  • White screen after the Satellite Pro P200 display driver update

I installed the latest display driver ATI Mobility Radeon HD2600 (8.432, on the site of Toshiba through Tempo) on my Satellite Pro P200 yesterday. Reboot, everything seems good as much as the screen "Please wait...". "Windows Vista professional, but instead of showing the page of connection I get an empty screen (with a mouse cursor that moves around as usual). All I can do at this point is to be able to, and I'm running out of ideas on how to move forward.

    Things I've tried:
    # start in safe mode, the video resolution or last known good configuration, result the same screen empty.
    # connect to the system using remote desktop (to disable the driver) is not possible because the system has not yet loaded the network drivers.
    # I can't go back to a restore point because Vista can't find (I did a manual after you install updates windows over a couple of days).
I can run a system command line options of recovery and prefer to use it to disable the driver + if + I knew how before the use of the more radical options.

A search on the web (http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=ati+catalyst+vista+blank+screen&hl=en&sa= N) reveals that this has happened on a wide range of laptops with
previous versions of the driver, but none of the links I've looked at to give a solution which does not exist for me.

I agree with Hairyfool, you who should solve problems using an external display. If no image appears, then something with the material might be.

  • Can I downgrade my Satellite Pro P200 for Windows XP?

    Hello

I bought my Satellite Pro P200 (PSPB7E) a week ago and I love it. I have an unused XP license, so I would like to downgrade.

Is this problem? I don't see xp for a Chicony webcam drivers or the HD-DVD player.
I'd really appreciate some feedback. There must be someone out there who has tried to do.

    Thank you in advance!

    Hello

Of course you can downgrade the satellite Pro P200 for Windows XP.

When installing XP, you need to install the Intel Storage Manager. It is a SATA driver that is needed to activate the HARD disk.

    Regarding the webcam driver.
I checked the page European driver of Toshiba and the Chicony webcam driver is certainly available.

The HD DVD driver is not necessary because the Windows XP must use an own ODD driver.

  • Question about Firewire Port on Satellite Pro P200

Can someone tell me if I can connect an audio interface (firewire) to the nearest port of the front on the left side of my P200?

    Hello

I guess that the support of the Satellite Pro P200 4pol firewire (IEEE 1394) port.
Your external audio device supports firewire 6pol ports.
That's why you need a cable or an adapter which favour both standards firewire; 4pol and 6pol

I think a cable like this should help you connect audio devices for satellite Pro P200

  • Satellite Pro P200-HD: how to use it with Win XP

Recently, I received the new Satellite Pro P200 HD of Getech. I asked Getech to change the XP operating system because my University will not support Vista. I was told that some features are lost with XP, such as the hot key utility and I agreed to go ahead.

However, I was not informed that the sound is scratchy and the video will behave as if I play a scratched CD.
It is true with windows sounds as well. I was not able to enjoy the music or video. I have all the drivers updated and the new Bios XP released recently has been updated.

Please does anyone know someone using this model with XP as an operating system with the sound and video works properly?

I installed Windows XP on the Satellite Pro P200-14W and installed all the drivers I could find on the Web of Toshiba site following the instructions provided.

I always have a controller memory PC that appear in hardware Manager who is not driver related to it.

My main problem however is that at random intervals (sometimes when you pull the power cable) the defects of the screen and turns into a mess of the desktop computer and the computer must be restarted because it does more. I tried several types of graphics drivers, but this does not stop the problem.

Any ideas on how to solve this problem would be greatly appreciated.

If you have installed XP on this laptop Vista you must also update the BIOS to the version of Windows XP.
Seems that at this time it s a 5.00Win version of the BIOS.

To get rid of the yellow exclamation mark in Device Manager, you must install the
Flash Media Driver. This is the driver for your bridge Media Slot. This slot allows you to insert an SD card, Memory Stick (Pro) or xD picture cards.

  • Satellite Pro P200 - 17 c: Win XP won't load - installation of the SATA driver

    Hello

I have a satellite pro p200 - 17 c I've had good years, allways worked without any problem.

Last week when I booted the laptop, windows won't load and I find myself safe mode selection screen. No options whatsoever me to windows loading, I tried F8 and still nothing.

