Burn a DVD to Satellite C660

Exactly how burn you a DVD in the laptop? I have a Toshiba Satellite C660.
When I put the DVD in the drive and click on Windows Media Player, there's nothing to click on "burn".

    Hello

If you use an operating system preinstalled Toshiba then the Sonic Record Now! Basic application must be installed on the laptop.
This software is capable of burning CDs and DVDS.

But maybe you want to use another application of part 3? Been to Nero?
This is a very nice program, and it allows you to burn different types of media.
For example it allows you to burn and create video or audio CDs.

    It s my favorite.

You can create DVDs from recovery use preinstalled Toshiba recovery media creator. Please test using DVD-R media.

Have you tried using different media of high quality as TDK or Verbatim?

Sorry, but this startup message said nothing to me. I've never seen something like this, even if I created several on several laptops Toshiba recovery disks.

I spend a few hours in an attempt to create the floppies of recovery for my laptop (Satellite C660 - 1 DG)

It fails on the second DVD at halfway. It just hangs. CTRL-ALT-DEL is no longer a cold start will have to start the thing.

I tried several DVD but NOGO each time to halfway the second DVD, it crashes.

I really need to create these recovery DVDs because Im going to upgrade the laptop to run a Windows Server 2012 install for development purposes.

I thought that it would take only a minimum of time, but... of course...

To create recovery DVDs, I highly recommend to use DVD-R virgins only. Of course, it must be high quality as TDK or Verbatim product.

  • Not possible to burn a DVD on the Satellite A100-338 using Windows DVD Maker

I have a Toshiba Satellite A100. I'm trying to burn a DVD using Microsoft Windows DVD Maker and a Sony DVD - RW. The laptop has a carpet * a DVD-RAM UJ-850 s ATA device.

When I try to burn a DVD, a progress bar appears and is about 2% before the hanging.

I also tried to format the DVD first, and which is progressing well before coming up with an error message saying that the drive could not be formatted.

Anyone got any ideas? Am I missing something completely obvious?

    Hello

the following things could probably help you with your problem:

-> control if a new BIOS for your machine and a new FIRMWARE update for your DVD player are available. Update the BIOS and the player firnware
-> use another applications burning like Nero, CDBurnerXP or other thing that is usually know work well with almost all DVD - RW readers out there
-> use a DIFFERENT brands of DVD media because the carpet * a readers are really picky

If all these steps fail, then it is possible that your drive is defective and must be replaced.

    See you soon

  • Satellite C660 - 11K DVD drive does not

I was just become acquainted with my new laptop Satellite C660 - 11K that I bought for Christmas and came to try playing a DVD for the first time tonight.

The first one I tried was a business produced in format DVD RW DVD. When I inserted in the DVD player, I got a "Windows Media Player has encountered a problem during playback of the file" error message. Following the troubleshooting guide to check my sound, video settings and game controllers do not solve the problem.

I then tried a purchased movie DVD (DVD-video format) and received the same error message.

Finally, I have inserted an audio CD purchased and tried to play it through Windows Media Player and iTunes, but could not play all titles. The Gracenote software did, however, identify the CD and track names.

By Device Manager, I found that my DVD drive is a TSSTcorp CDDVDW TS-L633C and that it is enabled, the value of region 2 DVD and it has drivers up to date.

Am I missing something stupid that prevents me to get my DVD player to work, or do I have a defective DVD player?

Any help or ideas greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Hi mate

Perhaps you need a firmware update for the CD/DVD drive.
    I found this Toshiba document:

+ ODD Firmware Update to fix problems with audio sound distortion on playback of the CD in Windows 7 +.

Please check and if necessary, update the firmware!

  • Re: Satellite C660 - code 19 CD/DVD drive error

My Satellite C660 CD/DVD ROM drive does not read the CD. When checking my device manager, there is an identified problem:
"Windows cannot start this hardware device because its information of configuration (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19) ».

How can I go about repairing this anomaly?

    Hey,.

It is a known issue and there are already several discussions here in the forum about error code 19 Device Manager. Toshiba has published an FAQ about this article:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/FAQ82023A0000R01.htm

To get rid of this, you must remove the server - and lowerfilters in the Windows registry:

    1.demarrez > run > Regedit
    2. navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
    3. in the right pane, delete the "UpperFilters" key and delete the key "LowerFilters".
    4.reboot.

  • Satellite P100-429: how to burn on DVD?

Got a Satellite P100 429 he will write DVDs? He says, but I can't seem to do it (without recorder) is all I get.
If it can HOW? (driving me crazy)

    Hello

I imagine that you replace didn t drive of the laptop.
Many laptops come with a different hardware configuration. This means that as different readers might be installed in the laptop. But if you bought the laptop with the DVD burner I see not why the reader should not burn the DVD.

What burning software do you use? I use Nero. It's great and easy to use.
I advise to use it for burning media. It supports CDs and DVDs

  • Satellite M30X: Burning data DVD from HDD

I have a Satellite M30x and have recently tried to burn a DVD to free up space on a HARD drive crowded with data.

Windows cannot perform this task, and unfortunately Toshiba have not provided/installed software do it either.

Nero burning rom, which was provided only seems capable of burning CDs and even then, it continuously saves files without actually burning them!

    Help!

    Hello

As far as I know that your unit should have super-multi drive which allows you to record all formats. If the unit is pre-installed with recovery media, you will find an application called Record Now! You can use it to burn data but Nero is very good application and there should not be any problem.

Before you want to choose the data and start the process of engraving you select on which media data should be burn (CD or DVD). Under Option more check if the option write is enabled. I hope that option that simulation is disabled.

    What M30x-xxx you have exactly?

  • Satellite P20: Device DVD Player reads only the DVD but cannot burn CD & DVD

    Hello

I have a toshiba P20, and I'm having a lot of problems with it. One of them is my DVD UJ811. I don't really know what is happening, the drive was already replaced and a few weeks later, it was exactly like the front, and the service provider made me pay almost 70EUR for a budget of 400EUR rejected.

I would like to know what really should do, I can't read the CD and I can not burn CD/DVDs, I can just read DVDs, nothing else.

I have seen some forums on the net, too many people in the world has the same problem I have and I really need to know what is the best solution for me.
    Thank you

    Hello Rafael

I'm very surprised by your post it here because I've used Satellite P20-303 (a red) about two years. Laptop is now used by my brother and it works perfectly. I don't really know what problems you have, but I never noticed anything suspicious. Up to now I removed the cooling Grill on the bottom twice to clean the unit, and that's all. After that laptop computer cleanup runs a lot more quiet then before.

Back to ad: I have to be honest and say that I traded with TEAC DV - W22E DVD - rom. original drive was DVD - RW and TEAC DV-W22E DVD-RAM. My brother use it pretty extensively, but until now there is no problem at all.

I don't really know what the service is doing, but if possible replace the drive TEAC one. I can tell you with certainty, it works very well. Moreover, according to the description of your problem, I am sure that the drive is faulty.
You can replace one. It's very simple to do.
