By comparing the other OS Vista

I'm trying to find a tool that details the OS installation procedures, orders, etc..  The tool for the job would be the detail of orders and procedures XP in a single column and have Vista controls for the same characteristics in the second column.  I was wondering if anyone has such a work tool or can point me to a site where I can find the information.  Any help would be appreciated.

I don't know what commands are you talking about. Your question is too broad. There are many differences between XP and Vista and many similarities. There is a large amount of information on the way in which the operation of each operating system that you are available if you need to define your end goal closer.

If you want to compare installation techniques, here are links detailing XP installs and install Vista. You can read through them and make notes on the differences.

  • How to activate the faults COMMITTED to an internal SATA hard drive, but not the other, on Vista Home Premium 32-bit?

I have a set of 17-inch laptop 2008 which contains two hard drive bays internal, purchased in June.  It came with a single hard drive (traditional spinning disc).  It is running Service Pack 2, Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit.

My SATA controller is an Intel 82801GBM/GHM (ICH7-M family); I think it's a first-generation SATA controller (1.5 Gbps).

I received recently a 160 GB Intel X - 25 M SSD (second generation SATA, but it is fully compatible with the first generation controllers, without additional or jumpers configuration) as a gift from my wife.  I removed my first hard drive completely, installed the SSD in the main Bay and installed Windows, drivers and the Intel SSD utility.  I then reinstalled my HDD original in the second span, completely wiped and reformatted it as a partition; It currently contains my music and other multimedia files.

The utility Intel SSD tells me I should activate DIPM for my SSD as opposed to HIPM.  This seems to take a bit of tinkering to make Vista, and my situation is further complicated by the presence of my HARD drive (original) secondary, which prefer to use HIPM.

I read the article on the Microsoft Web site on editing the registry to activate the misconduct, and it's something I would feel comfortable doing. However, I don't want my SSD to use DIPM, my HARD drive is expected to continue to use HIPM, and I was afraid that the proposed fix would allow the misconduct for all readers.

Could someone let me know how I can activate DIPM for my SSD while continuing to use HIPM to my HARD drive, I'd be very grateful.

EDIT: My Maintenance of SSD utility said simply that the State of the settings DIPM/HIPM "could not be determined." if Vista automatically selects the correct setting and the SSD utility does not just understand that, which makes my life a lot easier. but it would be nice to know for sure, so I can forget it all (if Vista already defined for me) or change the setting (if Vista did not automatically choose food appropriate for each disk management mode).

You will need two SATA controllers: both on board or an edge and the other on PCI - E.

Configure one who does not need TRIM/DIPM (do not use a SSD) as non-AHCI (compatible IDE/ATA-6) in the BIOS and the other (where TRIM/DIPM will be used) as AHCI.

Connect the drive to which you DIPM AHCI controller. See http://www.abxzone.com/forums/f155/tip-how-enable-dipm-ssds-windows-120968.html for more information.

  • Re: Serial number down would work with the other Windows Vista operating system

First of all sorry for my English.
    I have one question.

My hard drive is broken with my recovery partition.
If I download windows vista and install the system with my original serial number on the laptop, this will work or should I activate it after installation.

I hope it's the same number that the front is installed on my first installation.

    Hello Marcin

I doubt that the serial number that is placed at the bottom of the device works with another Windows Vista operating system. But it s worth a try
You could test it I heard it's very rare cases it was possible

In any case, if your HARD disk is damaged and it of not possible to create a recovery DVD using recovery software Toshiba disc creator, then you must contact the ASP in your country for assistance.

If the warranty is valid the HARD drive should be replaced just for free. If you need only the recovery DVDs, then you can order it here:

  • Compare the months in the calculation

    Hi guys,.

I have a question about calculations in Essbase (calcscript).

I want to know if a month (for example Jan) is less than (<) the other month (e.g., Feb).

The first month is in a variable (& BasePeriod), the second month is @currmbr (periods).

A comparison between these is fine for the following operators: <>, ==.

But I need to know if the first is 'small' (earlier in my size) than the other.

My rules are in a time dimension.

    And are built like:

    Year

    1ST QUARTER

    Jan

    Feb

    Mar

    etc.

