  Yes you can use substitution variables, as calc scripts use the ampersand & and name of the variable, for example & CurrYr

  I don't know what you mean by the second question, if you make changes to the business rules in the environmental assessments, so that all you have to do, planning of calls is the same repository for information of business rule.

• "Cascading" business rules composite form of Tabs

  Long post. I'm here for the ACEs in the stem. In 11.1.2.2.300, we have a composite form with multiple shapes in the form of tabs. Two of these forms have business rules that run on individual forms, not on the Composite shape. Three of these forms have no business rules that run when recording. The following behavior is:

  1. when we open the composite shape to a tab of a form without top business rules and click on save, the data is committed.

  2. when we opened the composite shape to a tab of a form that has a business rule that works on record and click on save, the data are engaged and the business rule is executed.

  3. the problem is there: when we open the composite shape to a tab of a form that has a company that rule runs on save and then we open a DIFFERENT tab with a DIFFERENT shape which has NO business rule to this subject, and click on save the data on the open tab/form is committed and the business rule goes against the members on the OPEN form. Not the form that made the business rule to this topic.

  4. If, after step three, you open a different form that also has a top business rule and press on save, it runs both the business rule in the open form, AND the business rule of form before.

  Is this a bug? For?

  For those of you more visually inclined:

  Form/tab A - form by default upon opening, without BR

  Form/tab B - BR

  Form/tab C - no BR

  Form/tab D - BR

  Form/tab E - BR

  1. open Data Composite of form - see form A. press on save - committed to the database.

  2. click on the tab B. press on save. Data committed to the database. B rule business runs.

  3. click on the tab C. press save. Data committed to the database. Company B of the rule is running on members on form C.

  4. click on tab D. press save. Data committed to the database. Company B of the rule is running on members of business of d. form rule, D runs.

  5. click on the tab E. press save. Data committed to the database. Company B of the rule is running on members of the form E. company rule D works on members of the form E.

  NOW the weird part!

  1. open the composite shape - see formula.

  2. click on tab D.

  3. click on the tab B. press on save. Data committed to the database. Business rule B runs first on the members on the form B. business rule D then runs on Member on form B.

  Our first theory was that because BR B came first in alphabetical order in the calc Manager, B pulled before. We have this disproved by renaming and changing the order of B and D in calc Manager. BR B always run before D. BR our second theory was that the business rules are executed based on the order in which they appear in the tabs. But we have refuted this as well. We concluded that the order of business rules is in order that their "links" exist in the rules on the Composite shape. Help!

  Tried this on our system and we have same question... It looks like another bug in EMP 11.1.2.3... SR trigger with the support of the oracle, they could fix it in future versions...

• Business rule to launch using the command line

  I tried lauching business rule by using the command line utility CalcMgrCmdLineLauncher.cmd. The syntax I used is \Planning\planning1 > CalcMgrCmdLineLauncher.cmd A:Samp U:admin D:PL /R:AGGR F:Agg.xml. I get the following error when executing the command-
  
  FATAL error: Cannot run getRTPs(). Cannot find the rule AGGR deployed in the type of plan PL in the repository
  com hyperion.calcmgr.common.CalcMgrODLLogger logServereMsg
  
  I selected the correct application of planning in the locations tab and assigned administrator privileges on the tab of the business rule access privileges. I followed all the instructions in the link - http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17236_01/epm.1112/hp_admin/frameset.htm?ch06s09s05.html to run BR by command line.
  
  Please let me know the reason for this error...

  No, you can use the CmdLnLauncher utility located in the installation of Regional service directory, it will be under eas\console\bin

  You can use prompt to hide in the properties of the business rule (when you add the rule of the form). See if it works, otherwise you will have to hide it in the Calc Manager itself.

  I have two variabels substitution essbase. I've used them in my data forms. But when I write a business rule in essbase that I don't get to use these substitution variables. I want to say... a business rul never uses a substitution variable? If so, how can I use them? Any idea? I use v 11.1.1.1.

  There is no option for get about it. Just type in your rule

  for example:

• Member of form data to a business rule

  I have a problem with a data form. I have 3 real columns, Budget, estimate on this form and users can enter data in the scenario of the estimate. Since I have many scenarios to estimate I use a variable user planning. The business rule that is associated with this form has a variable RTP for the scenario, but with the user as a column variable, I can't hide the RTP.
  Is it possible to change the value of the user variable to my business without prompt rule?
  Any other suggestions?

  Are you sure ran at all business rule? There is an extra business composite formatting rule where you have to activate the business rule, have you checked this setting?
  As to hide the form, try masking of rows and columns of the form.

