Buying a new wireless router that connects to the internet by cable with some hardware ports.

I bought a WRK54G in 2004.  In the last six months, I bought two notebooks for my daughters.  My family has added four Android smartphones in the 45 days.  Our Wired internet connection come off the router wireless on our office is very frequently abandon its connection.  Seems one of the smartphones is ripped from the INVESTIGATION period.  Does make sense?

Pulling IP address - you mean there is a conflict between the IP address of the PC cable to a wireless device?

If this is the case, I suggest that you apply static I have. Here is a guide I've seen back on how to do: assign a static on a wired computer IP address

Or if you are watching a fall on the computer because you have introduced new wireless devices in your network?

    Hello

    You need Virtual WiFi:

You may not have that unless you try to connect to other WiFi devices via your computer and
many WiFi devices and their drivers do not correctly support the virtual pilot.

Check with the manufacturer of system and/or support updated real manufacturer Sites and WiFi device drivers.
(Which is also updating the driver virtual.) If no new drivers WiFi are available then re - install the present
    one.

Control Panel - network - write down of the brand and the model of the Wifi - double click top - tab of the driver - write
version - click the driver update (cannot do something that MS is far behind the pilots of certification). Then
Right click on the Wifi device and UNINSTALL - Reboot - it will refresh the driver stack.

Now in the system manufacturer (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) site (in a restaurant), peripheral
Site of the manufacturer (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for
BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after
    each installation.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

Installation and update of drivers under Windows 7 (updated drivers manually using the methods
below is preferred so that the latest drivers from the manufacturer of system and device manufacturers are
    found)
    http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/43216-installing-updating-drivers-7-a.html

Download - SAVE - go where you put it - right click – RUN AS ADMIN.

You can download several at once however restart after the installation of each of them.

After watching the system manufacturer, you can check the manufacturer of the device an even newer version.
(Those become your fonts of rescue system manufacturer).

Repeat for network card (NIC) and is a good time to get the other updated drivers as
Windows 7 like the updated drivers.

More information on what WiFi devices a virtual: (as noted above, if the device or the driver is not
support the virtual device or is not required then it can be disabled).

The WiFi device and the driver is installed must support a Virtual WiFi configuration. Check with the system
Manufacturer support, their documentation online and drivers and ask in their forums (if any) known
questions. If the wireless device is supported for OEM sound drivers, visit their site for updated drivers and

  • Can connect to the wireless router, but not to the Internet

Because I could not find this post, I published in my problem to

Windows 7, connecting Local only, no Internet

I think I described the problem a bit better here.

I had a Gateway DX4300-17 with Windows 7 Home Premium for about six weeks. I connect to the Internet via a Netgear wireless router. My Internet connection dropped often, but I've always been able to reconnect to the Saturday. Since the start-up my computer Sunday, when I try to connect to the Internet, the system tells me that I am connected to the router, but there is no connection between the router and the Internet. I did a system restore to Friday, but it did not help. I searched the Knowledge Base and tried several things I found there. Running "sfc/scannow" indicates that all is well. I disabled the '6' Protocol (I don't remember the letters that were with this, but you probably know what I mean). This made no difference either. I thought I would ask for help here in the hopes of not having to restart the computer to the "hospital". That's a very different problem here barely a week. I need help, please.

    Hello Bill6009,

Have you tried to boot your computer in SafeMode w/network to see if the problem persists?

If so, try to perform a clean boot to see if you encounter the same problem.

Please post back your results if we can help get your problem solved J

  • New laptop unable to connect to the Internet. Help

    Hello world.
I just got a new computer hp laptop but it is impossible to connect to the Internet. Whenever I tried to connect it to my server, it says unable to connect. I tried all the possibilities I could think. I also had a printer wireless and chrome cast which is unable to connect as well, but my cell phone, laptop and portable older is able to connect again. Help, please!

The brand of the router should not make a difference. You know for sure that the router is working properly? Can you connect other devices to it and make it work properly? It may well be that the router is the question. If you hire someone like AT & T router, you may need to call them, there may be a necessary service that only they can fix. Go ahead and give me the model number of the router, will see if I can find something...

Have you gotten to the point where you entered the security keys in your devices? If so, it reduces some of what we would have to do.

