By pressing special keys such as locking caps, volume + /, NumLock causes such as Alt + F4 closed to application active.

Problems with the driver for my 4000 ergonomic keyboard from Microsoft.

I'm on a Vista fully updated, on a Thinkpad T200 with the latest drivers and bios. Also, I went on the site keyboard MSFT and installed the latest driver for keyboard. (7.10.344.0)

Problem:
When I start my computer first, all right. In a few minutes, however, special keys show problem and a strange behavior:

* the Launcher key in keys very high, e.g. "1/2/3/4/5", in fact all those at the top, including the volume, do not work. When I press them, they even that would be an Alt + F4, which is close the active window.

* The Caps Lock button still works, but it is also a 'close this window' as well. F Lock is the same as NumLock.

* Interestingly, stop scroll is also not good, but PrtScrn and Pause/break are very good.

When I run the MSFT keyboard, it considers that all right, and I see all of my key missions as if they all work. But they do not.

Also, when I plug a generic keyboard I have around, this generic keyboard also shows the same problem for example with caps lock. So probably a driver issue.

Any ideas on what can I do to solve this problem, so that I could use one more time my ' special keys?

Thank you

Paul.

I confirmed that this problem occurs due to the process of Dream Aquarium failing to terminate (sometimes leaving itself in the bar of tasks, sometimes just as a visible process in the Task Manager). Closing the process instantly solves the problem.

If you are unable to run this particular screen saver, it could be something of general screensaver with Windows 7... in this case, put an end to something else :D

Follow the steps below and check if that helps.

    Step 1:

Test the issue in safe mode and check if the keyboard is blocked.

    Step 2:

If your computer very well in Safe Mode functions, you can put your system to boot and check if any third party or any service application is causing the problem and therefore the computer to freeze.

While the VI is running, press any button on the arrow, and you can see that the value of the indicator "Horizontal" and "Vertical" changes accordingly. However, once a special character key is press, for example 'Ctrl' or 'Caps Lock', the VI stop responding. Can someone tell me how to avoid this?

Also if you wish to react to the stop button everything you have to do is to add the event. See the attached file.

  • I restart the computer and changed the BIOs to boot from the CD. So as usual, I'm prompted to press any key to start from the CD or DVD.

Hello Comunity Microsoft :D My name is Mike and I built a gaming pc. Everything was going well for the first 3 days, but now I have a few crashes very violent. Speakers in loop and buzz and screen lock. I have to completely shut down to go back to a working state. I did everything I could possibly think of to solve this problem, but I can't.

Then. on the problem. Today, I decided that I was able to solve all the problems by reinstalling windows. I had my keys together and put the disc in. I restart the computer and changed the BIOs to boot from the CD. So as usual, I'm prompted to press any key to start from the CD or DVD. I do and I get normal loading windows files, and at the end of this road, I get the Welcome screen in windows7 with no option and a fat slider. I don't have the little box that tells me that I can fix my computer or reinstall windows, NOTHING. Just to isolate the problem, try to download a new copy of Windows 7, and then try again:

For 5 years, Microsoft made it fairly easy for users of the Windows 7 operating system to get reinstall media. If you have lost your support disc or installation retail collection; either it has been damaged or defective; You can download a copy of the edition that you have licensed from a membership site called Digital River. More recently, Microsoft ended the availability to reinstall media that you can download as a. File ISO in Digital River, which is a digital reproduction of an optical disc.

It was particularly convenient for people who could not easily get the manufacturer's recovery media, did not want to pay the fees required to get or preferred a clean configuration without the software packaged manufacturers or even a recovery partition does not work. It's easy to use, all you had to do was reinstall and reactivate using the product key located on the certificate of authenticity and download all the drivers on the manufacturers website.

Given that this option is no longer available, what are your options? See the article for more details:

How to: What are my options for Windows 7 reinstall media?

Make sure you scroll down and read the section:

What to do if you cannot get your manufacturer recovery media, refuse to use or to buy it or the Microsoft Software Recovery Website does not work?

Regarding problems with the computer itself, try to disconnect all nonessential equipment attached to it to see if the problem persists.

I would also try switching around components such as modules of memory to see if the problem persists.

I would also check to make sure that all components are mounted and installed correctly.

