Buy a custom configuration of Satellite P300 online?

Hello world

I have a question. I bought the laptop Toshiba Satellite P100-260 3 years ago. Recently, it was covered with water and it costs a lot to fix.
I also had a windows XP media center on it.

The question is: can I buy a custom Satellite without Windows and the memory of the device model?

I saw at www.toshiba.com is it low to order a custom configuration of Satellite P300, but it seems to work in the United States, but I live in Europe (Estonia).
Is it possible to order the Satellite P300 with configuration custom in Estonia?

You mean you want to buy the Satellite P300 without preinstalled Windows operating system and RAM?

Boyfriend sorry but I don t think it would be possible

Of course, I've seen some Satellite laptops which are supplied without operating system preinstalled, but this does not apply to all series. In addition all laptops are equipped with RAM and other internal devices

    Hello

I'm sorry, I know this question has been asked before, but I can't seem to find the solution.
I have a Satellite P300 PSPCCA-015015, (which came with Windows Vista, when I bought it).
I did a clean install of Windows 7. Now many things did not work with this OS if I want to reinstall the previous version of windows.
The only thing is that I have created a recovery disk and lost their: (.)
Now, I have the hard disk that windows creates the recovery disc files in. All I need is to either 1 get the software recovery disk creater my model or
the recovery disk full reinstall with factory setting.
Would you know where I could get one of these two.
I am WIndows 7 CAP to death at the moment and Im regreting his installation and lose my disks :(

Oh also to tell you I'm alive in the Japan now, but I bought the laptop in Australia, so there English OS, more I was wondering how I would go he posted to the Japan.
or if I go somewhere in Tokyo and solve this problem by a toshiba shop that performs repairs.

Thanks I hope I can get an answer and a solution of someone.

I don't know how it works in Australia, but I think you can order the original recovery by Australian Toshiba service provider media.
I don't know if they'll send it but a friend you can order and buy it for you and send you later to the Japan.

I think it's the easiest way to get the original Toshiba drive facilities.

I have a Satellite P300-150. The easy (the illuminated keys above the keyboard) keys work fine when iTunes is in the foreground, but I want them to work when I minimized iTunes or switch to another window. I found the "TOSHIBA button Support" utility help within TOSHIBA, but it only allows me to set it up as the "Enlightenment" and "CD/DVD" [drive] (the two left most) easy keys make...

    Any ideas please?

    Thank you.

I doubt that this is possible
I m using the WinAmp instead of Windows Media Player and the CD/DVD button works with Winamp. I want to say I can run Winamp by pressing this button, but I can't use the game, break, buttons forward in WinAmp.

  • What to buy - Satellite P300 and P300D?

    Hello!

I was wondering if you experts can give me some advice... my FRIEND is considering buying a new laptop and so far, we look at these two cell phones:

    http://www.comshop.SI/article.asp?articleid=62753

    http://www.comshop.SI/article.asp?articleid=61173

She'll use her cell phone to surf, play music, watch movies, even the casual games. P300D model has a stronger graphics card, they both have the same amount of RAM, 3 GB, disk space is not only important because it has an external drive. What CPU? the P300D model has Dual-Core AMD Turion 64 X 2 RM - 70, 2.0 GHz, while the P300 model has Intel Core 2 Duo P8600 2.4 GHz 1066 MHz 3 MB. While one is better? I ve heard say that this model P300D has an overheating problem when you play. Is this true?

Anyway, thanks a lot for any input.

    Concerning

    Hello!

The Satellite P300 with Core 2 Duo P8600 is faster than the P300D with the Turion 64 X 2.

If you want to play games on your laptop, you must take the P300D. The graphics card is faster and the difference between the CPU is not very different.
For all other applications, the Turion processor is fast enough.

  • Need a new fan of cooling to Satellite P300

I have Toshiba Satellite P300 model PSPC4E-02E00JG3 numb.

I have problem with my fan, makes funny noise. I think buying a new one, because after I cleaned it, it still produced noise.

Is could someone please tell me what is the price of the cooler?

    CAD Bosanac

The prices are not the same in all European countries. What you can try is to contact Toshiba service in Sarajevo. I guess one of them must be in the capital. They can tell you how much it costs.

You can also try Googling around online and buy it. Good price, you can find it on eBay.
You want to exchange it only?
Without maintenance manuals, I mean that it can be quite risky.

  • Satellite P300 - problems with the buttons of enlightenment

First of all, I would like to apologize for my bad English, I'm French actually.

