By clicking on an icon home re - opens a lot of tabs from a previous session, even if I closed with "Exit and save" with only two legs
For the comm.
I'm a little frustrated. I had a session with maybe 20 open tabs. I closed the browser by selecting just "Quit". Whenever a new start, all these tabs open again. So - I delete them all and let two tabs open. My home page and my email page say. Then I left and select "Save and Quit".
I start again - and all is well. Only two tabs there. I support on ^ T to open another tab. Do something and get tired of deicide both to display my home page in this tab - so I click on the Home icon below the menu bar - and guess what - all those f * k 20. tablets reappear remember all these ugly sites I looked at weeks.
Can you please clean this behavior?
Thank you
I do not see that in the post - so I will add here:
Version 3.8.6 on Windoz 7.
Check your list of home pages, Firefox can store many home pages.

This problem started when I refreshed recently Fire Fox due to other problems I had. Options > general > fire fox on startup is set to 'show my home page ". In the support forum, I found another user with the same problem and the solution for him had to do with the user.js file in the profile folder? Subject: config? In any case, the answer was to delete that file, or better yet delete all the text in it and save this file empty and set it to read only to prevent it from reappearing. That's all beyond me and my skinny computer knowledge and I don't even know if I have a user.js file. Help, please
My problem is now solved. I don't know if there's someone else out there who would do what I did, but just in case, I'll tell you at the end of the day, what was causing the multiple tabs to open every time I opened Firefox, at least as far as I understand. While I contemplated the helpful response more returned hoping to understand what was wrong with my Firefox, my son has shown out of town and 5 minutes, he found out what I did wrong. In Options > general > Home Page, I got an address which included not only the home page I wanted 'Google News', but apparently the addresses of all the other tabs this guarded appearance until when I started towards the top of Firefox. Maybe it's not exactly the right explanation, but change the homepage to "News.google.fr" solved the problem. Thanks to everyone out there who gave their best to help me, I'm sure it's hard to solve problems like that when he would never come to you that someone would do the things they do. Thanks again.

Firefix shows tabs from a previous session despite the sealing to the Home Page or blank Page
When I first start Firefox (31.0), all the previous browsing session tabs are displayed. If you have a few news sites such as home pages, then you get yesterdays new shown to you.
I tried to go options and the setting for "when Firefox starts:" is set to "show my home page". I tried to adjust to "Show a blank page" but it makes no difference, I still get the tabs that were open when I closed the browser.
From Firefox in safe mode makes no difference - I still get the legs of the previous browsing session. I have not recently added additional modules.
How to get back control how Firefox start?
You can check if you have a user.js file in the Firefox profile folder that affects the pref browser.sessionstore.resume_session_once true value.
You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder currently in use:
- Help > troubleshooting information > profile directory: see file (Linux: open the directory;) Mac: View in the Finder)

opens with the tabs from the previous session
After update automatically to v18.0.1 a new FF session now opens with all the tabs that were open when I closed the previous session. How can I get back to where a new session opens only on my home page?
Ah Ah! It worked, it seems that it is a matter of Tab Mix Plus.

When I click on a url, it should open in a new tab; why it opens in the same tab?
I have my preferences of Mozilla implemented so that whenever I click on a url, it should open in a new tab, but every once in a while, Mozilla goes on the fritz, and open the new url IN THE SAME TAB! I checked my preferences, they are always well positioned. I checked the tools: Options: general: tabs: open the new window in the tab instead. and when I open a link in a new tab, switch to it immediately. If it is always well positioned.
What Miss me?
That preference refers to links that are coded to launch in a new window: start them in a new tab instead of a new window.
Unfortunately, there is no adjustment for the links that are coded to launch in the same tab to start them in a new tab instead of in the same tab. You would need an add-on for that.
Normally, I would you recommend checking out Tab Mix Plus as the 'Swiss Army knife' tab features, but lately, it has a small bug so it has not been last updated in recent days, could you hold off on using it.

This laptop has firefox on it since the first day. and I got flashgot on this as well. But today when I tried to download something that I have that option (save the file) flashgot wasn't there. I was a little surprised but downloaded and installed flashgot anyway. He asked me to restart firefox and I let him. then when it restarted I had a lot of pop windows asking me which application is used to open this link (it wasn't a link and I got only firefox so I picked it up) was windows 10 or more pop so I chose to use this option for all. When I did so all of a sudden got a lot of poping up tabs, then a new window pop Firefox on with a lot of poping up tabs and then a new window. i've got up to 19 poping windows with lots of tabs. I had to close it with the Task Manager.now when I want to use firefox about 20 tablets pop up then a new window Firefox pop up, and then when I type a url another 20 tablets pop then a window pop...
This laptop may have problems. am scaning now using an ESET online scanner to see what is happening.
Thank you for your help in advanceCreate a new profile as a test to see if your profile is the source of the problems.
See basic troubleshooting: a new profileThere may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "tools > Modules > Extensions & PluginsĀ»
If this new profile works then you can transfer files from the old profile to the new profile (be careful not to copy corrupted files)

When I downloaded Mozilla Firefox and clicked on the Firefox icon I get this message on the Firefox homepage "the address is not valid.
The URL is not valid and cannot be loaded. "I can always access the internet but what do I do to get rid of this message. The home page does not display the icon of firefox.
You can check the setting of the homepage:
- Tools > Options > general > startup: Homepage
Firefox supports several home pages separated by ' |' symbol (pipe).
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.
- Put yourself in the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance
- Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode safe
-
The only method I found to open a new tab is to copy the URL, press Ctrl + T, and then paste the URL and go.
Start Firefox in Firefox to solve the issues in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > appearance/themes).
- Makes no changes on the start safe mode window.

You can also check the preferences of browser.link.open_newwindow on the subject: config page.

After that I downloaded and installed Firefox 4 when I open it, it opens tabs, I've not used in the month, but not the tabs that I saved!
Thanks for any help to solve this.
It may be a problem with the sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak file in the profile folder
Delete sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the profile folder
If you see files sessionstore-# .js with a number in the left part of the name as sessionstore - 1.js then delete those as well.
See:
-
There is no trace of the previous session, to the title of the menu bar. I know it's common, I hope someone has a new response.
Thank youThe xtra74pv.default file is the Firefox profile folder, if the file is in the right place and needed to be moved.
If you have an older version of the sessionstore.js file from before the crash then you need to replace the current sessionstore.js with the old copy to see if brings back the lost tabs.