I tried the restore cd that reimagee the drive but I get the same thing, I tried a new hard drive, once again the same.

But if I try to load windows from an OEM to install that software does not because it is a sata drive and there is no floppy drive. I have an external floppy drive I use, but it is not known now.

    Any ideas or suggestions?

    Hello

Go to BIOS and set it to default settings.

In this case the SATA mode must be on AHCI. In this case the SATA drivers are required to install the Windows operating system. But as much as I know that Windows 7 already contains the SATA drivers if usually you don t had to add SATA drivers while OS installation the installation program.

However, here is a nice HowTo document that helps you add SATA drivers for Win XP installation disc.

  • Failure of the BIOS - Satellite Pro P200 - 16 c

I installed Windows 7 64 bit on a laptop Satellite Pro P200 today. I then tried flashing the BIOS through windows with program Flash BIOS on Toshiba driver download page. I used the program flash for Vista because none is available for Windows 7. The program started and took a backup of my old version of BIOS and then Flash the BIOS. Then after a while an error occurred saying that this operating system was not supported.

Alright. I restarted the computer and he was going to access the BIOS to see if the new version was done to install or not. But I can't access the BIOS now since the TI of suddenly password protected. I tried Google known standard Phoenix BIOS passwords, but they do not work. Now I've mistyped the password if often the computer won't let me even start without entering a correct password.

How can I reset the BIOS? Should I open the laptop and remove the CMOS battery? Which will work?

    Help, please...

    Hello

You used not compatible BIOS and it seems that module ROM BIOS was not flashed properly.
Unfortunately, there is nothing to do but to contact the ASP of Toshiba in your country,
Guys could remove the password and can reflash the BIOS using a traditional disk BIOS version and the crisis.

    > How can I reset the BIOS? Should I open the laptop and remove the CMOS battery? Which will work?
No, remove the CMOS battery would not help because as far as I know that the CMOS battery is not removable on laptops just ASP can clear the BIOS password.

  • Satellite Pro P200-15W: update according to BIOS 1.9 fans walk all the time

I have a Satellite Pro P200-15W. After recently running the BIOS update to version 1.9, the fans started running all the time and are extremely loud. Also, he did weird things for Firefox, Thunderbird and NAV.

I would like to "Uninstall" the update of the BIOS if possible. I found [this link: http://askiris.toshiba.com/ToshibaSupportSite/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=1080 89xml & sliceId = & dialogid = 24408215 & stateId = 0% 200% 202 4406262] who treats the restore running CD.

If I run this CD, which will certainly restore the BIOS to the previous version?

Is there a less destructive way (ie: that does not erase the hard drive)?

    Thank you

    Hello

It seems that the picture of the fan was changed and renewed in the new version of BIOS, and so fans run fall.
Why the table fan has been changed?

Well, usually something like this is necessary to improve the reduction of the internal temperature while the CPU and GPU are running with maximum performance.
This helps to prevent the equipment from damage!

    > would like to "Uninstall" the update of the BIOS if possible. I found this link that explains the running restore CD. If I run this CD, which will certainly restore the BIOS to the previous version?
    > Is there a less destructive way (ie: that does not erase the hard drive)?

Usually, the recovery CD formats the whole HARD drive (partitions too) and installs only the image of Toshiba on the notebooks of HARD drive. The image contains the OS, drivers and additional software and has nothing to do with the BIOS update.
But you can try to recover the laptop to see if you can solve the problems of software!

If you want to reverse the BIOS, you will need to contact the ASP in your country!

Sorry, but all I can suggest.

  • Problems after updating the BIOS on Satellite Pro P200

I recently buy a Satellite Pro P200 running Windows Vista Business. Yesterday, I updated the BIOS to the version 1.50 supplied with the machine to 1.80 available on the Toshiba site. I double checked that I was using BIOS correct update for the Pro P200 Satellitel running Vista.

