  • Where is the button "internet radio"? (Windows Media Player)

I used to listen to internet radio with Windows Media Player, which was done using the "Media Guide" button and then clicking on 'internet radio '. I've been away for awhile, and when I came back, the entire page of the "Media Guide" is changed to try to make me sign up for the Microsoft Groove. The 'internet radio' button is not found.

Is there a way I can go back to the page "internet radio"?

The servers for this service disappeared.  If you don't like Groove, you can use another service such as Spotify or for a closer experience on the Radio real, a program like iHeartRadio, which allows you to listen to actual radios.

The dialog box that you quoted says "Project file" in Windows Live Movie Maker
It would be a file with an extension WLMP. Or if the file was created with
an earlier version of Movie Maker, it can have an extension .mswmm.

So... just to clarify... MP4 extension or WLMP or something else?

If the files are MP4, you will need to convert them to WMV format before
    import into Movie Maker.

There are many programs that can do conversions...
The following freeware is an example...:

(FWIW... it's always a good idea to create a system)
Restore point before installing software or updates)

    Format Factory
    http://www.pcfreetime.com/
(the file you want to download is: > FFSetup250.zip
(FWIW... installation..., you might want to
Uncheck all of the boxes on the last screen)

First... after the download and installation of Format
Factory... you can open the program and
left click on the toolbar, the "Option" button and
"Select an output folder to" / apply / OK.
(this is where you find your files after they)
    are converted)

Drag and drop your video clips on the main screen...

Select "all to WMV" / OK...

Click on... Beginning... in the toolbar...

    That should do it...

    Hi cuibusel,

I put t know why this happens but the fact is that these buttons work only with Windows Media Player and not with other players such as WinAMP, etc..

If you have several problems with them, I recommend to install the package of added value of the official website of Toshiba.

  • Windows Media Player went?

I have an older HP laptop that has a slot for the DVD.  All of a sudden it stopped working. Is it true that MS no longer includes a multimedia player in their products? Why is stopped, if true?

No, this is not true.  What Microsoft has abandoned in Win10 was their Media Center, not the media player.

However, many of us use VideLAN player because it has many more options than Windows Media Player: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/index.html

  • Question on the Windows Media Player privacy setting

I've been using Windows media player for almost a decade, like many other people, but I never really paid attention to all those defining what affects privacy in WMP.  Now, I have a few questions about these privacy setting.

I read in the windows Help article, if I check on "update my music files by retrieving the news media of the internet " in the Privacy tab on the Options in Windows Media Player dialog box, it is said that ' indicates if the player will automatically obtain and update missing media information for music files in your library. If the information is available. If this check box is selected, the Player tries to update any missing media information in the files by sending data about them to a database of Windows Media. "

Here is a link to the page that explains more about the configuration of the protection of personal information in WMP11.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/products/Windows-Media-Player/11/privacy-statement?locale=409&geoid=F4&version=11.0.5721.5280&UserLocale=409#section_6

My question is that if I turn the setting (which was on), this means that my music in my library files are sent on a windows media database?  or just a piece of information about the file are sent to them?

Let's say I have a family video that I created with my own camera in AVI file format and it ' in my library.  If the setting I mentioned above is enabled, the video files are also sent to the database of windows media, or somewhere?   There is nothing to hide, but I really don't want my own private music which will be sent to anywhere else on my computer that's why I really want to know what kind of data or information about the file are sent to the windows media database to retrieve information from the media.

also what about the customer experience improvement program in the drive configuration? ("I want to help makeMicrosoft software and services even better by sending Player to check data use versMicrosoft" on the Privacy tab on the dialog option in the player)  I did not know until now, but the setting has been activated on my player... If it's on, my personal files in my library are sent to Microsoft? According to the article, I've read it doesn't seem like it, but I don't know and want to make sure.

I'm sorry for the long long entry... but if anyone can help me with the answer, I would really really appreciate it!

    Thank you very much

As for the 1st setting, audio/video files certainly is not sent to Microsoft (which would require anyway a lot too much bandwidth). WMP only sends the metadata, such as title, artist, length etc.

On the 2nd parameter, the privacy statement for the Customer Experience Improvement Program is at http://www.microsoft.com/products/ceip/EN-US/privacypolicy.mspx . After that, no personal file will be sent (I don't see how those that might be useful to Microsoft). If you are still not sure, you can always disable this setting without side effects.

  • How can I get rid of Windows Media Player Media Guide?

When you use Windows Media Player I clicked on Windows Media Player Media Guide believing he'd help me using Media Player. Instead it turns out be a forum of advertiswing for online retailers.  I can't get rid of the thw Media Guide, and he takes the place of Windows Media Player, so I can't use it.  Help!.

    Hello

It has no customizable option in Windows Media Player to remove the media guide and the online store in Windows Media player 11. This is normal and there is no way, you can remove or disable it.

However, you can publish your proposal or information on the case you want to see it implemented in the future.

    I hope this helps.

  • Windows Media Player 11 Rip - Vista Home Premium error

I have the same problems others have with my Media Player.  This problem started not until I installed updates to windows.  I have updated to service pack 2 and Internet Explorer 8.  I tried system restore but my most old restore point was only a week before my problem and did not help at all.

Here's my problem exactly how it goes:

I put a cd Ripper.  He begins ripping automatically the first track automatically.  On all the remaining tracks, it says "pending" in the status of rip.  After extraction of about 20% of the track, he spent the "ripping" to "error".  Then, all other tracks are from 'pending' to 'error' and ejects the cd.  I tried all combinations of bitrate and the type of file format and nothing seems to work.  Also on some of your answers on this forum your told us to go to the page Windows VISTA Media Player 11 download to download, but when I click on the link http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/download/AllDownloads.aspx , DOES NOT give you the option of Windows Media Player 11 for VISTA, only for XP and earlier windows platforms.  I even tried to download one for XP and I got an error saying something like that I have a newer version and that you can't use that one.  Anyone can solve this for me?  I was able to copy CDs to the 31/08/09, since these windows updates seems to have screwed something.  Are there bugs in these new updates of compatibility issues?  Help!

    Don

    Hello SavatageFan, welcome.

Out of curiosity, have you tried ripping the content to another computer? The disc itself is possibly corrupt.
Another option you can try is to manually copy the contents of the CD to the hard drive and play back locally. That would reduce the possible causes.

In addition, what happens if you try to read all the content? Never introduce error messages or jump?

  • Recently added feature in windows media player 12 deleted?

    Hello

I used to like WMP. I have more than 17,000 mp3 with beautiful tags and album art. I download 1 or 2 albums per week on average. So, normally I open my WMP and click under the option added music recently and I would like to get a glimpse of the nive. But now I give just the sort options; Artist, album and Genre. Which means that I have to remember what I've downloaded recently, search them and put it in a new playlist. But then, if I accidentally click twice on a song, the playlist is gone and I have to start all over again. Instead, most of the time I swear just to stop and the computer.

Why remove such a valuable function? can I get it back?

    Hi Wafter,

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers Community Forum site!

By design, recently added option is turned off in Windows Media Player 12. However, you can try with the other option in Windows Media Player, which is to create or change a regular playlist.

I hope this helps solve your problem!