I hope you guys can help.

Right, but you are not asked to compare the two members of dimension period arbitrary; only & BasePeriod and @CURRMBR ("Periods"):

«The first month is in a variable (& BasePeriod) second month is @currmbr (periods).»

But I need to know if the first is 'small' (earlier in my size) than the other. »

@ISMBR("Jan":&BasePeriod) returns TRUE when @CURRMBR (Periods) is earlier or equal to & BasePeriod

@ISMBR("Jan":&BasePeriod) AND NOT @ISMBR(&BasePeriod) returns TRUE if @CURRMBR ("Periods") is prior to & BasePeriod

To compare the other way around you can reduce to zero the expression.

@ISMBR("Jan":&BasePeriod) NO returns TRUE when & BasePeriod is earlier than @CURRMBR ("Periods")

NO @ISMBR("Jan":&BasePeriod) OR @ISMBR(&BasePeriod) returns TRUE & BasePeriod is earlier or equal to @CURRMBR ("Periods)

Is it not what you ask?

  • Why I need to_char allows to compare the date?

    Hi guys:

I have a question that seem silly, but I couldn't know.

I have a simple query on Oracle 11 G R2 and I use SQL developer 3.1.07, the schema and the data has been migrated from a SQL Server:
    select *
    from vernote
    where whendate='09-JUL-12';
It returns empty results. However, tuples are in the table. When I try this:
    select *
    from vernote
    where to_char(whendate)='09-JUL-12';
He returned 677 lines. the whendate data type is date. but when I try another table in the same pattern:
    select *
    from invoices
    where transpostdate='09-JUL-12';
It returns tuples, and I don't have to use the function to_char. transpostdate is also a date. Could someone tell me why the two columns: whendate, transpostdate both are of type date, but I have to use to_char to compare, the other does not?

    Thanks in advance!

What kind of data are WHENDATE & TRANSPOSTDATE?

If they are the data type DATE, then they contain data too part TIME.
NEVER rely on the implicit data type conversion.
    July 9, 12 ' is STRING; not a DATE

    When TRUNC (transpostdate) = TO_DATE('09-JUL-2012','DD-MON-YYYY');

  • There are so many modules now that do the same thing, how can I say all the features of one add-on compared to others. I know I have way to much the same thing and need to get rid of the undesirables?

  • What formula would I use to add all the other ranks in my spreadsheet. I want to compare the fees and expenses of 2015 since they are incurred for 2016

On the same worksheet, I want a spreadsheet to compare spending 2015 totals by month in several categories to 2016 expenses when they occur. What is the best way to implement this worksheet? It is essentially a budget, but wants to see how the category spending increase or decrease all the months for 2016.

    Thanks for any help.

    Hi Bruddah,

I would like to start by rearranging your table so that the amounts from here to 2015 and 2016 switch not in the column, as implied in your question.

    Vocabulary of the numbers:

    worksheet not sentence numbers

Worksheet: A spreadsheet. Usually abbreviated to 'Document '.

Leaf: a blank canvas on which are placed the tables and other objects. A Document has at least one and maybe more than one.

Table: an object consisting of one or more cells, arranged in rows and columns.

Take a look at the personal Budget template (file > new form model...), specifically the summary in the table of categories.

It uses the formula: = SUMIF (Transactions::Category, A2, Amount)

Since you want to compare the volumes in several CATEGORIES at the specific two-year MONTH, you will need SUMIFS, using three test values, pairs of condition.

    Syntax: = SUMIFS (sum of the values,test values,condition,test values,condition,test values,condition)

I would like to know if it is enough information. If this isn't the case, I'll be later in the day to enter more specific details. In the meantime, a screenshot of your table and the lines of (at least) your transactions table header would be probably useful.

