You may need to uncheck 'Hide known file types' in Control Panel / folder Options / view to see the file extension.  The .iso image file is normally not explored but is used by a third-party program such as Nero or Roxio to burn a CD.

There are some free programs that should allow you to explore the Image (.iso) file.

I'm burning my copy of the image ISO of the download of MS windows 10 earlier today.  I stored the files windows 10 initially on USB.  then I used the tool to create a dvd disc for installation later on my HP 15 currently running windows 8.1.  I have no reason to upgrade now on my HP machine because I finally got past this huge problem I had with the update of security very great for 8.1 - or at least for the moment I have.  But I think that I need the image Iso to recover my Dell Inspiron 14 crashed, which has windows 7 Home premium and a pretty big OS problem that I have any solution online, I can find with no real possibility to recover.  I managed to start in safe mode, but there are nomore rstor oingts and checking disk Startup Repair is unable to complete or correct the errors.  That's why I put it through a factory restore/reset and I sat it here now in the living room, on the screen of advanced recovery and I thought that the next step is to change windows 10 and use the image recorder to make the ISO boot dell image and install the windows 10.  But now my HP with 8.1 gives me an error message saying: he can't burn the image to the blank DVD R I put in to burn the image on.  the error code is Ox8007045d.  I have two questions... first how to solve this error and the second will be this plan I have to get my other computer running work?

  • T500 hard Firmware 3.1 - cannot boot from burned ISO CD

I am trying to burn and run iso from the following location:

    http://www-307.IBM.com/PC/support/site.WSS/document.do?sitestyle=Lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-63685

When I download and burn an ISO (no, not to burn by treating it as an ISO data file) I see all the files on the CD when I preview the it.  If I pull out I can return it and see there are titles on the CD however.

When I boot on the CD after removing my hard drive password I don't see is a blinking underscore _ cursor in the upper left corner of the screen and it's right there, no matter how long wait.  To tell the truth, that I was never able to boot the disk hard iso firmware provided by Lenovo, this is why I would like to especially since it works.

Assuming that you burn the image properly, which, I believe that you do as you can see not all the files on the disc, thought occurred to me that it might be something to do with burning engine.

Please take a look at this thread, the problem seems to be very similar, and I hope that the solution will be the same.

  • How to burn an ISO (which is a bootable CD/DVD) to a USB port?

How to burn an ISO (which is a bootable CD/DVD) to a USB port?

I usually burn ISO files bootable CD or DVD with NERO6, 7.   Now, I would like to burn on a USB key.

Ideas on a good and stable program?

    I. - Download the software that makes bootable USB drives the ISO. WinToFlash http://www.bing.com/search?q=+WinToFlash+&form=HPDTDF&pc=HPDTDF&src=IE-SearchBox> and Unetbootin http://www.bing.com/search?q=UNetbootin&form=HPDTDF&pc=HPDTDF&src=IE-SearchBox> are the two options included in the section resources. The software will automatically convert iso files on a USB drive and make it bootable.

II. - open and install your chosen software. The software will be an installation clicks where pressing a couple of times then you have ready to go.

III. - Plug the USB and check what drive it is listed as in 'my computer '.

IV. - Launch your chosen software and specify paths. There will be two sections to choose from. Look for the converted ISO file in the download or the source article. For the second section, select the path or the destination (USB key) is transferred to ISO.

    V. - click 'Next' and let the program create a USB bootable ISO file. It may take some time depending on the size of the ISO file. When the process is finished, you have a bootable USB key with your ISO file.

  • DVD - R can only burn with DirectCD - Roxio, Ultra ISO recognize CDburning only - why?

Added a Lite-on DVD - RW DH20A4P model (last year) to archive the files from my old system.  Old system: Mobo is FIC AD - 11w / Athlon XP 1800 (NOT overclocked, running 1.67 Ghz) 768 MB mem, 3 disks hard w/640 GB of storage, Win XP home.  House built in 2001, updated 6 times.  As much as I know can I stay completely up-to-date.

DVD only burn if formatted in DirectCD, and can add files to burn (rather clumsy, loses 600 MB + ability to format).  Ultra acknowledged the capacity DVD-burn ISO or Roxio 5.  Tried a few free programs, same result.  Tried stripping up to only 2 drives (C and DVD - no luck).  In addition, "my computer shows the DVD - RAM H drive and CD J drive, however there is no other CD player.  Capacity DVD opens and burner programs Raphael CD without problem but abort engraving showing "no dvd drive found" or words to that effect.

What keeps programs to recognize the DVD burner?  They all read capacity but can not burn a file assembled on it.  What could cause this?

    Hey Newton,

I suggest that you run the next Fixit tool and see if it helps.

  • Trouble trying to burn an ISO to 14 items

I have completed and successfully burned a project to a DVD and have just completed the second and am ready to burn an iso image project. I did a preliminary burn successfully two days ago to identify areas that needed changes or improvement. It was finished and I tried to burn an iso image again without success. I used the same settings, for example an AVCHD with content adapted to the available space is TICKING box as I did several days ago, but this time the pop-up "Indexing" happens which suggests the process has started, but nothing happens. I checked my memory, disk space, I restarted the application, and then the computer, but it is still on the screen of indexing with what seems to be no activity e.g. no change to the progress bar, and no sound from the computer to indicate that it is actively working.

Can advise you as to what could be stopping the generation of the image to begin.

See you soon... AndyScreen Shot 2016-01-15 at 2.25.56 PM.png

I would remove all new project and go back to the old, make the changes and burn ISO.

On a side note, I know that the size of the iso is not issue to the problem that you are experiencing right now. Its rather a problem of image quality.

  • Reader SuperDrive does not burn after upgrade of el capitan

Almost immediately after upgrading a mac mini end of 2014 to el capitan (10.11.2), the superdrive has lost his ability to write DVD. It is recognized by the system and can read DVDs fine, but any attempt to burn files or an ISO image on a disc breaks down.

The superdrive even happily burn on the same media on other macs in Yosemite (I checked several times), but he stubbornly refuses to do it on el capitan. The same mac mini was happily burn DVDs on the same media with the same superdrive on Yosemite, just before the upgrade to 10.11.2.

Now, with el capitan, attempts to burn ISO images fail with the message:

"Error burn image to disc: the disc can't be burned; It might be incompatible with this disc drive. Please, try a different brand of disc, or try burning at a slower speed. »

Burn files fail with the message:

"The disc can't be burned because the device failed to calibrate the power level of laser for this media."

Any ideas on how to solve this problem would be appreciated.

  • How to extract the ISO image to CD?

I would like to know any tool in Windows XP to extract the ISO image to CD.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions

I would like to know any tool in Windows XP to extract the ISO image to CD.

I think you're probably asking to write the contents of an ISO image to a CD. If this is the case, you will need to use a burning CD/DVD software to do the job. Windows XP has no native support for burning ISO images.

Nero, Roxio - these programs are well known actors in this area, but they come with a price tag. If you have these programs already installed in the computer, you can simply search the help content within these software to find out how to burn ISO images to use.

But, if you don't have this software, you can download ISO free burning programs to do the job. Search online for free ISO burning software and you'll get a ton of these programs.

This is a good program to burn ISO images:
