Bug in writing on a worksheet VI file

Hello

There is a bug in the write to VI file worksheet.

The field delimiter is said in the documentation \t default, while in reality it uses by default nothing - what is useless.

By default by passing comma is in my opinion a better choice, but it is secondary.

Thank you Tim!

Guillaume,

You can either open the FP of scripture to... together at \t (view codes slash), then right click on and select data... make current values default.

Do a repair on your installation of LV.

  • Writing data in the CSV file?

    I tried, but in vain, to write data in the CSV file, with the column headers of the file labeled appropriately to each channel as we do in LabView (see attached CSV).  I know that developers should do this same in .net.  Can anyone provide a snippet of code to help me get started?  In addition, maybe there is a completely different way to do the same thing instead of writing directly to the CSV file?  (In fact, I really need to fill a table with data and who join the CSV every seconds of couple).  I have the tables already coded for each channel, but I'm still stuck on how to get it in the CSV file.  I'm coding in VB.net using Visual Studio 2012, Measurement Studio 2013 Standard.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

  • Waveforms of writing to the worksheet to help to write on the worksheet vi

    Hello

    Problems with writing 2 waveforms of the myDAQ to a worksheet. Using the "write on the worksheet vi.' does not work as it records in the file, but when you open the file to look at the results, there is no data." I got a screenshot of used vi, unfortunately the file as an attachment could not be validated. Someone sees the problem and no solution?

    You need to do a little basic troubleshooting. Make a right-click on the son goes into the loop, and selection "probe". After you run the VI, the content of the probe and see if there is no data there. I had to put a delay in the loop of the acquisition or specify a number of samples to get the data in a consistent manner.

  • Writing data in the text file or excel spreadsheet

    Hello

    I have a silly question to ask questions about the writing of data in a text file or a spreadsheet. I have an example that simulates a sine-swept DAQmx. The output it provides is the (amplitude and phase) frequency response function that is plotted on a graph (see VI) attached. I like to use these data for further analysis by transmitting the data to a text file or a spreadsheet. I've tried a few things, but the thread is broken. I guess I use the sink badly - so I was wondering, can you please advise me on what sink should I use?

    Your help would be very appreciated,

    Thank you very much

    REDA

    The wire is broken, because you cannot connect this type of data to one of these two functions. The data source type is a table 1 d of the clusters, where each cluster contains two tables. The text file write accepts strings, not clusters. Writing on a file action accepts dynamic data, and while you can convert dynamic data tables, there is no built-in mechanism to convert a table 1 d of the clusters of two matrices.

    What you need to do is to convert the data in a format which can be accepted by these functions. Since you want to have a "spreadsheet" file then you should use writing to the spreadsheet file that creates a delimited text file. Since the frequency data would be the same for the plot of the magnitude and phase diagrams, you can have 3 columns: frequency, amplitude, and phase. You can take off the items using Unbundle by name, and then create a table 2D of each element of the cluster. The real question is to know if you want to save the data at each iteration and if you simply add on the file. The attached figure shows write an initial header and then adding just streaming the data.

  • LV2010: bug in writing express vi?

    Hello

    I have software that works very well in LV8.6 and I got the (bad?) ideea upgrade to LV 2010. After make an exe with LV2010 this program is no more (the error is to save it to file express vi).

    I can reproduce this error on two different computers (LV 2010 with or without the patch of F4, before and after a complete reinstallation of the LV 2010, french Win32 XP, SP3).

    Can you confirm this error as well by doing this:

    Make a new vi

    Add to this vi an express vi for writing to a file (I have attached my here).

    The rebuild (ctrl + shift + arrow)

    the vi is now broken and many errors are displayed (the vi with errors is protected by Word).

    on the other hand, without having to recompile, make an exe: it works?

    Thank you

  • Help with writing/reading-key key ini files (double) and defined accurarcy

    Hello

    in a pop-up window, the user can insert a digital double value.

    This value is stored in an ini file using the writing-key-vi with Type = double. Works very well.

    What should I do to adjust the values after the decimal point?

    If the user inserts 1 532 so I want to round to two digits after the decimal point and save it. (-> 1.53)

    THX

    I don't know how LV treats different decimal separators (for example, the comma instead of point), I guess that's "just works" according to settings system locale.

    A few options are available as follows...

    The function write key has an entry of 'precision' which will set the number of decimal places to save the DBL to (in your case, set it to 2):

    If you use a number field, you can set the 'increment' property to 'force close' to keep them out in more accurately than is available:

    The obvious method for rounding of the entry is to scale the number, rounded to the nearest integer and then divide again to limit the accuracy:

    I couldn't see anything in the digital pallets / math that does this.

