  • How can I burn a DVD using the latest iMovie?

I'm used to be able to export my iMovie as files DV videos.  I want to retain the original quality without compression.   This is no longer the case with the new iMovie app.  The only choice now is to 'Share' and the same year, when sharing, I always get a message of failure on the part.  I watched the video recorded in my iMovie file and saw that it was only the edited video.  Everything stops, I added was not in the video, but they were in the folder as separate items.  I used to be able to just drop the video filled in iDVD and let this app the rest.  What is the best method to use?  My iDVD crashes now.  Y at - it an application to burn DVDs either free or at a reasonable price?  It's urgent!  I have a project planned for delivery in a few days!

To burn a DVD with the latest version of iMovie's iDVD, you must export the movie using the export button and select 480 p as the size. Open iDVD and start a new project, and then drag this file in the sequence exported to iDVD menu window, avoiding the drop areas that see you.

Once you add files, you can burn your DVD with a single click, or, if you prefer, you can choose from several styles of menu and the slide show options to make your special DVD before you burn, or customize your DVD menus and write the DVD menu text yourself.

  • I am trying to burn a dvd folder in again, on a dvd on another mac equipped with a dvd burner...

I am trying to burn a dvd folder in again, on a dvd, on another mac equipped with a dvd burner...

Picture quality and sound well when reading. but the picture is not complete SD widescreen. It has back up and down.

    Can someone advise?

What is the best way to burn? data? film?

    Thanks Rod

    Hi Rod,

First things first - was your first widescreen sequence? How did you create assets for the DVD? Recommended method is to export from first as 'MPEG-2 DVD' and choose a suitable preset, such as "NTSC DV Widescreen". When that is imported into, there must be big screen automatically. Looks like maybe the DVD that you created is 4:3.

Regarding the engraving, it is better to export an IMAGE of a reminder, that create a standard .iso (disk image) file that can be burned with any number of third-party programs. I don't know what's available for Mac, there are free applications for PC such as Burn Aware.

If you use the method of the "record" for some reason, do NOT burn as the 'data' - which will not be a good DVD that will play in set-top DVD players. Result will work on computers. Burning software should have an option to 'DVD Video' and who will properly format it to burn a DVD with appropriate specifications. The .iso method is preferred, because it doesn't work, no games.

Where do you watch the DVD it shows black bars, what reading device?

    Thank you

  • Burn a DVD in ss14

I recently upgraded from PE10 PE 14. PE10 I could burn a DVD disc directly from the program. Now with ss14, he does not see the burner and I burn 1 on an iso image to the computer and then THAT burn the disk using Windows. Can someone explain this, or tell my how to change the settings so that it will burn my DVD directly from PE disc? Thank you.

    Rajrae

    Thank you through the suggestions.

You should not lose your first Elements project files if you perform uninstallation (kind of control panel), free ccleaner Cross (regular and register cleaner parts), then reinstall with antivirus and firewall disabled.

    CCleaner - download

It's only free product that I'm pointing to. The free ccleaner must not remove project files. See the details of his web site to what you remove. I used the product with its default settings and had only benefits and without the date horror stories I deemed it necessary to use it.

But it's your decision. You have a burner of alternatives that you could use for comparison of troubleshooting before making your decision. I'm not guarantee than this uninstall / free ccleaner/reinstall will work to restore recognition of the burner in the dialog box burn. But the probability is high, it will.

The major way to spoil your project files if you move, delete or rename all the files that have been imported into the project once the project has been saved, closed. When you import media throughout the project, you get are copies of the originals who remain hard saving location on the drive. But copies of the project must go back to the original where they were when you first import into the project.

We will be watching for further developments.

    Best wishes

  • Now that my full FCP project, I burned a dvd and everything is fine but I want to download the .mov on YouTube, but cannot determine WHICH of the largest number is the one to download.  Too many files are named "Untitled" and I can't find a post of .mov

Now that my project from FCP 5 minutes video clip is over, even if I am a complete and total novice to the iMac, I nevertheless managed burned a DVD via the file > share the menu option and everything went well, but now I want to download the .mov on YouTube, but is unable to determine to WHICH many files created in this project is the one to download!  It seems that many files are named "Untitled" and I do not seem to know how to find ONE with a .mov extension.

At the top left of my screen of the FCP is the list of "Libraries" that after that I developed all the arrows to point down looks like this:

    Libraries

    Untitled

    Smart collections

    30/06/16

    Age of television

If you haven't guessed, the name of my project is "T.V. Age" and I expected to find somewhere on the computer, a file named, 'T.V. Age.mov' or somethjng like that for me to download on YouTube, but I can't find THE .mov files.  Maybe I don't know how to market the Finder option to display filenames WITH extensions?