After updating the BIOS, I have now two problems:

    1. whenever I start and join the office, I get an error message "record of Vista has stopped working". This problem has been identified as toshibavistaregistration.exe here: [link: http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=99805]

2 Control Panel > system now shows the processor and the memory (RAM) as "not available". Execution of the diagnostic PC Toshoba tool and looking at basic information show also no information on the memory (RAM) Although the processor information here. There may be pieces others missing too under the eyes of list shorter than before the update of the BIOS.

Basically, I want to get everything working again as it should, but cannot find any information on these issues.

After further review, it appears that the update of the BIOS is not the cause of the problems.

Immediately after updating the BIOS, I had a major system crash. It turns out that this is what has caused problems.

After a system restore to a point before the update of the BIOS and the major system crash, now everything is working again with BIOS version 1.8 in place.

  • Impossible to find all the drivers XP for Satellite Pro P200-15W

    Hello everyone.

I just installed XP Professional and now I have problems with some drivers. The laptop is a Satellite Pro P200 15W and the drivers are:

Graphics card (specification says that it is an Ati Mobility Radeon HD2600, and I have not found the pilot)
Wireless card (both pilots in the toshiba download page don't work)
Audio device on Bus Audio High Definition (I installed the audio driver, but after that, appears this 'new' device)

In addition, it appears an unknown device and I have no idea on what it can be

I searched many forums and pages, and everything I've tried has failed.

    Can someone help me?

    Best regards and thank you

Wait a minute of traditional knowledge. You confused me completely. All the drivers, tools and utilities are available on the download page of Toshiba under http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp

Sorry, but I must ask you something: what exactly is your problem? As you can see he is also classified document called Instructions of facilities. All you need to do is install it using the order of good facilities. Have you ever done this?

BTW: Have you installed WXP including SP2?

  • Satellite Pro P200 - 1KE Vista loses contact with the second internal HARD drive

Vista Business SP2. I have a Satellite Pro P200-1KE, with two 160 GB drives: a Hitachi configured as C: (operating system, programs, etc.) and E: (data, other programs). The second is a Toshiba MK1637GSX. This little about it and nothing of any importance and is normally configured as d. Unfortunately this hard drive has now become invisible to Vista, although it is still recognized by BIOS and Device Manager. In managing computer does not appear in the list in the upper pane, it comes without a letter from reader below. I have tried everything I know to get recognized, including the following:
    (In no particular order):

    * Remove computer - managed, reset as a single Volume: it always fails
    * Reformat to NTFS using Linux GParted or utility disk Linux (via a USB stick with Linux ice Peppermint on that nerd), sometimes combined with the restoration of the system - it works, but only for a single session. She always disappears again when you restart
    * Remove the driver from Device Manager and pointing plug-and-play with Windows System 32 and Windows Update - which seems to return the driver - but does not recognized disk, unfortunately
    * Meanwhile, throughout all this, Vista insists on finding a driver for "unknown device" that she sometimes found and (allegedly) installs and sometimes find one fails to install.

    Bah!

Anyone know anything else I can try - preferably without having to reinstall the entire operating system, or run the risk of using Toshiba Hardware Setup that does not seem to come with all the instructions and enigmatic, who wonder if I want to delete stuff 'selected', without showing me what kind of things I am alleged to have selected for removal!

    Best
    David

If this second HDD is not so important to try to start the original installation disk Microsoft (Vista or Win7) to see if the second HDD will be recognized for the installation procedure.
You can also try to install Win7 on this second HDD to see if the installation is correctly finalized. Later, you can check if you can start the second HARD drive preinstalled OS.

Test just to see if this problem is related to Vista only.

  • Satellite Pro P200: Change the size of partition in Vista?

Is it possible to adjust the size of the partition after installing?

I have a Satellite Pro P200 with a shared about HARD disk:

C: Vista partiton - 17 GB of free to 56 GB
E: partition of data of-54 GB of free to 55 GB

I know that the data reader is used by Vista to contain information of recovery.

However, I would like to know if its possible to reallocate some of its spare production capacity at the Vista drive without compromising the recovery feature?

Of course, you can change the size of the partitions after Vista installation.

You can change this in the Vista Disk Manager s

Here, you could choose the existing partition, and then you could reduce the amount of partitions. This free volume can be added to another partition, or you can create another partition.