  • A Bug in Get Photos and videos of files and folders in PSE 8

    Today, I shot a few pictures with my digital camera, then used the Canon software to load to my computer that is running Windows 7 x 64.  The Canon software created a folder named 2010_05_31 in the C:\CanonPowerShot directory and downloaded files. Explorer Windows see the folders and files.

    I started PSE8, has chosen to organize, then a Ctrl-Shift-G to catalog the new images. Organizer is in the thumbnail view. I've navigated to C:\CanonPowerShot and scrolls to the bottom of the window to find the 2010_05_31 folder. Oops, the list ends at 2010_05_13, the last folder I was cataloged in the Organizer.

    I cancelled the import and switched organizer at the sight of folder location. Since I had already catalogued records of C:\CanonPhowerShot, all files have been listed in the left pane - including the new folder 2010_05_31. I have a right-click on the 2010_05_31 folder icon and selected import feature. The files have been imported correctly.

    I went back to the display of the thumbnail, once again clicked on Ctrl-Shift-G and navigated to the directory C:\CanonPowerShot. Once more the list of files ended with the 2010_05_13 file. This time, I looked through the list of 75 records and found the second 2010_05_31 file from above, as indicated between the 2004_09_30 and 2004_10_01 folders.  In other words, it is out of sequence of collation.

    To summarize: when you try to add pictures using the Get Photos and videos from files and folders, the window to select files is not in the proper sequence of ranking. The files are in the right sequence of classification in Windows Explorer. The files are in the sequence of classification appropriate in the left pane in the location of the Organizer folder view - before and after importation. The only non alphanumeric character in file names is the underscore character (_); There is no periods (.).

    Since the folder is listed in the correct classification sequence in both Windows Explorer and in the left panel of the display location of the Organizer folder, I doubt that there is not displayable character in the name.

    Also has anyone seen this problem?  How we report these bugs to Adobe, or should I even bother?

    I wonder if the Browse dialog box has somehow decided to sort by other criteria.  Refer to the screenshot below and try the following steps:

    1. in the file > get Photos and videos > window of files and folders, click the View Menu (1).

    2. Select Details (2).

    3. click on the column name to sort by name - clicking again changes the order increasing, decreasing and vice versa.

    4 try clicking on some of the other columns to sort by them.

    Different versions of windows supposedly remember the last settings for a folder, but I can't ever understand their 'smart' rules to achieve this. Every time I open a file in a standard Browse dialog box or in Windows Explorer, it is often appears in view of evil with the incorrect sort order.

  • faced with the question when writing data to a flat file with UTL_FILE.

    Hi gurus,

    We have a procedure that writes the data from the table to a flat file. RAC is implemented on this database.
    While writing data if the current instance, this procedure creates two copies of the data in parts.

    Any body can help me to solve this problem.

    Thanks in advance...

    I also asked this question, but it seems no final solution...

    In any case, here are two possibilities
    (1) the directory for the file among all nodes share
    (2) run you a procedure on a specific node

  • Continous writing in the external text file

    I'm trying to build a VI in labVIEW that will supply a decimal value based on a binary file to enter a box structure. The structure of the case will display a string value according to the decimal places of entry. The problem that I wrote the string value to a text file that will continue to write while the Vi is constantly running.

    Here are a few suggestions (you'll learn a lot more if you try to do this yourself, instead of my giving you a 'solution').

    • You have 8 Boolean commands.  Consider making a table (size 8) Boolean controls (among other things, it does help group them for you).
    • If you look at the range of Booleans, you will see a function of "array of numbers.  Guess what that so "feed you" an array of Boolean 8...  You can eliminate a lot of code by doing this.
    • Your numbers are all integers, so it is not sensible to save as a double.
    • You have a configured here While loop.  What you think about quick check how it works?  Do you care?  Do you want to it is running "as fast as possible?  Do you want it to run at a fixed speed (for example, a loop per second)?  Do you want it runs 'when something happens?
    • Good thing you have done, is recognize that the task of recording has three parts - Open (performed only once), Write (done as often as necessary) and closed (performed only once).  You also correctly positioned the relevant functions before, inside and after the while loop.  I'm not 100% certain it's important in this particular case, but usually when we done that and has a While loop, running on the same "variable" on several occasions, the wire is put in a shift instead of a pair of tunnels register.  Even if it is not necessary here, it would be a good change to make, because it will be necessary in other cases.

    I did not actually run your code, but do not see something terribly wrong with it.  Try to make the changes I suggested (which will allow you to significantly reduce the size of your VI).  Special attention to the question of the 'speed '.  If you republish your "improved" VI (and thanks for posting it), you could describe a little better "the problem I have" - what do I do, or what he does not?