  • Satellite on L9W Mini - B - can not press multiple keys at the same time

    Hello

I'm here to inform a huge problem with the keyboard.
To play some games like Minecraft you will have to press certain keys (WASD to walk and jspace jump), but the keyboard automatically release all keys when a key is released.

Only the special keys like Ctrl, shift, Fn or Alt works.
I checked it with an app like Keyboardtest, then it is definitely a keyboard problem.
I also checked with external keyboard and it works.

I hope that this problem will be solved, it's really a bad problem, what the hell is - this.

    Thank you

    Just to clarify your keyboard:
You're talking about on the keyboard of the Tablet (touch screen keyboard) and not the keyboard dock.

  • Portege 2000 - cover sensor/special keys do not work after installing XP?

Windows XP SP2 is installed on a drive formatted on a Portege 2000 previously configured to run Win 2000 factory.
After the installation of all downloads for Windows XP available on the Toshiba site have been added.
The Toshiba special keys for browser and Toshiba console now do not work and the lid sensor
to get the computer to sleep or into hibernation do not work when the lid is closed.
She will be in hibernation if you press function f4. The XP was installed came not from Toshiba.
    Help? Thank you very much.

    Hello

The fact is that the Toshiba power saver controls the hibernation mode, and the day before.
Here, you can configure this option.
AFAIK closing cover option you can set only on the eve of setting power off or no action. You cannot set to Hibernate.
In the energy saver, you will need to use the Details button. In the system power mode, you can configure this action.

  • No boot device - insert boot disk and press any key

    Hello

I was with boot camp to install 10 Windows from a usb key. The first problem I encountered was an error message stating that Windows supports software could not be downloaded on my flash drive. I read that the necessary drivers could be installed later so I unchecked the box. The part of the installation, then training camp as it should (create a partition etc.)

However, when the Mac went to restart and (probably) to start the program installation of Windows, the error message "No boot device - insert boot disk and press any key" displayed. My problem is the wireless keyboard does not respond and the light on this issue seems to suggest that it is not connected. My guess is that the drivers needed, such as Bluetooth are not there.

I'd be happy enough to restart OS x and forget all about Windows, but I can't see how to get around this problem?

    A wired keyboard could work?

    any help is appreciated!

  • When you press the keys on my keyboard I get numbers instead of letters.

    NEEN HELP WITHOUT KEY

screwed up keyboards I press the u key and the number 4 comes out, right now I'm using the KEYBOARD of SCREEN on that used ON ACER I got 15/02/12. CAN SOMEONE HELP ME?            P.S. THANKS JAY-MAT.

    Hello Gerome

You have activated the NumLock feature on your system. From what I found on Acer and by turning off NumLock, you need to hold the function key 'Fn' correspondent and press the "F11". This should disable NumLock and the keys to normal. If this is not the case, look at your keyboard until you find a key with a symbol that has a number and a lock. Press and hold the function key and press the key.
  • Microsoft Wireless Natural Multimedia Keyboard, special keys on top of the keyboard do nothing

    Hello

I use Vista 64 bit and am having a problem with my Microsoft Wireless Natural Multimedia keyboard.  I use a port USB to ps/2 adapter for keyboard can work in my Dell which has usb inputs.  I downloaded and installed ITP64Eng6.30.191.0.exe Web sites to get the keyboard work.

Almost everything works fine except for the special keys on top of the keyboard (My Documents, my pictures, my music and Messenger).  When I press the buttons, nothing happens.  I tried the reallocation by using the software that has been installed with ITP64Eng6.30.191.0.exe nothing works.   Curiously, some other buttons special (media, mail and home) do not work except that they cannot be reassigned.  I also tried to delete and reinstalled ITP64Eng6.30.191.0.exe without success to get all of the keys on the keyboard to work.

In addition, sometimes the return key back and to the right cursor key will not work.  Sometimes they work and sometimes they are not.  Ususally they work very well for a while and then if I reboot they will work again.

Keyboard diagnostics does not recognize the keys that do not work as same presses.  I know that all the keys work fine when I use them on my XP machine.

    Thanks for your help.

To study more, I start to think that the keyboard doesn't perhaps due to the adapter usb to ps/2.  I use the SABRENT USB to PS/2 (PS/2) converter adapter cable model SBT-PS2U.  Based on the reviews on newegg.com, it may be the card that is originally a few keys not working and the collage of some keys.