    Kind regards

    Barry

  • Unable to show the XP on Vista computer and a few other networking issues

    Hello

I tried to get my network set in place over the past two days without success.  The details of the network are:

Main computer is under XP Professional SP3 with the printer and the router connected to it.  I also have a laptop running Vista professional that connect wirelessly to the router.  I am able to ping the desktop from the laptop, but not vice versa.  Both computers have the same subnet and default gateway address.  By reading some troubleshooting, it was advised to run the microsoft patch to install the LLTD Responder on the xp machine I did.  I can see the files in the subfolders, but when I run services.msc program is not for me to start.    Desktop and laptop computer are in the same workgroup.  Before you install the hotfix, I could see the laptop from the network to the desktop but now I can't.  I also noticed that even if I have the LLTD my laptop configured to start automatically, it is not this.  In fact, it seems to stop automatically, and I have to restart the service.

I also try to put in place so that I can print from my laptop and my ipad sharing printer.  The printer and the desktop are set to share printers, but I can't find it on the laptop.  I'm assuming that once I see the desktop on the network it 'may' reslove this problem.

Anyone have any ideas on what I can do to solve the problem?  I can always connect all computers to the internet. I also see the two computers on the network when I run the network configuration in norton 360.

    Thank you very much

    Emily

N ° if it never works, then a firewall is not your problem.  Remember that Microsoft Networking can take up to 15 minutes to find a new devices on the network.  If it does not appear and you want to speed up the process a bit, try to search for the computer...

Start-> Search-> [for files & folders (the classic case)]
then, down in the section 'Search other elements', select 'computers '.
Enter the name of the other computer, and then click "search now".

This launches a pretty aggressive search for the other computer.

  • I try to install vista on my laptop but a letter of the key is not visible, all the other parts are very well including the serial code, is there another way to get the key of the other information?

    Taché product key

    Hello

I try to install vista on my laptop but a letter of the key is not visible, all the other parts are very well including the serial code, is there another way to get the key of the other information? The laptop currently has non-OS I've tried to reinstall.

    Thank you

    Scott

    Product keys are bit-agnostic - they don't care if it's 32-bit or 64-bit.

However, cannot legally use the recovery disk from one computer to a different constructor machine - as other licenses are not properly paid..

There is nothing nonetheless to try all possible variations on the absence of character (there are only 25, after all the )

Other than that, your best option is to contact the manufacturer and order a set of recovery disc for the machine. I do no download available for Vista with SP2 - but you can download Vista with SP1 and create the disc.

Windows Mail has stopped working on vista

First, make sure that is not a mistake on the mail server.  See if you can connect via webmail and account works fine.

Otherwise, see www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3 its likely that you have tight with antivirus software.  After checking, remove your email account, compact and repair the database (www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/) and then add your account mail back again once and ensure that any analysis of the electronic mail is disabled by antivirus software, and on the other.

  • Drive on which Windows XP to reside is always labeled as a system drive. How can I make one of the other disks that has Vista or 7 that the new system?

    Change the system drive

I'll try to explain my situation better than I can.

My situation is that when I used to have XP installed, I had installed the only drive I had back then which is now the drive D, for a long time, so I have Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit, Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit installed on two different discs, Vista is installed on drive C and 7 is installed on drive E , but I don't have XP that I had managed to get rid of it.

My problem is that the drive on which Windows XP to reside has always left this disc marked as system in the disk management window, and I was wondering how to do that one of the other readers who has Vista or 7 that the new system?

I already managed to change the startup disk from drive where Vista is installed to, it's just that I need to change the disk that is marked as system to another drive, such as D drive begins to show signs that it comes at the end of his life and I would like to move the startup folder as well as the other files needed to start on the other.

I assume that you installed Windows XP 1, then Vista, 7 (these 2 OS not in order)?

And Vista and 7 was by all means upgrade installation?

Since originally, that you have installed Windows XP on drive D, it should be marked as 'system' and retains so the tag 'system '.

The volume of the 'system' should be identified as the first primary partition active. It may or may not have the files it contains.

The fact that the system considers "system drive" does not mean that there are files that it contains.

Now, you want to delete the existing volume and create a new volume. Needs to be done outside the facility.
When you start the cd or DVD to start the installation list us readers, if you remove the volume the volume drive letter is already booked, so you get the next available drive letter, do not re-use the deleted volume drive letter.

If he removed during installation and then recreated as a new volume (formatting does not remove the volume, you need to delete the volume and recreate it)

-[Posted by Darrell Gorter [MSFT] in another forum.]

Try to format the XP partition and change the drive letter.