Try resetting your devices. Go ahead and turn off your laptop. Then unplug your router for about 30 or more. Use it to back in wait for all lights to turn green. Once your router is ready, start your laptop up. Refreshing devices as is sometimes necessary after making any changes to the network settings.

Sorry for all the running around... network problems can sometimes be difficult to understand.

  • Why my wireless router can not access the internet?

Since my ISP was purchased by another company I had problems to connect to the internet. 8 years with the former ISP I've almost never had a problem and if I did corrected himself very soon. I haven't changed anything on my end, but I get the info. below of Wireless Diagnostics. I hesitate to call the ISP because I don't want it must make changes that can not help and then I have I don't know how to get back to square one. I have tried everything that I read on the subject of internet connections has dropped, but it makes no difference. I use airport Time Capsule as my router wireless because of its 802.11ac technology while the Actiontec AGT784WNV Wireless Gateway is only 802.11n. Thanks for any help you can offer me.

We need a lot of details.

Perhaps the best way is a screenshot of the page summary of TC...

That is to say, click on the TC icon in airport utility.

It gives me a lot of valuable information.

And I'll probably reset you your TC at the factory.

Since you are concerned to recover the old settings make a backup now.

Click Edit in the summary page... and in the main menu, click Export configuration.

Now you have a way to restore the settings you... Although I don't think you want instantly.

If we remove the fear factor that can help.

If your ISP changes the settings a full reset and reconfigure the TC is usually required.

    Universal factory reset

Turning off the TC... That is, remove the power supply cord or the power at the wall outlet, wait 10 seconds... Hold the reset button... be nice... Turn on always even now in reset... and keep holding in for another 10 seconds. You may need assistance because it is difficult to hold in reset and power on. It will show the success quickly flashing led front. Release reset... and wait a few minutes for the TC to reset and return with the factory settings. If the front LED flashes quickly you missed and simply try again. The reset is quite fragile in these... Press the key while it is just click away and not more... I've seen people bend lever or even break. I use a toothpick as a tool.

NB. None of your files on the hard drive of the TC are removed... This simply clears the settings of the router of the TC.

    The installer the TC.

Then redo the configuration of the computer that you want to use for TM using Airport utility.

    1. the use of very short names... NO APPLE RECOMMENDED names. Without the space and pure alphanumeric characters.

for example TCgen5 for the base station and the name of the TCwifi wireless.

If the wireless is still an issue defined wireless names like TC24ghz and assigned the 5 GHz other name... for example. TC5ghz

    2. use all passwords also consistent with 1. but maybe a little longer. IE 8 and 20 characters of mixed cases and numbers... no alphanumeric non-caracteres.

** 3. If the TC is router, you can ignore this point. It is only a problem when the TC is bridged.

If ensure that the TC is always the same IP address... you will need to do this on the main router using a dhcp reservation... or a bit more complex setup by using the static IP address in the TC.

Ignore this point if you don't understand it... after the return if you drop questions.

    4. be sure that IPv6 is set correctly in the computer. IE link-local only for ethernet or wireless depending on whether you are using. Car is not good enough.

  • New computer does not connect to the internet.

I built a new PC (Windows 7) and trying to connect to the internet with a CAT6 Ethernet cable. The computer doesn't seem to recognize its there and has not downloaded, so I can not connect, what do I do?

    Hi Cody,

    1. What is the brand and model of router/modem?

    2. have you used the anothet ethernet cable?

Internet connection issues are more often caused by disconnected cables or by routers or modems that do not work correctly.

Click on the link below and see if the Internet works correctly.

  • new Windows7 PC cannot connect to the internet.

My daughter just bought a new PC Dell 660 s loaded with Win7.  When she moves her router from the old PC (XP) and insert it into the new, it fails not only to connect to internet but she knocks out the phone line.  The filter and the router, both work fine with the old PC. Everyone knows about this problem?

You may need to configure your PC to work with the router.

When you connect the router to the PC, try to connect to the internet, open Internet Explorer, and then click on diagnose network connection problem.

You can contact your ISP and ask them how to set up the router with new PC.

    Hello

    ·         What is the antivirus installed on the computer program?

    Let's try the following methods.

Method 1: Temporarily disable the antivirus on the computer program and check if the problem persists. If no problem occurs, then you need to firewall settings in the security software.

Note:  Check that you activate your anti-virus protection on the computer back after you complete these steps. It is not recommended to disable these settings on the computer. It's just to solve the problem.
