with a LVDS OR 1422 EZMaker using Measurement & Automation Explorer?  Everything is installed correctly and running and I am able to use the "Snap" command to save an image, as well as the 'Grab' command, but it seems that you must stop the dump command before you can save anything, and it only allows you to save the final image.  Is there a way to record a sequence that is being caught, or should I use LabVIEW or other additional software to do this?

    Kind regards

    James S.

    Hello James,.

You will need to LabVIEW or another environment development in order to record a sequence of images. If you have LabVIEW and the Acquisition of Vision software, you will be able to capture and save images in an AVI file. There are examples that come with the Acquisition of Vision software that can do this.

    I hope this helps.

  • Measurement & Automation Explorer crashes while loading

    Hello

I recently bought a DAQ (PCI-6239) card. I installed the NOR-DAQmx driver that came with it and follow the installation steps. When I was at the time of the opening of the Explorer Measurement & Automation to detect my Board, it crashed during the loading of the "plug-ins loading" and invites the error message "M & A E has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. If you were in the middle of something, the information you were working on might be lost. »

I tried to repair, reinstall and update all software OR related. Nothing has worked. I uninstalled LabView in case there was a mistake with it and reinstall DAQmx again. None of this has worked. I wonder whether it is a known issue or if there is some kind of problem with my system/OS. I use Win XP SP3.

I have not tried the software to open after you have uninstalled the PCI card, but that would really help me if the software works without the card.

    Thank you

    Adam,

I had the operating system reinstalled with LabView 8.2 (it seems that it is the license available at the moment at our University). I downloaded the latest version of the drivers and now everything seems to work very well. From this point, our tech lab should be able to guide me on how to make the "connection" between my DAQ in MAX card and my LabView VI.

    Thanks for your help!

  • My MS Office Communicator opens when I click on 'Connect with instrument' on Measurement & Automation Explorer.

    Hello

Recently I am having problems using the option "contact instrument" on measurement and Automation Explorer.  When I tried to click on 'communicate with instrument' button, my MS Office Communicator starts to open, then an error message appears indicating that "specified address is not recognized or does not exist. With this, I can't use MAX Explorer

for the purpose of debugging. Apart from this problem, communication between my PC and my instruments are okay during the VI run. Hope you could help me with that. Thank you!

I see this on two machines in my group too. Bringing this back to the top to see if we can get an answer. What do you think of gurus OR?

  • How to specify the sampling frequency? Must use "measurement & Automation Explorer '?

I use to measure the input current analog OR cDAQ-9171 (chassis only location USB) and NOR-9207. I have 2010 NOR-installed DAQmx and LabVIEW.

How can I specify the sampling frequency?

If I use M & A Explorer to create the task, I can specify the flow rate (Hz) on the Configuration tab-> sync settings.

For the acquisition of data NOR, it is mandatory to use M & A exploring?

If I don't want to use M & A Explorer, how can I specify the rate (Hz)?

    Hello

You can specify the sampling frequency with "DAQmx Timing.vi" located in the function palette DAQmx (read context-sensitive help on how to use wisely).

You do not have to use M & A exploring (MAX) to create a task.

A simple and quick way is to use DAQ Assistant (same configuration as in MAX) to configure your measurement.

Another is to use blocks of DAQmx function to manually build your application code.

In my experience Assistant DAQ is ideal for simple tasks (one measure), with regard to the more complex measures (synchronized the analog and digital inputs).

I tend to use function blocks because they give you more freedom about code execution.

Note: You can also build DAQmx code from a wizard configured DAQ task.

    Best regards

  • PXI-2576-200055 by Measurement & Automation Explorer error code

    Hallo,

I have a problem on the PXI-2576 switch.

When I open Explorer - MY, I can see the PXI-2576 devices and also the automatic test and reset to zero, they are OK, no problem.

But when I click on the button "Testpanel", there is always an error message "error-200055 occurred at DAQmx Get relay Position .vi:1 (multiple)" Details on the Photo.

Is there anyone know what I need to do?

    Thank you very much!

    Hello

You can just get rid of this error by removing the special characters in our devicename.

Find below I have a screenshot where I changed the name of the device for example PXI2576Multiplexer. This works.

I also tried with the name that you used. ->, it causes the error. -200055

I hope that the info solved the problem on your machine.

  • Measurement & Automation explore (MAX) cannot find any serial ports

    Hello

I tried half of the internet, but I can't find a solution for my problem. Maybe someone of you have an idea :-)

    My System Information:

    OS: Windows 7 (64-bit)

LabView: LabView Professional Development System 2015 (32 bit)

    MAX: Version 15.0.0f0

    NI-VISA: 15.0

    NOR-Serial 14.0

I've attached a screenshot of MAX at the end of my post.

All the drivers for serial ports are properly installed (see another screenshot). But Max, I can't find these ports. There is only the error code "0xBFFF0011 (VI_ERROR_RSRC_NFOUND). If I want to add the COM Port via 'Devices and Interfaces'--> 'New'--> ' Port (serial or parallel) ", I can only choose between COM1-COM4 and LPT1-LPT4. But I need COM9!

Anyone have any idea what I did wrong?

    Thank you

    deZeus

I looks like something is wrong with your installation OR VISA (as MAX does not find ALL ports).  Make sure that NEITHER VISA is activated (sometimes of other kinds of visa in the way), or try reinstalling NI VISA.  Serial number NOR is not necessary since you are not serial ports using OR.

  • The measurement and Automation Explorer is completely empty. No idea why?

    Hello

When I open Measurement & Automation Explorer, there is nothing in the main boxes, boxes are completely empty. The top toolbar with file/Edit/tools is there, but all that is empty.

I had good success with the SCXI-1000 chassis in a few years when I did further research at another University. At my new University, it gave me access to an SCXI-1000 chassis with an SCXI-1600 module to connect to the computer via USB. I reinstalled windows on an old computer to 64-bit, had the hand of the entire system, the Measurment and Autiomation Explorer open as expected, then was that NEITHER ceased support for the SCXI-1600 on a Win 7 Pro 64-bit modules. So, I've divided the hard drive into two partitions, installed Win 7 Pro 32 bit and reinstalled NOR then installed the updates for a few hours.

When I try to turn on measurement and Automation Explorer, there is nothing in the window. What can I do to get the various boxes? I went to tools > reset Configuration data.

    Nicholas,

I recently saw a similar problem on another post. This person has received the exact same blank screen because Windows Firewall has blocked MAX (nimax.exe). Try turning off your firewall temporarily and then see if MAX runs. If so, you will need to add an exception in your firewall settings. If this isn't the case, you could have operated in a corrupted installation and the need to do a repair.

  • You want to know the NI-VISA order in measurement and Automation Explorer

    Hello

I use measure and Explorer of automation to connect my equipment through LAN and it works well.

But this device does not detect my code VBA with Ni-VISA. I want to know how the software (measurement and Automation Explorer) generates the connection and reading the message of compression inside the unit.