Hi, I bought a laptop Satellite P300, a couple of days, and already I have a problem with tactile keys (one on top of the keyboard).

Actually, the only one of the left, which is supposed to turn off the sound used to keep away the keys lights and Satellite logo. One day (and I don't know why), when I pressed her, she actually cut the sound. And now, the first two keys (mute and shortcut of windows media) do not work, but the other four (Media Player control).
I tried Toshiba Assist, and the tool for the configuration of the pushbuttons (I don't know the English name of this tool) but I couldn't set the keys, they were not on the list "button name".

So, does anyone have an idea how to solve this problem?

I apologize again for my English.

    Hello

I assume you are using Windows Vista because you bought the laptop a couple of days and so I think that you should try to reinstall the Toshiba value added Package. This package determines the buttons of the lighting that you mean and others (for example the FN keys too).

The latest version, you can download the Toshiba site:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported Downloads & => Download drivers

    1. download the latest PPV on the Toshiba site
    2. go in Control Panel > Add/Remove programs. Find the Toshiba value added package and remove it
    3. restart the laptop
    4. download and install CCleaner. This cool cleans up the registry of Windows and system files. He should find some registry keys of Toshiba you should remove with CCleaner.
    5 reboot the laptop
    6. install the PPV that you already downloaded
    7 restart once again

Since a few days ago, it cannot start. In fact, when I press the power button, the screen is already black and I got a beep: one long and two beep short beep.

I see on many sites that the graphics card is out. I would like to change the graphics card. Is it possible? Where can I buy a new graphics card? How can I disassemble the Toshiba P300?

    Thank you for your help

    > I would like to change the graphics card. Is it possible? Where can I buy a new graphics card? How can I disassemble the Toshiba P300?
Unfortunately it's the worst thing that can happen with laptop. In general the GPU cannot be replaced and when something like this happens all motherboard needs to be replaced.

You can try to use Google and check if you can find something but it is unclear to me that you can buy a graphics card in some online stores. Maybe on ebay and without warranty.

    All this is quite complicated.

  • Can I use second HDD on my Satellite P300-PSPCCE?

    Hi all

I have a German P300-PSPCCE bought a few months ago. I noticed that the laptop has two bays for 2.5 "sata DISKS, which one is already ocupied by the drive by default, and the other has some ankles plastic on the portable drive door, which makes impossible to another harddrive on the Bay.

The question is: if I remove the pins plastic of the door drive and put another HARD disk, with appropriate fixing stuff, the laptop can handle? (power, motherboard compatibility and so on...)

    The second is:

Recently, I had an old P200 mother due to a bad Connection USB with an experimental device that I developed burn.
Now it s hard to find this old P200 motherboard.
I m planning to buy a motherboard of the P300-PSPCCE mine, but I Don t know where to find such a thing, so I m asking if anyone knows where I can find it, please can U show me the way?

    Thanks for any answers

    Daniel.

    Hello Daniel

My brother has Satellite P300 and we found the same situation.
Most important is if your laptop has connector to the second HARD drive. If so, you can connect but it needs the HARD drive cover.
My brother has deleted these rods plastic carefully and everything is OK now. It uses 250 GB SATA HDD.

Old motherboard, you can try to get a Toshiba authorized service provider in your country.
Another way Google a little bit and see if you can find some online store where you can order one.
Another option is to check eBay.
Maybe you can find some old P200 with broken screen, but with good working motherboard.

    Hello

Connecting via HDMI cable should t be a problem. Just buy a high quality cable and connect both devices. With FN + F5, you can switch between monitors.

Unfortunately I think that it of not possible to control the laptop through TV remote. The TV remote is designed for your TV, not your laptop. ;)

Well, I'm running a Toshiba Satellite P300 and I'm having the problem.