I'm hoping that someone with enough time on their hands and understanding in their hearts will take the time to help me locate the .mov that as well as help me correctly name this library Untitled in the zone without good libraries course disrupt the integrity of the completed video-music that is always open on the timeline, even if I don't there anymore since my work with her is over , but the only "CLOSE button" I see is 'close library Untitled' button on the file menu.  I don't see even its end (the *) project button!  The only way I see how close my project is to close the program, but I doubt if it's true.  Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Tony

If you did burn a DVD, then you did burn a DVD, you export any file can be used.  Share > main folder > Audio + video and download that ProRes file resulting.  Or use the built-in YouTube option to upload directly to YouTube.

You don't "close" anything in the part of the timeline, it is useless.  You would simply open a new project or other media type of container, in the part of the timeline.

  • To burn a DVD

I used to burn a DVD from an iPHOTO slide show to play on a DVD burner for display on a TV (PAL-system)

If you want to burn the slide show on a DVD, create photo for Mac it and then use the command export to save as a video file.

If you want to play the DVD in a DVD player, you need software, iDVD, Burn, creation or even burn the video to DVD. Otherwise, you can only burn a data DVD.

  • Burning a DVD of the film in iMovie

    Hi all

I'm running El Capitan on an iMac (2012) older which has iDvd but I can't use it.

Basically I have a home video 15-minute clips of friends wishing someone good luck.  It was filed in iMovie and said its 12 GB.

I want to burn onto a dvd but my dvd all say that the file is too big.  I can't believe a 15-minute short clips home video, from people saying 'Hi' is too big to burn.

    Can anyone help?

    Hi, Windym,

iDVD is a design program that allows you to record a video of two hours on a standard DVD.   Two hours is about 26 GB, that iDVD will compress to 4.7 GB to fit on a standard DVD.  Your 15-minute project will easily adapt.  It is best to have at least 20 GB of space free on your startup disk disk so that the application can work correctly.

Can you describe the procedure and the applications you use, and the error messages you get?  You really want to use iDVD or maybe you burn a DVD, data that are much more limited in size, that you can burn?

  • How can I burn on dvd iMovie projects?

I've mastered the art of making videos using iMovie, but I can't understand how the engraved on a dvd that will play in any dvd player.  I tried to do some research to understand this point, but most of the answers I've found are for two years.  I need a current response to help me.  It seems that iDVD is the way to go, but it is not offered and more.  I've tried different converters video will no chance.  Once I got one to work and burned on dvd, but then it wouldn't play on anything other than my Macbook.  Please help me!  I just made a video birthday for my son who just turned one, and I need it to be on dvd.  Can someone help me?

    Buy iDVD.

Yes, there are other programs that will put a movie on a DVD.   I tried most of the other substitutes.  None of them come anywhere close to the ease of use and power of iDVD. IDVD is specifically designed to work with iMovie.

With iDVD, you can easily and quickly create DVDs with menus and graphics almost on the level of what Hollywood can do.

IDVD is easy to obtain. It is available on the disc as part of iLife 11.  You can, but it on Amazon or ebay.

IDVD is a wonderful piece of software, and is worth the modest sum of $40.  (works with all Mac OS 10.5 and newer.)

Sometimes to replace the image of the menu with a version resized, smaller (height 480) solves this problem.

  • Satellite C655 - easiest way to burn a DVD

    Hello
I've never had a laptop before. Also new to windows 7. Try to find the easiest way to burn a DVD from another DVD on this new laptop computer. I know I put the info from the DVD on the laptop. And then burn it to a blank DVD. I can put the DVD in the drive. It's a great start! I'm looking for the easiest way to "rip" and burn. Even if you need to download burning software (I hope it's free).

On my desktop CD burner, it was quite easy to burn to a CD to another CD. 2 trays and software to burn. I know that it is more complex. I'm a little computer in question, btw. Thanks :)

    Hi lili60,

Most of the DVDs and CDs you can buy is copy protected so I doubt you will be able to copy them. Usually, you can copy only the records of friends private photos, music, etc. but regular discs are protected against copying.

To burn discs, you can use the freeware CD Burner XP tool. This s really nice tool that provide all the functions necessary to burn discs. You can download the tool here:
    http://CDBurnerXP.se/

On the same page you can also find assistance online, how the program works.

If you have any other questions, please let us know! :)