• Business rule running for the single member of the entity Dimension

  Hi all

  I'm developing an application of classical planning using Hyperoin 11.1.2.2

  I came across a scenario where a specific business rule is executed when the data are recorded on a specific data form. (IE run save the data form item)

  Currently, this rule executes all Member of the entity Dimension.

  Is it possible that this rule is run only for one member of the entity (that is currently selected in the Section Page of this form of data)

  Please note: I don't want to use run the guests of time i.e. I don't want my user to explicitly specify which Member of the entity in the RPT. In our its obvious business logic this business rule is only required to run for the member selected in the entity Dimension

  You must create a Variable of RTP of the type member, when you associate this rule save this form of data, select the option use members on forms of data and hide guests in this way you don't get the window prompt and BR will perform for a specific entity.

• Using the values of the A-T-D in Business Rules

  I use Hyperion Planning 11.1.1.1.0.
  I activated series dynamic time A-T-D in the application.
  
  I need calculate the % of variance for a YEAR, the formula to use is:
  
  (A-T-J (Oct) Budget - Y-T-D (Oct) real) / A-T-D Budget (Oct) * 100.
  
  I have a business (created in environmental assessments) rule makes the difference to other calculations % who are quite simple as Budget actual/Budget * 100.
  
  The formuls for normal variance percentage works, but I get an error when you write a formula for:
  
  "% Of variance (YTDActual & YTDBudget).
  ('% Of the variance (YTDActual & YTDBudget) '=' Y-T-D(&CurrentMonth)'-> Budget - "Y-T-D(&CurrentMonth)'-> actual / 'Y-T-D(&CurrentMonth)'-> Budget * 100 ;))
  
  
  The error that appears is the following:
  
  Details: cannot calculate. Error (1200497) analytical server: compilation error formula [% of Variance (YTDActual & YTDBudget)] (line 2): name of the unknown member function [operator @X] ['Y-T-D(&CurrentMonth)"]
  
  
  Can someone please advice such as using Y-T-D values in formulas?

  Here are some tips that can help:

  (1) you cannot directly reference Dynamics-Series extended members in good standing of business or a member formula. This is "virtual" members It is a common misconception.
  (2) even if you can reference these members in a formula, you could not store a value in them anyway, because they are dynamic.
  (3) he does usually not much sense to calculate the differences like these in a business rule. I would recommend making the formulas of dynamic members, re-encoding (not business rules) in the dimension of your scenario. They do not need to be "Two pass" in the strict sense (eg. recalculate a ratio for housing), but they need to shoot well, so set them as two passes. (otherwise you will end up with the order of calculation questions where you get incorrect results and other calculations fire after the variance).

  Looking at your condition, you don't really need a variance that calls members dynamic time series. Simply create a scenario of variance with a formula such as @VARPER ("Budget", "Actual");. If you have "Y-T-D (Oct)", chosen as your period of time in your form or datasheet calculation and 'Bud vs law %' (this is your new scenario of variance) selected, it calculates the variance of the CDA for October, or no matter what time you have selected.

  Just a reminder:

  (1) create a new scenario, called "Bud against law %". Make dynamic and re-encoding. Give him a formula of @VARPER ("Budget", "Actual");
  (2) scrap your business rule. Add other scenarios of variance if necessary.
  (3) add your CDA member and your scenario of variance to a form and test.

• Calculate form data - business rule

  I'm a bit confused on how the default business rule 'Calculate the data form' which is available when we create a new form of data.
  
  By operating, calculate cube it worldwide as it works as - CALC ALL?; Or it calculates just the specific shape dimensions/members. I always thought that it is a specific calculation for the data form - which considers the selection that we have in our POV, the Page and the lines and columns, and does not calculate all of the cube. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
  
  If anyone has some resourse which has more on this, please share the link or information. It will be a great help.

  I've been able to use EXCLUDE successfully in calc scripts, but not in business rules. When I copy the Calc Script code containing an EXCLUSION (see below) to a business rule, I get the following error:

  When I remove EXCLUDE it, it works. I hate having to chop my Calc in order to bring them into the rules of the company, but this seems the only alternative. We use Essbase version 9.3.1.   @LIST is just a way to create a game of a series of individually selected members who do not have a hierarchical relationship of members. You can use it in a large number of functions.

  The game to the right of the decimal point in the @REMOVE must be a member - member set can be a function, say @CHILDREN or so cherry picked, @LIST.

  I still consider @REMOVE as a superset and together, including the value of superset.

  So for your code, I think it would be something like:
  Fix (@Remove (@LIST, @descendants (MemberName) (mn1, mn2, mn3, mn4, etc..)))

  I think that the combination of @DESCENDANTS and @REMOVE behave as EXCLUDE.

  By the way, I try to make these corrections on the members of level 0 and then roll as it affects fewer blocks of data and then roll up the numbers. It is almost always more rapid, but may not work for you.