I just returned it to repair and they changed the motherboard. I've updated the BIOS. I did a clean installation of the operating system to Windows 7 which. Toshiba
    LED power button fix

    Toshiba
    Satellite P300-h-13

    By Thom
    Wijtenburg

First of all, I would like to
say you that I came up with this correction, after a clean reinstall of the
Vista. (I used the serial number of windows on the bottom of my laptop for)
install, so it's the same license as the OEM of windows and therefore
Tout_a_fait legal.) After the clean install and installation of all the
the drivers listed on the site of toshiba LED power button (also
known as the mute button) and the CDDVD butten (mediaplayer button)
stopped working. After browsing around forums toshiba I found
this case, I removed the support button utility that the mute button has acted as
a mute button. Also the mediaplayer button worked fine. Reinstalled
the utility support for the button and they have stopped working. After many
toshiba calls (I think about 5-6 in one day) they opened a
support ticket for me, because they (team support callcenter)
could not find a solution. Following their advice, I did the
next to try to make it work:

    * Don't have a system restore with the restore DVD.
    * Do you have an another clean install.
    * Install the drivers in various ways (alphabetically reversed by alphabetical order and order of collection DVD).
    * update my BIOS.
    * downloaded a 'new' version of value added package (which was the same thing I already had).
    * installed the VAP with and without technical support button utility, no changes.
    After doing everything
This, they said that they did not know the cause of my problem (at the beginning
they thought it was hardware related). They came with a possible
    anwer:

    "It is."
possible that we removed some features of windows vista
operating system so that our one utility for device drivers
work. In addition, we do support the configuration, that we delivered
When you bought the laptop. »

    Now of course, I have
understand that. I waited allmost a week, no response. Neither
by electronic mail, or by phone, so I decided to google more
    on the problem.

    After a certain
some research on Toshiba forum and Googling I came across
a thread that sayd I must first install the utility 'control '.
and the button press. Unfortunately what it did not work.

    Then, all of a sudden
Windows displays a message saying that I should install the TOSHIBA.
"ACPI-based value-added general use and logical device driver.
I clicked on the provided download link, and the VFR package was a newer version
version of the support page for my laptop which is held. So I downloaded
This PPV version 1.17 and installed it. After a reboot, the buttons
still did not work. But at least I got the file HWSetup.exe, where I
could turn the LED off. Look into the button holder utility, I have
saw that there where buttons like "Toshiba Assist" which my
    the laptop model is not.

    Navigation
through the toshiba forum I found a file named ButtonSettings.ini, in
which I can manually configure special keys. After a google
search on the name of the file, I found that all the buttons list
in a registry key. I saw the "Dimmer" file using the button
folder and clicked on it. Poof... lights went out. Click again,
Poof... lights turn it back on. So I replaced the wrong button definitions
with CDDVD and dimmer values. Saved my changes but is not a restart.
Opens the support button utility and change the path of
MediaPlayer (who was always there to a previous definition) to
Dimmer.exe. checked to see if the button CDDVD pointed
MediaPlayer and restarted. When everything has been started, I pushed on the
button again and presto... MUTE lights off. Pushed again, poof...
lights. Pressed the mediaplayer button and started to mediaplyer. I have
has been very happy when everything worked.
    Now that you
know the story, here's the fix.

    * Difficulty: *.
    * Download and install the new VAP from here: [http://cdgenp01.csd.toshiba.com/content/support/downloads/util_tvap_26084A.exe]
    * Choose Edit in the installation and make sure that everything is checked
    * do NOT restart after the installation.
    * Download the ini fix and the fixed registry
    * Uncompress its contents into your working folder.
    * Copy the ini into C:\Program Files\TOSHIBA\TBS (where C: is the drive of program files)
    * In this same folder, start the exe called TBSbtnSt.exe
    * do NOT restart, click on 'no' in the dialog box.
    * Double click on the registry key, and then click 'Yes' to add to the registry
    * Then open the button support utility by clicking Start-> Toshiba-> utilities-> Toshiba assist. Help go to optimilization and click support button tohiba
    * If the path or the description is disabled, fix, and then click Save. See also if the CD/DVD mediaplayer points.
    * Restart you computer now.
    * If everything is is well past your special buttons should work.

    * WARNING: *.

    It worked for
me, with my Toshiba Satellite P300-h-13, edition windows Home premium 32-bit.
It should work on any model of 6 buttons with the mediaplayer and the mute
buttons. I am in no way responsible for any damage that may arise
If the fix does not work correctly. There is absolutely no. GARUENTEE
It will work for you. If the answer is Yes, he does, and if it's not it
    doesn't work.

    * Author: *.

    I came
With this fix by myself, without any help from toshiba support. I am
the original author of this text. This document is for information
purposes and should not be modified in any way.

    This page is
also hosted on my Web site for documentation purposes. I have
contacted toshiba support on my support ticket and has asked to
Cancel and read this. I have also explained in the world.

Wow, that's really cool! I think that a lot of users here would appreciate this extraordinary well documented fix.

    Thanks dude. :)