  • Problem of width of column writing to the worksheet

    Hello world

    Does anyone know how to adjust the column width when you use the "write to the spreadsheet" vi in Labview?

    I always have a long string as the title and the excel file would show only part of it after that I dump them to it.

    I'm not sure that the width setting is Microsoft Excel or Labview himself.

    Any help is appreciated,

    Thank you very much

    + Kunsheng

    Hi Kunsheng,

    If you use the function 'Write to a spreadsheet file', then you can not set the width. You create a txt file with this function, not real excel file. For a true Excel file, you can use ActiveX.

  • Problem writing to / reading a binary file in a loop

    Hello

    As you can see in the image of rasthaus, I try to write a 2 * 202 data set in each iteration of the loop the loop, but when I try to read the data (on the second picture) I only have the first (or, I guess) set of data, up to 202 index. I needed to read the two together (X, Y) of valuse 402. So, I don't know if I'm wrong to write Victorian in the file or playlist, it!

    I really appreciate it if someone could suggest a solution

    Mary

    Your file has only 1 set of data in it.  But looking at the code to write the file, I think that your error is with the setting of the file position.  The default position is the beginning of the file, which means that you will just be overwriting all data you have in the file.  You must specify to set the end of the file by setting the entry of 'From' to 'end '.

  • Writing in the worksheet

    Hi all. I have my attached Vi, which does nothing more than feeding an output voltage of 1 to 5, each 3-seconds, unless you press the stop button. I don't like the stop button, I chose because, if accidentally put in true state before you run Vi, it throws an error I do not know how to recover from. However, this isn't what concerns me is, for the moment. I'll try to fix it on my own first. What I am not sure do now is to know how to write a value in each case on a spreadsheet structure. I tried to use arrays and store the data of each case of effluent to a location on the table, without a bit of luck. I went through section 1 basic tables to see what I'm doing wrong, did not help me. It must be much easier I have do it. First of all, am I right to assume that I must first write this in a table, and then transfer the data at the end of the cycle Vi, or should I write directly to a worksheet after the close of each business structure? I thank very you much.

  • Data loss when writing to the worksheet

    I worked on a VI to acquire data from two instruments and save them in a spreadsheet. To do this, I wrote two screws slot for data - one for a scale and the other for a conductivity meter and temperature. Regardless, each sub - VI works well; However, the conductivity meter sometimes writes a 0 value in the worksheet in the main VI. I thought it could have been a problem with the sub - VI, so I wrote a small article to catch and eliminate any 0 result product (I've put in place to collect an array of results and get the average to reduce noise). It did not work and every 5 or more data points, he writes a strange value or NaN. I think there is a loss of data in main VI caused by one of a few things:

    -The response time of the scale is the order of milliseconds, but the response time of the conductivity meter sends a signal every 5 seconds. This difference would cause a loss of data?

    -In the main VI, the scale readable Subvi is configured to perform a loop for to generate the table in the main VI. On the sub - VI conductivity, I configured it to run the loop in the Subvi. This difference would result in a loss?

    I have attached a few pictures of the block diagram to help.

    Thanks for the help, guys!

    I thought about it. By running the loop inside the Subvi, rather than in the main VI, he was losing some data as it came out (?). In any case, once I put in place similar to the VI scale reading, everything worked fine. I think that, anyway. It will not look like you guys don't have nothing, but forcing me to put the problems on paper has helped tremendously. Thank you!

  • Writing in the FMS log file

    I want to write in the log FMS of a rule. The following code works from the script console:

    println "output from test '.

    However when I put this in the rule condition I get no output in the log of the FMS. I do something wrong or isn't it possible? Or is there a better way please let me know.

    Thank you

    Kris

    Yes, it is possible to write in the FMS log within a rule or an expression of varying severity. As long as your logic is called in the rule condition, you should see the output in the FMS log file.

  • Writing XML object in a file

    Hi, I use InDesign JavaScript to make an XML object in memory. When my script's done, I want to write the XML to a file. When I run the code below, the file is created, but XML is not written to the file. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you. Rick

    #target indesign

    var partsMap = <partsMap />;
    savePartsMap (partsMap);

    function savePartsMap (partsMap) {

        var partsFile;

        // Make a File object for the parts map XML file.
        partsFile = new File("E:\\Test.xml");
        // Open the map file.
        partsFile.open("w");
        partsFile.write(partsMap);
        partsFile.close();
    }

    Add partsFile.encoding = 'UTF-8'; right after the instantiation of your file.

    I don't know, but you can also write partsMap.toXMLString() instead of the partsMap.toString() you write implicitly.
